Living in an area with a lot of light pollution after growing up in the country I so totally MISS the stars that seemed uncountable and the quiet of the country. I get so angry with the loud music from cars or the angry fighting couple outside with zero thought about anyone except themselves and their problems

Lost my mom back in June and I feel absolutely devastated and alone. She was my best friend. I'd give up my life in a half a heart beat just to hug her and hear her call me "Baby" again. I was her caretaker for years but, in all honesty, she took more care of me even as an adult. Losing her took part of my soul and I feel like I can't breathe. The only comfort is I know she's not suffering anymore even if I am without her. God, I love that woman and I always will. People, please do what you can to keep your children from getting certain childhood diseases. They won't have to suffer as adult like Mama did with rheumatic fever heart failure and like my dad is with whooping cough caused lung bleeding and fybrosis. The man has half a functioning lung now at 76 from a disease he got at 5.

I'll sit there an jingle my keys for a second or two just to give him time to come over. His favorite sleeping spot is close enough to the door that if I'm lucky, I get to hear him sigh contentedly as he gets up and does a BIIIIG STRETCH before trotting over to the door."

The most silent sound is no dog nails or dog breath after you lost a dog. Even if a neighbour uses a drill or music is on it just seems silent.

Ha! I tidied up my screen porch this summer and added a leather recliner from Kijji my husband bought me. One weekend he was off fishing, I lit my candles and curled up in my new chair with my book and a cup of tea. It was so nice and relaxing. The next night there was a rainstorm. Like watching tv.
