Why are the good-old-days always behind us? Sure, your TV is 20lb lighter than it was 10 years ago, but you've put on 20lb of weight in the meantime; your old Nokia cellphone was so durable it damaged the floor when you dropped it, but your new iPhone costs as much as a fresh organ on the black-market, and shatters into pieces at the slightest touch.

This open-list has some of our favorite then-and-now comparisons. Can you think of any funny juxtapositions? Vote on your favorite below, or post your own!

I am 45, and I was on the A/B honor roll all through school. My daughter was the same way. She is now 20, in her 3rd year of college to be a nurse and she is engaged to be married in the coming fall. As you can see I am extremely proud of her. She, Thank God, has both book sense and common sense. I am truly blessed.

In the old days the quality of TV shows was not as good as it is today (although there is still a lot of c**p being shown). People were more active. Now we can just watch people being active. The advent of the remote control is also a factor - now we just exercise our thumbs by pushing buttons on it.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE star wars ep 4-6... But working w/ CGI has helped George share with us his dreams and imagination far more than he could w/ scale models and his analog babies... So I think this one has made Star Wars turn for the better.

that's ironic since eps 1-3 were really bad stories. eps 4-6 were cases of how limitations can spark one's imagination as a film maker and as audience

CGI is way more convincing than anything you could achieve with a load of plastic toys. But seeing the lame comments here, it's obvious little boys prefer their little toys.

Well for having an european point of view in the western part of US as I have passed 1 year there. I can say from the moment where the Californians' wineries are buying a lot of land in Oregon to get more water and also how richest californian are buying hay to poor Oregonian because not enough grow in California anymore. Well, Californian must think about a way to manage better this resource instead of drain water from mountains to make grow GMO's corn, to be then pollute by chemicals because of californian lobby. Like said Angela, get out of your bubble, it's amazingly scary what you are up to fight against in the near future.

The 2000s drought in Australia, also known as the Millennium drought, is said by some to be the worst recorded since settlement.[1] The drought began in 1995 and continued Australia wide until late 2009 with the final areas in drought ceasing to be eligible in early May 2012.[2][3] With the official end of the drought declared in 2012, the Federal Government had provided $4.5 billion in drought assistance.[4]

A drought isn't something to make fun of Miss, regardless of where they are located. In my Caribbean country, just before the rainy season started, we had a drought for over three months, that alone drove us crazy, I can't even begin to imagine how Californians are feeling. Now I'm here waiting for our grass to turn back green (island wide), meanwhile they are still waiting for that drought to end! Droughts are a pain!!

Are you referring to CA being located next to the Pacific Ocean? If so, you should read about the extreme drought and how being next to an ocean doesn't help us yet because there's no efficient way of desalinating salt water.

I play a game with my friends when we go out for dinners. We stack all our phones on top of each other with the vibrate setting on. If anyone looks at their phone they have to pay for everyone's meal. Works on pretty much anyone :3

Well, in this example, that was the most boring conversation the could've had.i'd rather have no conversation at all. But, yeah, there's a point, it gets pretty boring when everybody takes out their phones and you are left to feeling forever alone even when physically surrounded by people.

Whenever my family goes out to dinner together we always make it device free. We all really enjoy it and have good conversation. Sometimes it's nice to talk to actual people than to stare at your phone.

Nope. I LOVE being able to look stuff up, rather than having to try to remember what it was that I wanted to know and have to go to the library to attempt to find it out. Not that I'm against libraries, I love them, used to work in them.

I tell ya, sometimes I feel the need to kick these young(and sometimes older) men when I pass them on the road. -__-. At least it's not all men who dress this way, thank goodness for that. (But why is it that the ones who do wear baggy pants are always in plain sight? We don't want to see you) In my country it's still very much in :(, along with the skinny jeans fad. I can't stand it! Like Chris said, it shows a lack of respect. I can never understand their need to dress like that.

That's a stupid answer. Because stuff exists does not imply god put it there. In fact, "it's god" is the same weak answer people too lazy to research have been putting out for millennia. Slowly, science has taken them and found the real cause. It's only a matter of time because each and every thing that people have previously claimed is god will be shown to be totally unconnected to god. It's 2015, I can't believe we're still having this debate. God is such an absurd idea, mostly believed by poor people in the middle east and idiots in America. Most of Europe has grown up.
