The “Conservatives Getting Owned” X page has been around for a while now (since that auspicious year of 2020), and has accumulated an impressive 356 thousand followers. In this day and age, most of us know not to pick fights online. After all, there is no “winning” , just a battle to logging off in the mud.
This is perhaps why this page succeeds, as it does a vital job of showcasing the times where folks with questionable ideas had those same ideas obliterated by words. The idea of a person deciding to “report a crime” online no doubt came from pages like this. If that’s not enough, remember, there are all sorts of cases of people owning themselves.

Yes, let's elect people to give us gun rights over those that give us health care rights. Then when there is no health care we will have enough guns to hijack planes to places with health care.

I mean saying “we wouldn’t be here today if people didn’t do what they did yesterday” makes sense in literally any scenario. Insinuating that these current circumstances are the best things could ever possibly be and past human cruelties were inevitable is kind of weird and very unfair to those who suffered.
It is important to teach children about flaws made in the past, even if they have to do with the founding of your own country. Trying to cover any old wrongdoings up so you can maintain the dignity of the country is kind of….Soviet sounding honestly, sorry 🤷♀️
TBH, I hated history class up to 8th grade, because it was just boring names and dates and statues. But my 8th grade history teacher breathed life into history. He taught us about the people of the time, how they lived, what they wore, what they had for breakfast, etc. He taught us about the zeitgeist of the time. He taught us about the Native Americans’ experience with the colonies, then the country. He injected color and light and life into those names and dates. He even made the key people, the Founding Fathers, Washington, even George III come to life, as leaders of course, but also as flawed human beings. Ever since then, I have nurtured my love for history, but only if it has life to it. We have to know that historic figures weren’t perfect, weren’t always meticulous planners and often had to do things on the fly with zero preparation, and often achieved what they did, not because they were talented geniuses, but because of nothing but pure dumb luck. We have to understand the context of the times, and not judge them by our modern sensibilities. We have to face the fact that we did some heinous and shameful things along the way. Face it, understand it, recognize the signs of it, and prevent it happening again. I don’t know about anyone else, butI don’t like Hollywood cleaned up , prettified, and perfected history. I prefer my history to be gritty, realistic, difficult to hear, and populated by people just like us, warts and all.

You really need to accept that your country, like very many on this planet, does nor have a stellar history. You wanna teach the good parts? By all means, do so. But you need to acknowledge that it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows!

We are leaving out crucial context, which is that we did NOT invent any of the social ills for which our founders are being judged for with this. The world had it all, and usually worse by comparison. This is comparable for hating fish in one region, because they are wet.

We're getting to the point where having manners is "woke" because why be nice to people when you can be as rude as possible in the name of, I'm not sure what, patriotism or something? If some right wing podcaster decides it's a left wing thing to wear shoes, right wingers will stop wearing shoes. And then they'll look around and see that right wingers aren't wearing shoes while left wingers are, and that will cement wearing shoes as a left wing political statement.

i consider conservatives to be traitors to humanity. theres nothing good about any position they support. at all.
Take the 30 million and redesign an old school or hotel into housing units. People need a place to live NOT a study on their circumstances.
These kind of posts are so annoying. It seems like all that's on here now is negative reddit posts (cheating, bad bosses, etc), upsetting political c**p, and bashing of other people. I want more of the good stuff. The cute animal posts, interesting science facts, funny memes. There used to be more positive stuff on here
