was a teen in early 70s and went through the i don't want to be like the other girls. then, one day while i was in the middle of one of these moments my mom started to laugh. when asked why she was chortling so much she told me: for all of you teen girls who want to look and/or be different from the others you all look the same - long hair, the clothes, etc. if you want to be unique then step of that box and be what you want to me not what you thi nk you should be. the next week i cut off my butt length hair & permed it and started making some of my own clothes so i would have my own style. been that way ever since. i like me.

All I see is a bunch of people that were never given enough attention growing up. They want to be noticed. Here's the thing...criminals get noticed...corrupt politicians get noticed...out of control celebrities get notice. Getting noticed isn't always a good thing. Especially if you lack humility and come off as a pompous entitled person because then you get noticed for all the wrong reasons.
From my experience women are the worst enemy of other women. I grew up with a sister, work in a field with a lot of women around - and the majority of the conversations is gossip about how bad some other woman is.
My sister noticed that too. She became an HVAC tech in a field predominately occupied by men. She said men may tell vulgar jokes and can be a little too flirty, but they will never gossip about you or stab you in the back the way female co-workers do.
