If you grew up in a generation where you learned history through textbooks in school, you likely didn’t enjoy every single class, and that’s fine. Some days will be more of a drag than others.
That’s not the case with memes. They will usually involve humor, making learning much more enjoyable. It’s likely why subreddits like History Memes have 1.2 million followers, all keeping the page alive with relatable content that also involves absorbing the same information you will find in school books.
Here are some of the best ones from the page. As always, don’t forget to upvote your favorites!

Outside of memes, there are other ways to make learning history more interesting and enjoyable. Oakwood High School social science teacher Alex Brouhard suggests allowing students to be “investigators.” As he noted in an article for EdSurge, it’s a way to sustain interest.
An example he gave was having students investigate what happened in the two years between 1915 and 1917, including the sinking of the Lusitania during World War I.

Violence Is Not The Answer
It isn't the answer. It's the question, and the answer tends to be yes.
“My students not only learned the content but also developed critical thinking skills as they analyzed evidence, put together persuasive arguments, and respectfully debated their peers,” Brouhard wrote.
Brouhard further explained his process, stating that once the students discovered the information he tasked them to find, he assigned points of view between the Allies and Germany, sparking an insightful debate.
A Curious Detail
Lot had daughters, and Cains wife came from somewhere. I think her name was LUCY
Load More Replies...well now dont forget that according to the original texts, and by that i mean the original hebrew texts and jewish mythology, Eve was Adams second wife after Lilith fled the garden. i would imagine that she had descendents, either through adam or through another "demon" she raised during her flight from the garden. Christianity is very careful to pretend lilith never existed, but that nothing more than selective editing of the text in order to "prove" women are meant to be subservient to men.
The Bible required a dude to marry his dead brother's widow, so family values have evolved from the practices of them there days... at least in most places.
Load More Replies...There is no pleasant answer to this. Chapter one and the writer had already written himself into a corner...
The Bible was written, but not edited. If God hadn’t been too cheap to pay for some editors….
Load More Replies...Yeah and for the first couple of chapters of the bible they all live into their 700s...
This explains why the Old Testament is so ingrained in the culture of the American Bible Belt (Alabama, Tennessee, etc.).
Yes. And if a couple in Alabama divorce, are they still brother and sister?
Load More Replies...Three of their sons are named in the bible but it also says they had multiple other sons and daughters. I mean, it’s still incest, but…
I have written about this before. But in the Estonian language version the book literally tells that the from the inside of the (very obviously) male named person came out the next forefather and so on.. for generations and generations. It used to confuse the heck out of the 11 year old me.
don't forget the flood! only noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives, only 8 people were left to re populate the earth! that means all humans are from good old fashioned country cousin lovin! AND, there was most likely some brother/sister action going on due to lack of outside mates!
Because they've either been brought up in it and never questioned it enough, or they've chosen it because it offers comforting hope of life after death
Load More Replies...The authors of the Old Testament didn't understand genetic bottlenecks.
The book of Jubilees (though not included in the Bible as we know it today) says his wife was his sister. Which would be completely unsurprising. Inbreeding takes several generations to become obvious, and over these generations, the growing population would have allowed more options, instead of continuously marrying brothers/sisters and relations would eventually become more distant. Law against incest came much later, from Moses. Other retellings, such as 1st century CE pseudepigraphal texts, also suggest that Cain’s wife was his sister. There are texts that came centuries after the timeframe of Biblical events closed that suggest Adam had a first wife named Lilith, but these are not Biblical. Not even in the original Hebrew versions or the writings that never made it into the modern Bible. Lilith IS a figure in demonology.
Well, technically, Noah, because of the whole flood thing, but that’s still just a man, his wife, their three sons and their wives… 😉
Sure there were, they evolved from the common ape ancestor, while Adam and Eve were hallucinating in some isolated grove
Load More Replies...But don't you remember? After Adam and Eve were "evicted" from Eden, and went out into the cruel and hostile Real World, [Genesis 4:16-17] "Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. And Cain had relations with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Then Cain built a city and named it after his son Enoch" It the goes on to clarify (sort-of?) [Genesis 5:4] “And after he had become the father of Seth, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.” This indicates that Adam and Eve had multiple children, etc., etc., and so forth... (haven't you guys actually *read* the Bible? You should! It's quite er... "racy", in parts!)
And all genetically impossible after a couple of generations
Load More Replies...This sort of thing is amusingly referenced in Brothers Of Metal's song "Emblas Saga" (about the Norse creation myth) that goes "Burí somehow got a son, who somehow got a wife". 🤔
Genesis 5:4 states that after Seth's birth, Adam "had other sons and daughters". Of course, as mentioned below, that's not necessarily better, but it does answer some questions.
And one of them k****d his younger brother and then flied... So only one remaining! OMG!
This is simply wrong. I’m not sure why people’s ability to read declines so much when they pick up the Bible. The text says that Adam and Eve were the first people……….nowhere does it say that they were the *only* people.
But did they ONLY have 3 sons ? Perhaps daughters were born after the sons ? Anyway, they kept it in the family.
If you read the whole passage Adam and Eve lived several hundred years having sons and daughters the whole time.
They had way more than three sons ffs. They were so close to perfect that brothers and sisters having children was acceptable.
Well isn’t it’s good that that’s all bloody fiction then 😂cos by that theory 😂we everyone of us are inbred from monther n sons 😂bloody glad the bibles fiction now aint you lol
Genesis 5:4 specifically states that there were further sons and daughters after Cain, Abel and Seth. But humanity would still be massively inbred.
Perhaps we should actually read the Bible before commenting. We had Cain and Abel, and then Seth. But then we have Genesis 5: 3-4 ... [3] And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth. [4] And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: ... So there were daughters. But it's still massively inbred.
Why only thinking top down? Here is a bottom up way of thinking about this. And it's not even about religion, just math. You have 2 parents, who each have 2 parents. Who each have 2 parents. Etc.. 1 generation back (parents): 2 ancestors 2 generations back (grandparents): 4 ancestors 10 generations back (around the year 1700s): 1,024 ancestors 20 generations back (around the 1400s): 1,048,576 ancestors 30 generations back (around 1100s): Over 1 billion ancestors (more people than were alive globally at the time) 40 generations back (around 800s): Over 1 trillion theoretical ancestors This math combined with the max number of people on the planet at any time in the past, only works when you count the same person multiple times people or have "overlap". Think about that.
TheBible states in Genesis that Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters
So? No matter how many children you have, incest is still incest and inbreeding is a dead end
Load More Replies...Yeah it just NOT what the bible says. It's still a terrible, twisted and creepy fairy tale but if you want to make fun of something check your facts first

Renowned historical figures are human beings, too. They have personal lives outside their accomplishments and the causes they fought for, something worth exploring as well.

Focusing on individual stories is another strategy that Brouhard applies with his students. As he noted, crime shows, for example, appeal to people not just because of the suspense but also for the emotional connection.
“These elements resonate with my sense of empathy, compelling me to form an emotional connection with the show,” he wrote.

What women in her right mind would want to follow a religion that doesn’t even find it important enough to include them in the CREATION STORY. And the sole woman who is included is blamed for the downfall of mankind and only has existence because she’s made out of the rib of a man. I’m sorry I know we all know this is absurd, but even more so is the idea that so many believe this idiocy.
