Photobomb By Kathryn Trott
"Jeff stealing the limelight from his brother Jaffa."
Winners are announced on my birthday. Maybe I should submit something. Must be a sign.
Miley Cyrus as a cat. (Seriously - why can't she keep her f**k*ng tongue in her mouth?)
We asked one of the founders of the contest, Tom, what the main goal of these awards is: "We have two - to raise awareness of animal welfare and shine a spotlight on those charities and organizations trying to improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals. And to raise a smile and celebrate the importance of our pets and what they mean to us."
Embrace Of Love By Svetlana Pisareva
"Russia Siba’s puppy cuddles with his beloved cat."
Photobomb By Mollie Cheary
"Bailey was so excited to see her friends, she couldn’t sit still for a photo!"
The Golden Retriever is having second thoughts about this whole playdate thing😅
Here is how the awards started: "The Awards were started by Paul Joynson-Hicks and myself - Tom Sullam, having created the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards (our sister competition) a few years earlier, we wanted to do something similar for pets."
Whizz Pop By Zoe Ross
"Playing with bubbles in the garden. I think I may have swallowed one."
I'm not a dog person and it's often annoying when someone talks up their "fur baby" to the extent that you'd think they fart rainbows... but this one actually does?
The miracle dog that farts rainbow bubbles 😂 Similar to unicorns 🌈
Sit By Suzi Lonergan
"Our granddaughter gave the command to sit. Beau is very obedient."
Tom shares the difficulties they run into when running this contest: "Probably choosing the shortlist. There are so many great images entered that we have to be very thorough and it is so hard to pick your favorites from thousands of entries."
Hugo The Photobomber! By Chloe Beck
"This is my best friend Faith and her husband Alex… And their cheeky Sproodle, Hugo. Faith wanted a photograph to mark a special occasion – her first outing after shielding at home for 14 months. Hugo jumped into the frame at just the right moment! He’s a lockdown pup, so he hasn’t quite gotten used to the excitement of being around other people yet hehe."
Come on guys, that dog is a mutt. And there's zero wrong with that. They do make the best pets.
Muttford And Chum By Luke O’brien
"Losing the opportunity to play with my human bandmates during the lockdown, Flint, my rescue dog, soon taught me that we didn’t just have sharp bones in common, but musical ones too. He soon became the perfect substitute for a collaborative stomp up at home, so much so that we felt we deserved our own band name (Muttford and Chum). With my camera set up remotely during this shoot, I think it’s fair to say that the image is proof that his conviction as a performer matches my own – well, we were covering 'treats and tugs and dinner bowls' by Ian Puli and the Boneheads."
Their joy is infectious! Wonderful shot; well-needed during this pandemic! Thanks for sharing! SING ON!
Which is Muttford and Which is Chum! (just kidding Pandas) They look like Good Times Inc.
What an enthusiastic pooch! Both of you look like you're having a blast!
Here are some of the topics they cover in their contests: "We have several competition categories, including Pets who look like their owners, Juniors, Horses, Cats, Dogs, All Other Creatures, Video."
Ostrich Style By Manel Subirats Ferrer
"Little Nuka playing hide and seek one day at the beach."
The Eureka Moment! By Sophie Bonnefoi
"Cutie and Speedy are 2 chicks hatched from eggs placed in an incubator at home in August 2020. They spent their first few weeks indoors. In the photo, they are just over 2 weeks old. They were curious about everything. This is the day they discovered their own shadow. It was hilarious to see them wondering and exploring that 'dark thing' that was moving with them!"
Tom shares what he thinks makes a funny pet photo: "The humor has to come first, so it has to make us laugh, sometimes it is the animal’s expression or the position the camera catches them in. It’s about snapping that perfect moment, which is much harder to do than it sounds, so we take our hats off to all our finalists."
Nosy Neighbour By Colin Doyle
"According to Ozzy, we need a new fence panel ASAP. He is fed up with Chester, our nosy next-door neighbor, spying on him every time he has a meal."
Crazy In Love With Fall By Diana Jill Mehner
"This is Leia. As you can see, she definitely loves playing with all the leaves in autumn – and yes, it was really tricky to take this picture because you never know where the dog will act and what it is going to do next."
Crazy in Love or maybe...you know...just crazy...(but in a good way)
Ya know what love is crazy and I'm crazy in love with Leia!
Load More Replies...What Diana doesn't realize is that Leia is saving her from the vicious "yard snake" (garden hose). That's why she looks so crazy vicious. (And that leaf "in" her mouth makes it look like she's about to breathe fire🔥🐲)
alabama really doesnt get much snow. At least not our town my dog [an aussie ] he LOVED it
We asked Tom what makes a good photographer: "Oooooh, now that is a tricky question! In my humble opinion, a good photographer is someone that can visualize the image before they have taken it! That may sound difficult, but given the huge amount of sensational photography that I see every day, there are many many people with this talent. A good photograph combines great timing, composition, light and it has to be in focus. If those 4 elements come together at the same time, you can be sure you have a winner!"
Paint Me Like One Of Your French Girls! By Anna Chambers
"Paddy, who is not allowed on the sofa but thinks he is. Does he care? Nope."
Yeah, my brother and his family had dogs that did that. The lab always acted guilty when he was caught, but not Sadie, the standard poodle, who also went by the very apt moniker "Princess Poodleine".
House Squatter! By Thomas Marlie
"Our cat Simba occupying the owl box."
Here's when the competition started and how long they're planning on continuing it: "Our very first one was in 2017 but then we had a break, came back in 2020 and so this is our 2nd consecutive year. We hope to be doing them for years to come."
Good Morning By Mary Ellis
"I like to visit the stable horses before I begin my hike at the State Park… This is the reply I received when I said Good Morning."
Worthy of the Peter Griffin side boob hour XD
Load More Replies...A not very old horse, it seems, according to the not very yellow teeth...
Wine Time! By Kathryn Clark
"It’s that time of day again! Little Blue enjoys it almost as much as me."
oh little blue - thats exactly how I feel after a nice glass of red....
Little Blue looks either overwhelmed or underwhelmed...I’m not sure which it is, but it’s definitely one of them
Tom opens up what inspires them to keep on doing these awards: "The photos and videos entered are truly heart-warming. Especially when you read the descriptions that are submitted with them and understand how the pets are part of the family for most people. Plus that we are able to give a huge donation to our Competition Charity - Animal Support Angels, this year it was £10,000 as part of our partnership with Animal Friends Insurance."
Boing By Christine Johnson
"I was busy playing with my dog on the beach and this dog came to play. I liked the shapes he was making in the air."
Dog says: And this jump is called: Le Gazelle... Me: So much style, so much discipline ...chef's kiss
He just came from the Ballet and figured if they can do it, he can do it... So he took a flying leap.
Never-Ending Poodle By Darren Hall
"This is Ted the Poodle. I’m pretty sure he has never seen the film but the number of people who comment that he looks like Falkor from Never-Ending Story would suggest he may be a fan."
One of the most under-estimated dog breeds, Poodles´re not "simple lap pups", they´re one of the most intelligent dog breeds, can learn a lot of tricks, and many of them´re service dogs too. Plus they have a rather high life expectance. 🐶🐶🐶💖💖💖☮️☮️☮️
I always thought Fuchur was pictured wrong in the film. The book says he's got scales, not fur.
Here's some advice for you if you want to be a part of the Comedy Pet Photography Awards 2022: "Keep your camera phone handy just in case, as you never know when your pet will do something fun and take lots of pictures, have fun with them. It can be really engaging and entertaining. Get the whole family involved and if you can enter, you know that you are helping to support a brilliant cause!"
My Big Brother By Elizabeth Finney
"Our kitten Lola just loves her brother Snoopy so much she doesn’t leave him alone!"
Who said "like cats and dogs", when humans don´t get along with each other??? If cats and dogs grow up together they can be #BFF #BestFurriendsFurever.
Sunbathers By Catherine Falls
"Barbara Ann wants to sunbathe too."
What great composition! With a little tweaking this could look like a 1950's shot :)
A Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann. Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann. Barbara Ann, take my hand. Barbara Ann, You got me rockin' and a-rollin', rockin' and a- reelin’, Barbara Ann.
Careful, don't EGG her on. All she has to do is spin around and "fire" one off🐣
Tom tells us more about himself and his life: "I was brought up in Paris until the age of 11 when I moved to London. After university in the UK, I followed the crowd and got a job in the city of London, working in finance. An odd choice, but it took me 7 years before I realized the error of my ways and dropped it all to do photography. I have been heavily influenced by landscape photographer great Charlie Waite and learned a lot of my techniques from him. My photographic journey has been broad, encompassing working on movie sets, landscape photography, commercial and wildlife photography. But maybe I should blame my itinerant parents for making it hard for me to settle on one thing also!"
Chilling Ludwig By Julien Gloria
"When I go back home, and my cat is already watching the new Netflix series without me!"
I don't always watch Netflix alone, but when I do, it's because a new series has started.
Definitely needs shooping into a muscle car or similar. Could even be a BP Photoshop challenge.
What do you mean, this is your chair??? I don´t see you sitting in/on it. It´s my chair now.
Peep Hole By Millie Kerr
"Someone in my parents’ neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas, put in a peep hole for their terrier so it can look through the fence! I love passing by and seeing its adorable face peering at me."
I do believe the hole should be bigger - what I can see of the face looks sweet!
Here's something Tom wanted to share with the readers of Bored Panda: "The Comedy Pet competition is a fledgling in the world of photography competitions, but already people are taking notice that humor can help raise awareness. The more we all respond to this, the better!"
A Warm Spot On A Cold Day By Corey Seeman
"Two of the morning regulars at the dog park are Gary (hound mix with the jacket) and Kona – who is one of the most chill dogs ever. Got this picture of Gary finding a warm place to sit on this cold winter’s day – February 9th, 2021."
"We've been through this a million times before, Gary. YOU HAVE A JACKET!"
Yeah well it's not a butt jacket so I still need to sit on you😂
Load More Replies...Kona- one of the most CHILL dogs ever... bc he's lying there, ❄eating SNOW❄!!!
Kona seems to enjoy eating the snow while also being kept warm by Gary 😍
A Little Massage By Christine Kaltenecker
"Both dogs are former shelter dogs from Romania. The big one is called 'Milly' and visibly enjoys the 'massage' from little 'Holly.'"
"You'll be peacefully balanced once we finish focusing on your crown chakra."
Holly could you move a little to the left and I think you will be spot on!

"Oak on a windy day showing off his pearly whites!"

That Was A Funny Joke! By Bernard Sim
"3-year-old Pomeranian, very calm. Loves treats."
Hey did ya see the horse pic just above me? Those horse pics kill me …
Those Ears By Charlotte Fenwick
"Rayna is a rescue dog, who spent the first years of her life fending for herself on the streets of Romania. We rescued her in 2019, and are entertained by her quirky ways every day. Everyone who meets Rayna falls in love with her, and we think her ears have a lot to do with that!"
Add nose, beautiful eyes and a wonderful expression of happiness!
Load More Replies...Aawwww Romanian street dogs have something, all of them, they´re usually mixed-breed dogs, but their charm is unique, they wrap you around their paws in an instant.
Freddie & Alison By Ken Whalley
"Freddie’s the one with the brown nose."
I nearly missed the ginger cat in the background, I thought the title referred to the human.
I think there's even a third one by the middle yellow tripod (?) leg
Load More Replies...The most nonchalant kitty pose EVER! I especially love the louche paw-on-hip action.
Freddie did an interview after this shoot. He said he was inspired by the Burt Reynolds spread in Playgirl.
Don't know where brown-nosed Freddie is, but Alison (I'm assuming) looks gorgeous!
Freddie has the tiniest speck of brown under his mustache.
Load More Replies...Caught Red-Pawed By Danielle Wood
"This is my very mischievous Bengal cat, Bailey! On this particular day, I was trying to put away the washing but he would do whatever it took to get those all-important belly rubs!"
I love to kiss my cat's belly, it is so soft and fluffy. She is less enthousiastic about it, but suffer the indignity with patience.
Load More Replies...Bailey looks so much like a cat we used to have, Cloud! He was a Bengal with the same markings, and he was a silly boy, too.
Jurassic Bark By Carmen Cromer
"My golden retriever, Clementine, loves to stick her face in front of the hose while I water the plants. Her expression in this photo made me think of a tyrannosaurus rex, hence the title, Jurassic Bark… duh nuh nuuuh nuhnuh, duh nuh nuuuh nuh nuh, dun duh duuuh nuh nuh nuh nUUUUUUhhhh."
Named by someone who's never seen the devastating "Futurama" episode of the same name *sniff!*
Oh god I watched that episode and I nearly cried it killed me
Load More Replies...Reminds me of the worst advertisement ever in a newspaper: "Golden REDRIVER needs a new home, from private, phone ..." Was in a free weekly newspaper that we get here in my SW German hometown, I don´t know if they rehomed that dog or not.
Albie The Kitten By Ann-Marie Connolly
"Albie our kitten is full of energy and fun but as you’ll see from the photo he also takes some time out to relax and recharge his batteries."
That was often the phrase to describe Silver Screen era actor Gary Cooper
Load More Replies...If he’s that long as a kitten, your full-grown cat is going to be the same size as a small pony!
Loving that one sneaky eye peek. "Have you taken a pic of my glorious self yet? Good, back to sleep."
“…that Was A Good One!!” By Jakub Gojda
"This photo was taken by accident during the photography of my ex-girlfriend with her beloved mare. For this cheerful moment, I thank the fly that sat on the horse’s nose and he instinctively shook his head. And so it seems that the humor between a horse and a woman is definitely not missing."
It´s a cute pic, I´m sorry that you and your ex-girlfriend´re not together anymore.
I have to point out to the OP that if the horse is a mare, she's not a he....
Is it bad to say the smiles are almost identical - I think its cute!
Grace Wins Gold In The Rythmic Gymnastics By Walker Walker
"Grace was a feral kitten and this was one of the games I played with her to help get her used to human company."
Licensed To Drive! By Donna Deshon
"This is Lucy! While boating on our local lake in Idaho, Lucy decided to take the wheel and she did great!"
I am the captain and there is no drinking alcohol on this here boat -got that!
Home Skooling By Jacki Gordon
"Ollie highly focused on what else he can learn from a dog behaviorist’s website (which, as you can see, features a mugshot of him). While Ollie is committed to ongoing personal development, he’s not quite mastered how to use the mouse, but – being a very smart border collie – that’s just a matter of time…"
Where Did Everybody Go? By Katherine Pierce
"Savi (the cat) checks out all aspects of the Christmas decorations."
Savi checking whether this year's Christmas characters are "anatomically correct"
Feeding Sheep By Robert Moore
"The feeding of sheep in a mechanical contraption."

I just had a really bad anxiety attack and I've gotta say these helped me feel a lot better so thank you :D
I love the photos, but not all are funny, some´re simply cuteness overload.
