No matter how successful, cool or elegant we are, we all have our days or brief moments when our common sense and dignity bid their farewell to us. Blame it on your brain having a fart, on Mercury in retrograde, on waking up on the wrong foot, it doesn’t change anything.
Sometimes we are all clueless, hilariously naive, and shamelessly embarrassing. So if you just did or said something stupid, we want to give you a big pat on the shoulder and tell you that you are not alone.
Below we wrapped up the list of images featuring people lost in the cloud of their brain farts, so scroll down. Also, be sure to check out more clueless people caught in action in Bored Panda’s previous features here and here.

While we can’t tell the reason that made these people act they way they did as seen in the images shared in this post, we can all agree on the obvious: it’s that humans are sometimes bold and unreasonable.
Luckily, the internet is a perfect place to celebrate these funny occasions. Just like the miscellaneous corner of Reddit known as the “What Could Go Wrong” community, which has been demonstrating examples of “what not to do” since 2013.

Now Your Own Decisions Belong To A Man You Haven't Met
I'll be happy to pretend to be a fiancé/husband working abroad and do a video call giving my consent to anyone having this problem.
That's sweet....but not totally the point. It's obnoxious that women need men to approve of their choices for Healthcare to happen....
Load More Replies...Sadly, even after being married for 14 years with 3 kids AND husband's approval to have tubes tied, several doctors refused, because " what if you get divorced and your new husband wants kids". I wish I was making this up
Isn't it grand that hypothetical men have more control over women's bodies than we do? @#$%^$*!!!!
Load More Replies...Wait til these kind of backwards people learn that you can get pregnant regardless of your marital status! That’s right folks, marriage has NOTHING to do with pregnancy or having a child, and vice versa.
I have a friend that has their tubes tied as well and they are in their late 20’s. No husband, no kids, living their best life as a dog mom.
"Do you have any children?" ....Yes. It's a bit furry but yes. "Great! Let's get you tied up!"
Load More Replies...I can't get my tubes tied yet. I have no desire for children but my doctor says at my age I could change my mind....
They'll tell you that until you're done with the change. Seriously. I was told by one doctor she knew a 50 year old lady that got pregnant. I was absolutely horrified.
Load More Replies...I'm like 90% likely to be unable to carry a child to full term without significant damage to my own body or the baby's. If I don't take my medication every day, and get my jab every 3 months, I start bleeding like niagra falls (to the point i was near passing out in a&e) But yet.. "just in case" I still can't get a hysterectomy. Oh, and I'm also married. to a woman. ffs when does their b******t end.
I had a C-section with my daughter and I asked if they could tie my tubes during the procedure, and my OB said he could if I wasn't giving birth in a Catholic hospital. I was stunned. The hospital didn't allow any form of permanent birth control. I would've changed hospitals but my only other choice was the one that my mother had all of her cancer treatment in and was filled with bad memories for me :(
No one ever talked to me seriously about tying my tubes. I was told I would change my mind. Welllll... I'm 46, going through perimenopause and STILL don't want kids! But I couldn't get the procedure done. My husband would have gladly signed anything if it would've helped, but no. I wish I could have asked these doctors what religion they were and then patted them sagely on the shoulder and said, "well, you'll be an atheist some day" or something anti whatever THEY believed in.
You can still have kids without having to have a pregnancy. For example, adoption.
People always told me I would regret not having children, I don't. The world is over-populated. This world isn't safe for children. The planet is dying. I have a few more reasons but I'll stop here.
I'm with you! I don't regret not having children either and I have those reasons plus more.
Load More Replies...but if he really wanted a child and you couldn't have one then you could just adopt! why would the doctor not think of this??
*Insert messed up comments here about how adopted children aren't real children*
Load More Replies...46, ready to convince the doctor, all arguments listed. First thing he says 'great idea!'. So maybe y'all should come to the Netherlands to have this done 😊 I have no children but a furry floof. Doc said 'while we're at it, shall we also perform this procedure so you will not have periods anymore?'. God I wish I'd done this 10 years earlier. Insurance covered most costs I think I paid 385 (standard pay determined by the government) of the €2500 it cost.
Dr wouldn't give me (M) the snip because I might want kids. 30years later, iIve still no desire to spawn.
Yes! I totally understand this. My doctor won’t even DISCUSS sterilization unless you already have 2 kids and/or are 36. How is this legal? Especially now with Roe v Wade. It almost feels like we are breeding cattle with no thoughts or opinions or feelings
I have 2 children a boy and a girl. Both with the same disability. I've been with the father 9 years. I also have debilitating hyperemisis gravidarum when pregnant which means I'd bed bound my entire pregnancy. I don't want to be on fake hormones anymore. I've been asking for 5 years. Still won't give me one. Told I'd have to wait till I'm 30, that came. Then wait till my youngest was 3, that came now I've got to make sure my partner is fully onboard, he is. Still no.
I was asked a lot of inappropriate and hurtful questions when I wanted sterilization. My body and my decision. I said the same to my husband, who was ready to undergo the operation himself because men seem to get it easier. I said no because I won't regret it and I don't want to take on anyone's regrets. I didn't want to take away the power of someone else to decide about their own body completely on their own. I knew that my decision would not affect the fact that my husband might someday want children and we should at least redefine the quality of our relationship, but I love him so much that I was ready to take the risk. I'm ok with that if he wants to reproduce, for example in the sense of co-parenting or start a traditional relationship without me. Love is sometimes a strange thing and sometimes giving up is loving.
I'm so happy I'm past child bearing years. I would NOT be nice to the doctor that told me this.
I mean they aren't necessarily forcing it, they're just not giving women the option to not have kids without making them go through a ton of s**t.
Load More Replies...I had 2 periods a month for about 20 years. I also have pernicious anemia. I went along with the gynes, tried different bc, all of them were bad for various reasons. I was told "if you get pregnant, your body may reset itself". Single, terrible insurance, several health issues, no money...but get knocked up rather than take out my malfunctioning plumbing organs.
Back when I got my tubes tied, women weren't allowed to have their own checking accounts or rental agreements. Despite being a few days from our divorce being finalized, my soon-to-ex signed the documents because he thought it was a stupid requirement.
I am married with 2 kids approaching 40. I have been denied for getting my tubes tied because "maybe I or my husband want a 3rd and am still young". God, I hate our medical system
Husband went to ask doc for a vasectomy as we have 5 children between us (me 3, him 2) doc refused 'in case we want one together' I'm freaking 45 years old!!! Same doctor gave me a lecture on taking the contraceptive pill be cause I'm overweight and in the 'mature' category.....literally can't make this sh*t up!
I wanted a hysterectomy so I didn’t have periods, but it took having cervical cancer due to HPV and many grief counseling later before I finally got it. Even with cancer I had to convince many people that I was ok with not having any more kids. One even said that chemo would allow me and my future husband to have kids. Nope. I wasn’t going to have anymore than my two. I got the hysterectomy. I’m not sad. I don’t have a bf or husband. My nonbinary potato is amazing!!!
I had to explain to several people very well why it was ME that was gonna have my tubes tied and not my bf who was gonna have his junk *fixed*. My reasons: I was about to have my 3rd child and I strongly felt that my body couldn't go through a pregnancy again not if I want to be able to walk when I'm retired, that is. Also... I mean... we now have 3 kids! And... IF my bf and I should break up some day and he finds himself a younger model he wants to have kids with he should be able to do that. Because this is ME not wanting to carry more babies in MY body. So yes... even when I was expecting child nr. 3 I had to argue my case of wanting to have my tubes tied. Lol.
I don't think this is a "temporary" lapse in judgement by the doctor.
What can a person say to this post other than: wait until they take our voting rights away. Men run the world, very unfortunate but true. If us women ever do, look out men. All we can do is keep putting women in positions of power. And vote !
Who wants to bring boo one more child into this ugly disgusting evil world????
This is, unfortunately, standard. Tried in my 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s to get hysterectomy to prevent cancer. Then I got cancer. Still couldn't get the procedure. Misogynists chap my hide.... and there are far too many in medical professions. And political office.
Military and civilian, in half a dozen states, over 40 years... same result. One doctor visit for hysterectomy was willing to talk to my husband about bypassing my tubal ligation.
Load More Replies...The problem isn't that PO doesn't have a man to vouch for them. The problem is that our society allows someone else to have ownership of their body and exercise choices that should be theirs and theirs alone. F-that!
"someday you might want kids" sir i am a sex repulsed asexual. if i ever do have kids it will be through adoption.
Pretty sure men can get snipped and never tell their SO in most US places. Remember "family values" are really 1950's men's values.
Load More Replies...My husband had to sign to give me permission to get my tubes tied. I didn't have to sign a thing.
I have a friend that this actually happened to. She was having some issues and they would not give her a hysterectomy because she wasn't old enough and might still have kids. She was 28.
I was nervous bringing this topic up to my OB (been with her 7 months for my pregnancy). I wasn’t sure if her stance on it. She had the paper work for the insurance company in hand within 20 minutes ( insurance needs a 30 day notice or something). So I have 6 months after having my current baby to follow through. I was so relieved! (When I told my husband, he offered to get a vasectomy instead since recovery is a lot easier on him).
Been there, done that. I was told I could get it done if I saw a psychiatrist once a week for a year. I worked with a great psychiatrist and guess what, all done.
I admire him for wanting to help. Don't push allies away. Has anybody heard that incidence of vasectomies has increased since Roe was overturned. Some men are not taking the chance of putting a woman in this situation.
I asked to get my tubes tied when I was in my late 20's or early 30's. The woman doctor mainly hemmed and hawed. I suspect she thought I may change my mind. I am well past menopause and still no children.
My husband gave permission to do a hysterectomy while I was unconscious having emergency surgery for an ectopic.
Get 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th referrals if you have to. Don't go by what one a*****e doctor thinks.
Yes and if you need or want an abortion your body belongs to the State. ‘Solving,’ low birth rates in the United States.
This one doesn't fit the headline. Maybe you could say the Dr was clueless, but not the OP.
Shut up and do your job, Ribs!/sssssss please don't downvote, outta screennames
No, you had a doctor who considered it a bad irreversible choice for you. And you have the choice of another doctor. There's NO question of 'belonging' here.
I don't think this is true anymore. But possibly for insurance to cover an invasive elective surgery.
Said to me by 3 different doctors. Must be nice to be a man hahaha
Load More Replies...I really don't know what to think about this issue. I suppose as long as she's not already married and told anyone who got serious about her that she's unable to have children because she got her tubes tied... I see no problem with it. It seems to me, most of the people out there having children shouldn't have children.
So it's only okay with you under special circumstances?? You don't believe women should have the right to make their own decisions about their own bodies?????? Whoa......wouldn't broadcast that on this page......
Load More Replies...Not really. That's just one person. If a restaurant refuses to serve you they don't own anything, and you just go to another restaurant. If the doctor refuses to treat you that's his judgment based on his experience. He does not have to fulfill every desire or the full will of any patient. Just find a doctor who'll do it, your body actually still belongs to you.
People, over time, Vasectomies and this female thing I can't spell, are permanent reminders of a temporary feeling. I would give the doctor props for offering you a safety net for a change of mind.
To be fair, when getting a vasectomy, many doctors require the wife to sign a document allowing it.
No legal requirement in the UK and the US and the three men I know who had it done didn't need the wife to sign a thing. Even where there is no legal requirement to involve a husband women still get refused, men rarely do. You can try and make it sound equal, but it is not.
Load More Replies...I don't. It takes away from those who are certain and want more control over the chances of reproduction. Siding with a few hypothetical mind changers ignores the will of those who are certain.
Load More Replies...Are...are you comparing a woman's choice over what happens to her body to a store owner throwing someone out? Seriously?

“My hope is that people who are thinking of attempting a stupid stunt will rethink their decision or maybe recall a post they saw on /r/whatcouldgowrong. Then they’ll think, 'maybe I should not do this,'” the redditor said.

I Mean, How Stupid Can People Be?
But bold actions we all sometimes do without thinking twice about them may have to do with our lack of sense of actions and consequences. This may be deliberate or not, since some people struggle to control their impulsivity.
Another reason may be the fact that we live in the age of instant gratification. From social media to online shopping, the ability to get what we want with the click of a button has eliminated the need for long-term planning and consideration of the potential consequences of our actions.
Our culture has become one of immediacy, where people are more concerned with the short-term gratification of their desires than with the long-term consequences.

This lack of foresight has led to a number of problems, both for individuals and society as a whole. For individuals, it has resulted in a lack of financial planning, leading to debt and overspending. It has also led to a lack of responsibility when it comes to personal health and safety, resulting in an increase in reckless behavior and risky activities.

On a larger scale, this lack of consideration for the consequences of our actions has led to environmental degradation and climate change. We have failed to take the long-term view and instead have focused on short-term gains, leading to a situation where we are now facing the consequences of our actions.

I do want to specify that the employee knew English. He was trying his best to get his message across. It’s just that he spoke in broken English, which the woman couldn’t understand. But everyone else in the vicinity, including myself, could.
Conversely, i know of a lady who, on whirlwind tour of Europe and stressed by language difficulties, one day finding herself in a large seemingly-public building called out 'DOES ANYONE HERE SPEAK ENGLISH?'. After a stunned silence, a well-modulated voice replied 'madam, this IS the Bank of England'.
