Many years ago I had a female kitty and a female puppy. They grew up like sisters, completely inseparable. One day, the cat got pregnant (father unknown), and when she gave birth, the dog not only helped her, but also took turns to care for the kitties. The kitties grew up with two moms and even when adults kept considering the dog their mom too.

Good lord folks.so obsessed with life vests. Be breed appropriate. If it was a pitty or a vshort haired dog or a tiny dog I would say yes but don’t go overboard(sic). That dog has an undercoat that will get him to shore and keep him warm. I saw an add once that showed a lab chasing balls with a life vest on.that was ridiculous. I saw a man with 2 border collies wearing matching sweaters. The marketing of dog gear is out of hand. These are wolf descendants not children. Stop being so self righteous and judgemental and enjoy the photos.

I had a toy apricot poodle. When he would go to be groomed, they would put a bow on his head and nail polish on this nails. We would show him how he looked in the mirror inside the closet door. I guess he must have hated it because he would spend a lot of time in that closet for several days after.

When you see "The One," you realize that you will go to any length for them. I have done this for all of my dogs. I drove several hours into Florida to meet a guy who had a corgi that he could no longer care for. Years later, I saw a Pomeranian on the National Mill Rescue site that I MUST have...12 hours from my house. Later, I found a Corgi/JRT puppy even further in Oklahoma City...but lucked out in that a coworker was out there and willing to bring the puppy back with her.

The ones that you drive far away for are the bestest! It took me 30 minutes to convince my husband that I needed a puppy, then another 2 1/2 hours to go get him. Well worth the time and gas for my best child ever.

When I was in grade school our dog Mitzi , a Collie mix, walked with me to the bus stop and she waited there until I got on the bus. And every day Mitzi would be waiting at the bus stop to walk me home. And she never missed a day. She was my protector.

Worked at a shelter in Oakland, we had stray German shepherds all the time. People left them in the backyard all day and many got out. GSDs were very common and overbred in that area.

Reminds me of when I got one of my first dogs that was actually mine. First day we brought him home, he ran right up to our indoor cat and tried to make friends. She didn't want to, and swatted him across the nose. He never went near her again.

To keep warm at night my small dog sleeps right up next to me on my queen size bed. He has 3/4 of the bed I have less space than a twin size. Or...If a dog is taking a snooze all alone, they do like blankets or big, fluffy towels warmed in the dryer....if a dryer is easily accessible.

I have two wolfhounds, one is a short hair due to X with greyhound, he gets cold at night. He climbs UNDER the covers. We call him a self regulating hot doggy bottle. King bed, two dogs and spouse, I'm now in the spare room. I don't fit.

He looks fine and happy to me. And I see nothing wrong with the owners. By the way, I had a small dog years ago who loved being carried in a backpack (but I carried her on my chest). The older she got, the more she loved the backpack. It was really fun telling her "Sausages, wanna walk?" and see her freaking out, storming out the room and coming back dragging the twice-her-size backpack, tail wagging full-speed.

We put a green turtle neck on my ladyfriend's little dog and then a white tube over that. She runs around on campus and comes running past us stark naked! Then I have to go find her clothes again.

Ha ha my parents' dog was shivering on walks now she's getting on a bit so mum bought her a coat. She point blank refused to move when it was on as if she couldn't work her legs and just looked up at my mum like 'what is this magic?' eventually they had to give up on the coat (they tried several different ones, all same response) idea or she point blank refused to walk at all so they just put her straight by the fire when they get in. Weird dog :P

Excellent pet parenting. That looks like an Italian Greyhound, and they have very short hair so they get cold easily! Those jammies will help him stay warm. <3

Get a big suit case, start packing it, leave the room, come back in and find Border Collie/Shepard sitting in that case and will not move. Poor thing didn't know we were taking her with us this trip. So we put bag of dog food by the door with treats and her bowls and there she stayed until we opened the door, she was the first one in the car. They don't want to stay home alone.

I'm pretty sure dogs do not need clothing. It can trap in excess heat and make the dog uncomfortable.
