In the UK, cats can go in/out via a catflap whenever they like, its pretty standard here in many of our towns and cities.
I keep mine indoors, far too many cars and a******s around for me to risk it.

In my neighborhood, a catflap would invite in badgers, racoons, other cats, skunks and who knows what else!
Cat food is in the same damn place its been for 16 years but he still wakes me up so I can show him where its at. Then he takes a couple of bites and goes back to sleep. I'm up for the duration. Love him anyway.
