Needed this as I am in the process of saving my baby goat. She got in the pen with Ferris Mueller and he mauled her to death. Somewhere in the field are my shoes and socks. Finally got bleeding stopped and almost dry. Going to stitch her up once she comes out of shock

“Bird nerdiness must have a genetic component because I come from a long line of bird admirers. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' houses growing up and I can still hear my Grandpa's voice excitedly calling out the name of every bird species that landed on the feeders that were hanging right outside the kitchen window. I'll post this fun fact again. The Columbus Zoo's cheetah support dog is named Yeti. :) She's raised several sets of cubs for them. She's big, white, and fluffy - hence her name.

I was recently talking to a friend and cats came up as is usual in most conversations I have with anyone. He is a lover of all animals like myself but admitted he struggles with cats. Tbh, without the dog this would be just a meh picture of a random waterfall you'd never look at again. Now you have a great picture of your dog, perfectly framed between the waterfall and the left edge, 1/3 into the picture horizontally, and central vertically, making an all around pleasing picture. Plus your dog is cute.

These are green anoles. I had them as pets as a child and observed their mating behavior. This is not mating behavior XD not even the start of a mating session. They’re honestly probably “snuggling” like this to keep warm or because the heat lamp is above the mesh lid, so they’re both trying to get closest to the best source XD Also, these two lizards are almost the same size as each other, so they’re either both females (or both males), or they’re juveniles too young to mate. An adult male anole is significantly larger than an adult female and it’s very noticeable XD

For those that are new to horses, please always cut an apple up before giving it to the horse. Some horses are good at breaking up the apple themselves others are not and can choke. Sadly we had an incident at a neighbors farm where tourists pulled over and ,thinking they were being nice, gave one of the horses an apple from their picnic - the horse choked and could not be saved. Same with carrots, some horses can figure it out, others may choke, so please always err on the side of caution and cut these treats up.

Yep. Shape of the nose/nostrils and divided philtrum (upper lip) make it clear it's a sheep and not a goat. Goats do not have a divided upper lip. Sheep do, because they are grazing animals and the divided lip assists in grazing. Goats are "browsing"/foraging animals.

I can give you the context but not without breaking your heart. Happy stuff: The man is Abu Zarin Hussin, the Malaysian "snake whisperer". He mainly taught first responders, animal control, & other folks how to identify and safely handle venomous snakes, treat bites, etc. He had a couple as pets that he used for live work and had a lot of fun taking these kinds of photos for entertainment. He even made it onto Asia's Got Talent with the pet snakes. There's a whole series of these photos, like reading a kid's book to them and teaching them math. The sad: while off-duty he was bitten by a wild cobra back in 2018 and ultimately died from it 4 days later.

Structurally, it's closest to looking like a species of fruit bat. Most bats are brownish, though the Mariana Fruit Bat can have black fur - though it also has a yellow/golden ring of fur around the neck/throat area, so it isn't totally black-furred!

We have a door frame that looks like this. We have done everything we can to stop him, to no avail. This is the ONLY thing he'll scratch. Even the guard we put up, he scratched through. He's 18 now, I don't think he's ever going to change, so we just let him. When he does eventually pass, we'll fix it. Until then, scratch away old man.

My eldest cat did something like this to my wall unit. Took him seven years...got a new sofa and he dead eyed me,as soon as it was delivered,and made his mark right on the front of the arm...its a good job I love him so much lol

This child was never taught the correct way to interact with a cat. Even if he is not neurotypical he can still be taught not to get in the cat's face like that and pay attention to warnings before he gets scratched. This is 100% the parent's fault.

"Illegal substances" (because BP censors the d-word) were the ONLY thing that stopped the bad thoughts in my brain. I had a substance abuse problem for a while. I will forever be an addict - fortunately I am currently clean, for 3 years :) But I can speak from experience - dr.ugs are ABSOLUTELY bad and NOT WORTH IT. Not only do they eff you up financially (dealers will squeeze you for every penny and you will be absolutely willing to pay whatever they ask in order to get your next high) they also massively suck because you'll eventually need larger and larger doses as your body/brain build up a tolerance. I thought I was happy while I was actively using, because I no longer had "bad thoughts" and I was no longer actively suicidal, but soooo much more damage was being done - to my body, to my relationships, to my psyche, etc. DONT DO DR.UGS, KIDS! NOT EVEN ONCE!!

Yes, they do. Dingoes and large birds of prey predate on quokkas. There is also predation by introduced/invasive predators like cats, dogs, and red foxes.

My friend's cousin never spayed her cat because "oh, she'll NEVER get out, there's no risk!" Lo and behold, they got a new roommate who left the front door open on accident and guess who escaped and got pregnant? XD (...it was the cat, not my friend's cousin, just to be clear, lol.) It was especially enraging because friend's cousin's cat was small, so her kittens got stuck in the birth canal/she couldn't give birth normally. She had to have a c-section. Only one kitten survived :( It was infuriating to me, even though it wasn't my cat.
