According to animator Art Babbitt, "Animation follows the laws of physics—unless it is funnier otherwise." The idea that cartoons behave differently compared to the real world (but not randomly) is almost as old as animation itself. For example, Walt Disney already talked about this "the plausible impossible" cartoon logic in 1956. And when you think about it, the popular cartoons would lose half of their charm if their characters started acting just the same as us. Our sometimes dull reality is what we're trying to escape watching the funny cartoons, after all.

Bored Panda has collected some of the most ridiculous examples of cartoon plot holes to highlight how the world of cartoon characters differs from the real one, and it couldn't be any funnier. From the fingerless Powerpuff Girl Blossom eating with chopsticks to Tom and Jerry hanging out naked all day but wearing clothes at the beach - these characters clearly aren't governed by the laws of science or the norms of any rational plot twists. Scroll down to witness severe cases of cartoon logic that make perfect (non)sense and vote for the most facepalm-y ones!

So? It's still an older pagan custom to decorate trees, which the Bible could prohibit by Jeremiah 10:1-5.

This would be correct. The holiday later called Christmas was already being celebrated more than one thousand years before the birth of Jesus. And yes, at some point before his birth people started using a decorated tree during this celebration. His birth (although nobody knows his actual date of birth) was added to the holiday by Roman Pagans who were forced to join the official state church.

The sight of mistletoe and santa hats on their heads and a fully decorated christmas tree in their home(which also makes no sense, because humans were nomadic in paleolithic times) only makes it MORE ridiculous. THIS scene alone goes to show that you should never have a Christmas special set before the time of Christ, when Christmas did not yet exist. Shame on you, Hanna-Barbera!

Christmas existed a LOOOOOONG time before Christ. Except we didn't call it that then. The pinetree, the presents, the decorations, etc... same with easter. You guys should really dig into history a little !!! Christianism has just implanted their "celebrations" over those of our ancestors so we would forget what their real origin was. They succeeded with some of us apparently.

That is because Christmas has nothing to do with Christ. Christmas began long before the birth of Jesus Christ. Alexander Hislop's book The Two Babylons explores many historical sources showing that the holiday precedes Christ by at least 2,000 years, as earlier mentioned (1957, pp. 97-98). A nativity celebration for pagan gods was observed near the winter solstice in both Syria and Egypt.

That's only if you assume they lived in the caveman era. If the Jetsons and the Flintstones actually exist in the same era of the future, the Jetsons are this humans who colonised other planets after the destruction of earth, while the Flintstones are the human survivors left behind.......in this scenario, the celebration of Christmas is kind of gloomy.

In fact, there is a theory that the Flintstones live in the future. After some kind of catastrophe, rich people (like the Jetsons) went to live in floating houses in the sky and poor people stayed on the ground working in mining ou agriculture. That is the reason people in Bedrock try to emulate all the things they have lost (car, washing machines, etc.) using the few resources they still have.

Saturnalia was celebrated before the birth of Christ. Christians used this celebration while they were being persecuted to cover up the fact they were celebrating Christ. He was actually born in the spring while shepherds watched their flocks by night. This was only done during lambing season which is March/April time. The Christmas tree is actually a pagan symbol of the return of the sun.

Christmas is a modern name we gave it, before that it was called midwinter. The christmastree is from that time, the candles, the gifts, the family, etc. Christmas as in celebrating Jesus his birth came popular much much later.
