Comical, cuddly and capricious, Corgis have continued to rule the internet with their various hijinks. While they might seem ridiculous at times, did you know that Corgis were originally the pets of warriors? Yes that’s right, the first breed of these snuggly dogs were brought over to Cardiganshire, Wales by a warrior tribe of Celts around 1200 BCE. Now, over 3000 years later, Corgis seem less like warriors and more like comedians. Pretending to drive cars, sledding in the snow and dressing in ridiculous outfits, these rotund pups have brought many of us countless moments of internet joy. Beyond the web some Corgi enthusiasts love these animals so much they organized a Southern California annual Corgi meet-up. Here at Bored Panda we like to spread the cheer, so we have put together a list of some of our favorite Corgi moments. Don’t forget to up-vote your favorite photos!

PLEASE do not let little dos like these or dachshunds go down stairs! the bones in their long backsides rattle together causing paralysis and much pain someday. we had to put down a dog because of a damage of the spine caused by using stairs over the time.

REally cure, but you have to remember that to get this photo they had to cut a vital part of a dog off of the dog. Corgis need tails for balance and communication which are really important. download-5...e7bba.jpeg

There is a big difference between Pembroke Welsh Corgis who are born without tails and Cardigan Corgis who have tails.

Yes. Chopped off to meet human image standards, like so many other breeds (rottweilers etc). Glad to say, in New Zealand, dog tail docking is banned from this October (no idea why it can't be immediate). There are of course exceptions if the dog's tail is badly injured etc, but hopefully not many would be cruel enough to deliberately damage the tail just so it could be docked.

Sandra, it is kind of important to know what a puppy mill is because you want to make sure you are never getting a dog from one. They are awful and it is often where pet store dogs come from, so don't get dogs from pet stores. The best thing to do is adopt from a shelter or if you have to, get a dog from a good breeder.

There are two distinct breeds: one that has a tail (Cardigan Welsh Corgi) and another that is born without one (Pembroke Welsh Corgi). Their tails are not docked. It's a genetic mutation that has been selectively bred for and is completely harmless to the dog. Please, people, educate yourselves before making an issue out of something that isn't one. The internet is already full of useless concern trolling.

I'm glad there are people who love these animals. They seem sweet. I just don't understand the attraction of any animal (dog, cat, etc) bred to have super short legs.

They're bred for herding cattle (if you can believe it). They nip at the cows' heels to get them moving. I guess unlike sheep cattle are going to be hard pressed to see even a large dog as a predator and be herded so small, agile, and able to nip at their heels works better. I don't know if anyone uses them for that now, but that was their original purpose. Most short legged dogs are bred for being able to get down rabbit/badger/fix/whatever the specific breed is meant to be hunting holes, but in the case of corgis, it's cattle herding.

Security for living creature (human or animals) is important. These animals have got love and they are fully secure for love and food, and hence and their behaviour is even much better than human beings. So security in life is important. When we are secure, we behave differently. And when we are insecure- our behaviour changes. Those dogs on the streets (at least in rest of the world, not in western world) or animals in forest behave differently, if same animals are pets and secure in home, they behave differently. Make everyone safe and secure in your home or work place (your spouse, your employee, your servant, your child or your pet, your neighbor)
