And some take it to a whole new level! Over on the subreddit r/chaoticgood, as the name suggests, users share good deeds done in playful, often unexpected ways. Think funny notes left in library books or flowers planted secretly in neglected park corners.

Fake Free WiFi For Good
Even though the term ‘chaotic good’ implies not sticking to societal norms, the subreddit emphasizes that there are boundaries which need to be respected.
The mods, who oversee a community of 331K members, say that rule breaking should be achieved without cruelty or intimidation. By their definition, embracing chaotic good means valuing not just your own freedom and welfare, but everyone else’s.

It’s a good measure to start with, but it doesn’t really change the fact that the people who want the horns are usually the ones paying for somebody to get the horns for them, not the ones doing the hunting. These people won’t care if their poacher dies, they’ll just pay another one until someone succeeds.

Did you hear what Cambodia did after the Khmer Rouge fell? The men who had been indoctrinated with communist ideology and had used violence weren't equipped for the civil society the new government wanted to build. So they hired ex-soldiers as game wardens, protecting the natural habitats, capable of killing poachers, giving them jobs, and not forcing them to spend all their time around people. They could slowly acclimatize to a peaceful society.

Long time ago I heard an ad in radion like "wanted fit men, must have license for rifle and at least 700 out of 1000 points on 100 shots at 200 meter range, or license for machine gun. Willing to shoot on sight." It was protecting beaches where turtles laid eggs.

Not a believer of capital punishment in general but arresting these poachers, trying them, sentencing them doesn't seem to stop these greedy and uncaring mofos. I guess a few holes in someone's azz can persuade others not to make a buck in this area.

I used to chat with a guy online who did that sort of thing in Africa. He was an American who hunted down & culled poachers. The problem is that the poachers hired people to hunt down the counter-poachers.

“I was feeling like I was in a sad funk and I didn’t really know how to snap out of it. I woke up in the middle of the night remembering that it feels good to do good things for other people,” she shared. So, she thought about her next move.
At first, Brooke considered diving into a volunteering project, but with work and two little kids, she knew it’d be tough to maintain. Instead, she went for a more manageable approach: practicing small acts of kindness.

To spread positivity, Brooke Tansley does several things. “I made a New Year’s resolution to always tell someone when I think a nice thought about them,” she recounted.
As a former Broadway star, she takes advantage of her talent: “Sometimes I’ll record myself singing a song with the voice memo app in my phone and send it to someone if I think it would speak to them.”

Brilliant move. But as a boomer who loathes that sort of assholery from anyone regardless of age, I chafe at your ascribing it to us. We are not a monolith. Many of us are still the liberals we were in the '60s and '70s. Don't overlook allies by assuming our thinning gray hair and crackling joints puts us on opposite sides of thedecency and courtesy spectrum. Keep up the good work.

Scalping products has been out of hand for a long time! I remember when the movie Frozen came out, It was the first movie my 4 year old daughter saw in a theater. She really wanted and Elsa doll. Some of these are actually acts of goodness, but committing acts of hatred against people you disagree with is not "chaotic good"; it's the same evil every evil person throughout history has done. Everybody THINKS they're the good guys. The real good guys do good even to those they think are the bad guys.
