I notice your feline friend doesn't have a clipped ear. In a lot of areas that means they have not been TNR. If you can catch it, please take it to the vet to be checked over, and neutered if necessary. I'm so glad you're taking care of them, it's a really cute house.

There were so many stray cats in my old neighborhood, so I began caring for them. You know the situation... what's one more. Finally, I attached a heated room to the house, with their own door into the enclosed yard with another into the house.

Just in case regular bottle depots weren't enough motivation to collect your households refundables (I don't know if that is what they are called everywhere, but that is what they are called in my province of Canada)! This is brilliant! I would be totally OK not getting some money back from my empty (and rinsed out to avoid attracting wasps!) beverage containers if it meant I was feeding a stray dog! British Columbia, Canada get on this! One billion billion upvotes from this Canadian!

🤣🤣 I just blew coffee everywhere lol!! Because my chihuahua would LOVE this! Lmao Not only does she love cuddle time, we have 4 cats & 2 other dogs and she has to sniff the entire family’s butt at least 10 times a day. This is BRILLIANT. I have an 80 lb lab who loves to sleep on/between my legs, which is more than fine cuz I get to rub his super soft ears. 😊 But I recently had knee surgery and he's so sad that he can't lay with me the way he's used to. This just made both of our days! (Actually lol it'll make both of our nights)

Awww, poor puppy and you! Ouch. I had a cat who loved to sleep curled up around my feet. Then I had to have a couple surgeries on my one foot and she was devastated every time I had to shoo her away. She never did this to my husband. I think she knew before my surgeon that there was a problem with my foot. Turned out I had a cyst and a bone spur in my ankle from an injury in high school.

California alone has almost half of the nation's chronic homeless. Wonder if this is cataracts? I checked - they do lens replacement surgery on dogs but its 2500 - 4000 US dollars. Maybe its too much money for an older dog who might be a surgerical risk?

Love this! When I was younger, my mom had the most athletic cat ever. She could jump over and back to the ledge of similar type of second story window. (I swear I also saw her jump down a flight of stairs and manage to turn into the doorway of the connecting room, while mid-air.) Cats!

We recently bought a TV and a computer. Neither one had this. We always turn boxes inside out before we put them at the trash and it wasn't on either side ☹️ we must have got old ones before the new design. Also a toilet tank box makes a cute cat house though. They are shaped like a little house.

There’s a restaurant in Portland, Oregon called the Tin Shed. They have very nice all-weather patio seating where dogs are welcome, and they also have a similar dog menu. There’s usually quite the wait to get in on the weekends.

There's a deli near us that caters to dog owners. I honestly had a hard time telling the difference between the human and dog menu. They have salads with safe for dog veggies (and non spiced meat) they will eat! I wish they had places like that when I had a dog!

I have a café with dog menu - the food for dogs has to be suitable for humans too. It's not permitted to mix kitchens. (Dogs do get separate bowls to eat from too - not washed with the human bowls)

Not true. When my dogs have had an operation, the vets have advised to give them some bland food such as chicken or scrambled eggs. As long as they are properly cooked and not had anything added to them the doggos will be fine 😊

The dog I had as a kid liked to stick his nose into a hole in the fence of the backyard. It was only big enough for his nose but I wish we had thought to expand it and add an awning. He would have loved that. He adored the neighborhood kids stopping by to interact with him - this would have allowed actual pets and not just boops.

A lot of dog owners in the US have these large cutouts in their fences at dog-level covered by a clear plastic dome so doggo can poke his head out and see what's up. Very cute!

My parents had a dog who loved to look through the slats of the fence but after a few escapes they had to replace it with one much taller and without slats. To keep the pups happy, they cut two holes in fence at dog face level, one on either side of the house. The dog stopped escaping but every time someone walked past they would hear a small scream followed by a second, louder scream about 45 seconds later.

My dogs have these! Great for dark colored pups at night and (if you're not visually impaired) they work good as mini path lights when walking your dog through a campround at night (i.e. can sometimes skip the flashlight)! And for the person who asked about name / brand, mine are by Nite Ize (night howl disc-select rechargeable). Same collar can be green, blue, red, or rotating colors.

The one we have is from Noxgear & it's the harness style. It works great, but I can say that we only chose the brand because we also bought Noxgear light up human harnesses for hiking at the same time. Seems like we could have found one just as good, but better priced. No complaints so far though. It does work well for providing a little light during camping, and we used the "multicolor mode" when we took our dog to a Pride month dog meet up event 😊

My dog has this, she's black so visibility at night is a problem. It's a rechargeable LED (we've had it for months and not even needed to recharge yet), you cut it to fit, and we just slip it right over her head and she can be seen on night walks. HIGHLY recommended for all doggies.

You should still check the temperature before allowing your dog to walk on it. Sometimes it doesn't cool off as fast as you'd expect, especially if it's fairly new.

Unfortunately they have paved all of the walking/bike trails in our area. Just 20 years ago most of them were dirt or sand. It was usually just paved in areas that might be washed out in heavy rain. Yes, sometimes you had to peddle harder but it also wasn't super hot in the summer. Then all the bike riders complained and it's almost all asphalt now. I actually preferred jogging on the dirt, less stress on my knees and ankles.

I was a long-distance runner throughout High School and College. None of my coaches would allow us to run on hard pavement. My dog is only 14 lbs and in the summertime, I will pick him up and carry him until I can find shade or non-pavement. I have a pavement thermometer in my car and at the back door. In summertime, I always check before I take him out. The normal asphalt temp is 135 to 145 in the summer.

I want this! But people sized, I have misophonia and live in a poorly soundproofed apartment building that was built in 1976 and can often hear my neighbours phone text buzz through our shared wall and mistakenly think it is mine. I'm not afraid of thunder (not really, only a little) or fireworks, I just don't like certain sounds.

My puppy has myoclonus (constant, uncontrollable full-body muscle twitches) from having distemper... I wonder if this chair would help him, as it could help him hold his body still to eat! He has to be hand-fed right now as his tics make it impossible for him to eat on his own.

What about all the dogs that love to drink from the toilet (assuming they're not prevented from doing so)? Dogs like gross things. Rolling in otter poop on the beach, eating their poop or other dogs or cats poop. Eating their own barf. I know there are some picky pets out there but there are just as many dogs who don't give a F what kind of water they get, they just want water.

I'm confused, what are the parts of the helmet that look like they would fit the dogs' ears for (on either side of the piece on the forehead that looks like a headlamp could clip to it or a "space buns" hairstyle on human females), if the ears are hanging down behind the chin strap?

My dog was the same way! Labrador retriever, loved all streams, ponds, mud puddles, and begrudging tolerated rain, but would walk a wide circle into the road if a lawn sprinkler dared to dampen the sidewalk. And he'd turn into an 80lb dead weight at bath time.

YES PLEASE. As a former grocery-store employee, it is so angering when a crappy, irresponsible owner walks their dog in on a leash (despite the no dogs allowed sign) and the dog urinates/defecates in the store as the owner watches, and then the owner just walks away from the mess, ignoring it. I've watched dogs lick/eat produce while the owner is oblivious. I've also seen dogs lunge, bark, and snap at other customers, as the poor pups are clearly terrified by being in the store (too much noise, too many people, too many smells, etc.) I LOVE dogs and I wish I could take my own puppy everywhere with me, but it's not fair to the dog - and to other customers - to drag your untrained, undisciplined pupper into a grocery store on just a leash.

Not counting legitimate service animals, I presume. I won't get into it but there are people who try to bring their regular pet (as in not a certified service animal) into a store and it causes distress to customers (and their service dogs) with a disability who have a legit service dog who are also in that store. Not cool, those people, be better.

Only service dogs should ever be allowed in food shops. In the UK, the owner would be denied entry (and unfortunately, some shop guards deny entry even to guide dogs) Most 'service dogs' are trained by charitable organisations - we don't have much of a thing about calling your pet a service animal, just because you love him and 'feel better' when s/he's around.

Thank you! I can't stand it when customers let their dog run loose or put it in the cart where the food goes. I have seen dog fights at work. It's ridiculous. I've seen way to many dogs poop and pee in the middle of the store. This is the only acceptable option besides just Don't bring your dog in the store.

The pet bowl has roughened areas in its plastic base in the shape of a paw. When water has been sitting around for too long, the sludge aggregates around the roughened plastic area - and leads to a paw symbol appearing!
After washing the bowl, the paw symbol is not immediately obvious but can be seen once you tilt the bowl and let the light hit it from a suitable angle.

I agree. Fresh water every day! Doesn't have to be filtered, unless your city's tap water is unsafe in some way. In that case, you probably have a built-in filter in your kitchen sink or fridge. I usually use a Brita pitcher but occasionally use tap water. My city has decent tasting and safe tap water.

Heard that someone bought a gel hottie for their chinchilla and had to fight to get it off them to reheat it. Should've bought 2, give them the newly heated one in return for the cool one. My dog's reaction to a hottie was 4 seconds of "Oh, no, I don't like it" followed by "MMMM, yeeeessss snuggly"

They get used to it, no they won't stand still like that, I had to hold mine with one arm and do the inhaler with the other hand. It only takes 15-20 seconds and a treat after it's done so most cats put up with it.

I don't know about placement. From floor to #1 looks easy, but tough to jump to middle #2. Window to highest seems a reach for even an agile cat, and what good is it when cat ages ? To be more crabby: the boxes are neat, but seem slippery; and what's with the "no view" window.? Mine has one that feeds him three times a day, the second he hears the engine start up he's gone. Pretty much teleports to the kitchen. It has a feature that let's you record something, like calling your pet I guess, but I knew that would he completely unnecessary before I even bought it.

Good for you. I know they look sad but you are doing the right thing. Pisses me off when a cat or dog is fatter than this or this size and people just go cute. What is cute? this is a health problem and severely diminishes thier life. Yes it can get out of hand but op loves thier animal to try and fix the situation. Though cat owners please contact your vet for any MAJOR diet. They have to be monitored by the vet and can't lose weight too fast or can get sick. Especially if they are very fat.

My cats would absolutely love this, but I'll admit that it would be a nightmare to clean all the hair, toys, and whatever else my fur beasts left in there out of it. Plus, I know that's where they would hide once it's time for their monthly claw clippings, ear cleanings, and flea treatments. Vet day would mean completely dismantling the bed. Not worth it in the long run.

We have two IKEA stores here, and at least one has the same dog station. At first, I thought it was a good idea, at least better than leaving my dog in a boiling hot car. But as I see it, I am the one responsible for the wellbeing of my dog, and I would never leave him there, knowing how evil humans can be. My dog trusts me and I practically trust no one when it comes to him. Besides, normally a trip to IKEA is planned and takes hours (I love it), then he goes to friends of mine. Or I buy with click & collect when I know exactly what I want. Never leave your dog with strangers.

I prefer those dog houses with air condition in the summer and heat in the winter. Between uses it’s sterilised with uv light. It’s usually outside of grocery stores, open and locks by an app. It’s safe quiet and a comfortable place for a dog to wait. And it’s free! It’s called Den4dogs. Check them out.

I used to take my dog Tucker to the grocery store, and "park" him by tying his leash a bit away from the door. I gave him his travel water bowl, and he got to visit with lots of people while I shopped. He was the friendliest dog I've ever seen, even now.

My concern, that's an indoor human heating pad. The wiring won't take weather well and claws can puncture the plastic to reach the heating element. Ok for a short term quick fix, but better to get or design something safe for the elements and can withstand claws and teeth.

I don't want to take away from the awesomeness of this idea, but I hope these cats are supervised so that in the hopefully rare situation that a neighbour dog or cat or other animal doesn't come along and attack the mesh tent and tear it or set off the cats inside and they tear it. It's a great idea but a catio or cat run with metal mesh (think stainless steel chicken wire) instead of fabric mesh would be safer and sturdier. I don't mean to criticize; I just have a couple of concerns.

Little Anubis Is Taking To His Feeder Like A Pro, Not Big Enough To Sit Up With The Top Cats Yet Though
Microchip feeder, it scans their microchip and opens for that cat only. Anubis isn't chipped yet so he is currently wearing an RIF tag that I registered to the feeder.
The company that makes them is SurePetCare.com they do feeder, pet doors and water bowls. I think they also do a tag that tracks your pets location and stuff too (not 100% on this one).

My younger cat is on a diet, and these microchip feeders have been a godsend. It keeps my younger boy out of the older girl's food, and vice versa! Plus the feeders close after the cat moves away, so they don't feel like they have to gorge their food in 1.5 seconds.

Unfortunately, a super food obsessed cat is not very likely to move away from the feeder, meaning it will not close and prevent overeating. I speak from 11 years of experience of being a pet sitter, to more than a few food obsessed cats. Only one of my cat owning clients has this kind of feeder, and her cats are, ironically, not very food obsessed. Please don't downvote me for saying this.🙏🏻🤞 I am speaking from a place of concern, not intending to offend anyone or break any Bored Panda guidelines. Cat is much safer in a carrier. A friend of mine was on a long motor trip out west and she did have her cats in carriers, but she let them out for a long stretch of highway. But she had to swerve suddenly and the car went down an embankment and rolled. The cats were terrified and bounded out through a broken window, and she never saw them again.

There's a frozen custard place in the nearest big city to my parents, about 50 minutes away. Every now and then, they'd take their Pomeranian and go for custard. The dog got a spoon or two of everyone's ice cream. Once, it was cold and rainy. The store is open air, and the line was very long. My parents decided to go to Baskin Robbins next door. They got the ice cream, gave the dog his, and the dog refused to eat it! I guess he figured if he went all that way, it was custard or nothing.

I realize that this 7-year-old (now 16, according to this post being 9 years old) may be just learning to read, so my comment comes off harsher than I meant it to. I wonder if OP's mom had removed them from the package and left them in the freezer just loose in their little tubs? If not, then the kid probably didn't bother reading the package - he saw a happy cartoon animal on the front, and a LOT of human popsicles/ice creams/etc use happy cartoon animals on their boxes XD I imagine it was more that the kid just "wanted ice cream" and didn't give a flip about paying attention ;)

I have two of these - one for both of my cats! The backpacks each have a custom cat decal with the cat's name on it :) My cats are both attention-loving, so they love when people come ooh over them in their "space bubble" carriers XD Plus they get to see/smell the outside world!

We rescued a dog who was almost a year old; he is now 8. His behavior gets worse with every nail trim, even though he has had ONLY ONE NAIL trimmed too close, so it bleed. He got his nails trimmed the other day. It took 3 Vet Tech and me to hold him, plus 1 Vet Tech to trim his nails! I’m down for anything which makes nail trims easier/cheaper for me.

That's why you gently start to teach the nail clipping when they are just little puppies. Then you don't need to do things like that. And if you can't clip the nails yourself just let the professionals do it. Please.

Had these as the dinners here in Spain het really not. However they only work if you can chill the mat itself down first, otherwise they don't do anything she are just expensive mats... Plus, if your dog likes to dig in a little before laying down, they are not really made for that either.
