Nobody gets surprised by jerk designs anymore. Those are everywhere, from face creams to cereal boxes, and the long time favorite offender—bags of chips, which are known for their conspiracy to sell air, ‘cause why wouldn't they throw just a tiny bit more inside?!
But believe it or not, the internet’s got a fair share of evidence that the very opposite of jerk design exists. In fact, there’s a whole subreddit dedicated to examples of “design that benefits the user at the expense of the company.”
You heard it right, sometimes brands and companies can truly come up with solutions that show they do care about the people who use them. And no, there's no irony there! So scroll down to see the best of anti-jerk designs spotted by eagle-eyed people who just had to share them online.

Found In The Ladies Restroom
This is something that should be everyone and should be changed every week.
OR - and hear me out - people could just not be liars/creepy/rapey/threatening/etc towards others. If your behavior warrants a laminated sign, you're living your life wrong
Load More Replies...It would be nice to have this service in the men's restrooms as well. Some (homosexual) men would also need such help. He can give the "order" at the counter without the other person noticing.
Not just homosexuals. Women can be predators too so all guys should have access to this.
Load More Replies...This is really interesting. As someone else said they should change the drink and it should be open to all genders.
They can have it open to both men and women by having different drinks for men and women (so men won't recognize the women's one and vice versa). However, for couples of the same gender, it doesn't work because they use the same restroom and will recognize the sign.
Load More Replies...Remember everyone (guys and girls and all y’all) most ppl are good and will help you if you ask. If you feel unsafe, even if the bar doesn’t have a sign like this, ask for help. You are not a burden or bothering anyone. And everyone should let a friend know when you are going on a date with a stranger.
hopefully, they aren't sexist and put this in the men's one too- men can get harassed as well
Yes, you're right. My son got harassed by a girl just last weekend. Wouldn't take no for answer. He snuck out of the bar.
Load More Replies...I think this is a great idea with the exception of having the bartender walk you to your car. If the creeper is really a bad person, they may be followed and both may get hurt. I say the last 2 would be best. Don't involve another unless you have a bouncer who carries a firearm. Sad that these are the days.
The Dyslexie Font
And incredibly clear too. No more “unfortunate” choices of font that make an innocent word appear to be something not so innocent.
Load More Replies...I’m dyslexic and I read this perfectly. I’m super impressed and never noticed this font before.
This has given me a good idea for the next font I design for a video game.
This font really works! ?It keeps the letters from jumping all over the page.
It actually doesn't work, according to the National Institutes for Health. I wanted to download the font to put on my computer (I've never been diagnosed with any kind of reading problem, but...), so I looked up where to download the font from and the very first thing that Google found for me was the NIH study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5934461/
Load More Replies...It's pretty useful. Ther is also OpenDyslexic that can be placed as an addon to browsers and is also included on all Kindles. I find that a different font is actually even better, but dyslexia isn't the same for everyone.
Wait. What is OpenDyslexic and how do I find it on my kindle?
Load More Replies...To find out more about the subreddit community that collects and shares examples of good design, Bored Panda reached out to its moderator Dale. He explained that the subreddit was first created as an offshoot of another subreddit with a similar name.
“It was created for the purpose of celebrating the effort made by companies and organizations that are directly for the benefit of the consumer. Particularly those efforts that may be at their expense.” Meanwhile, the sub has grown fairly strictly along these lines ever since. Dale also said that the community members celebrate good design and environmentally friendly decisions made by these groups.
“This may include things like the ability to turn off ads for free on free apps. Or, articles or videos that include the answer to questions before the content (such as in the title) as a kind of anti-clickbait. Our sub icon Adam Neely is a YouTuber and a great example of this.”
This Is Amazing
In 2012, two Swedish studies were released that showed men experienced intimate partner violence at rates similar to women. Amber Heard to Johnny Depp: "No one will believe you are a victim of domestic violence."
My parents had a friend (this was the 50's) who was regularly hit in the head when he slept, by his wife. He was hit hard enough that rather than waking up immediately, he would pass out. She finally gave him a skull fracture, and that was the last straw. But he never called it "abuse". He'd just say that they'd had an argument.
Load More Replies...Nice how it says partner and not "husband/Boyfriend/etc." This really counts for everyone
I especially appreciate that the instruction are gender fluid and can apply to either sex. No longer can it be denied that men are often victims of domestic violence too.
When my wife was in the hospital during her pregnancy, she was asked if she was being abused every time I wasn't in the room with her. (I know because she told me so.) It's nice to know that it's standard procedure and not just because they thought I was sketchy looking.
As long as the person accompanying them doesn’t see the specimen cup with the red writing this is great. But if the signs are in both bathrooms, the doctor and nurses MUST make sure the wrong person doesn’t see (the) red.
Again, love the solution, hate that it's a problem in the first place.
Let’s All Think Back To Middle School (Or Any Other Time) And Think About How Great It Would’ve Been To Have This Instead Of Needing To Muster The Courage To Ask Someone
This is useful. I hope more schools and education systems are aware of these issues.
This is truly wonderful. 99.999% of people have had one or more of these things directly affect them and books can save lives
When I was in middle school, I developed alopecia...a genetic condition that results in partial to total hair loss. Did my Alabama ring of "friends" shave their heads in solidarity . ? No, they stood in a circle around me and screamed "Kojak" at me. I still don't trust people.
ohh, man. That is rough. I'm sorry that happened--you didn't deserve it and they are jerks.
Load More Replies...I wish they had a gender category - but may the grouped that is under "sex"? Also, I get that this may be from a little while ago... Which would mean we wouldn't be where we are in our journey of normalizing all things gender and sexuality! I'm thrilled to see the progress we've made (and I get there's a ton more to go) for the LBGTQIA+ community in recent years.
The community currently has over 160k members that make up “a diverse crowd with a common goal to celebrate and spread the news of good companies and organizations with consumer-friendly practices. It has been gaining traction and the subreddit has been growing steadily since its inception,” the moderator added.
Dale believes that companies these days are moving further in two opposite directions. “Some companies are becoming more ethical, caring and thoughtful towards their consumers, doing what is right and being rewarded through the growing mindset of being an ethical consumer.”
However, “There are also companies that are prioritizing fast profit over everything else and, as a result, will be gracing the front page of our sister subreddit.” “I think more and more, as time goes on, companies need to be mindful of which side they will choose when it comes to developing their brand,” he added.
This Sign
Still doesnt work. Come to Edmonton Alberta Canada and the low level bridge that has an escape route for people who are new to the area and a warning sign and they Still manage to run into it an cause damage an back up traffic in a busy area.
You make something idiot proof, they invent a better idiot.
Load More Replies...Just a note; this sign was in my hometown. And I must confess, it did not work. There was usually a box truck getting stuck at least 2 times a month. Thankfully the bridge was redone/lifted for safety and the sign was no longer needed. When it was removed the sign was bent and scuffed up from being hit so much. lol
Parking garages often hang a bumper tube for this same purpose. My dad was driving a car with a wheelchair container on top and I was following him. He hit that tube going into the garage and paused, but he's a stubborn man and just continued into the garage until he wedged it into a spot so tightly that his wheel wells were pretty much touching his wheels. And he calls me "blond to the toes" (his way of calling me dumb).
So simple yet so damn clever! I have a lot of relatively low bridges near my home in the UK. The last time a bus got lost and ended up removing the top half of a double decker bus it took out a major train route to London for several days. Not to mention terrifying 70 school children.
I came up with a similar idea to tackle a low section of roof inside a bus station. The architects rejected it out of hand because they said, "if a double decker goes in there, hitting the warning sign would terrify passengers in the top deck. it is better to ban double deckers from this area of the bus station." Don't know why I didn't think of that for myself! Thank God for the wisdom of architects!

Go to truman road in KC. Hilarious. Every time. They wedge themselves in real good sometimes.
Do you mean the railroad bridge on Independence Avenue, near Wilson Road? I've never heard of a truck-eating bridge on Truman Road.

Is this needed though? I'm sure 1 would come in handy for sure but when its on every single roll wouldn't the small ones keep adding up without being used?
I’ve needed portable toilet paper exactly once.
Load More Replies...Extra supply! That's very kind of whoever packed these toilet papers
That's clever! And the solid inner won't get so easily squashed in handbags or glove-compartments . . .
But how do you hang it on the wall? I see a problem here. Then you need to take the extra roll out and put it somewhere. The cardboard is there to ensure you can roll it because paper is to soft and gets stuck. It's a great idea though and I'm not trying to be negative.
I used to buy rolls like this ant the lack of cardboard is an issue.
Load More Replies...really cool idea, but i would honestly have a drawer filled with the middle roll.
You can leave them in your cars glove box and use it whenever you need them. It’s better then recycling or what some people do- just throwing them away. Which I HATE!!!

This is honestly great. Like with the sign and with the AC. Genius.
The best part of this feature is that it has been implemented because someone had this idea and tweeted it to Elon Musk
Now, how do you get a cat so relaxed in a car though :) That's the real magic!
I don’t blame you. I’m not a parent but my parents used to do that in the 80s / early 90s. You’d get the cops called on you these days.

Nashville news this morning. A woman received a delivery of dead baby chicks. She sells organic eggs and regularly buys a specific breed of chicks mail order from this one company, for decades. First time there was ever any problem.
Load More Replies...YES. If u can't even spare a $1 to be humane, then u shouldn't have animals near you.
They send live animals as a shipment? Big fat NO to such company!
I am not sure if it is a typo or if other countries use a comma. We are not used to saying bucks after writing something in cent format as bucks means dollars, as in the green paper. So I can see Becca's confusion, but because there was something to indicate it was a part not a whole, it is not really wrong.
Load More Replies...OR don't sell baby turtles. They're cute when they're little, but they grow up like anything else and need a lot of space and special care/food etc... Then they are dumped outside or worse and cannot fend for themselves.
Dale believes that communities such as their subreddit are vital to spread the word and shed light on these virtuous business practices. “Being nice is its own reward. However, if subreddits like ours can help boost these companies, then all the better.”
The moderator added that companies should be rewarded for ethical and kind decisions. “There does not need to be a financial loss for kindness. Money spent on good design can pay dividends in this brave new global economy.”
This Bottle That Is Designed To Use All The Liquid On It
Various Clorox products come in that style bottle.
Load More Replies...WOW, 70 years later they make an improvement on plastic spray bottles. Now that's progress!
It would be even better if they just sold refills so we don't have to get a new spray bottle very time.
That's why the little straw inside is usually bent. You can turn it towards the little bit of liquid that's left inside. No need for this expensive version.
But it's never long enough to reach the corners...
Load More Replies...you take the last little bit and fling it on what ever your trying to clean. Thicker liquids like lotion an shampoo need something to get ALL of it out of the bottle
With shampoo you can just add a bit of water. For toothpaste or tubes of hand cream I just cut the tube in half and access the contents that way - surprising the amount that is in there.

My Local Shopping Centre Has A Special Time Where The Entire Building Is Autism Friendly
We have this in the two big supermarket chains in New Zealand now. I think they turn off the beeps of the checkouts, lower the lighting and even tape back the entry barrier that trolleys usually clatter through.
Load More Replies...My sister works at a barber shop chain. On the third Sunday of every month, the store closes to regular customers and opens strictly to kids with autism. They keep the lights dimmed, no loud music, and etc.
As an autistic person, this made me very happy. Good on this shopping centre! ❤️
I don't have autism (as far as I know) but I'd love to shop in that environment. I usually get headaches during the shopping in shopping canters, supermarkets and similar
I do too so did a look since I never thought to before! Found this: "Since noise is a trigger for both migraines and tension-type headaches, there is likely more than one mechanism involved. One study found that those who developed a headache from noise had an increase in their temporal pulse amplitude, which refers to distention or widening of a superficial blood vessel in the face. The distension of blood vessels surrounding the skull may activate trigeminal sensory nerve fibres. Nervous system hyperarousal likely plays a role too, as evidenced by the other symptoms (besides headaches) that occur with persistent and loud noise exposure." I do get trigeminal headaches anyway so probably explains mine. Thanks for making me think about it. Hope there is something interesting in it for you. 👍

An Easy Way To Ask The Company To Repair Wheels
I'd imagine it'd be easier to tag the ones that DIDN'T have a wonky wheel. 🤔
I've seen plenty of the signs but with no tags attached, yet still get trolleys with wonky wheels
Very rarely can you find a decent trolley. You would think by now that someone would have come up with a better wheel system thingy.

That's why I only walk my boy early in the morning, late evening and at night. A random 3 am walk is the best thing :). I often see pets on leashes in the middle of the day, panting like crazy and I feel so bad for them and their precious paws.
plus those poor pups and kitties. I've seen assheads walk their animals in 100+ degrees. they came home hurting them because they "trespassed" on my lawn. I told them its fine and my lawn is watered often so it's better than the damn asphalt
Load More Replies...It's not necessarily true though, those comparisons. Asphalt heats up because sunlight hits it directly. If it's cloudy (but still warm from warm winds coming from elsewhere), the asphalt does not heat up to those temps. That last tip is exactly what it's about. If it hurts your feetsies, it will hurt theirs. Don't get me wrong, don't go out during the mid day heat... But for other reasons.
Very good additional point. I think different specific pavings also heat up differently?
Load More Replies...My mother lit into a guy at local store! It was at least 95 degrees and this bozo had a pickup lined with metal diamond pattern. His poor dog was doing the Texas two step trying to save his paws. When the guy came out my mother called him over. She asked him to put his hand on the metal. When he wouldn't do it, my mother grabbed his hand and held it on the hot metal. The guy hollered at her-are you crazy? By this time there were at least 15 people around my mother. The poor dog was still trying desperately to get off the metal! One of the guys said if I were you I would put that poor dog in the cab of your truck and get out of here! He left!
A quick test to see if the pavement is too hot, touch it with the back of your hand, if you can't leave your hand on the pavement for any longer than 3 seconds, it is too hot for your pet.
I see doggos wearing little rain boots and cold-weather boots all the time - doesn't anyone make hot-weather protection booties for dogs? Like oven mitts, but four little ones.
Pickup truck beds can get even hotter, depending on color and whether it's the metal bed or a liner, which are mostly black and get very hot too.
I am always shocked at how many people walk their dogs at the hottest part of the day during summer in the UK. It shows you who are selfishly going out during a temperature that is good for them with no consideration for the animal walking bare foot on boiling hot tarmac with a fur coat on. Get up early and walk them before the sun is all the way up and walk them after sunset. Also, it's bad for doggos to walk on icy grounds as well as salt treated ground. The number of people I've had to educate on how the cold weather can cause severe damage to dogs paws is pretty shocking. They are ALWAYS surprised and usually say that they thought because their dogs paws were quite hard/dry it protected their feet against the cold. If you have to drive to a dog park it's advisable to carry pet safe wipes for when they get back to the car. Or when you get the dog home give their feet a rinse off and if you can afford it some pad moisturiser for them.
When we went to Florida a few summers ago I stepped on black asphalt barefoot. Then had to step in sand. The whole padding part under my toes was one big blister. Won't do that again.
Tinder Is Having Your Back When The Government Doesn’t
The sad reality is that this sort of thing is still necessary in this day & age. Hats off to Tinder for keeping people safe in this instance! They have a long way to go but at least they're doing good in one regard.
living in the country I do. We are very open, and honest about our LGBTQ. We have our bigots and homophobic, but we're quick to squash their antics (specially in Social media). I am a man, and I have a lot of gay friends both male & female.. personally I dont give a damn what your sexual nature is, everyone has the same colour blood.
Load More Replies...I recently watched a documentary on women in Australia who were raped by their Tinder dates. When they reported it, they would receive an automated message and absolutely nothing is done. Don't be fooled by Tinder trying to do good. I'm not buying it.
Too bad Tinder doesn't even do basic background checks on their members. I watched a documentary about sleazebags on Tinder, performing date rapes and other horrible things. These woman who were victims even TOLD Tinder these men were dangerous, and Tinder did NOTHING. Seems to me like Tinder is trying to cover their own asses and trying to make up for their blatant LACK of safety protocol for their members.
Like it or not there is a point where an individual needs to take necessary precautions to protect themselves. Tinder is often used as a hookup site. There are self preservation rules every man and woman should follow. It’s not victim blaming to encourage common sense. It may not ELIMINATE crimes, but it will reduce them. Ignoring high risk behavior does little to reduce assaults. Predators are lazy, they will go after low hanging fruit whenever possible

Designs that we see on the top shelves at supermarkets or on the top line in our internet browser have changed beyond recognition in the past decades. Previously, they all served a lone purpose to sell, whatever it took. From bright colors to deceptive packaging, nothing used to be off limits.
But millennials are now driving brands to practice socially responsible and user-friendly design. Not only are they less likely to spend their hard-earned money on things they don’t really need to compare with previous generations, they also expect much more from the brand than the thing they’re buying.

It's quite sad that my first reaction was, "My God, don't touch that! It could be infected with COVID!"
There should be government regulation on how small they do the print on the boxes, it’s like they don’t want you to know all the side effects of the medication you’re about to take.

Load More Replies...It turns out that millennials prefer to do business with brands that have prosocial messages, ethical standards, and sustainable methods. Not only do they expect companies to be transparent in their manufacturing processes, they also deeply care about them being socially responsible.
This is partly because, in the past decade, the things we consume, buy, and wear have become silent messages we give out to people. Every brand label may speak volumes, and millennials are not risking putting on a jacket just because it’s cold outside when they know very well that it’s produced in sweat shops in third-world countries.

Load More Replies...Anti Vax is a dangerous perspective to look from. I've had a lot of discussions with people who are anti-vax. During this pandemic alone I've read a lot about it and well, I think it's quiet hypocritical to say the least. At first they say 'I will not be vaccinated for a disease which is only lethal in about 0,5% of the cases. (Depends on the country you live in how the fatality rate is). But when they are talking about vaccines, they say vaccines are so dangerous, all the while less than the 0,5% cause some sort of medical problem. And sure as hell it doesn't cause autism. How dare they compare deadly diseases with autism. I'd rather be autistic than dead (and yes I have a lot of autism mannerisms.
Dont give them a platform. Shut down everything they try to share on, make them feel like they live in China. Stupid opinions dont count, are not worthy of being heard

My New Sheets Have Tags On Each Side That Either Says “Side” Or “Top Or Bottom”
That’s handy, I wish they would put the sheet size on the tag as well. I know some bedding sets do, but they all should.
Room maiden in Europe are used to deal with this. The tags with brand name / composition of the fabric are always placed on the right side of the sheets and mainly on the bottom of the side. Maybe a rule like this exists in the US, but most of the time only professional workers are aware of it.
As someone who's worked with second hand goods, what I would love is to have the sheet size on a tag on EVERY sheet to save measuring. And while I'm on the subject, ONE consistent way to measure shoe sizes.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me where to get them!! Half a century and I still can't do it right the first time!!

I don’t know why, but my whole life stuff that stains always zeroes in on my most pricey clothing. If not, it always manages to aim for the most prominent place.
Consider that typical millennials and the following generations are much less susceptible to “traditional” marketing techniques, such as the television commercial and the billboard. It’s because their hectic lifestyles have taught them to value their time and choose wisely where to eat, what to wear, and how to spend their evening.
Moreover, surrounded by a capitalist boom in early childhood, millennials grew immune to obtrusive marketing, which is mainly self-interested. These days, they expect brands to be open and communicative about how they operate in the world and to seek incremental and positive social change.

I wasn't aware we had a problem with sweet potatoes going off-pasture and they have to go round them up. How do they lasso them? If they stampede, how do you know?
Should have been sorted years ago, or just go back to all-paper stickers, the plastic ones have only got common in the last 15/20 years - as we've known the damage we're doing?

During The Pandemic, This Feels So Much Safer Than Using The Normal Buttons
Plus it's perfect for people in wheelchairs, which was probably the original intent. :D
I'm still undecided on that. I mean, people are usually in a wheel chair because they lack some form of control over their lower body and most buttons are at a height that's accessible from a sitting height. And my favorite, what would you do in a building with 20 floors? I think it has more use for waiting staff with their hands full, or as the op said in a pandemic where you'd rather not touch anything with your hands to begin with.
Load More Replies...I use a cane, so when I'm riding in an elevator, I just use the end of my cane handle to push the buttons with. Works like a charm and keeps my hands clean. Although I suspect kids love these foot buttons far better -- they love to push elevator buttons anyway, but to get to kick something on purpose? Fabulous!
But how will I push my floor repeatedly without looking like I'm having a raging tantrum?
This Metal Slide Is Water Cooled So It Doesn't Burn Kids In The Summer
But it’s a right of passage to burn your butts on an Aussie hot day lol. In all seriousness though, we used to sit on towels going down metal slides or have water running on top to make it a water slide.
Seriously.... How did past generations (30+ years now) survive with their butts and other body parts intact? I just cringe at some of the "normal" activities we did without thinking.

The key term is “corporate social responsibility,” which, according to Forbes, embodies 4 major qualities that millennials look for in companies these days. First, they want companies to be actively invested in the betterment of society and the solution of social problems. Second, they want companies that prioritize “making an impact” on the world around them.
Third, they want companies to be open and honest about their efforts—and to be public about their pro-social initiatives. And lastly, millennials want companies to involve their customers in their good works. An opportunity to give back to people is something inherently millennial, and shows how every effort from the brand’s point of view really matters.

Load More Replies...I would probably freak out. It looks like there is not lid and I'd be super careful only to find otu there is no lid. But it's pretty cool.
Wonder what a cat would do if this were casually placed on the floor?
I don't think that a plastic lid would survive the canning process' heat and vacuum. Would you dare to buy a canned product that obviously has air bubbles in it?
I wondered whether exposure to light would shorten the shelf life.
Load More Replies...Why not? At least you have a better idea about what you buy. As a producer I'd be damn sure that my product looks tasty before trying to sell it.
Load More Replies...To sum it up, the bare minimum of a user-friendly package that doesn’t promise what it cannot give is no longer enough. To clarify - this is not a substitute for the bathroom sink! These aren't intended for brushing your teeth, washing your face, etc. This is just for washing your hands after you use the toilet. Every bathroom that has this type of toilet (i.e. almost every home bathroom in Japan) also has a separate sink for other uses.
They have these in jail/prison except made of metal

If you need a bigger sink you just go next door to the bathroom (room with tub/changing area/washing machine, no toilet).
These Business Cards Have Braille On Them As Well As Printed Text!
😂 (I'm probably going to hell for laughing at this)
Load More Replies...This prompts me to ask: How does the blind person know they are there? Most buildings you go into have sign written in English and Braille as to what that door is for etc. But how does a blind person know that sign is there?
Good question! A number of different ways. You can ask people where you are first of all and if it's the right door. Sometimes you'll have specific directions and just memorize them "second building, glass door to the left". In areas with good gps coverege you can use a phone with talkback mode and it will tell you exactly what building you are in. For unfamiliar places that seem hard to find you can bring a friend to help you find the way if you're uncomfortable asking strangers. You'd be surprised how many blind people don't know braille but they live very normal lives regardless, you just have to figure it out like all things in life. That's not to say a lot of places and buildings could do more to help leveling the playing field and make it easier for the visually impaired.

Great idea, especially for non food items - nobody knows what all those chemical names mean, or are for
Yes--DAWN is awesome. I work in a cat rescue and it's what we use to help clean kitties cound outside.
My veterinary sister just shuddered. I hope I have misunderstood. Should use an appropriate pet shampoo. Rescue places use it to cut through oil in oil spills for oiled sea birds etc, not everyday rescue animals. Veterinarians also generally don’t recommend using Dawn for fleas because of skin-related issues. For example, if the pet already has irritation from having a number of fleas on the skin, and you’re putting Dawn on skin that’s already irritated, there is potential for it to worsen. Dawn is not the best shampoo product for pets with bacterial skin infections, and it’s not labeled for canine or feline use, instead you should opt for a product designed specifically for pets.

If they’re made of material that breaks down lightning fast in a landfill, this is great! However, they look like they’re made from plastic, and since not everyone will want one, they should instead be set up as an incentive thing instead; where you send in X number of box tops or something, and one will be sent to you, with no added shipping charges.
IMO that seems like more unnecessary plastic. Why not loop the string around the handle and slip the lable through the loop so it holds itself in place?
Why is it so common for Americans to drink their tea with the bag still in the cup ?
I was just wondering why it wouldn't have been lobbed in the bin before drinking.

This Milk Bottle Shows You How Much Milk Is Still Inside
Except for an extra layer of plastic/recycling complications, I don't see the big point... Lifting it will tell you much the same info for most people, and kids can learn. Plastic ones (HDPE, easy to recycle, even at home with an oven) are also sufficiently transparent to already see the level.
Cardboard is porous. There's already plastic in these cartons. That's how the milk stays inside, instead of seeping out. That's why you use paper towels to wipe up spilt milk. Paper products have pores. And if plastic made the whole thing impossible to recycle, what do you think the opening is made of? That screw cap looks pretty plastic to me. A few seconds of thought before posting can really make a difference.
Load More Replies...But now we have added plastic to the nice paper packaging. Easier just to give it a shake.
As I've said elsewhere, the packaging already had plastic in it, cardboard isn't waterproof. And the cap is clearly plastic, so cartons aren't "nice paper packaging" with or without the little window.

Contextual Advice, In Case You’re Like Me And Always Assumed It Would Stay Fresher If You Left The Foil Partially Attached So You Could Re-Cover It When Putting The Lid Back On
No, because the residu that's stuck on the label is a great place for bacteria to grow. Also, some ventilation can be required after opening to prevent molds to grow in water that evaporates from the product. This is of course after opening, when the product is exposed to the outside world (with all them bacteria and moldie thingemees in it). Before that, it has been pasturized or sterilized to prevent that from happening and the air most likely replaced with something like carbondioxide to slow growth of micro organisms.
Load More Replies...The best way to keep sour cream and cottage cheese fresh is to store it upside down after opening. (put it on a small plate in case a bit of liquid comes out.) I learned this years ago and it works! I have eaten both well past their "use by" date with this method. Doubtful? Try it!
Did you compare it with how long it lasts when storing it the normal way? E.g soured milk products should be naturally very long-lasting, as the sour environment reduces mold growth, and the harmless lactic acid bacteria in the product make it harder in general for other microorganisms to flourish. I store my yogurt the normal way - with the cover on, even - and have also eaten it long after opening it and well past the use-by date. A lot of milk products are just ways that make milk long - it should be no surprise when that's the case!

I worked retail for years. This rack is a mess. They are supposed to be gung in size order, small in front. It is easier to do that with those little tags. But always double check. Some people try things on and put them back on the racks on the wrong hangers.
This is normal in the UK but many times you find that the item of clothing is a different size to the size on the hanger neck.

This Brand Of Water Uses Reusable Aluminum Bottles Instead Of Plastic (And They Still Cost Around The Same Price As A Similar Sized Plastic Bottle!)
There are reasons why nobody else does this. Yes, it's recyclable, but much, much more expensive to produce - that means it also uses more energy and therefore probably isn't much better for the environment. Furthermore, the inside is probably coated with some kind of plastic, since aluminium is toxic and generally not the best idea for long term storage of food without such a layer. "Refillable" is also a joke. If you put in anything slightly acidic, even the wrong kind of water might suffice sometimes, it will still dissolve the bottle over time. It's a gimmick, and a very expensive one.
Completely misses. Explain to me how this is any better? Any idea of the energy required to make aluminum?
Aluminium cans are 100 % recyclable and can be recycled indefinitely. In Finland 95 % of aluminium cans are recycled. Manufacturing a new can from recycled aluminium requires 5 % of energy required to process 'virgin' aluminium in to a can.

(weird story about how a grandkid needed money for bail) They even gave her directions how to get there....so helpful of them...
What the hell would the IRS even need gift cards for? Impulse shopping?

Pump Bottle With A Easily Removable Label So It Can Be Reused/Repurposed When Empty.
Pretty sure its so you can remove the label for recycling... Since you are supposed to separate the different material components of items for recycling.
Probably inventory optimization in the packing line. Blank bottles without prints can be used on all products and graphics film is cheap and easy to store on roll.

My Doctor's Office Spreading Info About Vaccination Targeted Toward Antivaxxers
I consider vaccines 100% effective. Either I don't get the disease or I get a milder version. Because of a few anti-vaxers, my son got a bad case of whooping cough. My doctor kept reminding me a worse case would have meant hospitalization. We don't hear enough about the vaccinated kids who get sick because an unvaccinated child is spreading something. I am not sure the anti-vaxers care. If their kid isn't autistic, they won. They all know someone who knows someone, whose child got autism from vaccines. They personally don't know the child or parent, but somebody does.Since most other children are vaccinated, they don't have anything to worry about. These people are incredibly self centered. Kinda like the anti-maskers
Or poor reading on your part. It's 187 children total, and I know that because it's on the sign. That means that approximately 96 children were otherwise healthy before contracting the flu and dying. I know that in the world of pandemic numbers, this may seem small, but it wasn't to their parents and it would be an enormous loss if it happened to us.

Huh, that's pretty useful. Ecspecially if you consider that someone finds out that they can't afford it anymore and they will get money for it.
Comment covering for one post volume 3: why is everyone posting negative comments.
Amazon really is a horrible, exploitative company though. And they don’t just exploit their workers they exploit (and undercut) their vendors too. Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj has a good episode on it. Amazon Prime I hope has fewer exploited employees and is the only Amazon product or service I use.

Load More Replies...I assume Tinder is for adults. Can't adults experience bad language without having an emotional break down? If you choose to not use that language, fine, but this is a little soft if you ask me. Which you did not.
My question is what does it do next? Alert the person or just block them?
It might ban their account so that they can't proceed to say the same things to someone else.

But why? What's the point in recommending a book you think is bad? Not saying it's not a good idea, I just don't get it.
It's probably like with the movie or gaming industry - they get good critics,, maybe awards... but in the end it's just below mediocre and a waste of time.

Yeah, I don't think anyone who isn't delusional or extremely biased would argue that JKR is a great writer. Her prose is mediocre at best. (At least it is in Harry Potter, though the later books in the series did get a bit better. I haven't read any of her newer books to judge if she's grown in that regard.) Medical conditions related to obesity and type 2 diabetes are amongst the most common causes of death in the USA, almost two thirds of American adults are overweight or obese. I am not trying to "fat shame", I am a healthcare professional in the UK (Physiotherapist), and almost three quarters of the patients I see have an obesity or weight related medical condition. This is usually either heart disease, joint/mobility problems or complications due to type 2 diabetes.

At some level people dumb/ crazy enough to believe the tracking chip is in their valve stem while carrying around a smart phone and likely driving a vehicle with an onboard computer system deserve what they get.

Oh now that's just mean. Anyone who falls for it ends up with a ruined inner tube and a flat tyre.
that's exactly what the government would say if they put RFID chips in your valve stem.
Vehicle usage data are routinely scanned and shared with the automobile's manufacturer. These data are used to predict maintenance cycles and to alert both driver and dealer of real and impending service needs.
Cars made after a certain date do track your every move but it takes a court order to obtain the information from the on board computer. Pretty much like a black box in aircraft. Some years ago a man was convicted of killing his wife after the court obtained his GPS info from the cars computer thus proving his alibi a lie. The car was exactly where her body was found at at the exact time as the estimated time of death.

US fridges are comically big. So big, in fact, they don't fit into any regular kitchen cabinet system, and all American kitchens end up looking ridiculous.
K I owe this store huge they were so good to me, when every other store was a d**k. My fridge broke last Easter weekend (still hot weather here) during the highest level of lockdown, fridges were out of stock everywhere. I sent messages to all the retailers, some replied with "we can deliver in 8 weeks". Harvey Normas contacted me back, arranged for a delivery on Tuesday (two days later), and when the cheap model I ordered was on backorder they gave me a waaay better one as a substitute no charge. Went above and beyond. Feels cheesy saying it but they did me a solid and I'll always buy from them if cost permits

Didn’t Know Where Else To Post This, Seemed Pretty Antiasshole
I've seen signs on trucks that say "how's my driving? Call 1-800...".
I have called. In DC there isn't enough bus parking. Buses sit on smaller streets, block traffic and wait. It is difficult to get their attention. One phone call and they are moving quickly. Big truck or bus cut me off, I call. Get in my way but legal driving, mumble bad words - no call. An 18 wheeler sounded the horn, then cut off the guy who wanted the street parking space I was backing into. The trucker even forced the man to back up! Then he waited until I was parked, honked hard and long at the guy, then quick honk and waved at me with a smile. Karma? I think truckers don't like poorly driven trucks or bullies. They are far less maneuverable. (If someone pulls into a street parking space as you are backing in, they can force you out. Slime ball move)
