A lot of my coworkers think it’s ok to clip their nails at their desk. Now I live in fear of a finger nail landing in my coffee and I can’t stand the sound of nail clippers.

I've only experienced this once and that guy did A LOT of culturally inappropriate s**t at his desk. Finger and toenails. He also ran his personal business from his desk all day and our useless management failed to notice. When he retired they did not replace his position and we were fine.

During the pandemic I was walking behind a woman (masks were mandatory here) in a mall. She literally removed her mask from her face, sneezed into the open, and put it back on. Eeeew. I dodged, but probably got some particles. Luckily my own mask was secure.

I hate this. Standing so close to me that you're nearly up my backside is not going to make me go any faster. What's worse is that i have hearing difficulties and can't hear anything that's behind me so I'm not always aware of it until they practically shove me out of the way. Personal space.

I rely mostly on texting, but when I do get a call I can't ignore I genuinely can't hear anything if I put the phone up to my ear - there's a sweet spot of about 1mm where I hear a tiny voice, but if I move it a fraction I hear nothing at all. Genuinely don't know how people work these things.

This!!!! Right here drives ke crazy. For a while now when we meet with friends for dinner or even family, the phone goes in the middle of the table and the first to "cave" and pick it up, pays the bill unless of course it's emergency or our kids. Very unpopular decision but it has worked for us to do this. We also don't allow devices at the dinner table.

Here i disagree. Depends how you do it, i try to keep the phone away if i'm having a conversation, but if it's a group conversation and i mostly just listen in, i am good enough with multitasking to also glance over messages and only pitch in when needed. Also, people find it even ruder to ask them to stop a conversation if i have something urgent (even if not important, but time sensitive) to communicate. For example, i wont stop a conversation i was engaged in just because my mum is texting me to write her the address of a place she wants to go NOW because she doesnt know how to search in a conversation...

I remember how rude I thought it was when you could tell the person on the phone was watching TV and not at all engaged in the conversation. I would just end the call normally cause I could tell by the third blank "uh huh" they were not hearing anything I said and totally absorbed in the TV. Just don't call or say you will call back later

My nephew and his first wife had pics of their kids on Facebook and I would tell them to stop it's not safe. They didn't have anything set to private which doesn't matter because people can still post your stuff. I've never had Facebook or any of that other c**p, I have more important things to keep up with.

I get so mad at the human trash that drives down my road. They throw so much trash it's got to be every 2-3 cars. Who does that?They will throw it right in my yard and I like to walk my dog but now there is broken glass everywhere. I try to pick it up myself but it seems to instigate it. One time someone threw a plastic bucket of papers at me while I was walking and it hit the ground like a gunshot and papers exploded around me everywhere. I still picked them up. I need to bring a giant trash bag and do it again cause there is SO MUCH out there. I live in rural Maryland there really is no excuse.

I live in quite a, what can I say but posh town. The amount of litter is awful. Even when people are just a few feet away from a bin they still drop it on the floor.

I was a bartender in my city for a couple years, it was shocking how often this happened. It was always sweaty money too. I don’t understand why somebody who is entirely capable of doing so would voluntarily choose not to wash their hands or use some other kind of cleanser on them using the bathroom. It’s just common sense to adhere to the practice of proper hygiene if one is entirely capable of doing so!

My mother was a damn nurse and I caught her doing that. Her heat went out and stayed here for a few days. When she came out of the bathroom right after flushing I raised hell with her. I told her that we were not eating any if the sandwich meat or anything else she brought because she was NOT going to make us sick. Every time she came out of the bathroom if we didn't hear the water in the sink either me or my kids told her to get her nasty butt back in there and wash her hands! It was a few years after she had retired so I don't know when she started doing that.

Just after lockdown for corvid, I saw a guy at work use the toilet and then walk straight into the canteen without washing his hands. I confronted him and he didn't see what the problem was. He was on a short term contract and after I and others complained his contract was not renewed.

I was once sharing a bag of cheetos with a friend. Most of us know that after a bit, you get the cheeto dust on your fingers. I watched my friend suck the cheeto dust off of their fingers and then dip back into the bag. I was horrified. In an instance of sharing, the licking the cheeto dust off of your fingers signifies that you are done snacking. No more dipping into the bag. After they did that, I just gave them the bag. I was so disgusted.

My mom's bad habit is to touch everything in the damn kitchen with dirty hands while she's cooking. You can tell she's been at it because there's junk on the handles of the fridge/oven/drawers/etc. Makes me crazy!

Double parking. It's such a rampant problem in NYC, and it infuriates me to no end. Especially when there is room for the car to have pulled over to the curb just 1 or 2 car lengths ahead of where they have chosen to stop. It ties up traffic and creates a road hazard. And, it's just incredibly inconsiderate - which is the disgusting part. Honestly, how full of yourself do you have to be to just stop in the middle of traffic and think "yeah, this is alright". Yuck.

There been studies done where it proves that when you flush with the toilet sest open, you are splashing what you put in there in the air and in the bathroom. Do you want to be breathing in pee and poop partiicles in?

And in your home bathroom, many have their toothbrushes just sitting there on the counter. Then they don't close the lid and that aerosolization can go as far as 14 ft. Yeah, next time you brush your teeth, enjoy the urine and feces that comes along with it. CLOSE THE LID!

I am not going through a dance of get up from toilet, close lid, flush, open lid to check for cleanliness, scrub toilet, close lid, flush again, open lid on the offchance that I'm somehow going to get sick (never have done, don't know anyone who has).

I don't have a baby but I am not grossed out by this. Germs are definitely shared within families! I think tolerance for what nowadays is called unhygienic is going down. Sometimes it seems kind of extreme. Future generations living in a bubble?

I remember my mother spitting in a hanky and wiping my face. When I protested, she told me to spit on the hanky if I objected to her spit. Honestly that wasn't any better. I hasten to add that this was only when there was no other option, my mother is normally most particular.

Some people do massive sniffles or snorts in my office. Pretty frequently. It's the reason I wear headphones.

Burping. Obviously everyone burps but I know people who do it excessively and especially people who do it on purpose. It genuinely makes my stomach turn.

Some of us have actual conditions that cause us to burp a lot, sometimes very loudly. I had a friend who hated when I burped. She told me “at least do it with your mouth closed.” So I did. It was just as loud. She never said another word again because she finally got that I can’t help it.

Yes! I had spine surgery through the front of my neck and had little burps for a solid 3 months afterwards. Nothing I could do.

To be realistic: while our phones are one of the dirtiest things we touch regularly, cleaning them often enough to make a real difference can border on constant. Generally speaking, if your immune system is more or less healthy, you probably don’t need to obsess over germs. Reasonable hygiene is usually just fine.

I wipe my phone down multiple times per day. Mainly because smudges start to bother me so I wipe it down with an alcohol based wipe.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with this. If you have any contact with kids at all, you'll have germs from literally everything they've been near anyway. And who has birthday candles after the age of about 16 anyway?
