Load More Replies...This hair cut has changed his whole face. In the upper his forehead looks far larger then his chin. Now he looks more symmetrical!
I was going to say the same thing: WOW what a difference a haircut has made 😍
Load More Replies...Well, no glasses and smiling instead of frowning... And he needs to be told beige doesn't suit him. Try black, blue or navy.
I think rectangular frames would suit his face better. And he does look super happy :D
Load More Replies...Gosh! Why are you all so negative and cruel? Allow the man to be proud of his fantastic transformation.
Hairdresser Otsuki has a very significant following on social media. At the time of writing, he had 84k fans on Instagram, as well as a further 136.7k supporters over on Twitter. It is easy to see why people like the professional’s content so much.
His videos show dramatic transformations, and Otsuki contrasts what the clients looked like before, followed by a dramatic cut to how they look afterwards. The haircuts are very stylish. And it is very clear that the expert loves his job.

Load More Replies...Actually think he looks like Hiroyuki Sanada...
Load More Replies...I've, never read such a bunch of negative, b****y, people! I bet you're all so perfect!
During a previous interview with Bored Panda, he said: “I just want to make everyone look cool.”
"I suggest a look based on the client's facial shape or just how he seems as a person, I like to try to match the atmosphere,” the pro said.
but i love it, i think he is just looking for now...
Load More Replies...I think the photo captures the moment that he is examining the new hairstyle. I don't think he really looks unhappy. Also, I think it looks great.
Anyone can cut hair. But far from everyone can cut hair well. The very best professionals take your facial features and personal style into account, to create an ensemble that brings out your best features.
A great hairstylist will combine their own personal knowledge and skills, combining them with their clients’ requests. And the very best reward is a happy customer. You can tell that you’ve done a fantastic job if they return to your salon later on.
I don’t understand why you are getting downvoted- People s.t.o.p.
Load More Replies...No idea why but the soft smile wrinkles around his eyes make me happy
Seriously? They're Japanese. Stoicism is deeply ingrained in their culture, especially in their older generations like this gentleman. He doesn't have to grin like a baboon for others to know he's pleased with the new haircut. In fact, he doesn't even HAVE to be pleased with the new haircut. Maybe he doesn't like it. As an aside, I look at the slight crinkling around his eyes, and the slight tensing of the lips/surrounding muscles, coupled with the upcurve to the mouth - his expression DID change, quite a bit.
Load More Replies...Otsuki’s salon, ‘DIECE Shibuya,’ is based in one of the world’s busiest metropolitan areas, Shibuya.
The salon is located a mere 3 minutes walk on foot from Shibuya station’s B3 exit. According to their website, same-day reservations are perfectly fine.
i saw the mirror behind him and I thought his new haircut was just a perfect angle
His hair is very coarse, so when you move the part, you get the big bump-up next to it for about a week. The hair relaxes....
Load More Replies...The vast majority of the clients who go to the hair salon for transformations are male (92%) while only a slim minority are female (8%). However, every single customer is given the highest quality care, no matter their gender or age.
Mans f****g chopping glasses off on the regular. Poor b*****s cant tell whether theyve got a bad wig or not now 😂
If that mole wasn’t there I would’ve been convinced these were different people. Of different genders.
Isn't this the guy in pic #5? This before pic must be the previous haircut all grown out.
How does the person get that waviness in it after they leave the salon?[Just scrunch it?] Or, is it just natural 'body' that the person usually combs away to straightness?
Currently, there are 5 stylists and 6 assistants working on the premises. They’re also closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind as you plan your next haircut. Meanwhile, if you’d like to surprise a friend or a loved one with a quality cut, the salon’s website has digital coupons available.
Wow... this one is definitely a massive difference - the person's head has an actual... you know... shape. A Diglet no longer!
Wow, what a change! Personally I think he is very handsome with the new look. The old one… not so much
Previously, Bored Panda tackled the topics of style, cutting hair, and finding the line between fashion and fashion mistakes during an interview with Guiliano Dore, from ‘Get Groomed,’ in the UK.
"The main difference between avant-garde and plain bad for a haircut is the focus on details and the whole idea behind the haircut. You would think that haircuts like the bowl cut are never gonna be trendy. Wrong. It’s happening and thanks to extremely talented hairstylists, we see a lot of hipsters rocking a very fashionable bowl. It’s all about pattern, symmetry, and (sometimes) controlled asymmetry. If I see patchy haircuts, holes or broken hairlines, I am gonna assume the worst," he told us earlier
Some of these are hard to compare because the lack of glasses adds another variable that has nothing to do with the haircut.
I think its just that they take off their glasses cos it might get in the way of the haircut...
Load More Replies...We can't really see the before because he's already got clips in his hair...
Load More Replies...This guy has beautiful eyes that I hadn't even notived before the haircut.
Really opens up his face and you can see his great bone structure and wonderful eyes!
"If you want to cut your own hair at home, go with a safe option. Same-level buzz cuts are a safe choice. Home is not the place for challenging haircuts. For example, attempting a 0 to 2 high skin fade by yourself is not gonna work. Even professional barbers don’t do it themselves. I know this because they book each other on our app," Giuliano, from ‘Get Groomed,’ told Bored Panda earlier about cutting your hair at home. It’s usually best to reach out to a professional for their services.
This kid is great at chopping wigs but you wear glasses he go shove em up ur a*s
"Being able to cut just based on the reflection of a mirror takes a whole new level of 4D chess and not everyone is ready for the challenge. I would also avoid sharp tools like razor blades. It’s absolutely possible to rock a very decent hairline without using razor blades at home. Clippers are your friends,” the Brit shared his thoughts on cutting hair with us earlier.
but... his hair is wet in the first one? why wet his hair for the pic?
Hair is usually washed or sprayed with water prior to cutting for more precise cutting
Load More Replies...That is a GOOD dye job though - I mean... it's HARD to get dark hair (Asian hair... you know... we go orange instead of blonde... and then our hair falls off? yeah... it's ...not easy) so evenly light coloured.
I noticed that right away. Maybe that is a favorite color? I think he will know more once he changes his shirt to a different color, so you can see the contrast.

What did you think of Tokyo hairdresser Otsuki's work, dear Pandas? Which looks impressed you the most? Would you feel comfortable letting him give you a complete makeover? If you're living in Tokyo, have you ever been to his salon? Tell us what you think in the comments. We can't wait to read what you have to say.
They need to start putting the glasses back on in the after photo
A recurring theme seems to be he likes to find people using hair to hide their faces and expose their face more. They usually do look better but he also uses some techniques similar to when the before diet picture pushes out the gut and the after diet photo sucks it in. It isn't all things in all photos but repeating themes between before and after photos seems to include 1. Don't smile / smile. 2. Don't look into the camera / look into the camera. 3. Wear y our glasses / remove your glasses.
That was my thought. Some of the other before pics have similar hair as this after pic. Why didn't it work for those people, but it supposedly does here?
Load More Replies...Ok so what's the difference between the messy hair look on this guy and the messy hair look on some of the before pics of other people that wasn't "good"?
Is he giving them all the same cut and style (most of them)? I wish I could see this after picture from the front, he has a great jaw line
From someone that does hair, sure looks similar person to person. You could get a lot more creative with some of this extra length
Load More Replies...I’m getting a feeling they are badly perming some of these peoples hair 😳
I mean the shirt is literally different also, but yes kudos on noticing the more subtle facial hair difference lol
Load More Replies...Why wouldn't they be..? Some people show more gums when smiling.
Load More Replies...I think he looks pretty good, and he seems happy with the result.
Load More Replies...I think I might like the before one better, or maybe it’s just the camera angle is more flattering in the first one
Agreed, I think he looks pretty good in the first one
Load More Replies...His after cut looks like so many before shots in so many of the above pictures
He has great hair in the before pic, not sure this is the cut I’d choose for him
Some trimming was all that was needed, imho. The framed his handsome face beautifully.
Load More Replies...I wish I could get a hairstylist who would just listen to me. I know what I want but they always "suggest" things that ruin the look. Or I tell them "shorter. Shorter. SHORTER", but it's never short enough because I'm a woman and I "should" have longer hair, even in a short hairstyle. Buzz it. I told you, showed you a photo, now do it please! Don't be worried I won't like it, because when you worry and change it because of that I never do anyway.
Some of these are really incredible. I'd love to just let a professional hairdresser loose on my hair, but I'm too afraid that I'd hate it and it wouldn't fit my personality and who I am at all
Going through them, it looks like the hairdresser only knows how to cut hair two different ways.
So I think the moral of the story here is not everyone can pull off blunt bangs.
So a pudding blunt cut must be the usual way for Japanese hair. And the hairdresser knows 2 styles. Some improvements in the pics.
