Most people no longer have to live in the “jungle”, therefore there is no need to constantly worry about one’s survival. It gives us plenty of free time if only we take a minute to actually enjoy it or use it in a way that makes us happy. However, it would be a mistake to assume that there is nothing out there that can end you, either by doing its job slowly and unnoticed or just taking a split second. Scarily enough, there might be things that you thought might do you no harm, and yet their appearance was misleading. These seemingly small or beautiful things can have different features from what you initially expected. So watch out! There might be a coconut coming to get you.

I could've died and likely would have if I didn't have my first in the hospital - placenta wouldn't budge and then I started haemorrhaging - but I was perfectly fine thanks to excellent care here in Scotland. Went on to have three more kids with very few issues, although I was induced each time around two weeks early due to my history of bigger babies, my first was 10lbs 10 at nine days overdue, so it's likely I could've gotten into more dangerous territory if left to go naturally. I'm definitely not risking any more babies though, my body has been through enough

Constantly amazed that the human race got past the first birth. How anyone saw that and thought it was a good idea is beyond me.
Yet some people want to take away the right to abortion, even in cases of abuse. This keeps me up at night, knowing that somthing could happen to me in the future and i would have to give birth, like it or not.

Agreed. This is horrifying. The United States is a military nation and generates revenue from all means possible. The ‘healthcare’ system uses the population as a source of revenue. ‘Insurance’ is priced so high that an estimated 16 percent cannot afford health insurance. People are bankrupted by the system, losing their home to pay for eg. cancer treatment. The system has allowed real estate bubbles, tech bubbles and other means for the government to seize assets through banks, mortgage companies, tech companies. This isn’t random and is used to fuel more wars to take resources from other countries.

Took 2 weeks time off from work recently. First thing I had to learn was that the job will still be done without me. Second thing I had to learn was that I was not being lazy for taking the time off. Iirc the reason they're dangerous isn't that people aren't aware that Blue Ringed Octopus are deadly poisonous. It's because they're not aware they don't always have blue rings, they just show them when they're stressed. So people find little octopuses in tide pools and such and think they must be fine since they don't have any blue rings.

Humans are squishy unless they aren't. Somehow we have evolved to either have the durability of a bouncy ball or a glass bauble and its a coin flip on whether you bounce or shatter.
So: Fights. People think it's like in the movies, and sure, maybe sometimes things go okay and you work it out and everythings chill, but if you pick a fight in real life you had better be very ready for the possibility that you could [end] someone, even (ESPECIALLY) if you don't mean to. If you shove someone and they fall wrong, they can die. If they hit their head, or YOU hit them in the head wrong (if you hit someone in the nose just right, a bone can pierce brain, the temple is a very vulnerable spot, etc), they can die. People don't always fight fair in real life, there's every chance they have a knife or keys or rings or even a gun, or they pick up a f*****g shovel and throw it at your head like that video that went viral several years ago. This isn't a "I'm a badass who could totally [end] someone" thing, it's more a survivor bias thing. On average? Yeah, you'll probably be okay. But I'd rather not take the chance, personally.
And no one in movies breaks their hand or finger from punching a skull. That hurts.

Every few years I get a fire safety training, or whatever it is called. There you learn how to operate a fire extinguisher. Which is not that hard, but it's good to learn what to do in a controlled environment when you're not in a panic. The trainers always show the grease fire explosion. They heat a bit of vegetable oil, set in on fire, and then pour water into it (with a loooong pole) Those fireballs are truly impressive and utterly terrifying. You have to see one to really understand what a bad combination water and burning oil is.

Fumes from welding galvanized steel contains cyanide. Drinking milk or something containing calcium helps when you're overcome by the poison until you get medical attention. In other words, don't try to weld galvanized steel.
I try to avoid that, unless I get bored of wrangling hippos and catching blue ringed octopus, while on a ladder, blowing up a balloon, after taking a handful of Tylenol.
