After Being Returned Twice, This Remarkable Cat Finally Found The Perfect Family

My sweet little girl was returned to the shelter 3 times before I got her. Still don't know who couldn't love that cuddle bundle of fluff. I had to put her to sleep last week (cancer), and literally one of the last things I said to her was "I'm so glad those other idiots gave you up so that you could spend your life with me."

Anne Reardon did a great video on her YouTube Channel explaining why this was so incredibly dangerous. Basically, the homemade machines raise the voltage but also remove every safeguard. It's so much juice that, even if your hands are protected, brushing your arm against the table could send enough electricity through your body that you're dead before you hit the floor.

Speaking from personal experience here, don't feel bad if you decide to have her in hospice care instead of at your home. People can be judgy, but death (especially with cancer) is... not what it looks like in the movies, where everyone gathers around the bedside and says goodbye. Several people in my family are still dealing with PTSD, extreme anxiety, and related issues due to caring for 2 of our family members during slow home deaths, and it's been 4 and 7 years now.

Man, I wish our UPS delivery person was like these lovely humans. Ours literally killed our dog a couple weeks ago. She managed to break out of her fence and (going by the cameras) less than 2 minutes later he came flying around the blind corner in our subdivision and hit her so hard she died instantly. I was riding my bike and turned the corner less than a minute after it happened. He never apologized, never offered a word of explanation, just stood there looking thoroughly ticked off that I had caught him and now he had to report it to his supervisors. (UPS kept offering to pay for the dog to "make it better". I'm guessing even though they wouldn't get in any legal trouble since our dog had broken loose, it wouldn't look good on the news if their driver got busted for going 40 mph in a residential area and killing an emotional support dog - which could have just as easily been one of the many MANY small children in our neighborhood)

OCD often comes with intrusive thoughts. For some people, these thoughts attack what the person loves the most. For example, someone loves their child more than life itself. But, while they're sitting their happily doing arts and crafts with them, they see a vivid mental picture of them picking up the scissors and stabbing their child in the face. It also can bring a lot of guilt and shame as they start thinking "I must be a terrible person to think such things" when it couldn't be farther from the truth as the intrusive thoughts are completely the *opposite* of their true feelings. It's a cruel, cruel disease. (Source: members of my family have OCD).

Sorry, my comment got split up - what I finished with in a 2nd comment was: "So, yes, what they do is awful. But the movie calls it out as awful, the perpetrators realize they royally messed up and do their best to make amends. Will some people still have a problem with it? Given that it's posted here, yes, but I honestly don't think it's on the same level as movies where the problematic behavior is condoned, laughed at, or even glorified." I know not everyone feels this way, but I feel how a piece of fiction treats problematic behavior makes a difference in whether I have a problem with it or not. I realize some people feel problematic behavior should never be included regardless of context, and I respect their opinion.
