Let us make this Friday even more special by introducing you to Janek Koza, an illustrator and cartoonist from Poland. The artist stands out with his style which can be described as an "ugly drawing" - a trend that is becoming more and more popular on social media.

Janek, through the prism of irony and humor, reflects on the main events in politics and society, including the refugee crisis, climate change and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In one of his interviews, the artist shared that he gets inspired by ordinary people, situations on the street, in stores, or on the bus. "I try to read and watch as much as I can to stay updated on what’s going on in the world. 95% of my time I spend sitting mindlessly at my desk, scrolling through the news feed, and poking around in my head. I think that it takes a lot of empathy and knowledge to make a good comment on reality."

It drives me crazy when the media asks celebrities or representatives of corporations for their opinions on political issues. Of course, the media are only responding to what the public will click on.

I understand and agree slightly. Are those people not capable just because they are labeled celebrity or such? What if it's something they feel passionate about? Just asking as Devil's Advocate.

actually if someone doesn't know something about something, they are correct to not comment. Too many people are arrogant and comment on stuff beyond their competence.

It's actually smart to not talk about something we don't know. The problem nowadays is that when someone does that, others treat them like morons because sadly it's expected of people to talk about everything, even if they are saying incorrect c**p.

Janek is an illustrator (working for political magazines), animator (shorts and music videos) and cartoonist (author of graphic novels). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts as a painter, but, according to the artist, he has always been more interested in animation, and then drawings.

While.i do think the premise is great. A child learning another language and even if it's through a foreign housekeeper etc is ok. I'm also distraught by your hollier than thou attitude of wanting to dump off the c**p chores everyone does on a minority hired to do such. You are not abo e.doing said things and if you did maybe it would give you some perspective into how you want to treat those people. They have lives feelings etc like you also. Do.you really think they want to do your menial c**p for you to make a living. Have some humility for gods sake

Yes they are, immigration lowers wages and allows companies to hire vulnerable people. Citizens who would take those jobs for fair wages get them taken away by vulnerable and under educated people who become a pseudo slave class. Every country on earth controls the amount of people who immigrate, and they do it for a very good reason. Countries need to protect the working class and ensure the job market stays competitive.

I have deleted my comment because the meaning was not understood. I NEVER said this was an "ok" situation. I merely meant that I would hire ANYONE and not discriminate. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️ TBH, I am physically disabled and the "c**p" jobs are HUGE for me, sometimes. I appreciate any and all help from anyone and everyone! I am NOT above doing them myself, and HAVE worked menial jobs to get by.

Immigrants are not always good for a country, because sometimes it happens various bad doings in a country like rohingyas in India as well as some other immigrants like in France protesting, etc., but some immigrants are always also not bad.

By that rule nearly ALL US Citizens, would have to go "back" and leave the continent to it's original inhabitants. In the USA it's one of the dumbest hate speech. If you're pale, your ancestors probably immigrated, dummy (to the one saying go back)! *eye roll

I was born and raised in Texas I worked a stable in Texas it was the closest job sense I lived in the country and gas was getting high for the pandemic. They were low on staff because the unusually high labor requirement but it didn't bother me because I'm used to hard labor. Me and my friend that got me the job we're only getting paid 10 an hour and the people we were working for were competing against the local larger known stables that were paying 20 an hour but we were unknown to the trade of horse riding because normally it takes a fortune to get into so we had no idea until after we lost our jobs. When the drought came and we were working in 115 degree weather working dusk to dawn only bailing 300 bailes of 50pounds and 60bails of 100 pounds only getting paid 10 an hour with gas going high we really needed more money especially sense every day ended with us not having a day left after work because of just how exhausted we were we started asking for a pay raise and not to long we

Immigration expands the labor market which lowers wages. That is a very simple and proven fact. Immigration is pro big business multinational companies love immigration so they can fill their factories with desperate often under educated or vulnerable people. People complain that immigrants are taking jobs, but they are often getting hired as laborers. The author is implying that immigrants are doing the work people don't want to do themselves, like cleaning, childcare, etc., not taking jobs away.

So the "real man" does not need to search for an excuse any more.

We asked Janek about the source of inspiration for his comics. The artist shared that he tries to look at politics from a human perspective. "I try to see politicians as ordinary people, understand their behavior. What is behind their bad, selfish, or simply stupid decisions? I also draw ordinary people with their everyday problems, failed relationships, little dreams and envy. I watch everyone around and of course myself because I'm not better than the others."

This actually has nothing to do with taking the lord's name in vain. It no longer amazes me how many so called Christians don't even know their own book. Taking the lord's name in vain means claiming the lord's name when doing unholy things like oh... I don't know, forcing a 10 year old girl to give birth to her rapist's baby and saying it's the lord's will. Claiming the lord's name for your OWN deeds... that's what it means.

Really bale their noodles. Only ban them for people who argued against them. I know it sounds stupid, but you KNOW some of them will flip a 180 and argue for their right to wear them. And once wearing the mask they'll flip again. Like that cat with the buttered toast on it's back. Then we use them for free energy. ^_^

Janek uses the simplest materials - a regular black pen, old markers and used paper, printed on the other side. "For this job, you need good ideas, not expensive equipment."

To the question of what Janek would want other people to take away from his work, the artist answered simply with only one word: empathy.

You need to unpack those. The expectation and hope was already there before the present arrived. So what they are giving her, is a disappointed hope. They also cannot give her anything else for lack of funds. Also - they expect her to be happy, which is their false hope. They seem to be pleased with themselves for such a clever idea, showing they really have no clue. These are not simple cartoons, at least some of them. They tell a story, inside a story about a story; and the joke is on the joker telling yet another joke. Plus the cultural references. I'm in awe he is able to put it all in 2 or 3 simple drawings, but it also takes time to unpack.

This one should be higher. I remember a time I was relaxing on the beach, watching the ocean with my family. I was enjoying the lack of electronics and ads and all the mess of today. But not to worry! A boat with a massive LED screen flashing ads floated by to obstruct my lovely view. Gods forbid I'm not buying something 24/7.

This happened to me the ither day - we were on the highway and did you know they have cars now with moving ads on them?! Yep. Great distraction to everyone, I couldn't stop staring in shock and disgust.

We tend to try to encourage others by nitpicking what they've done wrong instead of suggesting ways in which they could do something better. That's what I interpreted. But since its office related I could be wrong.

🤣🤣 had something similar happen to me on my wedding night. My husband popped the cork from champagne in our honeymoon suite. It went up, hit the ceiling, came down and hit me right in the top of the foot! Left a HUGE, deep bruise on my foot and a dent in the ceiling! Could've been worse, but still a funny story. 😁

I went to a resort (Camelback) for New Year's Eve, and the champagne cork flew into the light fixture. It's probably still there.

For context, our current goverments is advertising against EU and their even slightest control over legislature in Poland. Europe has been trying for years to make us care more about CO2 emission, but we refuse to even try to step away from coal. And their leading argument is that EU is sticking their nose in our inside bussiness

I could also make the claim that this argument applies to the US, being the only county on the planet who is not a member of the Paris climate agreement.

Everyone can make points all day long on this topic..... Nothing will even put a dent in the issue...... unfortunately humans have grown comfortable with "convenience" and "things"...... countries that are "well off" tend to be exceedingly wasteful and those that we call "third world" will someday catch up..... and I'll make an educated guess that they will be adding to these issues as well..... it is unrealistic to assume your neighbors both local and abroad would be willing or capable of letting go of their things to make other's lives (who they don't know/generations who aren't even born yet) better..... harsh reality.....

Mine have target practice with frikkin cannons from the sound of it (but usually semi automatics and shot guns), dirt bike rallies in their 2 acre field next to our house, screaming grand children, and used to have a dog that refused to poop any where but by my car door (which was great when iwas working night shift. No lights out there). But it's ok. I got a peacock that yells at them any time they make noise. They hate it. ^_^ I feel avenged.

All the world seems to have noticed the pandemic, Polish government was downplaying, dismissing and pretending all is fine. The man drawing is pretending to be destressing by following the official narrative that others have it worse.
