That’s what the people from Jane Austen times must’ve thought about our Earth, right? False, Antarctica is a ice shelf with no plants. A desert is a biome which is defined by its plants, soil, and precipitation patterns. So while Antarctica does have the precipitation similar to a desert, it fails to meet the plant life and soil qualification of a desert as it doesn't have either.

That's not true. The oldest 'Egyptian' pyramids are in Egypt. The oldest pyramidal structures (ziggurats) are located in ancient Mesopotamia. Sudan does have more 'Egyptian' pyramids than Egypt.

GREENLAND is covered in ICE, but ICELAND is covered in GREEN.......That was something we learned in school, though not completely true in the basic sense. (Basically, Greenland is glacial and few people live there. Iceland has an expansive population comparatively, and therefore there are far more roads, buildings, people, and animals.)
