Yes, my dog is my little buddy, even though I’d say I was more of a cat person before he was brought home by MIL dearest and I quickly realized he would become my responsibility. He’s waiting patiently for me to finish my coffee and get off my butt to take him for our walkies down my country road.

I love Big dogs!! The can protect you better than a ankle biter, My Sandy, weighed 90 pounds boxer pitbull mix, and when laying on the couch with me, would lay on my leg, wrap her paw around it in a hug, and fall asleep. She took up,her side of the ront seat in car rides, or get behind me, and stick her head out of my window. If I was leaving the house, and left my car window down, before I pulled out, she would Jump through my window, into my lap.

The older I get the less I sleep. 5-6 hours a night. If I sleep 8 hours, I get really excited over it when I wake up.

This is BIG in our family. I didn't realize until my mid 20s how my 5 siblings and I all thrive off of being told that our parents are proud of us. I think it has really helped propel us into our successful careers; three business owners, a doctor, an accountant and a lawyer. Tell your kids you're proud of them and hug them tight ♥️

Living in an area with a lot of light pollution after growing up in the country I so totally MISS the stars that seemed uncountable and the quiet of the country. I grew up in a big city and went backpacking in my late teens. I was once camping in the middle of nowhere in Australia, it was so dark I could barely see my hands right in front of my face. I looked up and I saw stars, so so many stars. Then there was the shooting stars, I think I stopped counting at ten. I'm back in a big city now but that always stayed with me.

Lost my mom back in June and I feel absolutely devastated and alone. She was my best friend. I'd give up my life in a half a heart beat just to hug her and hear her call me "Baby" again. I was her caretaker for years but, in all honesty, she took more care of me even as an adult. Losing her took part of my soul and I feel like I can't breathe. The only comfort is I know she's not suffering anymore even if I am without her. God, I love that woman and I always will. People, please do what you can to keep your children from getting certain childhood diseases. They won't have to suffer as adult like Mama did with rheumatic fever heart failure and like my dad is with whooping cough caused lung bleeding and fybrosis. The man has half a functioning lung now at 76 from a disease he got at 5.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I lost my mom almost 6 years ago now. She was the absolute best. I couldn't have asked for a better mother. I remember during her eulogy saying that I won "the mom lottery" with my mom. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her. I'd give almost anything on this Earth to have one more day with her. I'd love for her to see how the kids have grown over the past few years. I'd love for her to be able to meet my girlfriend, I know she would love her. Like you, I'm glad she isn't suffering any longer. My mom had COPD along with Pulmonary Hypertension. I try to keep close to my heart and mind all of the great times we had together. I always answer any questions my kids have about her. Sometimes my grief gets the best of me, but I guess that's grief. Again, sorry for your loss. Hang in there. 🤗☺️

I miss my mom so much. Last Thursday I felt some grief coming on when I was driving to work and decided to do what every therapist suggests: let myself cry. I turned the car so it was facing away from the building, played "Baby Mine" from the Dumbo soundtrack and let it all out. 6.5 years later and sometimes it feels like yesterday. I miss you so much Mom.

The most empty feeling in the world for my husband and I was coming home from work to...silence. We swore we were never putting ourselves through that loss again, but the emptiness was slowly eating away at both of us. We adopted a new pup and she's saved us.

I had 3 and then my elderly neighbour called me in the summer about 2 kittens under her porch so I rescued them. Took me 2 days because they were spicy. I fully intended to put them on Kijji and adopt them out but then there was that moment when they lost the last bit of feral nature and learned to purr. You know I kept them. They are my little treasures.

Ha! I tidied up my screen porch this summer and added a leather recliner from Kijji my husband bought me. One weekend he was off fishing, I lit my candles and curled up in my new chair with my book and a cup of tea. It was so nice and relaxing. The next night there was a rainstorm. Like watching tv.

Walking barefoot is good for you. It connects you to the earth and positive energy - it’s called grounding and can be very healing. When I was recovering from that Covid nonsense and was feeling so lousy, I went out in the sunshine and laid on the warm grass and it made the aches go away.
