“That’s It, I’m Cake Shaming”: 30 Funny Baking Fails That Made It To This Facebook Group (New Pics)
Baking is easy, a guy once told me, you just follow the recipe. Well, I could say the same about life, Andrew. After all, my soufflé falling apart is nothing compared to your marriage.
But there's a Facebook group that disagrees. Titled "That's It, I'm Cake Shaming," it has people sharing pictures of the worst atrocities they've seen at birthday parties, work anniversaries, weddings, and beyond.
Continue scrolling to check out the Frankensteins, and don't worry if you spot any that you’d still secretly eat — I definitely did.

Ok, yeah, the cake isn't great. But the icing color is the worst part of this cake. It looks like a white cake that spent too much time at its smoking grandmother's house in the 80's and turned that horrible off white/ tan color.
Hmmmm

At least a third of these are perfectly fine, and some of them are actually quite spectacular. Not sure why some are on this list.
The big fails here are not the home made cakes- it’s the ones that are for sale!!!
15 years ago I had a bakery. I made things that tasted delicious and were allergen friendly, nothing really ever looked "pretty" though. If you can make something look pretty AND taste amazing, that's some talent! 😋
I feel for all of the 'artists.' Your idea is perfect when you start out, and promptly begins to sag away from the perfect idea at every opportunity. At some point, so many compromises have been made that your delusion fails completely and, "let's just wrap it up" becomes the design goal.
This is what happens when children are given a trophy for participating and not achievement.
I'll let you all shame me. I made this for my daughter's seventh birthday back in 2007 when it was relevant. https://www.instructables.com/Wheel-Of-WOW!/
Back in the last century, I worked at an ice cream place that also had cakes, but the owner was out only real decorator and rarely came in to decorate the cakes. People were always wanting us to 'just' write Happy Birthday or whatever on the cakes, but it isn't as easy as you think!
People please learn to research your bakery! Not everyone is great with cakes or decorations. Some are better more traditional style.
I made a cat cake for my sons second birthday. Had to use the tip with a the hole for the hair, Wasn't a beautify cake but looked kinda of the picture. My main problem was that the kitchen sink was leaking so I had to wash up in the tub. He wanted a dark grey cat. Do you know what happens when you wash that color of icing. Everthing turns black.
