That cannot be the same dog. "before" is so skinny and much smaller and the fur-types is totally different.
If that's a Schnauzer, it doesn't really go with the typical breed I suppose. I prefer a beard, and eyebrows.
Thats my issue with most of these cuts. Not only is the dog unrecognizable, so is the breed.

The founder of Shu and Tree told us that they love animals and have raised their puppy since they were a young adult. "It was fun giving my puppy bath and hair cut and made me naturally want to be a dog groomer," they told us.
According to the founder, starting the Shu and Tree YouTube page wasn't anything special: "I just wanted to save some records of the dogs with their new haircut. I started making videos and uploading them on YouTube to keep the files. The videos became popular for dog lovers and we made better videos with comments and requests from subscribers."
The business usually grooms about 7 to 8 puppies each day or "about 150 puppies on average a month." The founder told Bored Panda that even though the coronavirus pandemic has had some impact on the business, it hasn't much affected the reservations for dog grooming visits. "People feel assured since our shop is located in the suburb area."
Apart from him not being able to see, I like the look in the first picture better. He looks more doglike and less Barbie doll Paris Hilton toy dog-like.
The puppy looks more like a stuffed animal than a dog in the second photo.
Not sure which I prefer. First one looks so loveable. Second one looks very tidy but somehow less approachable.
Dog still looks approachable, she looks very behave. Sitting like a prim and proper pupper.
Load More Replies...Second picture is better but I have to wonder if it's the same dog colour is alot different
Shu and Tree added that they'll keep trying to reduce the stress that dogs feel during haircuts and to help them feel comfortable and cared after. "We hope that all puppies are happy with their owners."
People watch Shu and Tree’s dog grooming videos by the millions and it’s easy to see why—they’re an instant mood-booster. The soundtrack’s fun and watching the step-by-step process as the groomers work their makeover magic on doggos is strangely relaxing.
The videos are perfect if you need a break from work or studying and help you lose yourself in the wholesomeness.
the dog went from "Ugh, I don't care about how I sit" to "I shall sit elegantly and smile by the beauty of my haircut"
looks like he might have a little jack russel in him- but i'm no dog expert, so don't listen to me.
Why can't people just let a dog look like a dog rather than a stuffed toy? What's the problem with dogs looking normal?
A lot of people are wowed by the massive transformations the dogs go through and point out that the pets end up looking almost unrecognizable.
Shu and Tree have a simple work philosophy and they advocate three things: style, uniqueness, and comfort. What’s more, they regularly post heartwarming content about pets on their social media accounts, so it’s not all just about dog grooming. They’ve got some photos and videos of cats, too, for all of you kitten lovers out there!
The business also sells some incredibly adorable dog clothes on their website.
I wanna squeeze the Dickens out of it EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! ITS. SOOOOO. CUTE!!
Am I the only one that thinks the dog looks better in the "before" picture?
I do love the "Benji" scruffy look myself as well....
Load More Replies...Mine looks like the before pi&I trim her myself I don't like that perfect look
We have Bishons who look just like the one on the left. I'd rather have them be their natural self, not look like they're stuffed animals. To me, the one on the right looks unnatural. We groom ours and let their natural beauty show, not look like they go to a salon every day. Sorry, but to each their own.
Nothing wrong w having a cute little dog. I've always had small house lap dogs and would pay extra if my groomers could make mine look like this.
Load More Replies...I think they reassembled this creature incorrectly. His head isn't on straight.
beatiful and silky now. At least they didn't chop off all that glorious , silky fur!
From the documentary "When plastic surgery goes overboard: the dog edition"?
OMGosh this one must be a stuffed animal. How can anything be so huggably perfect either way?
I would be so mad if my dog came back from the groomers looking like some of these dogs. I hope the parents asked for it.
The groomer is not really good with their faces. This is too short too, like so many of these pictures.
Too short? I am still trying to figure out why they all have to be round...
Load More Replies...Head is too wide on a long thin neck on the after pic making him look deformed
some doggos are not meant to be clipped. this one just looks wrong.
I know what's up with that? It looks photoshopped in like half the pictures.
Load More Replies...Sadly, he is fat. Ugly trim just makes it even more visible (so maybe now the people can set a diet? In that case, it would at least do something good)
Load More Replies...Pomeranians do not need to be trimmed. Don't any groomers know what these breeds of dogs are supposed to look like?
While they do not need trimming, trimming in itself does not damage the coat and can help take care of split or damaged ends. The final look is dependent on what the pet parent wants. Because these are house pets and not show dogs there is no set standard. The industry is also constantly changing and what is deemed stylish changes. The groomer did a fine job and simply did what the pet parent wants. As someone who grooms for a living, I hear these kind of things a lot. We are all well versed in breed cuts, they just don't matter outside of kennel clubs.

WTF?!?! This is a dog, people, not a plush toy or a Barbie doll!! Let your dogs be dogs!!
don't worry, from my personal experience, the plush looks lasts until about the first outside walk or messy meal :D
Load More Replies...Look at the hand. You can tell the personality of the owner of that hand.
The gould news is I can now see. The bad news I can see I look like a dork.
Why a disaster? The dog looks clean and well styled.
Load More Replies...Here's my two cents on these. If the dog sees better, can smell things better, is cooler in hot weather, and seems to like the attention, then Hey! Goodness all around if Fido feels better.
I have seen similar puppy cuts on Shi Tzus and Lasahs of all ages, but never the head looking like a pom-pom with eyes.
Having a shih Tzu myself this is one way they are groomed . By leaving their hair long it mats and is too hot for them especially in the summer . You have to keep the hair out their eyes or they develop eye irritation. The dogs are much happier being groomed instead of left unkept
I wouldn't want to be rude to the groomers style, but, as my opinion, I like the fluffier on better than the smooth edges.
You are not rude but here it is. The owner wants this cut, you show them pictures of their dog and the cut for them but they want this cut so you tell the over that this cut is much more expensive to make them change their stupid minds but no they want this cut and the dog turns out like every dog in these pictures.
Load More Replies...Long haired dogs take a lot of grooming time. He will be much easier to care for with his new haircut!
Wrong breed for this! Get a poodle if you want to make your dog look like different things and leave the double-coated dogs alone! WTH, this should be a crime (also, f**k the internet for making this look popular!)
I have to say my Yorkie mix would never sit still long enough for this, he got rejected by the Pet Smart people who I promptly reported to the manager who got very unhappy with them.
This pup looks beautifully cared for in the "before" photo, unlike many of the dogs on this thread.
I see the same 'groomer' got their hands on this victim before...yikes.
This pupper was really cute before the grooming. Why would you do that to a dog..?
I agree. Why do they all look like they went through a diet?? just tidy up their fur a bit, don't chop off all the fluffiness.
Load More Replies...DID THEY CUT HIS EARS OFF? WHY IS IT ALL OR NOTHING? IS THERE NO IN BETWEEN?
Err... I think the hairstlyer wanted to make him/her look like the cutest dogin the world: Boo
I like the picture with the hair better. This fig looks better with its hair
In what way is this abuse? Dog is free of tangles, hair is out of the eyes and ears. It’s okay to leave parts of the dog longer as long as it’s maintained. The hair is also out of the mouth so food and water won’t build bacteria.
Load More Replies...All dogs are cute no matter what. But what did the groomer do?! Is he playing with his razors? I can't take the ears :(
ok it will grow back, but wth look at this natural fluffy darling
All of these photos go to prove something we women have known for ages. A good/bad haircut makes a world of difference.
I definitely prefer the "before" pictures!!! If my dog groomer made my dogs look like stuffed toys I would strangle him, and he knows it! :-o
They have taken dozens of adorable dogs and turned them into stuffed looking animals. It's not natural looking. These groomers are very obviously Asian, this is a very popular style in China. Not that I care what race they are, but I like my dogs more natural looking
Oh man, they all look ridiculous after! They’re dogs, not stuffed animals!
nobody is stuffing them Demi! that takes taken and guts to create something. why do you think it’s okY to call someone’s work rediculous. why don’t you ask questions to better understand maybe the inspiration or maybes it’s a style of grooming, or how did they achieve the look. the only thing ridiculous is your lack of culture and diversity!
Load More Replies...It looks like the groomer is kind of a one trick pony. They are all groomed the same and I would be so mad if my dog came home looking like that.
Just like the “makeup artists” who do “makeovers” of women, making every client look the same (and creepy/fake as f**k).
Load More Replies...Some of these cuts are cute but some are so weirdly odd. I would want to keep my dog home until they had grown out a bit.
They strive for "uniqueness", but all of their cuts are typical "show poodle". Every one of them.
Not even that. Show-poodles come in a lot more variety ;-) This is "make my dog look like a Teddy Bear"-style...
Load More Replies...Oh no how can a groomer cut spitzes hair? I thought that they were professionnals. And how it is possible to get dogs and don't even know basic things about their health and wellbeing? They need their fur to keep cool in summer, and warm in winter, it's basically their double glazing windows. Too sad even my dog is confused, facepawlming! 20181021_1...895fe0.jpg
Finally someone who knows that their hair or fur is important to their well-being. Thank goodness this groomer didn't get its shaver on a Colley or a Shetland. Can you imagine a St. BERNARD With such a haircut?
Load More Replies...If I had a dog companion, I would only have the hair around her (because I would adopt a female) eyes trimmed if necessary. Bathing and brushing the fur only as required. I'm not fond of treating an animal like topiary!
Depending on the breed/mix, I would totally go to the groomers if the fur required it. some dogs are so small and so heavily furred, they get dirt and other stuff stuck in their fur and don't ever really dry because their hair gets constantly wet. But there's still a difference between giving them a good 'work-look' and making them look like idiots that no other dog will recognize... So I'm with you. (I also prefer breeds with 'normal' hair ;-) )
Load More Replies...They all look like stuffed toys after the grooming.. I prefer them before!
Same here! If my dog groomer made my dogs look like stuffed toys I would strangle him. He did it once and will never do it again! Hahaha!
