There’s nothing wrong with fighting for your own interests. However, there are limits to this: the moment you start putting yourself high up above everyone else, you run the risk of becoming truly entitled and alienating everyone—from those closest to you to anyone you meet.
We’ve collected examples of people acting like the biggest and most entitled jerks which they got shamed for on the r/facepalm subreddit. The internet has gotten into the habit of calling anyone who is acting extremely rude ‘Karen’ (if female) and ‘Kyle’ (if male). Scroll down for more entitlement than you’ve probably seen all year.

British psychotherapist Silva Neves explained to Bored Panda during a previous interview that some people who have an ‘I’m not enough’ mentality lash out at others until they gain confidence in themselves through self-compassion.
"Insecurity carries the message: 'I'm not enough', 'I'm not good enough,' or even 'I'm worthless.' These are painful beliefs to have about ourselves but many do have those underlying beliefs," the expert went into detail with Bored Panda.

Had this happen years ago. Working in a restaurant in an amusement oark. Cashier runs outside yelling " call medical" on way out. Someone had fainted. Called medical, dtepped outside and asked the line behind her to move to the other eindow and that cashier would help them (one from each line to be fair) Next guy in line said " no way, i waited too long" and stepped over the eoman on the ground. What would happen when she was in active labor? Well, she'd go to the hospital and they would've made it work, while being short staffed, running from patient to patient, getting sick and tired of working doubles, having a greater risk at issues because they can't do everything at once... If they can lighten the load a bit by postponing scheduled patients who can wait, that benefits everyone. Doesn't mean they won't help people who need it.

Agreed. Plus, giving birth in an overfilled hospital is no fun. I had this experience with my third kid: They figured that as I had experience in giving birth, I could be left in the waiting room for as long as possible (I vomit a lot during labor, so it was really not fun for everyone else), then when it got serious placed on a hospital bed in front of the delivery room because all rooms were still occupied. I was rushed in for the actual birth, but caught a germ somewhere in the process, so my baby daughter caught newborn meningitis and I had to return with her to the hospital for a fortnight (she's perfectly fine now). I think these people don't understand that giving birth is a pretty hard procedure, not some extension of your gender reveal party!

I think you mean the stresses out doctors and nurses, who probably at this time were putting their life at risk to help those with Covid, a disease that they didn’t have enough information on, trying to get patients to breath without difficulty, and also the to-be mothers who are producing life into this world. They have to help deliver a baby. I think it is reasonable that they are not in a very happy and light mood. Also, the one room you take up will be one room someone could have used to help someone breath easily again.

One of the doctors for my hysterectomy got called up for an active labor just as they were prepping me for the procedure, just before they put me to sleep, so they wheeled me back out into the hallway where I spent the next 4 hours thanking the universe for the reminder of what I was missing out on and worrying people could see my butt. Even before Covid you couldn't be sure who was going to deliver your kid. The doc that delivered my first kid was a part of a large obgyn group, and I had never laid eyes on her before that day. She came in 5 minutes before kid was born and left 20 minutes later. If you want to have a higher chance of knowing the person delivering your kid, get some midwives.

I know this isn't ok but I actually understand. We have traffic going way too fast here. Thank god we live in sparrow fart but still, milk trucks and cars go way too fast and have already killed one of my fur babies. Every time one passes way too fast I get this aggressive feeling in my gut. It's a good thing I don't own a bazooka! There are a few families here with young children too and when the weather is nice they are playing together and running around as kids do. So yeah, I understand.

So last weekend I'm moving into my new rental home. It's kinda like a townhouse attached to other houses in a row. There are two parking spots for every house. My bf and I are taking up our two spaces to I tell my parents to park in the one next door since there is no one home (if they come home we can move, nbd, but there are 2 spaces). Well flash forward and next thing I know this woman shows up and demands my parents to move their car. At this point they are done anyway so I just send them home. The woman, who doesn't even live there but only dates the guy who lives there, goes on to say a bunch of crazy stuff like how we should watch out cause there are Karens in the neighborhood (ya don't say), and then randomly blurts out something about her 15 year old daughter and how we will see her sunbathing in the backyard...? Like why are you telling this to my 34 yo bf? and also it is currently winter in PA...? The kicker was her real name was Karen, and she was only running in for 5 mins). Usually I'm bad with names but doubt I'll forget hers.

Ummm, you know you only have two parking spaces. You also knew that you were taking someone else's and expecting them to ask you to move. Instead manage your own TWO spaces. Park one of yours on the street or somewhere else legal when you have guests instead of expecting other households to deal with you parking in their space.

It does bother me that Karen is used as a derogatory, I have several friends named Karen who are absolutely wonderful people who have really been affected by this mean meme thing. At the same time I absolutely do not appreciate people who act like this! I just wish there was a better term for them
