Ignore the fact that it’s already over 100 days since New Year’s. It’s never too late to finally cash in that gym membership you bought, but never bothered to show up to because it’s about making resolutions and then abandoning them, right?
Wrong. The gym gives you something you’re obviously taking for granted and that’s the potential for being healthy and maybe even swol out of your mind, and a chance to enjoy memes between reps. And if you’re looking for a venue, look no further than this Facebook page.

Man, I wish I had memories of my back not hurting, but I’ve blocked almost the entirety of my childhood.
Don't worry, it gets better, once your taste buds change, unless you happen to be one of the unfortunate human beings who have extremely sensitive taste buds, then well, good luck.
Totally unrelated but I did, in fact, tap the X on you’re pfp
Load More Replies...So, there’s a Facebook group, very simply called Gym Memes (@officialgymmemes), which is all about that swoltastic lifestyle. It shares spot-on memes about sports, fitness, workouts, the gym and everything in-between.
It is home to 3.8 million followers who tune in on the daily ever since mid 2012 when the page was created.
Just stop by the burn unit, have them apply some ointment to the affected area, and try again!
The one time it's appropriate to give someone a hard time at the gym.
Load More Replies...There’s this thing with the human body (well, actually, any body that’s subject to evolution) where it decides what to keep around based on its usefulness and usage. That’s how humans got rid of their tails—the primate ancestry of humans had them.
Same goes with everything else. If we don’t move enough, our body will assume we don’t really need to as much. And so our muscles will grow weaker to preserve energy for everything else that’s crucial for our survival. Heck, if you don’t challenge your brain with puzzles and the like, that same thing might happen too.
Don't have enough energy to bring it up, give me a minute.

When I saw this picture, I had an overwhelming urge to start singing. "Young man, there's no need to feel down"
Pic is a still from "can't stop the music" 1980 with Caitlyn Jenner and Village People.
Those are gay men from the 80s. Nothing wrong with it, of course, but the analogy is a fail
Boomers can't help when they were born. Boomers had little (or no) control over how they were raised. Boomers can't help that their parents were from The Greatest Generation. I suppose the Boomer-teasers are ashamed that they were born to and raised by Boomers. Good going, guys. Your sorry personalities will probably see you through life quite successfully. How sad.
we just went to a 80s party this weekend and noticed No one would had passed the doorkeeper with these costumes... Just like:" Dides, we didn't wear all fails at once"
So, it goes without saying that working out is generally good for you.
And besides not wanting to end up not being able to support your own weight, it has other benefits too. Benefits like increased energy levels, boosted mood and overall attitude, and, physically speaking, your body becomes more resilient. Sure, it hurts in the beginning, and might continue depending on how hard you go, but that is exactly what strengthens your body.
That's the problem...getting down to my goal weight and rewarding myself with Reese's cups.
So, if you decided physical activity is the way to go, here are some things to consider before jumping head first into a jungle gym. Reflect on your current level of fitness and your goals. Why do you want to start working out—what are you trying to accomplish? Make a list, set goals and pace yourself. Having a professional alongside you will help immensely.
While I don't think your skeleton changes your weight to any significant degree it definitely defines how you look. With wide shoulders and hips you will always look bigger than someone of a similar weight who has a slimmer build.
Shoulders have always been narrow, ribs have always been wide. Which means, even when I was 105 lbs I looked fat because it makes me look like a bulldog. I also have a tori in my mouth, forces my tongue down and has given me what looks like a lifelong double chin. Super fun.

Just like a car, you can’t start your fitness journey at 82 miles per hour. You will need to warm up and work your way up to the top. Everyone goes at their own pace, but they do end up at their destination.
Another thing to note is that you’re doing this for yourself. So, don’t compare yourself to anyone else. This is about you, not your peers.
When you accidentally boost Little Debbie's stock price single handedly...
*spits out coffee. Ummm. What, EXACTLY, is that an award for? I mean, seriously? In what world is that NOT a big, gold ding-dong?
As for getting down to business, it’s always good to consult a physician or a licensed trainer before doing anything. They could help you set up a plan for activities that would be appropriate for your body and guide you through the process.
On top of that, they would make sure that you wouldn’t sustain any injuries—and if you end up doing so, they will help you recover and guide you back into getting ripped.
But who will feel really silly when the zombie apocalypse hits while you're both working out, huh? Huh?!
If you see someone carrying a pack like that in the gym they're probably training for something. Good on them for preparing!
My dad has the eye of a tiger...and a lifetime ban from the Denver zoo.
If the gym isn’t your rack of dumbbells, remember that physical activity in general can keep you healthy enough without the need for scheduled sweat sessions in yoga pants.
The easiest way to approach this is by walking. Yes, walking enough per day, i.e. for roughly 30 minutes a day (or somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 steps) can have significant positives on your heart and other organs.
Unless it's a family sized gigantic monster of a pizza that doesn't fit on an average dinner table, that's the correct portion size
Was a "gym rat" and kickboxer as younger. Worked out alot, so naturally had to eat good - and alot. At my first job I had a protein shake during the breakfast break (had already had a big oatmeal and eggs breakfast before work). An old lady took a sip from her dirty coffee mug (that probably was her breakfast) and pointed at my whey shake saying "that sh!t can't be good for you", then she walked away and started puffing on her cigarett.
Music enjoyment follows a bell curve. You'll find another jam before too long.
I used to work out without music. Never made any playlist. My ex used to call me weird for that.
Pair walking with prompting for always taking the stairs and doing simple exercises at home. You know, squats, push-ups, sit-ups, wall sits, all that jazz. There are a slew of apps and videos that can help you get into the groove, with those 7-minute workouts being quite popular.
Heck, taking up something as simple as jogging, dancing or yoga would do wonders. Throw in a healthier diet and you’re set.
Well, he actually sat in a makeup chair for 3 hours and had some CGI as well, if you want to take the joke that seriously.
Load More Replies...I don't understand the workout -music connection. I don't even notice it in the gym. I don't listen to music even when I go out for a walk.
Music can help activate certain neural pathways in our brains, if we happen to have that type of "wiring." Getting into those pathways can help release hormones and chemicals that feel good, focusing the mind and generating good vibes. Those hormones, chemicals, and vibes can all help turn a monotonous, drudging workout into a more enjoyable "in the zone" experience. It doesn't work for everyone, obviously, but for those who can take advantage of it, it can be powerful.
Load More Replies...Make that without my ear plugs. I don't know why Planet Fitness even plays music, or has it so loud because 99% of people there exercising are listening to their own music. I can t concentrate when it's that loud.
So, what are your thoughts on any of this? Wanna start that workout? Do it. You can scroll through memes on a treadmill too. And while you’re at it, let’s see how well you type something up for the comment section whilst jogging.
And if you want more sports scrollables, you’re welcome.
Saw this on the baby monitor, burned the whole fuc*ing place down...
arguably yes, but there are other, more humane, times of day you could be taking care of that :)
I wholeheartedly believe The Beast is fully entitled to all the pancakes he desires...
those clips can be right bastards... pretty sure whoever designed them knew EXACTLY what they were doing :)
unfortunately all the bulky muscles make other *ehem* attributes seem tiny and very unimpressive :) that's why i don't do body building myself... so everything can remain equally unimpressive
They only affect the size of testicles since your body will decrease testosterone output due to steroid usage. D**k size is set basically in stone around 21 and very few things can affect it outside plastic surgery

Fear me. (Actually, it’s just that the music in my gym is always way too loud and overpowers my headphones.)

Well it's true to some extent. Atleast for me. After I crossed 37, my knees started giving me problems. Constant mild pain. Had to stop altogether. I can still walk long distances but can't run for long.
So if you'd been sitting in the chair drinking beer you'd still be able to run?
Load More Replies...Don't dog on PF. Some of us normal people go there to do weight machines, cardio and use their other amenities like the massage chairs. You may be too hard core for PF but it's keeping me alive. And yeah, nobody cares what you're doing.
Not true. We had a guy in the shop, not a muscle head but thick in a healthy way and liked to maintain his strength. He got kicked out of Planet Fitness for lifting too much weight. So much for a judgement free zone
