As the days get darker, it’s easier and easier to slide into a gloom-and-doom mindset, particularly if you spend too much time online. So it can be helpful to explore some of the good things in life as a reminder that not everything is bad.
The “Heartwarming Stories” Facebook page is dedicated to wholesome, cute and just happy posts. We also got in touch with Charles de Vilmorin, CEO and Co-founder of “Old People Are Cool,” an advocacy group for the elderly to learn more. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorites and be sure to comment your thoughts below.

"This is my step-dad and I. I'm German, and my mother married him when I was 4 years old. He was only 18. He raised me better than my own mother or father did, even through a nasty divorce where he was cheated on by her. Even with all the racism and stereotypes I heard when we were out together, he didn't let it faze him and proudly proclaimed me as his daughter. Thankfully he is still there for me when I need him"
I'm always fascinated by what people do with their hands in pictures, especially pictures of more than one person. The way they're holding hands😭😭 her little hand wrapped in his😭😭😭
I hadn't noticed that until I saw your comment, and I'm so glad you pointed it out. Their hands are so sweet!

"I have a confession to make. I would not know Jon Bor Jovi if he walked in this building. I cannot name a single song he has ever recorded. It's not that I don't like him or his music, I have just never really been exposed to it. This superstar is washing dishes at one of his JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurants that feed the homeless. They're still cooking. Still making food for those in need during these uncertain times. And instead of disappearing to wait out the pandemic in a fancy penthouse somewhere, Jon Bon Jovi is showing up to be a dishwasher. Now THAT's what it means to be a rock star."
Thank you for posting this. In my experience, the celebrities who do the most good are often the ones you don't hear about doing good, and who won't even tell you they are doing good. The ones who crow about how compassionate and charitable they are often accomplish the least.
I wish he could adopt or foster me & I'm over 50. Just really going through hardship.
I don't know Lamont Thomas, but what I do know is that he has mastered styling young Black girls' hair, a feat many a father has been defeated by.
Man is amazing I wouldn't know what to do with 1 kid let alone 5.
People like him make the Humanity great. They are not exclusively USans and they do not exclusively make America great.
Bored Panda got in touch with Charles de Vilmorin, CEO and Co-founder of “Old People Are Cool,” an organization dedicated to changing the way people see the elderly. First and foremost, we wanted to hear if there was a story behind him creating the group.
“Yes! I was meeting with a professor in New Hampshire and saw these 4 words graffiti on a wall; driving back I thought I had seen something awesome that day. I printed stickers and handed them out at a Senior Living trade show where we were exhibiting. People were rushing to get them and we started having amazing conversations. This has then led to the start of the Old People Are Cool campaign to fight ageism.”
Indiana construction worker Jason Haney hid a giant "Where's Waldo" cutout all over his work site for the children in a nearby hospital to find. Once he received word that they'd found him, he moved Waldo to a new location so they could start looking for him again.
Wow. What a great guy. We need more of him and his thoughts for others
So sweet of him ❤️ Also anyone else think he looks like Liev Schreiber?
I love the back story. He did it because when his daughter was younger she had a brain tumor. She wasn't expected to be able to walk and or go to regular school. She made a full recovery, even graduating college with honors. They spent a lot of time in the hospital, just looking out windows. When he found out he was going to be working on a new wing for Memorial Childrens hospital in South Bend, Indiana in 2016, he'd see the kids looking out the windows and came up with his variation on the "Where's Waldo" game.
"Anthony Borges who used his body to hola his class door shut from a gunman, protecting his 20 classmates whilst being shot through the door five times. Fortunately he survived and has made a complete recovery"
Absolute hero, but the reason is dystopian. No child should ever have access to guns like that. Do better, USA.
I saw this on facebook recently. As an outside observer of the US, it's so hard to understand how they can let it keep happening. 458726283_...nsored.jpg
Amazing young man, in an unbearable situation! He made a full physical recovery.. but he and all his classmates will be mentally scarred for life. Please acknowledge that. This should not be our world.
My husband just read to me that in 2022 campaign cycle Republicans received $644,000 from the NRA. Democrats zero. Guess who is holding the bag and keeps our country hostage to guns.
Yup...till the Republicans value the life of their children over money this will keep happening
Load More Replies...I applaud this absolute hero of human kindness and selflessness, but also mourn the fact that this world (in 'Murica, at least) is a place where such nightmares regularly take place 😞 I hope Anthony only has a life of goodness from here on out. Nobody should have to endure what he or his classmates did 💔
Not a "complete" recovery. He's still very much affected by both his physical and psychological injuries and will never be free of them.
Right. I looked for stories of his recovery. As of 2019 he still had no feeling in one foot, a foot which the docs nearly amputated. He has to take vitamin shots for life; so much intestine was destroyed and removed that his body can't process the food well enough for that. At the time Anthony was schooled at home. He did hang out with a few friends from the school and had a new girlfriend. His dad said the family was going to move, even to another country. I hope they're all settled.
Load More Replies...Parents listen to their son's transplanted heart beat in the chest of the recipient of his gift. There is only one race. The human race.
I recently received a heart, and hope to be in contact with the donor family. I have written them a letter, and am hopeful of a response. If you can, please Register as an organ donor. You cannot believe the value of your gift.
Don, that's wonderful; I hope you are able to get in contact with your donor's family. I have been an organ donor since the moment I got my driver's license when I was 16, in 1998. I can only hope that I am in good condition (however I may die) to be able to donate at least one organ when I die.
Load More Replies...A couple who are family friends of ours recently lost their 9 year old son and one of the only things keeping them going is knowing that his organs are now giving life to others. He was so in love with nature and our beautiful world. God bless all the grieving parents and may they find glimmers of comfort where they can.
Now I really more over their little boy. So sorry they lost him, they have given others and incredible gift and I hope they get to meet them if that's what they want.
Load More Replies...Why the f**k make this about race? I think by now we're all fully aware that not everyone is racist. You don't need to harp on that in every picture that shows people of different "races" acting like human beings. Also, it's not even factually correct. There really is no race at all, because race can not be fully defined and has no backing in reality. (Scientists tried really hard to separate humans by race and found that they couldn't.) We are, however, all one SPECIES, and have only the slightest genetic variance among all of us.
Naturally, we were then interested to learn more about ageism and general misconceptions about the elderly. So we asked Charles to give some examples of what many people misunderstand or get wrong about older folks. For example “They aren't happy, it's the reverse, see the happiness curve,” he suggested.
This goose used her wings to protect an abandoned puppy from the cold. The puppy was shivering so she folded her wings around this baby & moved him closer to her so he could benefit from her body warmth. Puppy stopped shivering & went to sleep
Yes we do. We just are obligated to treat them with care.

So someone was there watching the puppy shiver, then stop shivering and go to sleep?
Or he's just a wonderful person. Bad parents produce good kids and vice versa.

That’s very true. I bet she doesn’t hold back on her stories, doesn’t see race, just states facts and probably one hell of a life and that kid likely finds it fascinating.

Load More Replies...This refers to the idea that, for most people, their 40s tend to be their most unhappy years, while joy actually increases as the person gets older. This doesn’t necessarily mean an actually higher quality of life, just the self-perception of happiness. You can think of it as a U-shaped curve, with high happiness at the start and at the end.
A man named Dale Schroeder grew up poor in lowa, never married, had no children, and worked as a carpenter at the same company for 67 years and only owned two jeans. He spent his life savings to send 33 students to college. Today, the 33 strangers have formed a group and call themselves "Dale's kids." People like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos could do this, WITHOUT EVER IMPACTING THEIR OWN QUALITY OF LIFE, yet choose to be selfish and greedy.
As much as people dislike Elon, and likely have reasons for their dislike, he does far, far more for people than Bezos ever has. I'm not a huge Musk fan myself, but I do give credit where do, despite that. Elon does more for general humanity than any other billionaire in the world as well-not just through his foundation, but aside from it as well. The foundation helps pediatric research in multiple fields, provides proper water filtration to schools (especially in areas with contaminated water), provides tech to schools that have none, etc. Bezos does absolutely nothing at all and in fact promotes treating people like garbage, like accessories, like objects, on a daily basis. Him stepping down as CEO didn't change a lick of how he views and treats other people. Hell the grants his "fund" gives out, doesn't even come from a foundation, or Bezos personal money, it comes from other donors. At least Musk puts his money where his mouth is.

Other misconceptions Charles shared: “They have great physical and cognitive decline - While some physical and cognitive changes are normal with aging, many older adults remain physically active and mentally sharp well into their later years. They are not resistant to change.”
Borderline personality disorder is very real and very misunderstood. People with BPD can live productive, normal, healthy lives. They aren't crazy, just dealing with a mental illness. We need to get over the stigma with mental health already.
I think the way it's portrayed in tv/movies has a lot to do with it, but is also the way the stigma could be altered if they made changes.
Load More Replies...As I got better I vowed myself to show the world that you can be a good human being even with BPD. I reconciled with my family and helped them to get better, I try to give everyone a smile or a nice word and now work as personal assistant for elderly people so they can stay at home and do what they always liked to do. And yeah, I take care of 4 cats that live on my family's property and were pretty malnourished (I'm not a cat person, but they deserve proper care) The stigma around this illness is insane.
I also have been working on negating the stigma of BPD. Best compliment I've ever received is that I have calming energy :D

That's a big deal, congratulations on recognizing your behavior and managing it so you don't hurt people. Thats such a hard thing to do.

A number of years ago my grandma, who was in her 80's and my mom were going down an escalator at the mall. My mom was standing behind Grandma and saw her start to fall forward but couldn't reach her stop the fall and could only think to yell HELP! A tall, built like a football player, young man turned around in just enough time to reach out and catch my grandma, saving her life most likely and saving my mom and others nearby from having to witness a horrible accident. My grandma passed away, peacefully 10 years later at the age of 97 from natural cause. I still think about that man who saved her and hope his life has been blessed with love and happiness 💕

They were worried because they hadn’t seen their cat since it had happened. While they were being broadcast live, the cat crawled out of the pile and started complaining. Probably demanding to know why they’d missed feeding time for a week.
There was one that always got me on a live newscast interview of an elderly woman whose home got destroyed by a tornado in Oklahoma City. She mentioned that she lost her little dog. I used to cosplay as Darth Vader for a lot of conventions, as well as hospital visits. The reactions you get from kids in that costume are always one of two things: they're either terrified, or extremely excited.
As a cosplayer, I've often considered joining one of the groups that visit kids hospitals and the like. But one of the rules of them is that you can't cry, and I don't think I could manage it.
Is there a superhero that cries though? Could be your niche

So we also asked him to detail some of the impacts of discriminating against the elderly. “Ageism, which involves discrimination or prejudice against individuals based on their age, poses several problems: a negative Impact on health - negative age belief is known to reduce health span by 7.5 years. It can lead to employment discrimination, healthcare inequities, social isolation and a negative self-perception.”
Private Kevin Elliot was k**led fighting in Afghanistan. His friend Barry and him made a promise that if one of them died, they'd wear a bright green dress to the other ones' funeral. Barry stayed true to that promise
Now that is a real man. It may have been a drunken joke, or just kidding each other. But he stayed true to his word.
'Killed', BP. It's a word, found in the dictionary. It is real. Stop censoring. K I L L E hecking D. There's no place for censorship in a free society.

Load More Replies...I've seen this one before, but with a different picture. Nice to see it from another angle, and with the friend so clearly in grief.
As cool as it is that he kept his promise, I wouldn't exactly call the image of a man sobbing at his friend's grave 'heartwarming'...
Why not? It shows that a friendship and promises made can be kept, no matter how silly the promise, no matter how tragic the loss of the friendship. It shows that a man doesn't always have to be ~manly~ and can wear a bright green dress and sob at his friend's burial service. It IS heartwarming. Barry kept his promise to Kevin. It is also heartbreaking, but the two are not mutually exclusive. Something that is heartbreaking can be simultaneously heartwarming, as well.

So we wanted to know in his opinion what made people special. “TBH, I think this question is ageist - I think old people are not special, they're just old which is a great thing. If there is ONE criticism of the Old People Are Cool message is that it implies that old people are cooler than others which is not the case. Meanwhile, the USA is spending trillions of dollars to lose wars all over the world instead of funding healthcare.
Only in the US would this be seen as "heartwarming". To the rest of the world it reads like horror.
Not a feel-good story. Just another example of America's failure as a nation.
Good for kids. What i am surprised about is how this did not introduce the USA population to guillotines already. Is that too radical?
The income disparity between rich and poor in USA is greater now than in France just before the Revolution. But, as Fox news pounts out, 97% have fridges, so they arent poor ( bs) . They may have fridges, but doent mean there is anything in them.

Sean Misner, one of the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in Arizona, on his way home. Trucks were on every overpass from Arizona to the Santa Ynez Valley, with firefighters saluting as Misner's wife drove by with his ashes.
My heroes have never been athletes, or actors, or musicians. My heroes are the nameless firefighter that suppresses his own self preservation instinct and runs into the burning building to rescue a child. It is the unknown police officer that protects the pregnant woman from a criminal at the risk of his own life. It is the 19 year old wearing camo and dog tags that protect us all from the evils of the world. These people should be honored and revered for their selflessness and valor.
This brings tears to my eyes. Talk about honouring lost brothers and sisters.
That's it, I'm gone. In floods of respectful tears for these brave people.
Amazing also I wouldn't be able to do this with how terrified I am of heights.
Since 2007, when a Canadian soldier is killed, he or she is repatriated at Trenton, ON and then taken to the provincial coroner’s office in Toronto. The highway between, a section of Hwy 401, is called the Highway of Heroes. All along the 170 km stretch, people line the overpasses and the sides of the highway to show their support. Some hang enormous flags from the overpasses, police and firefighters salute, ordinary citizens bow their heads as the hearse passes. It’s truly something to witness. "My son has very little experience with babies but wanted to keep trying ways to get her to stop crying. Surprised at the silence I returned to the room to see him bouncing gently on an exercise ball, totally pleased with himself"
I was born in 1960, long before baby monitors were even thought of. I had four older brothers (between 9 and 18 years older than me). We lived in a big old farmhouse, and when all us kids were upstairs in bed at night, and my parents were downstairs watching TV in the rec room, they couldn’t hear me cry or fuss until they went upstairs to bed themselves. So who was left to comfort and walk with me, or sit in the rocking chair holding me during those hours, even changing my—-cloth—-diapers (and putting fresh clothes on me if the diaper leaked) and cleaning me up if I was crying from being wet? My older brothers. They all turned out to be wonderful fathers, after getting all that experience. So I know for a fact that this little boy is now going to grow up and be an absolutely wonderful father too.
In case anyone might think I'm on to what the problem is with the baby, it could be gas. I had one who constantly needed to be patted (face down on your lap). I discovered fastening him in his car seat on top of running dryer (1st choice) or washer did the trick. That and taking him for a car ride, of course. Anyway, I've actually never heard or seen this cure and it's super helpful. Please share.
It doesn't matter how strong & confident you may appear on the outside. Some days you just need your Pooh Bear
This reminds me of a friend's dog (I'm terrible with breeds, but it's larger than this and not a great dane) who often carries around a support toy. Favourite is Elmo, though I think she is on at least number 3, because she does accidentally destroy them when anxious.
One of my cats has a support reindeer. She gets sad sometimes if one of us isn't home. She'll cry and carry the reindeer and stand by the garage door, waiting. She will walk around with at night too because she doesn't like that we all went to bed.

Maybe he can apply to be a firefighter and have the whole dream every day. He looks fit, and they need all sizes of people, not just the huge linebacker type—-who can’t get into a smaller space to look for people and animals to rescue—-so he’d fit right in. Hell, Steve Busciemi isn’t a 6’5’ behemoth, and he was a firefighter in NYC for years before his acting career took off.
We often have firetrucks (usually from the volunteer fire department) at Christmas parties and agricultural shows in Australia so people (mostly children) can sit in one. Also, Santa often comes to Christmas parties, or throws lollies out for children on the streets on Christmas Eve, on a firetruck!
Firefighters are some of the best people in the world. It takes a special kind of crazy to throw yourself directly at a fire with the sole purpose of helping other people. The best kind of crazy; the kind that makes heroes.
"My grandpa when he turned 100, look at his birthday cards!"
In the UK (and rest of the Commonwealth?) you can get a card from the reigning monarch when you turn 100 and every five years after that. My partner's great-grandma has a 100th birthday card from the late Queen and a 105th birthday card from the King!
He looks a great character. His family are lucky to have this special gentleman!
Sad shelter dog whose only friend was this elephant toy learns that he and his toy are getting new home
Our last hound Max brought his cuddly sausage toy with him. Wouldn't leave it alone for weeks. That's when we knew he'd settled
When I adopted my pibbles she came with a piggy toy that she ripped apart from anxiety of being somewhere new, the joy I had when I found the same pig at Walmart for her...she loved but it also ended up in toy graveyard lol
Ten years later?!?! Wow that guy almost aged backwards. Well wishes to y'all .
I've seen the first pic so many times (and it's always a serotonin boost!) but this is the first time I've seen the "10 years later" pic, now I'm more happy!
There is the cutest YouTube vid from the perspective of a man walking around and everybody has these enormous grins on their faces while they pass by. At the end he moves the camera to reveal he's walking around with his baby in a front carrier and that's who everyone has been grinning it. It's very adorable and it's quite beautiful to see how a baby can inspire such huge smiles.
Awesome! Where on earth did you find a rotating ankle? I wish mine had one, and it’s brand new!
This happened here in Houston. One of the charges against him was dropped and by the time he made it to sentencing they gave him time served and let him go. What he did was extreme obviously, but he was right when he says the hospital was moving too fast and making decisions without the input of his family (they were even already notifying transplant patients that they had his son's organs lined up for them before they even started the process of removing him from life support). My heart goes out to this man for what he must have been going through emotionally at that time.
That's not just s****y for father and son, but also for the people waiting for transplants getting demoralized. Sounds like a bad hospital overall.

I've lost a son, Adam was 30 at the time and far from home...but IF I'D HAD THIS CHANCE I would have done the same !!! I would have done ANYTHING to save my boy !!! The loss is wayyyyy soooo painful !!!!
Good dad. Somebody had to give permission. Just shows what a little love and a pistol can do
In Toronto they don't need family's consent st all to remove life support. It's incredibly cruel. Doctors are wrong all the time but it's all about clearing a bed and harvesting organs
Extremely talented. I'd like to join for your next thanksgiving.
That young man will definitely not be living off of fast food and ramen when he becomes an adult.
14... That really does say 14 This kid can cook for me any time he wants to. It looks so dang good!!! Looks like a chef in the making. Look at the grin on his face! Somebody has taught him well unless he learned on his own.

I understand. <3 My dad had his accident on Thankgiving Day and died on Mother's Day (21 years later.) My mom has refused to celebrate Thanksgiving since my dad's accident and she won't let us do anything for her on Mother's Day either now. I hope your wife has been able to find a measure of peace.

That's Mom, coming to visit. Absolutely. I don't even believe in Heaven or souls. But that's 100% OP's mom visiting. Just taking a peek, making sure her little caterpillar is doing all right :)
I lost my mom very suddenly 15 months ago, and since then I've been seeing cardinals far more often than I ever have before - in her garden, in my backyard, outside her favourite art gallery on the anniversary of her death. The first one was actually a postage stamp with a cardinal motif that I found on her kitchen floor the night she died. In our Indigenous tradition (on my dad's side; Mom was a passionate ally), "redbirds" are regarded as messengers from our ancestors. Whenever I see one I whisper, "Hi, Mom."

One day he hit the jackpot as about 20 of them flew all around us. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Every single time we visited my Mum out of town, the journey officially began when a hawk flew over our heads. My guy's been gone since last year. There don't seem to be as many hawks around, but I always smile and say, "Hi, George!", when I see one.
I had a neighbor named Gus who would raise butterflies. He had plants that they liked to frequent, a nice little operation. He particularly liked Monarchs, so there were always several of them around the neighborhood. He died in his nineties several years ago, but whenever I see a Monarch, or a butterfly in general, I think of him.
Please accept my deepest condolences. It is your dear Mom's spirit that came back as a yellow butterfly. My Mom passed on April 20th of this year (2024). My Dad passed away on January 10, 2015.
Thousands of people attended a barbecue in front of the home of a vegan Australian woman who took her neighbors to court over the smell of meat cooking in their own backyard
It's fine if you're vegan or vegetarian, just don't force it on others and don't be an åsshole.
Completely agree! We used to have a vegan roommate for about 3 years, I don't care what people eat but this guy would walk by our neighbors' windows while they were cooking spaghetti and loudly exclaim (by their open window) "THAT SMELLS FÜCKING DISGUSTING!" and the boyfriend and I would be like "stfu!!!?!"... It was always so awkward. He instilled in us a fear of consuming anything non-vegan. We used to hide a box of cheez-its in the closet. Even now when he comes to meet us for lunch I feel a shame eating anything not-vegan 😅 ETA he now lives up north a couple hours away, and dear bf and I have our own house, but the anxiety runs so deep I can't even eat anything non-vegan in our own house when he's here .-. don't be a jerk vegan!

If they were smoking cigarettes in their own yard/home........still petty.

Sadly, I've had jobs where I'd get written up for doing this kind of thing, instead of either finding busy work (i.e. cleaning things that are already clean), or staring at a blank white wall. Some jobs want you moving every second of your day for 8 hours straight, or if not, standing at attention just waiting with anticipation for the next task. God forbid you catch your breath for a second, or find anything NOT work related to pass the long, empty hours. Thank God I work in a fantastic place now!
I know getting inked isn’t for everybody but I would absolutely get that as a tattoo. Edited for clarity… I mean exactly like this, similar to the one above that the guys daughter did before she passed.
"You guys... THIS IS MY DAD. He drove to my workplace and waited on me to arrive so he could pour a trail of salt from my vehicle to the front door of my building so that I, his 38 year old daughter, wouldn't slip and fall on the ice... My heart y'all... Love you daddy"

This is so sweet. So often you only hear about people fighting over their pets when they break up. Well done to both of you for being mature & responsible enough to put your (fur)child first 👍🐕❤️
I am friends with all my exes except two. The first is because she wanted to get back together with me, but I told her sorry but I was married (which I was), so she just stopped contacting me. We had broken up because I had to move to the US for work and she had to stay because she had shared custody of her daughter. The second is my ex wife and she just doesn't like me as a person. That relationship ended so badly and suddenly that I've taken a vow to stay away from dating ever again. But I visit with my other exes, have their families visit me. One ex has invited me to family reunions, and I'm still close with her whole family. I'm also close with my brothers' exes. For me, love doesn't end because a relationship does. It just changes.

That must have been so hard, it's not easy losing any amount of weight, that must have taken a lot of determination
Why is this downvoted? Sorry if there's an actual reason, I just thought it seems odd that someone would be downvoted for what/who makes them happy.

Most of the REAL heroes, the unsung ones no one thinks about, go to work, work hard, support their families, stay out of trouble, try to save every penny they can for the future, love their spouses, love their kids, get along with just about everyone, and are loved and cared for in return. They’re the ones who, when done mowing their own lawn, takes their mower over to the lawn of the old person a couple houses down, and mows their yard too, without being asked or paid. Because they’re genuinely good people. They don’t cheat on their spouses, their taxes, their work, they don’t hurt their spouses, their kids, or anyone they come in contact with, they just try really hard do all the right things. Sometimes what they think the right thing is doesn’t turn out to be, but their intentions were still good, and at least they tried. Those are the heroes we need to recognize and appreciate.

All heroes do indeed wear capes. Sometimes, the cape may be a fire blanket to help put out fires, the blankets or sheets said hero gives a homeless person or in this case, the scrubs a surgeon and his assistant put on to save lives. The capes are there, some heroes have just given theirs for the greater good already or are still wearing them while in action but we don't realize it.
But... it's his profession. It's his job. I mean, it's an absolutely amazingly wonderful thing that there are people who can do what he does, but to me, that doesn't make it heroic.
2 surgeons after successfully removing a set of brain tumors during a 32 hour surgery.
So how does that work? Do people take breaks? Because I sure as heck wouldn’t was ME working on me after 10 hours straight, let alone 32! 😳
I would think, if it’s a team of doctors who are all equally skilled, that they do it in shifts while their partner gets some sleep. When one gets too tired to feel confident they won’t miss anything or have an unsteady hand, their partner can step in, be briefed on where they are in the surgery, and anything to be on the lookout for, so they’re up to speed and ready to jump in. Think about how shaky your hands get when you’re tired, and how exhausted your brain can be when you’re practically falling asleep standing up. Now imagine trying to do intricate brain surgery in that shape. Surgery where any misstep could either handicap the patient, make them a vegetable, or outright kill them. Having a partner who can jump in fresh is a good surgical plan. Now, I’m not a doctor, I’m just trying to break it down and reason out what would be a good plan. So if this isn’t how long surgeries are planned and executed, please let me know. I’m always happy to learn the real deal.

Should drs be wearing sandals with no socks on in an operating room?
This could have taken place in a country where surgical footwear isn't restricted. But is the surgeon's sandals your only takeaway? I doubt they touched the patient or the incision site with their feet.

A few years ago, I had surgery and was on crutches. I went to a DD for coffee. A group of teenagers were inside sitting at a table and 1 got up to open the door for me and then carried my coffee to my car. I know a lot of people say kids today are ... But in my experience (I'm also disabled and have mobility issues), there are so many teens who are so kind and helpful. Kids (10-20) have helped me carry or move things at the beach, at stores, pretty much everywhere - kids of every color and economic background are so amazing. I don't expect it or take it for granted, but as a result, I have a lot of faith for our future in their hands.
Strongly agree!!!!!! I can't stand generations ripping on each other - our younger generations are full of wonderful people, as are our older generations!
