Mine does this. We had a home checker come round when we adopted our latest dog, and she asked where our other dog sleeps. When I showed her the bed she was horrified and started to complain. I told her to look around at the number of other mats and beds available for the dog to sleep, and then blame the dog for being a doofus.

I don't know if they do this in my country but i honestly think having animals visit you in hospital would aid recovery. I was in hospital for so long when i got sick and i know seeing or cuddling an animal would have helped my mental health and recovery a lot. It's a wonderful idea.

Our soft can-opener doesn't ever go to bed at the same time. Then she lies on the bed and plays with her rectangular beepy things (phone and Switch) half the night. Then when we wake up and go on zoomies, SHE wants to sleep! Soft can-openers just have no sense!

"Dog moms" are absolutely some of the most toxic people I've had the misfortune to interact with. If they're raw feeders, they're often more militant than the most annoying vegan. They stalk rehoming pages on Facebook and bully anyone who is trying to rehome their animals, calling them the most terrible things. There was a case a couple of weeks ago where dozens of women were piling on to someone who was just trying to do the right thing and find a good place for their dog - it turned out that she had several children and had just been diagnose with a particularly nasty cancer.

I will feed any animal that's in my care with whatever is recommended by a vet. I also treat any animal as though it's my "first born". Why? Because animals do feel pain. I'm not a Vegan btw because I need to eat red meat occasionally due to my iron levels. I was anaemic, was on iron tablets and I still need iron to stay healthy and not have my hair fall out in clumps again. My iron levels have since gone up. Skitty the Rescue Kitty was similar, I'd phoned a vets for advice and she went from very skinny to a glossy fur, healthy kitty within a few weeks with Whiskas wet food, dry food always available and obviously water too. She liked a certain Whiskas wet food. So I bought that from then on. As long as she ate and was gaining weight? Who cares?

Agree, SBB... We feed our cat, food recommended by the vet. And she is thriving. And occasional treats of meat or fish that we eat - though she prefers them cooked on the pan (without oil or any condiments). That said, she is also an indoor-outdoor cat with her own cat door, so she also treats herself to mice that she hunts. (And before people start pouncing on me for letting her out, we live in a country in Northern Europe where there are no natural predators for cats and it is actually recommended by vets and animal shelters that we have them as indoor-outdoor cats.)

I agree. Have you ever read the ingredient list on dog/cat food? If you haven't, always look at the top ingredient. Ingredients are listed by how much of that ingredient is in the animal food. Watch out for fillers and preservatives/chemicals. Remember cats are carnivores (they do meat) and dogs are omnivores (they will eat everything).

LMAO I also sing songs to/about my dogs. Especially after I've taken my migraine medicine which makes me a bit loopy. The other day I heard my son doing the same thing in the same style. My cat's theme song is "Bathroom Guard!" because he always sits just outside the door when I'm in there (I don't dare actually close the door) and guards it to make sure no one comes in and kidnaps me. I think. I live alone on the 3rd floor of a very secure building. But I appreciate his security anyway.

When I took my dog back to the shelter to get neutered, she thought I had left her. When I went back to get her the next day, as soon as she saw me she got so happy that she peed on the guy that was carrying her.😭

Our dog started doing this as well (he could go out to the garden all day to pee). He got too exicted. It's because we rewarded his enthousiasm and raised the energy by greeting him elaborately. Being this overexicted did not seem healthy, so when we came home the first thing we did was NOT greet him elaborately, we petted a bit then went to put our stuff away and only when he had calmed down a bit did we greet. Was much better that way. (as otherwise he would also be rewarded for jumping up against us / other people - only pet them when they are not jumping on you to prevent them from doing the same with dirty paws/to other people and ruining their clothes)

The truest companions you could ever ask for when you’re sick or recovering from surgery, and bedridden. She has all four with her here, but I bet they stagger their shifts so she always has at least one of them with her while the others have a chance to eat, stretch their legs, and go to the bathroom. That’s what my cats do, to make sure I’m never completely alone when I’m under the weather. They did it for six weeks straight when I had surgery on my leg and was pretty much immobilized in a series of casts.

My dog loves all other dogs she's met. Except her brother. Although she seems to be warming up to him now about a year later so maybe it's just a puppy dislike thing. I wouldn't have thought of that but the last time she was at daycare there were a bunch of puppies and apparently she had to go hide in a separate part of the daycare because they stressed her out. Which is relatable.

Have you tried running away and turning away when they try to show you they have the ball? When they come running or try to show you again, you praise them and offer them a treat in exchange for the ball/toy. Its no fun having the toy without anyone to tease, and they are often willing to chase you around to do it 😂

Animals and husbands tend to expand in the night, and leave you with that last six inches at the very edge of the bed. So, you just get used to sleeping without rolling over, to avoid breaking something by falling off the bed, and for some reason that’s impossible to explain, it’s perfectly OK by you. You wouldn’t change a thing.

I had o e house in a 5 kilo etre radius of my neighbourhood with fake grass out front, so guess where my dog always had to poop? Yes, I scooped it but, residue does not sink into soil on fake grass and I had to wet wipe that poop stain too.

My cocker spaniel was one of those, "oh, putting shoes on? we go out now?" dogs. After he died it was sad putting on shoes without him bouncing around.

My future includes 3 dogs, a small white stone house with lemon trees, close to some water. And my husband if he’s not busy. There’s nothing I want more than another dog but my current life won’t allow me :-/

It's a slippery slope. You add one more and it's so great so you keep adding one more...and it stays great but it gets expensive. I currently have 5. I always want more.
