Birds might be one of the rare animals who we humans would swap places with, even considering all the perks and comforts of civilization. The ability to fly, go anywhere, and escape nearly everything is simply too good of a deal to pass up and birds sometimes seem to know it.
The “Birds with threatening auras” Facebook page gathers and shares pics of avians who do not give a single damn. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorite posts, and be sure to share your own thoughts and bird-encounter stories in the comments section below. We got in touch with the page's creator to learn more.

When it's cold enough to see the melody
Bored Panda got in touch with Julia Morales the creator of the “Birds with threatening auras” Facebook page and one of its current admins. She was kind enough to answer some of our questions, starting with how the page was formed in the first place.
“So the story behind this page's creation is that one day I sat down and wondered “What would be a funny bird group name?” and didn’t want a name like “birds” and “bird memes” so that’s how “Birds with threatening auras” was born!” she shared with Bored Panda. Since then, the page has received thousands of regular visitors.
We also were curious to hear how she would describe the name to someone less familiar with internet culture. “I would explain a threatening aura as something bad a bird is doing or hidden undertones. Such as, for example, swans making traffic stops and making people angry just so they can walk across the road with their little swan family.”
Birds have ended up in their fair share of memes, so we wanted to hear Julia’s thoughts on the page’s popularity. “I think it’s the name and the birds being “bad” in some way. It’s a funny genre and I think it’s also due to people calling birds government drones,” she shared with Bored Panda, referencing the satirical “Birds Aren’t Real” campaign.
Baby blueberry is extremely hostile. Must return to lab for further specifications. Our results of crossing a blueberry with a t-rex are proving most risky
When the cleaning lady just finished mopping at work but there's no other way to get to my desk.
I’m just imagining the peacock turning around and then sprinting after the girl lol
We have some roaming a neighborhood near by that I see all the time...when they run it looks like the velociraptors from Jurassic Park.
Load More Replies...Easy. Hey look what a cute bird!!!!! Gonna pet... AAA AAA
Load More Replies...My relatives live near a peacock farm. It's about a mile away and noisy as heck. I don't know how those people sleep.
Load More Replies...Met some peacocks while strolling through a park in the UK. Thought I escaped to a nearby bench, but they followed me. Once they saw I hadn't any food for them, they just stood around me and preened. Not hostile at all, more... protective, in a way? I felt rather special actually. 😄
STORY TIME! When I was like 10 I went to Florida to visit some family (grandma and grandpa) during spring break. They decided to take us kayaking (sp?). Well we went down a river, maybe 2 miles, and took a ride thing back. When we got back, there was a flock of peacocks outside the main building and my mom thought it was a good idea to go closer to them to get a picture. So we do that then start walking back to the car. Well, the peacocks slowly started following us. We were gathering a bunch of stuff so we were there for awhile. Ten minutes later, we were all in the car and the car was surrounded by said flock of peacocks. Couldn't drive over them because my grandpa was a sweetheart and also there were like three to the back. Grandpa had to get out and throw down some of our snacks so they would go away from the car. As we were driving out of the parking lot they started chasing us and as we exited they just stood there and watched us drive away. Like something out of a movie idk
I'm glad someone mentioned that it is a peacock she is running from. For a second I thought. That she was being chased by a extremely pissed off Christmas tree.
I need more information on this photo...😄 When I was a toddler, my parents took us to an amusement park, and there was a chimpanzee there(not sure why) I wish I could find the photo to post, but I was sitting on my dad's lap I believe, Rosie, the chimp was to the side of us for a photo. Rosie was curious, and gave me a kiss on my cheek. My mother said we looked at eachother, I burst out in tears, Rosie, also shocked, she took off running in one direction toward her trainer. I tried lunging out of my dad's lap to run in the other direction. And my mother was able to capture a photo of before during and the aftermath. I can only assume now without these photos that we looked similar to this photo, different species though 🤣

I had a bird that would crawl underneath a blanket and demand to be petted on your lap and if you moved the blanket it would hiss. BIRDS ARE WEIRD!
