When cinema was invented, as is common with new things, many didn’t believe it would stay for a long time, let alone become the most popular form of entertainment. Yet, here we are, over a century later, and it’s still going strong.

If you take a look at your life from the point of view of movies, it’s safe to say that you have either watched a movie recently or are browsing new movies online now, trying to decide what to watch next. Either way, your life revolves around movies.

Honest question: How many times after watching movies in theaters or at home have you tweeted your delight, frustration, or your opinion on how the movie should have ended instead? As a matter of fact, how many times have you posted anything regarding movies on Twitter out of the blue? This again proves how important cinema is in our lives. Because why would you share your opinion on something you don’t feel strongly about with a bunch of strangers?

For this very reason, it comes as no surprise at all that movie tweets are an entire genre of their own, and you can find a lot of them on Twitter. And if you like not only writing about movies but also reading about them, scroll down for some of the funniest tweets about movies we have collected for you in this article.

Share them with your cinephile friends and show us the funniest tweet about movies you have ever seen or written yourself.

Princes 1999 was released in 1982, which is kind wild, cause they thought the world was gonna end in 1999

The Grinch became a misanthrope due to being harassed, bullied, abused, neglected and excluded. Can you really blame him for hating people if the only people he ever knew were absolutely cruel to him? He was a genius to be able to create things and he could've improved Whoville, but they'd rather shun him and suffer the consequences than thank their religious entity for sending such an amazing person and truly appreciate him.

They should redo the Parent Trap but make it about parents in Saw movie contraptions who have to apologize. And when they ask why is this happening to them, Jigsaw can say “Because I said so!”

Probably because the generation I grew up in, all the cartoons and shows tended to portray the adults as bad guys (codename kids next door). Now there are retards everywhere that hate any kind of authority figure and actively rebel against anything they're told to do regardless of how simple or reasonable.

Honestly, I love that the parents apologize. Most parents have an ego that makes them feel inferior if a CHILD was in the right. I've had this argument with my Mum and she's finally started to apologize when she's wrong. All I had to say to her was "If you think you've done nothing wrong, when clearly you have, you're teaching me it's okay to have a narcissistic, selfish opinion that I'm always perfect and everyone else is wrong. Also, if you do that with me, who else are you doing it to? How much longer will they tolerate you with that mentality? Everyone will eventually get sick of your behaviour and I'll eventually hate you, then you'll be an old woman with no-one to love you, you'll be all alone, and it will be all your fault. Will you still blame others then? The same people who you drove away with your "I'm always right" demeanor?" And so far, life has been bliss.

I can just imagine a wealthy mouse instructing his butler to give him the finest cheddar and brie along with some crackers. (I know that mice don’t prefer cheese, that’s just my mental imagery)
