Bought an antique glass pendant shade (about $400) from "reputable" British eBay dealer living in France. Took nearly 5 weeks to arrive, was in about 1,000 pieces due to laughably poor packing. Wrote to seller for refund or replacement; she found another by same artist, if I wanted it. I agreed, begged her to double-box, use some bubble wrap, etc etc etc. Yes, it also arrived in pieces due to inadequate packing. Tried to get refund--no response from seller, who subsequently stopped selling under that name. Submitted damage claims to shippers because I had PAYED for insurance (US shipper blamed French shipper, French shipper blamed US shipper). Ebay refused to cover due to their 30-day limit. I have used eBay a lot over the years, have had very few problems, but I still have these boxes of glass shards in my garage because I'm still angry about it after all these years and hope to create a mosaic piece to memorialize this experience.

Wtf? They seem to have good customer service though so I'm guessing you could go to a store and they would fix it. I order from the all the time! Only issue I've had was they sent me an extra item one time which I brought back for no refund obviously but they didn't know how to enter it into their system since it was never purchased lol

This is why people really need to start using www.fakespot.com when buying on amazon. Way too many Chinese products with FAKE reviews. This website will tell you if those reviews are fabricated or not. Amazon also needs to fix this problem ASAP.

When you buy cheap from China you are supporting the bosses of people working in terrible conditions for very poor pay. Most of the posters here have the money to buy from decent companies with reputable work conditions that you can check out. They just want to get as cheap a deal as possible. When you buy from China you are buying potentially dangerous items using banned chemicals, unsafe equipment or clothing for your children etc. Proper companies have to adhere to the laws that protect the consumer and the factory worker. Equally you Know named products are fake at those prices, come on people!

I love to shop online and have never had these issues. However I dont just buy anything online, I dont buy clothes unless its from a store that I have shopped at before and no their sizes. I never buy electronics unless its from best buy or a store near my house I can easily return it to. But I buy things from Ali Express all the time and I am careful to look at the measurements of the item I am getting. If it looks to good to be true it is.

Around 2005 or so, my son's friend (about age 17) spent money he'd been saving for a LONG time and bought a car through some guy in California. It was to be delivered. He got a matchbox car delivered to his door. The kid (a football player) went to California. He returned with his money and a mean look in his eye. We didn't ask any questions.

Always read the ENTIRE description of the product, including product dimensions. Avoid clothes shopping online, but if you venture into it, proceed with caution and understand that, unless you are built like the model in the pic, it will NOT look the same on you. Read the reviews and notice red flags (lots of reviews posted on the same date, really bad grammar, etc.) and read the negative reviews first. And, the tried and true saying applies; "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Following these guidelines has saved me from dozens of online shopping fails, I'm sure. I've never had an issue.

I've been shopping online fot the last 7 years and the only item I wasn't satisfied with was a cheap pair of earrings that were way too glittery (in the photos they had much less glitter) but since they were 2$ I didn't complain... most of these situations are a result of not reading the product specs or ordering the wrong size of clothes or clothing items that are not suitable for the body shapes of the people who ordered them.. And is something is way too cheap then don't be surprised if you receive that toy iPad (for 5$).

Why do I feel that around 90% of these are just people not checking the listing over carefully before buying? The only time I've ever had a problem, was when I bought some silicone keyboard covers for my MacBook. Size was fine, but they sent me EU style ones. They didn't believe me. I sent them pictures, so they sent replacements... They were STILL the EU ones. So I sent them another message, asking them if they were paying attention. They sent another set... still EU ones :| I just gave up at that point.

Ordered a beautiful "throw blanket" in mauve plush from WISH. It was for my cat's bed. I even took the time to convert measurements of purchase from metric to US. I received a rectangle of mauve plush that was not even as big as a hand towel. Way too small for my fat cat. On the bright side, if I ever have a pet hamster, I'm good to go!

Most of these issues are the buyer's fault. You have to read and understand the sizing. Also look at reviews. If others say it fits small buy bigger. I always buy clothing online and have only had problems twice. Once because I bought the wrong size, and once because they sent the wrong item (which they fixed and credited me and gave me a 10$ voucher for my next purchase).
