50 Unforgettable Moments Captured When Animals Did Something Hilariously Silly (New Pics)
When it comes to internet humor, animal photos are the new cat's meow. These wacky, wild, and sometimes weird images have taken the internet by storm and left us all feeling pawsitively entertained. From an owl delivering a Hogwarts letter, to a bear taking a snooze in a bird's nest, to a turtle trying to eat a Christmas decoration thinking it's a giant tomato, these pictures are definitely going to put a smile on your face.
But why do we love these funny animal photos so much? For starters, they're the perfect escape from the daily grind. These images offer a moment of belly laughs and silly giggles in an otherwise serious world. And let's be real, who doesn't love to see a cat napping in an absurd position or a dog playing with its toys in the most ridiculous way possible? These animal antics are a universal language that speaks to us all, no matter our age, culture, or background. If you'd like to see more of these wonderful darlings, here's an article we've done previously, oh and another one! Now let's get into it!

If we had to choose what to fill our time with, many of us would most likely choose the relaxing and joy-inducing activity of watching animals causing an adorable ruckus. They provide a much-welcomed escape from staring at a colored slab all day, be it your laptop screen, the TV, or the ever-stimulating phone.
Besides, these cuties are very shareable. Be it friends, family, or coworkers that you still tolerate, everyone benefits from seeing a lion snuggling inside a cardboard box or a tiny turtle munching on a leaf whilst judging everyone else’s life choices. Hey, if I could’ve chosen, being a human in the 21st century wouldn’t have been top of the list!
My Grandma..
Wtf this is called “hilarious goofy animals to brighten up your day” not “animals to go make you sob in a corner” 😡😭
This is why i moved into my dads house after he passed. He has all of neighborhood barn cats coming into his barn everyday to eat. He's been trying to get them fixed one by one. When he died they all would sit in the driveway waiting. I have cats. I run a TNR program in my city. So I couldn't just leave them. So we're renovating my dads house & I'm finishing what he started. Any of the cats that are semi friendly or even ones that aren't friendly but super dependent on my dad/now me are going to be moving with us back to my home. We're going to build them their own 1/2 acre enclosure & mini barn. Just like we have for our feral cats because the thought of leaving & then they all show up to eat.. but no one is here... it breaks my heart. But any of the cats that are super anchored to this town & that I don't think will do good being moved are going to stay. We worked out a deal with my dads friend/neighbor. We send food & he'll feed. But a lot of these cats are so sweet. I love them!
That is so incredible!! Thank you for helping them

Sadly, wild animals that become dependent on humans for food often wind up unable to fend for themselves...and, when deprived of the food source they've grown accustomed to, can become aggressive. Judging by the date on the photo, these animals either got the help they needed, or didn't; there's nothing to be done now. But please, for the love of God, don't feed wild animals (with the possible exception of bird feeders); if a wild animal is in need of help, grab your phone, pull up your favorite search engine, and call a local wildlife rehabilitator. They know how to aid animals in such a way that they stay wild and can eventually be released; those that can't be released (injuries that will prevent them from being able to hunt, orphaned with no way to learn foraging/hunting skills, etc), they have the resources to find someone with the necessary licenses to provide sanctuary for wild animals.
Platypus Babies Are Called "Puggles"
It is very cute, but it also remains not real. Its an artdoll, but I am failing to find the artist atm.

Load More Replies...Sorry to say this... but this is just a plush toy... just google it and/or watch videos of baby playtypusses (?).
This reminds me of that painting of a Sniffler in the Harry Potter universe
I actually believe that is a remarkably made stuffed animal as it looks a little but too "cute and fluffy" for the real thing. Here is a photo of a baby platypus (aka a puggle) for reference: Puggles-63...a16eac.jpg
Not only are animals entertaining, but they’re also good for our health! Yeah, no kidding! Studies have shown that interacting with animals (even fish!) helps lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, and decrease depression. Furthermore, they help create a sense of calm and comfort; truly, can anything be wrong in the world when a panda is rolling down a hill?
The effect is further amplified when the animal is doing something surprising or unexpected. Psychologically, the surprise appearance of a cute furry friend causes a cognitive orienting response. In the case of animals, it’s a pleasant surprise and the unexpected pleasure of seeing something funny when we were expecting something more mundane that triggers a positive response (in this case smiling or even laughing).

“There is no doubt there is a short-term burst of happiness,” explains University of Victoria neuroscientist Olav Krigolson. “That should lead to better cognitive function for the short term. Staring at cute things activates the amygdala [an area of the brain that deals with emotions] and other emotional areas of the brain, which ramps up other cognitive systems.”
“So there is a benefit. What makes it particularly powerful is when the emotional response and reward are wrapped together,” he said. The cute image delivers the brain a minuscule blast of dopamine, working the same chemical reward system activated by drugs like cocaine. It makes us come back for more before we are even conscious we want to.

As interesting as this all is, there are certain ways of enhancing these positive feelings during a time of high stress, which may then lead to better results at work or school. The University of Leeds conducted a study in which a 30-minute montage of images and videos of cute animals was shown to 19 participants, many of whom were students due to take an exam 90 minutes after the session, with the remainder being academic support staff who had declared they were feeling stressed from work.
They had their heart rate and blood pressure measured before and after the study, with the majority wearing a heart-rate monitor throughout. The study produced both physiological and psychological findings. “Throughout the course of the session, heart rates and blood pressure fell across all individuals to a level that would be considered healthy and indicative of limited stress or anxiety,” stated Dr. Andrea Utley.
This Owl Captured Child's Hobby Horse And Carries It Around The Town
Looks like the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz flying on her broom from far away. The origin story for witches flying on broomsticks just might be someone seeing a large owl carrying something similar (you know, like a broomstick) from far away and/or in dim light. Ya never know.
Omg I've seen a clip like this in Paranormal Caught on Camera! They think it's a witch. So funny!
I want a follow-up to know for sure that the owl's talons weren't caught in the horse and the owl was stuck. I want to know that someone saw the owl after it dropped the horse.
Eric Lind, the photographer, stated that he has seen the owl adjust its grip and reposition the toy horse.

“Ultimately, the cuteness response is an important adaptation for us. Without it, I simply don’t think we’d survive as a species,” says Morten Kringelbach, professor of neuroscience at Oxford University and Aarhus University (Denmark). As humans, who come into the world too early, “we need a lot of care—and need to make sure our young are appealing enough to receive it.”
However, on average, puppies and kittens scored higher on the cuteness scale than humans. And, if you ask me, for good reason. Scientists believe that the powerful nurturing instinct we have for our own children spills over into an affection for anything that even loosely resembles them.
“Animals like dogs and cats have been essentially bred to look like babies,” says Kringelbach. “They have the big eyes, they have the big ears. When you see them, your brain is thinking ‘this could be a baby’. And it’s only later on, by the time you already have reacted, you say ‘oh, that’s not a baby. But maybe I should still look anyway!’”

Look at the collar... This is a pet!! Why would you do that? Beautiful, but belongs in the wild.
Some cats like this are rescued from crummy traveling circuses, like Messi, who was adopted as a tame pet by a Russian couple. He was stunted and neglected but he has adapted to being a house puma. He would not have survived in the wild because he was separated from his mother at a very young age.
Load More Replies...I can do that. The only people I know who can do it are me, and this cat. Mabye it's just something cats do.
People are legally allowed to keep servals and caracals as pets in certain countries. Like Russia. :( Also, some REALLY shady people crossbreed caracals and servals with domestic cats to make fancy "hybrid" cats - which can be dangerously aggressive and are usually much larger than their domestic cat parent.

Talking to the other sharks "In my day we ate dodo, dodo breakfast, dodo for lunch and dodo for tea. These days it's all processed surfer...."
Scientists have suspected for a while that Greenland sharks lived extremely long lives, but they didn’t have a way to determine how long. The age of other shark species can be estimated by counting growth bands on fin spines or on the shark’s vertebrae, much like rings on a tree. Greenland sharks, however, have no fin spines and no hard tissues in their bodies. Their vertebrae are too soft to form the growth bands seen in other sharks. Scientists could only guess that the sharks lived a long time based on what they knew — the sharks grow at a very slow rate (less than 1 cm per year) and they can reach over 6 meters in size. 1/2
But recent breakthroughs allowed scientists to use carbon dating to estimate the age of Greenland sharks. Inside the shark’s eyes, there are proteins that are formed before birth and do not degrade with age, like a fossil preserved in amber. Scientists discovered that they could determine the age of the sharks by carbon-dating these proteins. One study examined Greenland sharks that were bycatch in fishermen’s nets. The largest shark they found, a 5-meter female, was between 272 and 512 years old according to their estimates. Carbon dating can only provide estimates, not a definitive age. 2/2
Load More Replies...Greenland sharks are fascinating, almost all of them are blind as a parasitic worm moves into their eyes. They can't age a shark while it's alive.

Load More Replies...I think I'm right in saying that scientists can radiocarbon date the lenses in their eyes. Sadly a technique only possible on 'ex' sharks.
Load More Replies...Is this a Greenland shark?? I've read about them, marine biology is fascinating!!
Age is determined kind of like determining the age of a tree. Sharks form what are called vertebral bands and new ones are laid down annually.

Whichever it is, science and smart people aside, one thing is for sure—funny animal photos serve as a reminder that even the most mundane moments in life can be made special by the presence of an animal. They remind us to take a step back and appreciate the simple things in life, and to cherish the moments that bring us the most happiness.

Good for Australia and other countries which prohibit imports of exotic species. Many North American ecosystems are under siege by invasive species of animals and plants, many from the pet trade. The US seems to have the "if I want it I can have it" attitude when it comes to pets. Little is regulated, oversight and licensing is minimal to nonexistent for ownership and breeding of animals for the pet trade. Many people can't or don't want to understand what it takes to care for animals, subsequently pets get dumped in local forests, ponds, fields, lakes, rivers and end up dying a cruel death or worse; thriving. Look no further than the Florida Everglades for prime example of imported snakes and lizards wreaking havoc on local flora and fauna. Sad.

Fair warning (for US atleast): be cautious if you ever decide to put food out for animals. Aside from the normal issues that can occur such as getting attacked or the animal becoing dependent, there are laws in place that can get you fined. This can be confused for baiting which hunters sometimes do as an unfair and unsportsmanlike advantage and can get you fined by Fish and Wildlife officers.

Funny
To bed fair, he doesn't have teeth of his own. Can't blame him for wanting to try them.
Funny picture. I don't think it's funny for the denture's owner, though.

Angel: Well, Canada sure is the most wonderful place to live with its magical landscapes and extraordinarily kind people! God: Yeah, yeah, it's a tad unbalanced, Imma give 'em winter and geese
Sign should read: "Aggressive geese...turn around if you value your life!"
Where I live, the local authorities are currently culling Canada geese. This reminds me why.
Leave the geese alone! They'll just come back.

Cow Spotted Chewing On A Large Python In Outback Australia
Casual geographic : " Australia has no food chain, its a f8cking free-for-all."
Cows are well documented to eat meat when they can get it, as will deer. If they find a bird's nest they will eat the chicks. The extra protein and calcium are too valuable to pass up.

The more I see these, the more I revise my wish to visit Australia one day.
Aww...come, please, it's an amazing country...rainforest, deserts, bushland, beaches, the birds and frogs are safe, unless it's spring and the magpies are swooping, but that has never happened to me. Respect the wildlife...no patting strange animals, they are more scared of us than we are them

I Caught A Yawn...
Interesting! Rabbits cannot breathe through their mouths, only through their noses, so I would not think that they yawned traditionally. Usually critters yawn when tired to gulp in a big boost of oxygen, and a rabbit literally physically cannot draw in air via its mouth.
No rodents can breathe through mouths but they have the cutest yawns, could be just as a stretch, to loosen muscles. Funniest yawn ever is tortoises, they yawn in slow motion 😊

Baby Ducks In The Lake
It looks like someone’s thoughtfully provided them with a mobile duck pond too.
You're not supposed to back your vehicle into the lake too when you're launching your boat!
an expensive mistake they will only make once (hopefully)

Can’t see the license tags to know exactly where this is. However, their shape looks like they could be from several middle eastern countries, but also North, Central, and South America, and a few other countries as well. I say this because I live in Maryland, and on my way to and from work, I pass by a property that has two camels, a water buffalo, and a few alpacas quite contentedly living there. I have even seen the camels walking around in the snow. So there are people far from the desert who have camels.
I'm from MD too! Grew up in MoCo, now live in FredCo

Why I Also Did Not Swim In South Korea (Mother's Foot For Scale)
Omg what is it? It looks like a cross between a placenta and a liver. Except massive.
Why is this on a funny animal list? It looks like a coughed up lung.
I'm South Korean and I've lived on various beaches as my dad was a RoK Naval officer, I've never seen that!
I've never seen a shark in person, but I know they're still out there while I'm swimming in the ocean.

I'm pretty sure she knows what she's doing. If the turtle could bite her it would have already done so by now.

Bored Panda is not known for doing a good job of stealing content from Reddit and other sites, so they often repost or post different pics with the same captions, or same pics with different captions, etc XD
