"All of us at some point in our life cycle have tiny stages, but when we're mature, we're complex multicellular animals," explains Beth Okamura, a professor at the Natural History Museum in London. "That's not the case for Myxozoa. When they mature, they're still single cells."

According to the University of Hawaii, myxozoans can be up to 100 times smaller than a grain of sand. Or as small as 0.02 millimeters (20 micrometers) across as adults.
And if you're wondering what exactly they are, Science Direct defines them as aquatic parasitic animals, adding that they were probably derived from jellyfish.
"With 2,402 species described, many have a two-host lifecycle, involving a fish and an annelid worm or bryozoan," reads the site. "For example, Ceratomyxa shasta is a virulent myxosporean parasite of salmon and trout in the Pacific Northwest."

Bottle fed a pair of orphaned lambs... The male lamb with a cleft pallet called Matthew passed away but his female twin Sara became a robust sheep who became leader of my mixed herd of sheep and goats.
In terms of mammals, the prize for the tiniest apparently goes to both the Etruscan shrews and bumblebee bats. Bumblebee bats grow to a length of around 1.1 to 1.3 inches and have a wingspan of around 6 inches, while the shrews can reach a mighty 2 inches long.

Too cute! I have a teeny tiny little baby lizard that's been hanging outside our front door. So I feed him spinach and lettuce. We have a lot of different wildlife out here in the burbs: cottontail bunnies, coyotes, hawks, lizards, all sorts of critters, there is always food and water for them under our orange tree.

In my life time the situation has gone from it being very difficult to get pandas to breed in captivity to China having a surfeit of baby pandas without ever there being evidence of a mother. I presume they are being produced by A.I. (the old fashioned sort) or IVF? Or even cloning. And then all removed from their mothers to be raised in groups, presumably for the attention it gets? It makes me very uncomfortable. I know something isn't right.

No mystery to it. Sustained captive breeding with a large seed population. They often have twins but only one would live so they leave one with mum and raise the other by hand. Pandas cost around £1 million to rent per year per couple for a 10 year contract and any babies go back to China too. They have been massive moneyspinners for China. Better land management has allowed the wild population to increase aa well. Sadly not all Chinese animals are aa well treated

My wife has her wildlife rehabilitation license in Florida, and the doctor at the veterinarian clinic she works at sees wildlife pro bono, so we often have all sorts of wildlife in our home. The patients we have eventually "graduate" to another local rehabilitator who has much more space and resources than we do, but sometimes we get to facilitate a release.

When I was a little kid (and pet stores still existed), my parents bought me a pet white rabbit. I, of course, in my infinite intelligence, named her Snowball XD We let her roam the (fenced) backyard during the day, and, well, my city's central park is across the street from our house XD And back in those days, vets didn't spay/neuter animals other than cats/dogs. So, tl;dr my white rabbit had a litter of kits XD There were only three, and one was stillborn, sadly. The other two were female; one was black with white markings on her muzzle, and the other was brown with white markings on her paws. Continuing my clever naming trend, I named them Muzzle and Paws XD I posthumously named the stillborn baby Stardust. My mom didn't want any more animals in the house, so a family friend adopted Muzzle, and a cousin adopted Paws. I still, to this day, internally cringe when I think about what I named them all XD I mean, I WAS 6, but still! XD

If separated from their mothers and the herd, it can be touch-and-go for a few weeks because they’re pretty sensitive to the cold. For these adorable (but feisty!) babes, a heat source is a must for survival. Depending on their age at arrival, we offer a warm incubator, ceramic heat lamps, heating pads, or heated mats in their enclosures until they’re several months old and ready for life with a new herd. Oh, and they all get a cuddle buddy!

We found this baby squirrel out on a road nearby, it was attempting to climb a wall and kept falling, it was holding its arm up, and holding it with its other arm, and also making a high pitched squealing noise, so we decided to take it back to help it, as it seemed hurt, and it was freezing cold and raining heavily outside. It has started to learn to climb from what it seems, so I’m thinking it’s possibly between 8-10 weeks old.

These guys are actually pretty big. Some of the baby lizards I’ve seen are ridiculously tiny. They are frequently eaten by larger lizards so I drive myself crazy trying to find a spot to put them where I think they might survive.

This is normal behavior for deer and their young. The momma deer leaves her baby in tall grass while she goes and finds food and water. The mom will come back to the fawn several times a day to nurse it. But, for the most part, she leaves it alone to hide because fawns are born without a scent, therefore predators can't track down a fawn by smell and the mom wants to leave as little scent as possible near her baby. Also, fawns are born with spots to help them blend in to their surroundings.

There are laws around livestock animals, particularly to protect against infections being transported around, that require ear-tags so they can always be traced. Even if the animal is a pet it is still the same species, and could contract or spread the same diseases, so must also wear an ear-tag.

These Little Babies Are Living Under My Porch
They’re at the age where they’re starting to explore I guess. I saw mama bun last night so I know they’re being fed. My dog and ducks are super interested in them so everytime I come outside with them, I see one and gently put them back under the porch for safety, at least until they’re a bit bigger. They can explore safely when my dog is inside and my ducks are in their enclosure. They’re just so adorable, figured everyone would enjoy a good bun pic.

But it wasn’t JUST so they could post the pic, they were putting them back under the porch to protect them from their other animals. I don’t think I’m an ahole at all, especially when it comes to animals, but I think I might also take a picture if I had to pick up the baby anyway.

Feeding Schedule For Bottle Babies?
Mama has not been able to stand from a case of pregnancy toxemia, so these two have been bottle fed from day one. Currently, we get up around 1 to 2 am for a night feeding. How long will that be necessary, or does anyone do that besides us?

Correct, but he had anisocoria (permanently dilated pupil) in one eye due to a childhood injury, causing that eye to look "black" (or at least much darker in color) than his other (blue) eye. So, there's absolutely no reason why a pup with one blue eye and one brown eye couldn't be called Bowie in honor of David Bowie, even if Bowie himself did not have heterochromia.

I encountered one hognose in Florida. Our black rat snakes get very large. To safely remove them from our porch, I would spray a little water at them until the left in the direction needed. This tiny tiny tiny little hognose snake just got super aggressive with me. It really thought it was going to take my life. Second option was a broom. It attacked the broom dramatically and repeatedly. Eventually I just had to keep my dogs locked up until it decided to leave. I couldn’t believe how aggressive that tiny thing was. Of course, I’ve had chihuahuas so I should’ve known.

Because cats don't reproduce by parthenogenesis XD Dad was involved in kitten creation (possibly multiple dads; females in estrus often mate with several males, and kittens within the same litter can have different fathers!) I know OP is probably being sarcastic/joking, but... yeah XD Also, kittens are often born lighter-colored (especially colorpoint kittens) and will develop a darker coat as they age.

Their points, if they have them, will also darken with age and the points are also temperature dependent. The cooler it is, the darker the points. Did you know there are fancy mice that also have "Siamese" points? There can be Siamese and Himalayan mice with dark chocolate and blue points and they also darken with age and temperature.

Yep, it's a house gecko, most likely a Mediterranean house gecko. They're native to the Mediterranean region (unsurprisingly) but they can now be found as an invasive species all across the world, including the US, Cuba, and Puerto Rico!
