Floral Embroidered Denim Jacket- One Year In The Making!
I want this but on a short jean skirt!! Where is the person who actually made this?? TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE....LOL
On the reddit page it doesn't look like they're selling. You can look deeper into it by tapping the grey name above the upvote button
Load More Replies...I really wish i had enough money to buy this kind of work without moaning about the price. This should not be cheap at all but I could never afford the real price of a year of work
That is a gorgeous piece of wearable artwork! It makes me happy and reminds me of warmer spring and summer weather.
“Ah, I’ve finally finished my jacket. I’m so pleased. Let me just try it on….what do you mean it doesn’t fit me anymore!! It did a year ago!!” Beautiful needlework though
My New Work,poppy Flowers Field
The perspective here is stunning. The whole thing is amazing, but the sense of depth is awesome. Applause
Dude I wouldn't have the patience to do a painting this detailed from scratch, and I'm a skilled painter. The fact that you EMBROIDERED this is amazing
Sad but true. That was the war that was supposed to end war
Load More Replies...I have a genuine question since I know nothing about embroidering. I hope I don't offend anyone with this (especially because english is not my first language so I lack the correct terms). When people finish their work in these supports, what happens? What is supposed to do with these circles? I find them all really pretty but, like, should people hang them on the wall? Keep them as they are? So many questions
Sometimes they are kept in a hoop to display, as shown here. I guess some hoops are more decorative than others. Other times they are displayed in a round frame, with or without a glass covering.
Load More Replies...That is absolutely stunning from the colour gradients to how you were able to obtain the depth of field.
White Swan On A Black Lake
We started by asking where a beginner should start looking for resources and guides, as the internet is full of videos and instructions. Michelle Staub suggested that people just pick something and get to work on it. “I would recommend starting with a full embroidery kit or a pattern. With a kit, you’ll receive all of the materials you need and won’t have to go out and get all of your own thread colors and fabric. You may even end up with some leftover thread for future projects. If you can, avoid buying kits sold on Amazon because almost all of them contain stolen designs from other embroidery artists.”
“It’s best to buy kits from shops on Etsy to support small businesses. You can also find embroidery kits at craft stores. You may also choose to just get a pattern and source all of the materials yourself. You can find digital embroidery patterns on Etsy, or there is a large collection of free ones on DMC.com. If you’re looking to learn a wide range of different embroidery stitches then look for something called an embroidery sampler. If you’re a visual learner and like to follow along with videos, Youtube is a great place to find tutorials for different embroidery stitches. There are also online courses that teach embroidery that you can pay to take.”
My First Ever Embroidery (Please, Don't Be Too Harsh)
And another person sucked into the cult of handiwork…mwahahaaahhaaaa Come for the ONE craft that first inspired you, stay for the multitude of others that you’ll get sucked into, plus the wondrous hobby of collecting craft supplies.
Sewing, crochet, embroidery, friendship bracelets, kandi…

Some Of My Favorites I Embroidered , They Looked So Pretty Together
Another One Of My Works With Northern Lights. I Think I Will Take A Short Break From Such Landscapes And Try To Embroider More Colorful Landscapes
That's gorgeous! It is my dream to see the Northern Lights one day soon!
You can add more colours to the Aurora, for instance adding some bright green would give a nice contrast to the blue water.
Some beginners say they fear wasting materials or aren’t sure about buying quality yarn and threads. Chloe Giordano suggested that “If you're not intending to sell the embroidery I think there's nothing wrong with opting for cheaper materials, as you'll be less worried about making mistakes and 'ruining' supplies. I always recommend just diving in, experimenting with different styles, and accepting that you'll make mistakes along the way, I messed up a lot of embroideries before I got to the good ones!”

Embroidery year journals have been very popular for the last few years.

Awww the cat looks like my kitty that just passed away yesterday... he was 22 💛
This is a amazing. It truly looks like a coloured pencil illustration.
Michelle Staub had similar thoughts. “The great thing about embroidery is that you can use a wide range of different fabrics, thread, hoops, and needles and it can all work. However, there is a difference in quality between brands of thread. The most common brands are DMC, Anchor, and Cosmo. Other brands may fray as you work and may not be colorfast. In my opinion, it’s worth it to buy the name brand thread since the quality is the best and one skein of thread will last you some time.”

A Cat Portrait I Recently Embroidered. I Experimented With Dmc, Anchor, And Cosmo Threads For Fun
Looks just like my Bartleby, who died three years ago. Brings back happy memories of my big softie
Load More Replies...So realistic. It's as if touching the cat's fur, it would feel real.
“As far as needles, fabric, and hoops, it is all pretty similar. A generic multi-size pack of embroidery needles will last you some time. You can embroider on literally anything from cotton, linen, and felt, to even your clothing. And as long as your hoop can hold your fabric tight you’re good to go! You can find these items in craft stores or even secondhand thrift stores. My first-ever projects were stitched on an old canvas chair slipcover that I found at a thrift store and cut up,” she added, clarifying some details that could be useful for beginners.
My Original Idea! This Is My Niece's Drawing I Made Into A Framed Embroidery Piece For My Sister. I Framed It Myself. Let's See How Far This Makes It Before It's Deleted/Hidden Or Whatever Keeps Happening
I used my 4 year old niece's drawing to make a quilt panel. Isn't it a great keepsake? This is a great picture.😃
That is a gift your sister will treasure, and your niece will be so proud of her artwork saved for prosperity.
Love it! Would love to see some of my nieces and nephews hand work put into form like this. They are all over 35 years old now, and would make a great gift to them to share with their kids.
Love this. I did the same with some art my daughter's friends had made for her. Fun.

We also wanted to know if there were any specific mistakes or misconceptions they often encountered. Michelle Staub told us that “I think people are afraid to start learning embroidery because they’re worried their project won’t end up “perfect.” I will tell you that there are mistakes in every embroidery you see but only the stitcher will be able to tell you where they are! The only way you will be able to improve with embroidery is if you actually do it and practice. And the best way of learning is to just try it and learn from your mistakes as you go!”
My Mom Made This Decades Ago. It Has Hung In My Childhood Home As Long As I Can Remember, And I Only Recently Realized How Incredible It Actually Is
I would’ve loved something like this in my room. Sadly, I share with my brother…

My First Embroidery Is A Tiny Wooly Garden By The Brook
Seems you really like embroidery. Why don't you try it yourself? (ps it also helps relieve stress which I gather you might feel about your brother. Keeping vigilant in case he has a seizure. You're a sweet heart.
Load More Replies...Chloe Giordano focused on the mechanics of embroidery. “From a technical point of view, it's that beginners often don't tighten the fabric in the hoop properly - it should be completely taut like the skin of a drum.” Lastly, Michelle Staub wanted readers to take home this piece of advice: “I think it’s really easy to look at someone else’s embroidery and compare your work to theirs. It can be intimidating, especially if you’re just starting out! Just know that those people were once where you were.”

After 20+ Years Of Not Picking Up A Needle, I Decided To Try This Little Number From Etsy. 485,836,947,235 French Knots Later, It's Finished
I hope that number is an exaggeration
Load More Replies...At one knot per second, 24 hours a day, 485 billion knots would take over 15,000 years. This one is really impressive!
I can smell them, in my gorgeous Nanna's gorgeous garden. Fond memories 💖
Load More Replies...I'm my mind, I thought it was listing DMC numbers used. Took a moment to catch up to what I was reading. lol
I detest French knots. I prefer the Colonial knot instead, or if I can get away with it, beads.
We also asked the team at the Kitschy Stitcher about the importance of material quality and how much of a headache should it be to novice embroidery enthusiasts. "One of my favorite things about hand embroidery is that you don't need fancy supplies to get started! If you're just learning for yourself as a hobby, everything you need is at any local craft store. You can buy a hoop, fabric, and thread all for around $5."
"If you want to begin selling your work down the road, then you could invest in nicer quality embroidery hoops, etc. Any basic embroidery hoop, embroidery needle, and cotton fabric will do, though! As for the thread, I've always used DMC brand thread which is at all the major craft stores. I've even used the 97cent fat-quarter fabric samples from Walmart to create some beautifully stitched pieces. (Just remember to stay away from stretchy fabric because it can warp your embroidery design as it moves when you stitch onto it! I always go for either a sturdy Cotton or a Linen blend fabric.)" If you want to see more of their creations, you can find them on Instagram.

Embroidery Inspired By Stained Glass Art
Oh, I love it. some people say that abstract doesn't have soul, but I feel as if abstract is the art most closest to the soul, in all it's paradoxical, complicated simplicity. Your beautiful art confirms it!
I find the excessively boring abstract art to have no soul. The stuff that is basically a single circle and a line or similar. Maybe I'm just salty that they can sell for millions as just a few random objects but I can't even draw something worthy of selling. This kind of abstract art however is beautiful!

I‘M Pretty Sure Something Like This Was Here Before. I Hope You Enjoy Nonetheless!
It’s so weird. Why on earth are they expecting anyone to work for free? Would they assume their lawyer to work for free? Doctor? Plumber? Electrician? Babysitter? Bloody hairdresser, for christs sweet sake? It seems to me as if as soon as there is visuals involved, it’s suddenly something that should be done for free - paintings, illustrations, photoshoots, embroidery; what idiot told half of society that people who does any of those for a living doesn’t in fact need to eat or live anywhere? It’s lunacy!
Load More Replies...So true, they want something for nothing. Absolutely no appreciation for the talent and time it takes to hand make things. Especially embroidery and art projects. Know your worth and don't let ignorant people dictate it!

My mum, who passed away in January, was absolutely brilliant at embroidery.
When I had to go through her stuff, I found many I really liked. My dad is having one framed for me.
But what amazed me the most -- there was an embroidered piece in her collection that wasn't done by her... but by ME. Some 30 years ago. And she kept it all that time.
