35 Times Single Moms Took Their Entitlement To The Next Level And Got Shamed For It On This Facebook Group
Finding a good deal is a skill. Some people compile coupons, compare prices and scrape together any and all possible discounts, promotions, and other sales. But for every educated buyer, there is a person whose strategy boils down to “give me things because I said so.”
The “Single mom is not a coupon code” Facebook group documents and shares all the unhinged encounters sellers have had with women who tried to leverage motherhood into free stuff. So get ready to roll your eyes as you scroll through and be sure to upvote your favorites. And don’t forget to comment your own “choosing beggar” stories below.

It's so nice to see strangers helping a poor single mother understand bills <3
Load More Replies...Seriously, I was a single mother from 21 to 27 and I never once asked strangers for money, set up a go fund me or anything like that. And if I did have to borrow money from my parents, I paid them back.
Load More Replies...There's lots of reasons for no in this, but "What else would you be good for anyway?" is a deal-breaker IMO.
Amazing that a gem like her isn't happily married to a wonderful person. Hey, bachelors (without tattoos) - better act fast while this dreamboat is still available. Spending a life with her will ease the pain of death.
How she got 6 kids if she doesnt kiss til the 5th date? Lady you a liar.
Just noticed that. Which means she's spent more time pregnant in the last 10 years than not...

Load More Replies...What a b***h, you can find them free everywhere in every country 😂 not the brand but a decent piano etc
I'd spread that mess all over FB if someone talked to me like that, with special attention to their friends and relatives.
Somehow, I don't think OP is the "selfish b***h" in this situation...
She can't afford to move or maintain a piano, an electronic one is a much better choice.
Let’s get it right out of the way, single mothers do often have a lot to deal with. It’s not easy, looking after kids alone and trying to fend for themselves at the same time. However, as the old adage goes, if you make the bed, you lay in it. So trying to have random people subsidize the consequences of your own actions is deeply entitled.
Unfortunately, a feeling of entitlement is very often wholly unrelated to the things we might think would make someone entitled to benefits, station, ability, or even disability. Instead, particularly entitled people tend to have very poor social skills, which means that everyone who has to deal with them ends up getting unreasonable demands from the most undeserving people. Entitlement is linked with poor emotional regulation skills, so many of these single moms do sincerely believe they deserve what they are asking for and are more likely to get angry at a refusal.
And she is probably proud of the fact that it has worked in the past.
Load More Replies...Well in fairness 30 USD is closer to the retail price of this s****y IKEA Couch in the first place. Can't believe someone is asking 200 for it 🤣🤣🤣
Ha ha, yes, I sold mine for £20 as I had cut out the material from the back so I could wash it and put it back together! It’s not a very comfortable sofa to be fair either!
Load More Replies...$250 for babysitting during a date? I guess the babysitter also does the groceries at this place. Creative scam though...
I was about to say "finally someone pays their babysitter enough" but that was probably my naive inner optimist speaking
$250 for babysitting?! Just how long do you expect this date to continue?
She's not looking for a date, she's looking for a sucker or a sugar daddy.
I would absolutely LOVE to see an attorney's face if she posed this question, though.
Load More Replies...That is another reason why good people are afraid to do more to help people.
Sometimes entitlement can come from the belief that the universe owes you something. After all, being a single mom is unlikely to be the main choice of lifestyle for these women. So they may rationalize their situation with the belief that because they have gone through hardships, they are owed a break by karma, God, or some other cosmic arbitrator. This tends to cause some amount of anger when it crashes into the reality that a seller won’t just give away free things.
To be fair, as much as the first mum is entitled, the second one doesn't seem nice too. Not about the part of repaying damages - but you can can make him pay them off by getting part-time work or even doing additional chores, NOT by selling his things. Also, the part of "not having social media"... if the kid is 11, alright. If he's older than 13-14 and it's not his personal choice but her "method of parenting", then mommy dearest is making this poor kid's life much harder for him. Nowadays it's almost impossible to get in contact with your friends and even attend university/school without having any social medias.
I disagree. Largely because we don't know what the kid has done to earn this punishment. If it was something accidental then yes it's excessive but if it was a deliberate act that caused expensive damage then I'm onboard with it. Similarly, we don't know what choices he was given, it's entirely possible he had options like "get a weekend job to pay the damages or sell your TV" and chose the latter. Bear in mind too, that nowhere in this does it say he won't be able to watch any TV, just that they're selling *his* TV. There could still be a TV he can watch in the lounge room.
Load More Replies...I don't know about the first one (except of I'm sorry that he has such a mum) but the second one probably will grow up rebellious, spiteful and cutting contact with his (likely) overbearing mother - or will be very dependable of her, it may go either way.
Load More Replies...She could certainly work on her grammar, word order and punctuation. She is barely comprehensible.
WHY DONT YOU GROUND HIM FROM TELEVISION, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree... HE LEARNED IT FROM HIS PARENTS... better change your TEACHINGS
I’d like a kitchen alliance as well. The bedroom furniture is starting to act up and I could use some help.
I can gather up my fellow fridge items, and possibly the freezer items and glasses.
Load More Replies...It is striking how these sorts of users always have terrible grammar and writing skills. This is almost definitely a native English speaker. Pretty much everyone I know who is a non-native English speaker (myself included) is far better than this.
"I'm to entitled to actually be glad about free s**t, unless you give me more".
What happened in her life that she thinks saying, 'it's ok, I'm a single mom' is some kind of magic phrase that instantly makes people give you things for free? It's like, 'Oh, yeah, ok, I just forgot for a sec that your poor choice to have a child you can't afford is my responsibility. Here you go!'
"It's ok I'm a single mom" is my new "get out of jail card" now.
To think that their situation is better than yours. I do not know how to deal with these people.
Only in today's society of CB do people expect, " it's ok, I'm a single mom," to have the same gravitas as , "it's ok, I'm a doctor."
This behavior isn’t just limited to single moms, in fact, they at least have a reason to try and ask for a discount. But there are just as many random people online who simply decide to get free or discounted things because they feel like it. Entire online communities are dedicated to sharing and documenting these encounters, for example, the “Choosing Beggars” subreddit. The risk of being shamed and immortalized online doesn’t seem to stop most of these individuals, so at least we can get a nice laugh out of the situation.
No idea who this is. Just some random lady.
I wouldn't send money but if I see people struggling and in need of food I would help for sure.
There are a few needy people who hang out near the grocery store I go to. I won't give them money, but I'm always happy to buy food. Usually I just ask them what they'd like or get them some fruit and non-perishable items. One time all some guy wanted was a grapefruit. :)
Load More Replies...Yep most of the time they only want cash. I'll go to the store with you buy basics but hand you money no.
I have someone I barely know constantly sending me requests for anywhere from $5-20, usually for cigarettes with a promise to "pay u back tomorrow, I swear!" and never does, and still hasn't grasped my ignoring and declining them
This sounds like someone I know and it wouldn't surprise me if this is her.
Wait. Was she seriously hoping that her kid screaming loud enough would make the poor dairy queen guys give out free ice cream?
Are these ranked in the order to make me angrier after reading each one?
Welcome to reality… where everything gets more and more infuriating if you don’t get your coffee in the morning XD
Load More Replies...So imagine every person who has a bratty kid that screams for sh@t they can't have, had the "right" to demand free stuff from shops just because they can't control their demon spawn ....wow
As a person living in reality, I call this, "delusional."

Ooops, sorry, commented before reading yours, but we thought the same lololol
Load More Replies...If you are not familiar with the term choosing beggar, it’s just a play on the old saying that “beggars can’t be choosers.” Simply put, if you are asking for a free thing, you should be grateful for what you get and not start making demands. Unfortunately, as this list and the aforementioned subreddit demonstrate, there are people who believe they absolutely can and should be choosers and will try to negotiate from a position of zero power. Brave, misguided, but you can’t knock their confidence.
No. No problem at all. He now knows everything he needs to know about her.
Nope, but the guy who actually dates you will have a BIG problem, LOL.
At least the tattoo will last longer than the haircut?
Load More Replies...Maybe if money is tight a new tattoo isn’t necessarily what you need right now. Just a thought.
My sister. Can't even afford to pay Mom to babysit every weekend, but can afford monthly pedicures and weekly hair salon 🙄 Didn't even pay for gas when her car was broke for almost 2 months and Mom was going back and forth from our house to hers, AND driving her to/from work AND errands.
Guilt tripping will aggravate me before most things. I also make a point to let people know that I won't typically fall for guilt tripping.
Load More Replies...LOL That was my thought too. Take the call then make sure the kid knows his parents are asshats.
Load More Replies..."Run away from home kid. First chance you get. And if she finds you, keep trying."
"Ok. Hey, kid. You won't be getting any presents this year because your mom didn't bother saving her money to buy you anything. I guess she was too ashamed to tell you herself. Sorry."
There is a sort of twisted logic to just trying to guilt people into free stuff. Normally, begging has some shame attached to it, but doing it online creates a bit of a barrier. Similarly, digital communication lets people reach a much larger audience, so many of these choosing beggars seem to believe that if you just cast a net wide enough, someone will send you money. I’m not sure who they are envisioning, as I have never sent a random person money or free stuff, but statistically, there must be a few individuals who do it.
How does the logic work when the person politely declines and the beggar insults them. 'Oh, sorry, now that you put it like that, yes, I realise I am an a*****e and tell you what - you can have the car I was selling for free!'
I also admire the audacity (or carefreeness) of insulting someone to make them paint a PERMANENT picture on me using needles. What's the worst that could happen? /S

tattoo artists don't cut discounts, unless they're scummy people. you pay what's deserved for the time and skill and effort involved, and you tip very generously if you've got the means and want another tattoo in the future from the same artist.

Load More Replies...Hey, I know you make your money this way, but I want it for free! I'm another entitled parent. I don't care that you have bills to pay. But you must care that my kid wants this for free. SMH
The weirdest thing about this one is it looks like the two people must know each other. For some reason it feels like it's a mum talking to a cousin/coworker or friend. Which makes the last line kinda wtf?
Load More Replies...Maybe reading to the kid, or singing songs from the respective princess's movie, or just talking to the kid.
Load More Replies...Soooo many of these are not the other persons problem it's the beggers. When did people start expecting everything to be free????
So instead of trying a normal barging approach or accepting the (limited) help someone might give you, a lot of these people adopt a gambling strategy and just try to win big. This could be the result of overconfidence, as our brains, unfortunately, often overestimate our own role in our success while underestimating just how often we are to blame for our failures. So without sufficient self-awareness, people build up a massively inflated sense of self that translates into a breathtakingly misguided self-confidence.
Yeah. Reminds me to watch that movie again, and when Vince Vaughn was at his funniest.
Load More Replies...Oh the amount of these type of texts I've gotten. I worked for about a year at a Pizza Hut with my teenage sons just to get out of the house a bit. All the younger people called me mom and after I left I got these type of texts begging for help. I haven't worked there (nor have my kids) in 7 years and I have one guy who still asks for me to help. Saddest part is the guy is MY AGE (50s)
This looks like a way to ask for money. If you don't have food go to a food bank if you don't have diapers call around to charity's. They'll help if this is a one time kinda thing.
this is a technique called "fishing", and it's one of the more obvious passive-aggressive tactics out there
Just because the other mom has a driver's license doesn't even mean she has a car, dumbass
Can I please start practicing law? My neighbor graduated from law school but has not taken the bar exam for reasons I have no idea about.
I'd be happy to relieve you of all those unnecessary apostrophes.
It was unable to read that. There was literally no punctuation whatsoever. It was just a very long sentence, and I felt like someone was screaming at me. It's a good thing I don't give a flying f***.
It was a little hard to read. But you are wrong. There were several apostrophes

Thoughts and prayers are what I'm sending. Thinking you need to get a job and praying that you'll leave everyone else alone.
I get the need hope someone decides to help or you could walk to work. I did.
So in the case of these moms, we can see the interaction of a number of forces. First, the entitlement, the belief that they should just get stuff because they are forced to shoulder the burden of motherhood alone. Remember, entitlement also limits emotional regulation skills, so these types of people will at the same time likely suffer the overconfidence and inflated sense of self that could lead a person to truly believe they deserve free things and that any who stand in their way must just be greedy and evil. So remember to keep some Facebook marketplace sellers in your prayers.
I'd be curious whether the people who gave away the car knew it had problems. Because if they knew it needed a ton of work it's actually just giving away a liability. Passing their problem on to someone else. I say this because I was in a similar position a couple years ago. My old car needed a ton of work just to make it roadworthy. Someone asked me if I'd be willing to sell it to them. I was honest and told them what was wrong with it and how much it'd likely cost to fix. Then said, if you still want it you can have it for free, you just need to know what you're getting into. They didn't take it.
The original owners likely knew, which is why they donated it to the charity. It's a popular choice when a car is too much work to sell to an average person, because you can get a decent tax write off that's higher than selling it for scrap. These car charities are supposed to fix and restore the donated vehicles to at least a workable/ reliable state and thoroughly test them for safety and function before they give them to people. They obviously didn't do their due diligence and their negligence has cost the recipient a lot of money and time she didn't have in the first place.
Load More Replies...I understand that cars can be frustrating however, your sister or any other woman who takes on parenthood needs to make a decision if they can do it. Without the help of someone else when I got married I thought it would be great to have someone to help but all he did was help create more kids. So help out your sister anyway you can don't take it out on those who try to help.
Maybe because it's not his own "For I did not speak of my own accord" – John 12:49

That was very tame and not entitled in my opinion. She has every right to do what she did and she is not really guilting everyone, just asking for help. Everyone has the right to do so, just not the right to expect that they will get their wishes.
No one is going to spend money for your child to have Christmas. Try salvation army or other charitable organizations.
I mean, when I was a teen, I never had a set price for babysitting. It was always just "whatever you think I deserve and/or you can afford. I was very popular and still made a lot of money. Those who paid what they thought I was worth and could afford that much, made up for those who couldn't.
This is not entitlement, but honesty. Sure it is not paid much, if you would depend on this job for your entire budget. Yet it might be just oke for a student or maybe some people that want to have to do something and for whom money is not the main reason to take on this job. My daughter is (16) and would love such a deal if it was not for her own school that she has to attend during those hours. She does some babysitting (multiple kids) and usually gets something around 3 to 4 an hour
Yeah I see nothing wrong with asking. Maybe a bored Mum/Grandma (edit: or dad/grandpa) with an empty nest would be interested purely because she loved kids and didn't need the money. It's not like she's haggling with someone over something she *already* owes.
Load More Replies...While the pay is low, the mom likely works a minimum wage job so therefore can not pay a sitter minimum wage. We also don't know when this was posted. At least she's not asking for the person to have a masters degree and be fluent in four languages.
I have to say that that is more than I seen other parents pay. For more hours (way more hours) and more kids. It doesn't make it right. But...
This one is legit. Daycare is insane. In oregon unlicensed pay rates are $3/hr for 1 kid
Well.. it could work if it was someone who also worked after 6pm.. At a bar etc? Bar work May Finish late, but second job starts at 2pm. And if you get to have dinner / make sandwiches for later at the kids house..… it could be doable as a backer up if you are saving for something over college summer holidays etc? I don’t see a problem with this and can it suiting someone
Since I was a single mom I did babysit for less than what most people charged. But your children are worth the extra money. Most people who sit have taken first aid. Know how to handle emergency situations. Do you really want someone who is just there. Hope you find a solution .
It’s called ‘contraceptive’ lady, you can’t just have kids and expect to rave like you’re in your early 20s chewing your face off like a zombie 😆 you grow the f**k up when you have kids. (I chose raves, parties and drugs over kids, I don’t believe having both is responsible, I was also raised by idiots like this, kids need responsible parents not party animals.)
It makes me sad how many kids are "raised" by idiots like this
Load More Replies...50 bucks can buy a lot of birth control. That would be a much better investment for her.
You want to go to a rave??? You have a kid you decided to keep after getting pregnant (probably at a rave), probably didn’t use contraceptives either!! Don’t have $50 for the ticket??? GROW UP LITTLE GIRL!! YOUR DAYS OF RAVES ARE OVER!! If you get the $50 you better spend it on food for that baby! Give that child up for adoption so they can have a better life with responsible parents (which they will never have with you!!!).
"I'm poly and he's mono" is one way of saying, "I cheated on him & got caught."
Sorry, I couldn't find a meme saying "Go get a damned job, lazy c**t".
She’s poly; when she says “I need memes” she means “I want d***”
Load More Replies...Then be thankful for the tip you got. You know what it's like to be strapped for cash but want your kid to be happy. Apparently you have a car not sure other woman does. Quit trying to make your problems other people's problems. I didn't.
I'm not sure I'd trust anyone to watch an infant for $40/day, over 12 hours a day.
Would you work for 19,20 an hour? A professional babysitter is allowed to take care of six in their house. So....
Load More Replies...$40/hr and I'll gladly watch a baby for 12.5 hours a day.
Bless the League of Family in my country making sure the rates for babysitting are fair and the babysitter protected from those kind of parents
I commented on an earlier post you don't want to skimp on your sitter. You don't want someone who will be there to get just money. Cut back on other things. Your child's safety is far more important than if you can afford coffee or lunch at the office.
Well on one hand she is not making to make other people responsible for said things she needs. She is offering something in return. Not sure if what she's offering is necessarily something someone wants. So I agree with Maikku. 8 don't see it in this one
A job would be first on my list of "what to do", not selling porn online.
So far with this thread, the first thing I’ll be doing is going to court to make sure they pay child support
"just me and my son" vs. "mother of two boys" Did he keep the other child at home?? Anyway: looking for somewhere to crash with that profile pic, the info "I'm fun to be around" and a kid in tow (and pregnant to boot) is asking for a desaster. The nicest possible assumption would be "naive".
Ok so I wasn't the only one that couldn't figure out that math. 2 boys yet only 1 needs a place?
Load More Replies...If you think this is the frmale version of a dickpic, I've got an anatomy textbook that you can borrow.
Load More Replies...The first thing that comes to mind is "Oh, you fu*ked around and found out, huh?"
Honestly - it is not a very bad deal. It is not like she offered 500 or 1000. Usually, people will try to underbid a bit - that is how the marketplace works. Don't like her manipulating it, further down the story. Don't like his reaction either. Yet,basically, wanting 3000 and getting 2500 ( in cash) offered is not that entitled.
The offer isnt entitled like you said, but the woman is. She is trying to use a sob story to make someone take the deal, which good or not they dont have to take. Thats what got the reaction from the seller.
Load More Replies...you always offer $500 less on a car, that's the way it's done. just like you always ask for $500 more than you really want so they feel like they got one over on you by talking you down.
Says she can't feed the kids but she can pony up $2500 to buy a car? I'm no math wizard, but something ain't adding up, lady. Buy them kids some food and take the damn bus.
Hmm... then there needs to be decent public transport in the first place available at the doorstep to start with. And here (Netherlands), public transport is way more expensive than going by car. Especially when going as a family. As soon as it is more than one person, going by car is way cheaper... Can't feed the kids, might also mean: can't get to store, for I have no car and there goes no bus....
Load More Replies...That response is all wrong. I've sold cars before(not professional) but you always inflate the price because no matter what, someone will try to low-ball you. Also, $3k for a 1996 Honda? It's not a classic, it's probably clapped out and used up. In 2020 I paid $2k for a 2010 Ford Fusion, the paint wasn't great, but it keeps chugging along.
i dont think the money was the issue here. it was the fact she played the single mom help my kids card. if she had offered the $2500 minus the sob story she may have gotten the car.
Load More Replies...Yeah I get they want full amount but the seller didn't need to be a jerk and it is a bartering site. It's not like some of them with could you just give it to me.
I'm guessing it's preschool/daycare. Those places have a lead teacher for each room and the others are called assistant teachers or something similar. I highly doubt she's the lead teacher of the whole school. The name Brightside Academy even sounds like a daycare/preschool.
Load More Replies...I wonder what she actually looks like - you can tell this is heavily filtered by the teeth, and most definitely, the eyebrows.
I go with questionable on this one. Plenty of reasons to not be able to drive when pregnant. But, then again, I only see a "I need this", not any willingness for recompense.
3 kids and one on the way? She’s more than willing to “compensate”
Load More Replies...My gf and I are moving 14 hours away and selling things we don’t need or don’t care about to fund the gas. I had to beg her to send me a screenshot. Oh. For my gfs privacy. I cropped her. She explained why it’s 30. And said if no one buys sure. Single moms response?
“K” lol
I don't see how this is entitled. It's a bedframe being offered for $30 and she's just simply asking if she could have it for free for her kids. When told, basically, no unless no one buys it, she didn't clap back with insults like the rest of these posts. She just said ok.
I agree. When someone is trying to sell large, heavy secondhand furniture on neighborhood groups, it's common to not get any takers and end up giving it away for free. I posted a sofa for sale recently because I needed to get rid of it. I got no takers, even as a giveaway, and actually ended up having to pay a trash pickup company to come get it. Even while it was posted with a price tag, I would have welcomed a single mom who wanted it for free!

This woman could have been raped Some want to assume that it is ALWAYS the woman fault. What about the man. It is his also. It is just easier to blame her. Until you KNOW her situation some comments are better left unsaid. You never know it very well could be your own daughter will be in this same position
I agree re: woman-blaming, and true, there will be women suffering rape who aren't protected, but access to free contraception would still make a big difference in numbers (re: unwanted/forced pregnancy). Most child-bearing-age girls/women who want to control if/when they have kids, in the UK, access it. I can't imagine having to take risks due to not having the money to pay for contraception. I also note when some say that women should close their legs. What about the men? Should they tie a knot in it? It does take two to tango, after all.
Load More Replies...Or how about making contraception free? Govt bodies are quick enough to complain about single mothers/mouths to feed, and it would be worth making it free, esp financially, in the long-term.
Load More Replies...So, clear this up for a US person, please. Is this kind of an ad begging for NHS discounts on a site meant only for those who are advertising offers? If so....🙄
The National Health System is already free. So doctors appointments, spending a week in hospital, having an operation, etc have no cost to the patient. Prescription have a charge of under £10. It doesn’t look like she is looking for any medical help but wants to be given a discount in shops that NHS staff (doctors and nurses) are eligible to.

Plenty of other groups who can't afford it, either. Find someone cheaper, wait for a sale/special, or, idk, just skip the luxury you can't afford is a weird way to go (/s on that last bit).

Load More Replies...I don't think this is trying. They have just put it out there that they would like a bike. Not asking for the fanciest one. Someone may have. The right size bike hanging around in a garage that they are happy to donate.
As long as there is no manipulation, I don't have a problem with people asking for help. As long as they can accept a no without playing on one's feelings - there is no entitlement.
I don't think this is too bad. She's just asking for a working laptop, not the latest top-of-the-range model. I don't see this as any different to when I posted on Freecycle asking if anyone had a satellite receiver they no longer needed. We'd moved into a new house and the previous owners had left their satellite dish, so I thought I'd try to make use of it.
I've donated tech I no longer use, so don't see this as a bad request. Nowadays, I'd much prefer to help out someone like this than take old laptops to charity shops, as those once-fine institutions have hiked their prices of 2nd hand stuff beyond what peeps who actually need help, can afford. There are websites out there that 'recycle' free in the UK where you can request or offer stuff for free. A Godsend for some.
As far as I have seen the only ones who say “f**k you” are the ones asking for ridiculous things
I understand where you're coming from, as a lot of these posts seem to be desperate single moms, it still doesn't obligate anyone else to give away expensive items for free though, especially if the response after being declined is "okay go fck yourself then" (not this one, but other ones).
Load More Replies...I don’t see why this one is up here. This mom isn’t asking for a FREE house nor an extremely low rent. This shouldn’t be on this list.
This is a genuine need for assistance, not begging. Around here, that is how state assistant housing works. Instead of a set location available only for those on assistance, the person in need finds a landlord willing to work with what the person and state offers. That limits on others unnecessarily knowing who is on state assistance and who's not. Less bullying of kids just for being poor.
I think the problem with this one is that, the majority of places that use dollar currency are just not that cheap for what she wants. If she has $750/mo, then try to find the biggest and safest place within that budget. Should be more like :this is my budget, I would prefer this, anyone know of anything like this available? Instead it's that she must have a 3bed 2 bath & allows pets. I do hope the person found a safe place to live though.
I agree this list is pitiful. Some of these women deserve the shame BUT there are MANY THAT DO NOT!!!!
enough... i was expecting posts like "need tv, need Apple gadgets and luxury car for free"... but people honestly needing help and asking for it.... no jokes to be made here.
Agree, most of the posts here seem to be from mom's who legitimately need help. I feel the OP is mocking those who are in need.
Load More Replies...I totally agree with whoever made the comment about the writers of this post. This has got to one of the absolute WORST list! Shame on you people for putting down some of these women. Everyone has a hard time in life occasionally and as a former single mom I can attest to that. God forbid you people putting them down ever fall on hard time. Single parents or not
If I had kids this age, or if this lady is willing to go to the thrift shop with me -- her kid would have pants in a flash. This seems honest and basic.
I judge them with the almighty cheeseburger and find them: not guilty, they are just looking for help
Load More Replies...YouTube tutorials on oil changes in Almost any vehicle. Not hard to do at all. (Even for a single mom).
She's looking for a valid offer for a FREE oil change. What about that makes you think she can afford 5+ quarts of oil, a new filter, a filter wrench, an oil pan, a funnel, a set of wheel ramps...
Load More Replies...This is actually not so horrible. If you know what you're doing, changing a alternator is a quick fix. If she has the parts, it's a fair deal.
Sometimes it's a quick fix, sometimes the book estimate is 6 hours or better.
Load More Replies...The OP is a real jerk thinking this, and a lot of other posts, are funny.
I don't get why some of these are on the list. She isn't asking for free work. Having someone do this on the side is way cheaper then a shop.
Swapping collector cards/stickers has been going on for years nothing wrong with that.
23 and 4 kids? Who are these people? Have they never heard of contraception?
My Grubhub driver tonight. With my luck she’s gonna pop on my food or in my driveway or right before she gets here.
This sounds more like a hardworking mom than a choosing beggar. You have to be pretty hard up to be grubhubbng at night 9 months pregnant with a toddler. At least give her a decent tip instead of trashing her efforts.
This makes me sad, how did we get to the point where a pregnant women has to work with her toddler in tow at least in the UK she would get benefits even if people say they aren't enough
Load More Replies...Look how disgusting this is. fully able-bodied woman who can work for money, exploiting her children like that.
The misspellings could be deliberate, but sheehs the fact that she's standig up straight doesn't mean she's fully able-bodied. You don't know someone's story. I understand where you're coming from but calling someone disgusting is harsh.
I have a family by me that used to come in a brand new minivan father would drop mom and kid off in the target parking lot with their begging signs and he would park elsewhere. They would switch off with the baby and the sign. I'm sorry but if u have a vehicle and 2 adults at least one should be able to get a job and not have ur child out with u all day trying to take advantage of regular shoppers at that target.
Are you equally as disgusted at the fully able-bodied deadbeat father who forced his own children into begging?
some of these aren't choosing beggars at all, some of these are just sad :(
I was just about to say, a lot of these are just to the point begging, and I'm like, am I supposed to laugh here? Cringe? Because neither happens, I just feel sad for them.
Load More Replies...Some of these people look like they are actually struggling like the person asking for pants for her son. I'm not saying everyone is being honest and obviously some are really bad but some do seem genuine. Not everyone who asks for help is a choosing beggar
Some people miss the point of choosing beggars. People in need who beg for help are not automatically choosing beggars. They're just beggars and it's sad that for example single moms have to beg for childcare so they can work because no affordable child care is available for them. Or when people have to beg for food and clothing. The choosing part is infuriating, but that's when people decline reasonable options they don't like and/or ask for luxuries they don't need.
Load More Replies...There's obviously some selfish and horrible people here, but I find it troubling that these posts are always aimed at moms. They crop up pretty regularly, and they're never focused on dads behaving badly on behalf of their kids. Is that because we have such low expectations of fathers? Or is it just easier to shame and target women. I get that some of these are just rotten people, but lumping these posts into a list where we all scapegoat one parent feels gross. This seems to play into misogyny and stereotypes rather than calling out bad behavior.
I came here to comment the exact same thing. The "entitled mom" meme is mostly driven by the fact that online culture is so male-dominated. People of all types sometimes behave well and sometimes behave badly. But if any group in our society should be given grace and support, it's mothers. Especially single mothers!
Load More Replies...Most of these people should have used contraceptives instead of complaining about life and dragging a poor kid down with them
There's a big difference between "just give me your nearly new car for free, you jerk, before my kids start crying" and "help, I just lost my home and have kids...their dad is a deadbeat...can anyone help me".
Some of the comments on these post are really vile. We don't know these people nore their struggle and still some people here assume the worst about them and comment really nasty things.
Ya know, Justin, learn some empathy. That may help you distinguish between real choosing beggars , and desperate, struggling people. Or no, you just need to be born with empathy, right? Go gather some pictures of baby animals now.
I have a feeling Justin might have just been a lazy author and used an AI to do his work for him? Wouldn't surprise me if Bored Panda just started doing whole list with AI to write them.
Load More Replies...Good on them! IDK why people are shaming these queens, they are just doing what they need to do to survive, we should instead shame the a*****e men that left them! 👏🏻
Obviously it all the mens fault. Women are not capable of functioning without a man and are pathetic fragile creatures that just can't cope without a man's support. Not my view but what I'm hearing in your sexist little rant.
