Brazilian Dentist Travels To Fix The Teeth Of Less-Fortunate People For Free And Here Are 30 New Transformations
Everyone is able to give back to the world, no matter their age, profession, or location. Even the smallest contribution can make a change and inspire good deeds―be it a rescued animal or a fixed smile―these heartwarming stories are bringing our faith in humanity back. A Brazilian dentist named Felipe Rossi has been traveling the world and helping poor people in need by doing what he does best―giving a reason to smile and restoring lost confidence. For many people, dental health is a pure luxury and they simply can't afford it. They have been given a chance to get the assistance they need for free thanks to Doctor Rossi and his NGO Por1sorriso, which he founded back in 2016.
We've previously shared some of the people's amazing transformations achieved with Rossi's help and he is continuing to change people's lives for the better. Just look at the infectious smiles these people will never have to hide again!

For many of us, many of the more fortunate, careful oral hygiene is a part of our daily routine and it's difficult to imagine that some people live their lives without even owning a toothbrush. Despite significant achievements in oral health, poverty-stricken, under-privileged groups in both developed and developing countries still have limited access to health services. Remember this next time you decide to skip brushing your teeth before bed or you chicken out from your regular appointment at the dentist.
It is amazing how healthy teeth can change the entire structure of one's face. She looks so much younger in the right-hand photo!
Aesthetic dentist Felipe Rossi has been literally bringing healthy and bright smiles to people's faces. Rossi has been traveling with volunteers across low-income communities, mostly in Brazil and East Africa, and has provided vital dental care for hundreds of people free of charge.
NGOs like Por1sorriso face many struggles while following their mission as they have to rely on sponsorship and fundraising to keep going. But Rossi is receiving a lot of support as he has been sharing his journey along with before-and-after pictures of his patients on his Instagram. With over 200k followers on his personal Instagram account and another 114k following Por1sorriso's page, Felipe Rossi is one of the most famous doctors for all the right reasons.
According to The Global Burden of Disease Study, oral diseases affect 3.5 billion people worldwide. With caries or tooth decay being the most common disease, it is estimated that 2.3 billion people suffer from caries of permanent teeth and more than 530 million children suffer from caries of primary teeth. Dental treatments are among the most costly services, averaging 20% of out-of-pocket health expenditure in most high-income countries. There is an evident correlation between oral diseases and socioeconomic status, so the burden falls on those disadvantaged the most.
Beautiful smile! Sorry for the typos.., I don't know why it keeps happening today.
Load More Replies...Oral issues and diseases have a major impact on quality of life―many struggle with consuming food and have to deal with constant pain and suffering. We can all agree that dental pain is some of the worst that exists! Teeth left untreated result in further problems and discomfort, as well as eventual and often premature tooth loss. A smile is often what people notice first in a person, so the change in appearance might cause severe psychological struggles such as low self-esteem.
These heartwarming transformations show how the doctor's work not only changes their smiles, but their lives as well. A nice smile can make a huge difference in appearance, but also affect a person's confidence―most of these people look much younger and their happiness just shines through!
I like how this man is able to smile again after having his teeth fixed... I know a few people who do not smile because they do not like their teeth and feel self conscious because of it.
We need affordable dental care in the USA too. I saved up for years, flew to Thailand and stayed 2 weeks to get dental work done for a sixth of the price the US wanted. That included airfare, hotel, and all travel fees too.
The difference on an individual with healthy teeth is enormous. I myself cannot afford the dentist in the U.S. because the system is so broken. Dental insurance provides nothing at a large cost. It is ridiculous for something so so important, to be so unattainable.
U.K. same. Doctors and hospital free, but dentists very expensive. Also there aren't enough of them.

The dentist has changed these people's lives. It's so nice that people want to give back when they're blessed with a talent. I've never understood why dental treatment is so expensive in most countries though; Especially cosmetic dental treatment? I'm lucky to live in the UK because of the NHS!
It's good to see people smile more confidently after they got their new shiny pearlies. I know a couple of people who will never smile showing their teeth, even laughing. Some would cover their mouth when they talk. In our country, a lot would do dental missions on poor areas or far flung places where they can't get proper dental services. Also, it is relatively affordable to have dental procedures here from licensed dentists and clinics. It's a good thing, too.
These are the people we should be thanking for their service far more so than military personnel.
Everyone one of these people were inherently beautiful already. However, the self-confidence they demonstrate after seeing their new smiles truly makes my heart sing for each one of them.
This man deserves, at least, Nobel for Medicine. It's amazing how he brings happiness to people
Everyone looks so happy now! Bless this doctor, who has changed their lives.
Congratulations for this profissional and his big idea and HEART ! I'm from Brasil too and i will make contact with this guy for helping him in some way.
Could he come to the US? I only know 2 people under the age of 50 who can get basic dental care without going into deep debt they cannot afford. THis is not a Developed "first world" Country.
I love how the teeth don't look fake - those are absolutely amazing transformations! I know a couple people in the United States that could totally benefit from this. Kudos to you kind sir!
The change is so great! It helps their outlook on life and many of them look a lot younger.
I would give anything to have affordable dental work done. Health and genetic issues have caused my teeth to deteriorate fast and its embarrassing. Ive had to teach myself to speak differently so it doesnt show how bad my teeth are. Seeing these transformed smile is such a beautiful thing
Dr. Rossi, fancy taking on a 52 year old who was tramatized as a 6 year old and now has only 4 teeth left?
Dental health and appearance are so very important. The fact that it is so hard to come by or afford in the majority of countries (including most "first world" countries) is just tragic.
This is awesome. I had issues with my teeth until well in my 30's, like many of the commenters below, I couldn't afford to have the work done. Until I got a decent health plan, and I still had to pay a ton for it. I just turned 60, and I still love that my smile is a healthy one. Blessings on this good man for sure.
This man is a saint. God bless him on his journey to help those that can’t afford to help themselves.
As an American I guess I'll have to travel somewhere else to get my teeth fixed that I can afford to replace 3 here would be over $3,000
Looks like extensive dental work that would need more than one consultation...it seems odd that most of the people are wearing the same clothing they wore on the first consultation!!!!
What struck me first in most of the pics is how happy the people looked regardless of their teeth. In the affluent places many of us live, we take tooth health and dentistry for granted a lot of the time. I lost a number of teeth over the years and had two implants put in last year (two of the missing teeth were next to the canines and very visible when I smiled)- it cost me a small fortune, but it has made a big difference in the appearance and function of my teeth. (PS I live in the UK and pay privately for my dentistry)
Beautiful smiles, happy hearts and a very caring dentist! Bless him for gifting the beautiful people with a reason to smile!
Wish this guy would come to the U.S. If you want dental care in the U.S. you've got to finance it like a house or car. At loan shark rates.
I love how the before pictures are already showing radiating smiles :) Probably because of the relieve of being treated. It makes such a difference. And not just on the outside. Frequent oral inflammations affect overall health immensely. People like this give me some hope for the future.
I wonder what the after-care, if it exists, is like for these deprived people? There is a complication rate especially with radical dentistry. Some of the people who have received work look as if they are advanced in age. I appreciate altruism but some surgeons are merely honing their skills on a section of patients who can't afford to litigate if things go wrong.
This work looks like it's mostly crowns, bridges, and false teeth. "After care" is unnecessary for those things.

No. Look closer. Shirt neck is over more. Not Photoshop..
Load More Replies...Well hope it's true but I think that the photos were photoshopped cuz such problems need time to be fixed, and they're all in the same clothes as if their teeth were different by one shot !
These are poor people who likely have few changes of clothes and wear their best to be photographed.
