People with tattoos know that there is a whole culture that comes along with it and it's something that the non-tattooed don't know about. You don't necessarily have to be a part of it, but there's always support between those inked. Sure there is less of a stigma now, but those with ink are still sometimes misunderstood by some types of silly categorization. A tattoo artist must be a member of some bike gang, right? If you have a not-so-discreet and god forbid funny tattoo, there's no chance of getting a proper job, right? Precisely because of these stereotypes the community behind the ink is alive and well.
Thanks to the internet, though, there is nothing that can bond a community quicker than a few funny memes. From bad tattoos to the pain of contorting your body while you get worked on, there is humor in the struggle, and these tattoo memes prove it. Scroll down below to see our hilariously relatable list of the best and the worst tattoos, hardships of an artist and tattoo fails!

Tattoos are so mainstream they're not even cool anymore. Literally nobody cares if you have them.
I think that's a very valid point. It isn't edgy or different these days.
Load More Replies...I'm not tattooed and have no intention of ever getting a tattoo, but I enjoy seeing other people's tattoos. Your faulty assumption is unfairly judgy.
Same here. Mainly as I am allergic to some colourings and every slight paper-cut becomes infected so I can't help thinking it would probably be a disaster. I do love a good tattoo on others though. Good being the key word here - my sister has one on her back that looks like her child did it with felt-tip pens and she wanted me to try 'her' guy. Um... no ta.
Load More Replies...Also, non-tattooed people have better grammar than non 'tattooes' people...
As a *tattooed person, I care that they're spelled correctly.
Not true. I've been considered too much of a goody goody for not having tattoos by the tattooed and their artists.
well that's not it. Tattooed people just want non tattooed people to care, but guess what, nobody cares :)
Admittedly, though, if you are inked you immediately have something in common with anyone else who is also inked. It seems to be the one thing that erases most boundaries of sex, age, race, xyz persuasion, etc. A guy with ink can easily walk up to a girl with ink, compliment her on it and ask where she got it and it's not instantly seen as a pick up line. A white girl can chat comfortably with a black guy about artists, styles, experiences getting inked, and it's a conversation between two enthusiasts, nothing more. I haven't really noticed that with any other non body altering hobby, fad, or obsession. Personal experience and observation, is all.
for someone who named themselves after an orgasm you're really long-winded

From my understanding most tattoo artist has done at least one on themselves when training so they would probably know way before they get any clients.

Psh, definitely my sister. She decided a $300 tattoo was a better idea than making sure she could pay her phone bill. "No, I won't lend you money to pay your bill after you just bought a new tattoo..."

Same type of guy that can't decide between what Madorian letters he has no idea what it means or some tribal barbwire c**p.

Wait, wait, where are you from that you tip a tattoo artist? Or is this universal that whole time I’ve been acting like a huge jerk

lol I love this! I handle pricing for my husband's shop and omg...no matter how many times I tell them to be more specific and that pricing depends on so many factors, they still just don't get it. "oh, I just want a 22 word quote on my forearm with 3 flowers. How much would that be?" "Ok, but how much for just one flower?" lol

The look of shock I have when I see a face tattoo on a young person is not disgust. More of, WTF, how are you going to get a job, or be taken seriously and responsible?

I have a "homemade" tattoo on my palm. It is the exact replica of a sharp piece of graphite from a pencil, looking as if I accidentally stabbed a freshly sharpened pencil into my palm when I was 16. Honestly, it's a tattoo, it signifies my deep love of sharp pencils, I totally am not such a klutz that I stabbed myself in the palm with a pencil.

Ok. But I’ve got an ‘upside down’ tattoo on my wrist. It’s for me to see. Not others. Hence why it is like it.
I'm sure most of these are accurate, but some make me feel like tattoo artists are too judgmental of their clients' tastes.
They are, i had to ask to three different shops before finding someone that would make my tattoo without trying to make me change my mind.
Load More Replies...I make tattoos sometimes. And I think there's nothing wrong with wanting a tattoo you see on Pinterest for example. If it pleases your eyes and makes you happy, who is anyone to say you shouldn't do it? Just because I design and do tattoos doesn't mean my taste level is better than yours.
I was a groomer for many years and I feel bad for the artists who get flack for refusing a job. Yes it was by commission, yes it did affect my reputation, yes word of mouth is a b***h. But if I had a client who had a ridiculous request, I had the right to refuse my professional services. I had to explain too many times why doing a fancy cut on a 4 month old was a bad idea. Its traumatic, it won't look like an adult, and I Know this from Experience.

Had a patient who is crying and screaming when i stick the needle to draw blood. She have a tattoo and almost her whole back and arms.
It's different. When you are getting a tattoo you don't see the needle. It's moving way too fast to see, nothing but a blur with ink. Getting an injection or getting blood drawn you see a long sharp piece of metal coming close and slowly puncturing your skin. For some people, me included, it's a phobia and a terrifying experience. IT'S NOT THE PAIN THAT'S FRIGHTENING, IT'S THE VISUAL. I really and sincerely wish people would stop insisting that if you have ink you shouldn't be afraid of needles. It's like saying that if you have a stuffed animal you shouldn't be afraid of dogs, even if you've been attacked by one. The comparison is about as specious and angering. Phobias aren't rational, people who have them are aware of that. And why is it that they don't tell non inked people 'oh, you've used safety pins or thumbtacks so you shouldn't be afraid of a hypodermic!' /rantgrumble
