Frogs aren't exactly the animals that get a lot of attention online. Which is a shame because they're really cool, so we're about to change that.
Bored Panda put together a collection of pictures that depict the fabulous and funny sides of these amphibians. You'll see them going to the doctor's, emerging from baths, and, of course, simply posing for the camera.
Frogs have already conquered all of the continents (with the exception of Antarctica), so it's about time you let them into your heart as well!

There are over 7,000 frog and toad species on planet Earth, and they have been around for more than 200 million years, at least as long as the dinosaurs!
The world's largest frog is the goliath frog of West Africa—it can grow to 15 inches (38 centimeters) and weigh up to 7 pounds (3.2 kilograms).
One of the smallest is the Cuban tree toad, which grows just half an inch long.

One Very Sleepy Frog, An Unconventional Aww
I totally remember the time I looked like this. Due to an eff-up, it took me three flights and 38 hours to get from SFO to NYC. The third leg, the longest, came after Iâd been up for 30 hours, and I was a shell of my former self. Check-in lady checked me in, without telling me sheâd upgraded me to business-plus class. đł As I get on a stewardess approached me with a pillow and three REAL blankets. WTH? Am I hallucinating? She brought me a martini (gin, straight up), I drank it in two swallows, put my earplugs in, and curled up with my pillows and blankets. Iâm pretty sure my face looked *zactly* like this guyâs, as the next thing I know, Iâm being gently shaken to wake up as we were landing. That last leg honest to cow made that wretched trip ALMOST worth it! I canât remember when Iâve been THAT comfortable and happy (though I might have been just as happy sleeping on a bag of rocks, I was so tired!).
Within Earth's diverse ecosystems, every animal plays a crucial role in maintaining balance.
Throughout their lifecycles, frogs hold a vital place in the food chain as both predator and prey. They not only control insect populations, but also serve as food for birds, fish, and snakes.
Furthermore, their presence also helps regulate algae growth during their tadpole stage, preventing overgrowth, and maintaining water quality.

They have adapted to surviving in extreme weather conditions. Like all amphibians, frogs are cold-blooded, meaning their body temperatures change with the temperature of their surroundings.
When temperatures drop, some frogs dig burrows underground or in the mud at the bottom of ponds. They hibernate in these burrows until spring, completely still and scarcely breathing.

My sister used to live in a fairly rural location and getting into your car at night was a chore because you had to pluck those lovelies off your vehicle before leaving.
How do you get them off? Shoo them away? Pick them off one by one? And, most importantly, does it make a "shlurp" noise when plucking them from the car?

I'd much rather him/her over the big @ssed spider than has taken to building a web on the side of my house. I put the dog out and come face to face with an arachnid with a booty the size of my thumb.
I used to get ones that built webs across my path every night in the summer, and I left before dawn for work and walked into them over and over. I tried to move them, I tried to kill them, finally I removed a plant that they seemed to like living in (and which held up one side of the offending webs). After I did that, they seem to have vanished, haven't seen them in years. (Yes, I'm knocking on wood now)...

Frogs also significantly contribute to human progress. According to some estimates, approximately 10 percent of Nobel prizes in physiology and medicine have stemmed from research on these awesome animals.

Warning for CAT owners - this plant (like all true lilies) is highly toxic to cats. If they lick the pollen off their fur they will experience a quick but painful death! These plants/flowers should be sold with a warning! (Cute frogs though).
Thank you for sharing this. I did not know they were toxic until my cats were much older. One of my cats had been exposed several times throughout his life and had no reactions that I could see. Who knows what it did to him though. Cats hide illness. He did live until 16yrs. My other cat was exposed and I got curious and looked toxicity up and freaked out. Got my cat to the vet within an hour of exposure he thankfully survived as well after 2 days of preventative hydration. He didn't show any indication of being sick either. I 100% agree that florists should include a card with all bouquets if they include any flowers that are toxic to pets. I had no clue for years! It's fairly common knowledge about poinsettia being toxic and yet not lilies which are so much more toxic! Even drinking the water lilies have been in can cause serious health problems!

However, amphibians are the most threatened group of vertebrates on Earth, with up to 40% of their species assessed by the IUCN at risk of extinction.
This means that many frog species are declining and need help from humans if they are to survive.
According to the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, some of the main threats facing amphibians are habitat loss and degradation, pollution, disease, invasive species, trade, and climate change.

Whenever picking up a frog, it's important to have wet hands. Dry hands can cause severe damage to a frog's skin (possibly even death to the frog) due to the natural salts and oils from human hands that irritate their skin and rub off the protective mucus layer.
I haven't seen a frog in the wild for years (I'm in northwest America) there used to be many frogs,, I remember scooping tadpoles out of the ditch by the road, we kept them in a terrarium until they were frogs, then let them go. I recently visited my sister in Texas and OMG there were so many frogs! I caught a big boy (and let him go of course!) and I was so happy
