I need to watch this again soon. :-) Monty Python and the Holy Grail-King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king. Dennis: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. Arthur: Be quiet! Dennis: You can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! Arthur: Shut up!

Actually, it isn't. The atmosphere is so thin that it could barely knock over a plant pot, let alone a rocket or a solid door. One of the many times they made space look more dangerous than it actually is - another being asteroid fields. The asteroids are miles apart, there's no need to keep swerving rocks.

That "deluded but noble adventurer" is a caricature of the people who could not see the difference between the tales in a book and reality. Don't forget that books became recently available for the general audience short before Cervantes' time. Something like, I don't know, if grown adults would start heated arguments about which fictional character would overpower another, similarly equipped fictional character, even when the two characters are supposed allies, like Superman and Batman. Or expressed their hope to gain supernatural powers, and maybe they learn about their powers by a message carried by some bird and they can hone their supernatural skills in organized education.

The film goes to show that when memories are erased people will inevitably make the same mistakes again, thus eventuallt needing another erasure. Not to mention the paranoia of realising their memory was altered, but not the why or the fac5 that they gave consent. In the end only the corporation that offers the procedure gets anything put of it. Money.
