You can’t control everything life throws at you.

But what you can (sort of) control is how you react when things go off the rails. And when that something is an unfortunate mishap, you’ve got two options: let it ruin your day or, after the initial frustration, choose to laugh it off.

That’s the spirit behind the Facebook group fittingly called ‘Anything Gone Wrong,’ where people share all kinds of fails, mess-ups, and chaotic moments.

We’ve rounded up some of the best ones below. Enjoy them—and be glad they didn’t happen to you.

This Guy Moved The Cones To Park. Cones Were There For A Delivery That Was Coming

Car trapped in a fenced construction area demonstrating unexpected fails and anything gone wrong in a parking lot.

Update: I took this picture and told my delivery driver to do it. It was at an apartment building. The owner of the car does not live there. He refused to move. This was faster than calling a tow truck. It was like this for a week.

Good on the workmen. I have no doubt there were notices about not parking there but then they even politely gave him an opportunity to move. He refused. Why should they waste their time (and the money of the apartment owners who are paying them) waiting for a tow truck when they can waste the time of the person causing the problem instead?

Rented a car, then probably tried to make the apt. building owner pay for it, is my guess.

You've left the car there long enough for her to build her nest and make eggs. You do what Lunar Rat suggests. The car can sit there till the birds leave. Think of the gas money you'll save.

Indeed, but why are you keeping your mother's bag in your car for 16 months, if it's so a value for you? Not to speak about, that in some neighbourhoods, leaving anything visible in your car, means, 100% your car will be broken in.

Something similar happened to me. On Halloween 2016 I took my makeup bag to work that my mother gave me for my birthday the year before she died of cancer and someone stole it directly out of the bag I had used to carry part of my costume. I was also sad because she had gifted upwards of $90 worth of makeup that I had stored in the bag as well 😢

Reminds me of my first car back in the 70s. I was having trouble starting it and my dad tried to help. He sprayed something or other into the carburetor that was supposed to help. It helped all right - it helped start a fire about this size under the hood. I freaked out but my dad assured me the flames would soon go out. Not soon enough for me.😬 Funny, it didn't seem to hurt the car because I drove it several more years after that.

Then she said “ok, now open your door.” I grabbed the handle and then stopped and checked behind me. She said “okay never mind, you don’t have to open your door, I just wanted to make sure you knew to do a shoulder check first so a passing vehicle doesn’t rip your door off” haha. I’ve only seen this done on entitled bike parking, who’ve locked up blocking the sidewalk or other public access. Which is really common in some cities. So, it’s a karmic response to unacceptable behavior. Unless it was done for a power kick. I’m imagining it was warranted.

Odometer Fraud: Report to authorities: If you suspect odometer tampering, report it to the appropriate authorities in your state. Odometer fraud is a serious offense and can be prosecuted. Consult with legal counsel: If you've been defrauded by odometer tampering, you may have legal options to pursue.

This happened to my neighbors house four times. The problem is hiring people who don't speak the English language. They cannot read the English language either, so they ignore instructions and just throw the shingles up on the roof to get away as soon as possible. Whenever I have my roof done, I'm going to be watching them like a hawk because I used to be a roofer.

Got My First Car, Drunk Driver Totaled It Out Less Than 3 Weeks Later

Person holding a car key in front of a blue vehicle with a damaged front end showing an unexpected fail.

I spent years working towards getting my first car, finally got it on January 3rd of this year. On January 20th, it was parked outside my house when a drunk driver slammed into it head-on, going excessively over the speed limit and totaling it out.

You are assuming the drunkee had insurance. Lots of them don't (DUIs priced it out of their budget). They also don't bother with licenses. This is why YOU need to have uninsured /under insured insurance on.your policy.

And since it was an older car my parents bought cash, I didn't have comprehensive collision (only the legally required liability), so I got nothing from anybody. Sucked.

That's disgusting as the food will have gone rotten. I'm still cursing the residents here that I had to clean up from before a fire safety inspection - I removed a garden chair, 2 scooters and a tricycle (all in poor order), a satellite dish, 2 roadworks signs and had to get someone else to shift a roll of carpet. Thankfully somebody had already disposed of the mantlepiece I saw a few weeks ago. All from people who had moved out and left their sh*t behind. Most of whom had cars to take it to the dump.

I'd probably have put the stew in separate containers with lids, and put them inside a box so they couldn't tip, and if I needed the stock pot I'd have taken that separate. This is after decades of me being me, LOL.

EVs are totally a scam. They are not good for the earth, contrary to what some will tell you. The mining for the materials for the battery alone is ridiculous, and done in 3rd world countries, often with child/slave labor. Plus the electricity to charge them still comes from fossil fuels, most likely, so what exactly are you saving here? Nothing. Nothing at all.

This made the right wing social media rounds before 1/20/25, when the right still demonized electric cars. If I remember correctly, this is a real quote but the car is very old and the battery was very specific to replace. There were extenuating circumstances. But, post-president Elon, the electric car critics have gone silent…

Used vehicle prices are going to keep going up too 🥲 tariffs make new vehicles harder to afford so used vehicles are becoming more desirable, and we all know what happens with supply and demand. I actually bought my pre-owned car in February because I work in auto retail and I knew it was coming. It’s already started.

According to Google, "Swapping out a Chevrolet Volt battery can be a significant expense, with an average cost ranging from $3K to $9K, depending on factors such as labor fees and the specific battery type used in the vehicle model you choose. It’s wise to explore options and get estimates from service centers to secure the most competitive price, especially since costs can fluctuate due to location differences and technological upgrades in Chevrolet Volt battery replacement options."

I'd be amazed if this was true. Two ways of doing this. either cut each one to length, and angle, very time consuming. Or position them all overlapping the framing boards and run the circular saw, with guide, along it all with a single cut. I think this picture is the guys putting the boards in position with a couple of the spacers screwed in along the length, then they'd slide and lift the ends over the framing board before cutting. There's no way anyone would expect payment if they left it like this.

No rails and scaffholding still on the floor. It doesn't look like they are finished. I was trying to decide if there is a third board to go in the gap after the ends have been cut to the right length.

Vandalism? If this is what I think it is, the purpose is to make the engine inefficient and noisy. It can also cause carbon monoxide to go into the cabin, and - needless to say - that's serious.

Rye berries are just what they call rye grains. A 25th is is a typo, OP meant to say 25lbs, or 25 pounds. So they spilled 25 pounds of rye grains.

Not as bad as the time I trusted Hefty to carry 25 pounds of used kitty litter up the stairs. Wimpy! Wimpy! Wimpy! Hell, the $1.25 box of garbage bags is even far stronger than Hefty.

I bought a carton of store shopping bags with the handles, put one in an empty litter bucket, clean the boxes into the bag, tie the handles, and carry it to the bin in the bucket. 5

Take a sock, or a stocking, and put it over the hose on a vacuum cleaner. Use the hose to suck up the rye. Then the machine loses suction empty the sock and repeat the endeavour. This also works for bead, and polystyrene balls from beanbag chairs.

Earthworms. Good for the dirt. They sometimes form balls like that when the clew feels the need for protection, or sometimes to make itty bitty baby earthworms.

The orange substance is likely spray foam sealant used to seal openings around pipes in a parking garage ceiling. Spray foam is often used to prevent exhaust gases from entering other areas. Orange is sometimes used as a color code for pipes containing toxic or corrosive fluids.

AI Overview: Yes, ants can be affected by electricity. Ants are known to be attracted to electrical fields, and they can be shocked by sources like 9V batteries, tasers, and electric fences. When shocked, they release pheromones, attracting other ants to the area, which can lead to a buildup of dead ants and potential short circuits in electrical equipment.

In my late grandma's house there was one electrical outlet that attracted ants. They got electrocuted and died there. When there were too many of them the outlet stopped working, so we would just open it to brush out the ants, and it worked again. That "suîcîdal ants" thing went on for years, but I've only ever seen it in that house, with that particular outlet.

One of my stores sold a diesel truck to a guy - 3 days later he’s back in our service department because he put gas in it. No problem, he didn’t drive it, we drain and fix it up and send him on his way. 3 days after that, he’s back again, same problem 😅 but again he didn’t drive it, got it towed in and knows it’s his own fault and is happy to pay the bill. We send him on his way. 3 DAYS LATER he’s back again…..😅😅😅 poor guy just couldn’t wrap his brain around the fact that his duramax was a DIESEL, not gas lmao

Depends on age of motor. Older: The other way round is more critical, older Diesel motors can take a lot. Don't start, syphon it out and fill up with Diesel, all will be good. Source: Me. Newer: Don't start, tow it to a garage for proper cleaning.

So, putting gasoline in a diesel (compression ignition) engine can actually damage the engine because gas isn't supposed to be compressed that much and can detonate before it's supposed to. However, putting diesel in a lower compression gas (spark ignition) engine will simply not be sufficient to ignite the fuel at all and just needs to be flushed out with fresh gas by a shop.

Don't get frantic, if you clean that off before the grout is set in the joints, you will damage the joints. Once set, he will clean that with a sponge and most likely vinegar or citric acid water. Citric acid is used in soda pop drinks, so perfectly fine to be used in a kitchen.
