Even though 2023 presented us with some quite high-grossing movies—the so-called “Barbenheimer” and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, for instance—not everything people watched over the past year was equally attention-worthy. Ask anyone who has sat down in front of a screen at least a few times and they will line them up for you, from the one they liked the most to the one they did the least, or maybe even found quite disappointing.
Members of the ‘Movies’ subreddit recently discussed disappointing works of cinema after the user ‘Starless Princess’ started a discussion about it. The OP shared that they tried giving The Portable Door a go (ended up regretting the decision) and decided to ask what was the worst thing fellow redditors watched in 2023. Scroll down to find their answers on the list below and see if they coincide with your list of “I’m never watching that ever again”.

Probably Wish. It’s like someone fed a bunch of Disney movies into an AI program.
An insider said that the original concept was changed by some writers to make it appeal to the "Modern Audience" in an interview - Quirky, strong independent heroine, some talking animals as comedic relief and a male villain who's evil for the sake of being evil. In the end it's nothing special
The original concepts sounded far more interesting before executive meddling kicked in. The star would have been a cute shapeshifter and possible romantic interest and the king and queen would have been an evil power couple.
Load More Replies...Too many Disney cliches meshed into one to try to make a film and relying too hard on past film references for this one. For example, the main heroine has 7 friends--whose names all begin with the same letters as the Seven Dwarves names from Snow White and have the same personality traits as them and wear similar clothing colors to them.

Jonah Hill’s *You People*. Couldn’t even finish it.
Lots of “jokes” at white peoples expense. Clearly not the other way around. Utter pile of steaming garbage excuse for a movie. Hateful for one race. Not clever. Jonah Hills annoying. The wife of Eddie Murphy’s character is unbearable as well.
I think it was a good time waster it had funny moments like the dude with the coke in the club
Oh my god, I watched for 15 minutes and switched it off. What a load of rubbish.
Black Adam. Had to turn it off. The acting and writing was awful.
As most superhero movies. Honestly, they're all CGI battles and nothing else, the scripts are 95% of the time garbage and the actors have horrible dialogue and their talent is wasted, no matter if they are newcomers or known faces.
I beg to disagree. Several of the MCU movies from before "the snap" were good. They ALL have brilliant special effects; the standouts are usually the ones that have more than just FX. Sometimes it's social commentary (Black Panther, Iron Man), but usually, it's good dialogue and story-telling.
Load More Replies...My issue is with the stuff the Rock puts into his contracts, like he can never been shown 'losing a fight' like, dude come on...
Case in point proving I'm not an elitist prig with ridiculously high standards are superhero movies (#2). I love superhero movies, even the bad ones, which serve as distractions from reality and nothing more.
I just don't have any desire to watch most of the DCU movies. The MCU movies for the most part aren't particularly deep or great. But they are usually just plain fun to watch.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, just disaster
u/skuzzy87x:
Here's the thing though. I'm a sucker for bad flicks. Especially horror flicks. And I always finish what I started no matter how much of a pain it can be to get through.
I didn't make it 25 minutes. Absolutely trash.
I didn't make it past the title. I don't mind a trashy horror flick, but this was clearly nonsense.
Load More Replies...To paraphrase Dr. Malcom, they were were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.
A teacher got into hot water showing this flick to her fourth-grade students. Kids needed counselors afterwards. As if the word "blood" wasn't clue enough... smh
The kids decided they wanted to watch it, then the teacher wouldn't turn it off afterwards when they asked her to stop the film.
Load More Replies...I felt the same about Krampus... I love B movies and bad horror and have happily sat through stuff that other people have hated, turned off or snoozed through, but it was actually "krappus" and I couldn't sit through it. One of the only films I have turned off
I don't even think it has a plot. I saw a review on Youtube as my curiousity always leads me down the rabbit hole: Christopher Robin has grown up and has a girlfriend. However, his beloved imaginary friends are not truly imaginary and are angry at being left alone. Pooh and Piglet go on a murderous rampage and kill all the other animals in the 100 Acre Wood and now they are out to kill Christopher Robin and everyone he loves! Be ready for blood, guts, and vengeance. *cue dramatic music*
Load More Replies...I watched the trailer thinking it would be a cutesy movie with one of my fave kiddy show characters. Never again
*Expendables 4* a film that exists to make *Expendables 3* feel better about itself.
I watched Expendables 1. It was okay, but not good enough to bother seeing 2 or any other sequels. Reading this, I feel like I got it right.
So I guess you could say the movies are Expendable.
Load More Replies...I mean... they're not supposed to be *good* movies. They're supposed to be boom/smash/pow action movies that put the big names together. A couple of hours to watch these guys blow stuff up & shoot people.
I agree, take them for what they are, raw entertainment without shame...
Load More Replies...Dear God, these movies are AWFUL. Hubby and I TRIED watching, but there was so much mumbling, we couldn't understand what they were saying. OR, maybe we're both just going deaf? F**k if I know, but we both agree that they suck.
That movie was soo bad. The scene where Stallone and Jason are there normal, have skin texture self and the there is the girl who could not have been more airbrushed. That wad ridiculous
These movies are designed to be ridiculousness overloads not cinematic masterpieces. It’s just 80s action movies on Sly Stallone steroids. It’s to give all those aging action stars a chance to be seen one last time and then add the younger ones in to appeal to more viewers. Dialogue isn’t Shakespeare and that’s why it’s mindless viewing.
Napoleon. Badly directed, badly edited, badly written, bad sex scenes, bad battles and bad history. It did have nice costumes, I will give it that.
u/hundredhorses:
Napoleon, not just the worst movie I've seen this year, quite possibly the worst movie I've seen in my whole life. Certainly the most disappointing.
Disregarding the litany of historical inaccuracies, the movie is just bad. It's boring and there is no context for anything that happens.
Joaquin Phoenix is too old to play Napoleon, and his acting was bad.
We got a trailer for a grand Napoleon action movie in the style of Gladiator. What we got was a boring, weird and a-historical 3 hour mess of autism Napoleon.
I haven't seen the movie but for heaven's sake, why does a film about Napoleon, a conqueror, have śex scenes?
Uh, I liked it? And I perceived the sex scenes to show what a selfish person he was, just got off and moved on with no respect for the women. I also thought the battle scenes were excellent. As a history teacher I understand it wasn't always historically accurate but few historical films are.
Oh don't you go having an opinion that isn't the same s/ Here's an upvote. Because everyone is untitled to have different opinions lol yeah ok you downvote peoples opinions and we will all walk about like sheep
Load More Replies...What I find funny is that I saw a lot of articles (on social media tbh) from British/American newspapers (right wing tabloids or left wing) stating 'FREnCH ArE OFfEnDED AbOUT NaPOLEON Movie". While in reality there was no major offense, we just expected, as any other cinema goer, a nice cool epic movie (and nothing else) and were served with that gloomy half boring movie. The BBC series featuring an episode on Napoleon was way more interesting. If I should recommend a few movies of Q4 2023: 1) Past lives (South Korea), 2) Les Chambres rouges (Canada), 3) Anatomy of a fall (France).
And above all, we expected a historically accurate film and not a ridiculous romance between Napoleon and Joséphine between two cannonballs on the pyramids...!!!
Load More Replies...I agree 100% Edit: The cinematic release was allegedly to qualify for an Oscar. The original 4 hour + cut is being released soon on Apple TV+ They need to change the rules on that imho. A movie should be based on it's own merits alone and not be dependant on a cinematic release to be in the running. That's how we get movies like this and nobody needs that. Nobody.
We tried to watch it last night. Got halfway through. We decided it just wasn’t worth the time.
"What we got was a boring, weird and a-historical 3 hour mess of autism Napoleon." - This is how Joaquin plays ALL of his characters. I honestly have no idea on why people keep praising him.
Quantumania. Just stripped the heart and soul out of the Ant-Man franchise while ruining one of the best relationships in the MCU.
But we get a script cobbled from the scraps of the Rick and Morty writers room.
For me Marvel's biggest mistake of many is to treat each movie as a link in a chain of ever escalating events. It is difficult to care for movie #23 of 547 on another "we must save REALITY" saga.
The problem is, in the comic book world, it does all have to fit together because the characters cross over so frequently. Its great for super fans that know the cannon but, to almost everyone else it’s pure tedium.
Load More Replies...This whole current storyline of marvel involving multiversal saga is disappointing. Some exceptions are obviously there. Like Loki season 2 was awesome.
I thoroughly enjoyed Loki season 2 and though that the ending was actually really moving and bittersweet. The rest of the Marvel properties that came out this year--not so much.
Load More Replies...I felt let down by this movie. I looked forward to it based on the earlier movie. Love Paul Rudd, so I endured it.
yeah, the “street level” vibe of the first two is what made them so much fun. This one was a mess.
I have yet to watch truly good phase 4 Marvel. The plots have just gotten so repetitive and dull.
Loki season 2 was awesome but this was absolute trash. Marvel obviously has soke good movies and shows but that doesnt justify a bad movie connected to it through a rough link.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3.
There was a TV series based on the movie with most of the original cast that was cancelled after 7 episodes ... somehow they thought not having John Corbett in it was a good idea 🤦♀️
They keep trying to capture the magic of the first, which was a surprise sleeper hit. They can't do it.
Heart of Stone on Netflix is quite literally one of the most boring movies ever. From the get go it just feels generic and by the end it feels like I’ve been waterboarded with boring juice
Yes! Felt hyped, started watched it, but could not finish it. Tried two-three times but could not!
Its so forgettable that one every three weeks i see the movie, think" that sounds cool", start watching it only to realise what it is.
Load More Replies...Full of clichés. I had the feeling that I'm watching a 007 movie with a woman hero who wants to desperately prove that can fit all the cliches from all 007 movies in just one...
They did Alia bad. Her acting is good in some movies but here it looked like she was just for the sake of being there.
It was certainly not great and probably not good, but it was not THAT bad. Compared to the other movies on list (mostly XXX2, XXX3, etc), this one was solid 6.
Is that Wonder Woman? Yeah, she’s a pretty face, not much of an actor.
Meg 2 - I like Statham, and don't mind simpleton movies - but this one was just too dumb
65 - I don't remember much - but I gave it a 5 on IMDB. So it can't be great
My partner and I are a sucker for really bad shark movies, so we laughed all the way through this. Thoroughly enjoyable. 😂
Nothing can ever compare to the majesty of Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus
Load More Replies...I love watching bad movies. My friends and I used to have crappy movie nights where we would watch dumb C and D list movies and laugh like maniacs. Come on, I even made it through (most of) the Star Wars holiday special and the Room. However, I just couldn't make it through the Meg 2. I felt like I was losing brain cells.
I made it through, but, barely. Won't watch Meg 2 again even as "something to have on." I liked 65.
The first one was awful - the second one stayed true to being awful so you got to give it credit for being consistent
Out of morbid curiosity I watched the Flash. Absolute garbage.
It's was ok and very much agree with you they should have used Grant
Load More Replies...I watched it with no expectation considering the state of dceu but this was indeed enjoyable to an extent. Yeah, the storyline was weak but it is always a problem with 'multiverse' superhero movies.
Michael Keaton reprising his Batman role is the only reason I bothered.
I came here to say this, the whole reason I watched it and enjoyed it was Michael Keaton. his whole screen time and character was freaking amazing, all the little call backs to the first movie they slipped into the new one for him. it was amazing. I was hoping for more of that realities Superman but she was good too. Flash not so much.
Load More Replies...I liked it? Think most DCEU to be horrible except for first Wonder Woman, I was pleasantly suprised to quite enjoy this.
I really enjoyed it, funny, and Michael Keaton saying “I’m Batman” was just awesome
It started out as pretty decent movie, but turned out too long and boring.
Wonka, it felt all over the place and I thought the singing was awful.
Nobody's ever gonna do better than Gene Wilder. Hollywood should just give up on this one.
Gene made a better Wonka, no doubt about it. That being said, I prefer the storyline of the Tim Burton version as it was truer to the book. Deep Roy as every Oompa Loompa was 1000x better than the orange monstrosities of the first. The "daddy issues" storyline could have been left out, except then we'd not have had Christopher Lee saying "CHOC-o-late" like it had personally insulted him.
Load More Replies...I recently watched it and it was pretty good, the singing wasn’t the best but it had a good storyline and the acting was pretty good. I overall liked it but thats my opinion
This! I really liked the movie bc it made the character waaay less like a psyco.
Load More Replies...I loved it, thought Hugh Grant was fabulous as the oompah loompah. Lovely film
I was going to avoid it because I love the original so much but Hugh Grant as an oompa loompa. I may need to check out some clips at least.
Load More Replies...Thats the beauty of it! It was not a remake, its a prequal. It takes us back to when W***y was literally fresh off the boat full of young ambition and hope. If you look you can see how much Timothee became Gene Wilders character before he burnt out.
Load More Replies...As someone who isn't a fan of either one of the previous movies, I really liked this one. No annoying kids, protagonist still a bit loony but not in a cringe, uncomfortable way. Also liked the way he lookes and characterization better, and I even find this version relatable at some points.
I don't like any of the adaptations of these books. Wonka is usually too nice, except for Depp. And he was creepy, but in the wrong ways. Why can't we just get a faithful adaptation?
The worst movie I saw that was released in 2023 was Spy Kids: Armageddon. I also don't know why I watched that movie either I guess I like to torture myself.
Here's the thing, I've watched the original movies of Spy Kids up to 1, 2 and 3. However by the third one, the plot line was a little out of context. As for the newer spinoffs, those didn't even last an hour with me, I simply dropped it and didn't bother watching the rest of it.
The new exorcist. Lazy writing, jump scares were half-assed and didn't work, editing was choppy and jarring, callbacks were forced and unnecessary. Worst of all, it was so freaking boring. Hated everything about it.
After 43 years, it remains the scariest movie I've ever seen.
Load More Replies...The only parts worth seeing were the actresses who played the original mother and daughter from the first. If they hadn't been in it (and Linda Blair only had literally a five-second scene) it would not have gotten any attention whatsoever.
Someone fell asleep watching it and woke up to an empty locked theater, saw a news story on it. Couldn’t have been that good (or scary)
The studio spent hundreds of millions to acquire the Exorcist rights, and this is what they do with it. Their first attempt was a dud, wonder if they'll do the other two films(this is supposed to be a trilogy)
The trailer was such click - bait as well, the trailer made it look like that " Chris MacNeil " ( the mum ) from the original movie was going to play a more prominent role in the film than she did. Her total screen time was probably what, no more than maybe 15 minutes....
I'd add the Pope's Exorcist to this. The kid's acting in the movie was just so bad I've yet to finish it. I keep starting to watch it because I think Russell Crowe is a great actor and there must be a reason he chose to do this. Money has to be the only reason because it was such trash. I really miss honest to goodness scary movies. I'm so tired of getting excited to see one based on a great trailer and then it's completely horrible. I also am so tired of horror movies being misclassified. I was going through Netflix's 'horror' category and Zombieland and Ghostbusters were in it. Those are not horror movies. Have these movies gotten so bad that we don't even have enough to call 'horror' anymore so we just add any movie with some blood in it to the horror category? I just want to watch a legit scary movie again. It's pretty bad that the movie most people say is the scariest is 50 years old. We haven't made a movie scary enough to beat The Exorcist in 50 freaking years. That's sad.
I actually really enjoyed Pope's Exorcist. It wasn't over the top, it wasn't heavy on jump scares, it played into some legitimate fears out there (losing control of oneself). And Crowe played the character the way the real guy actually was.
Load More Replies...The second film was pure Hollywood. They had no second book to adapt to a screenplay since the writer hadn't written one yet, but since the first one was such a hit, they didn't let that stop them, so they got some hack writers to throw a script together. The true sequel to the first film is actually The Excorcist III, which was actually pretty good.
Load More Replies...I enjoyed movie three. The book it's based on is Legion, by the same author. The book is beyond amazing. It really gets into some interesting theories about creation and the dark side thereof.

That Ana de Armas/Chris Evans spy movie. Don't even remember the name. My wife was excited to watch it and even she was blown away at how bad it was Edit: Ghosted. Thank you reddit for reminding me haha
u/DanGabriel:
As soon as they said that the goal was to recover a list of passcodes, the IT guy in me couldn’t watch anymore. Apparently, my checking account is more secure than our most vital national secrets.
I hate when that hacking in five seconds thing happens in movies. It hurts my brain to see that kinda lazy writing. Mr. Robot was the only series where I found an exception to this Hollywood hacking style.
They have as much chemistry as Trump and Hilary. It was bad. And the premise was a try hard.
God damnit I love you Charlie Day, but Fool's Paradise was the worst movie I've seen this year. Man it hurts to say.
Not related to Fool’s Paradise (painful), but let us not forget Rebel Moon. Zero character development, mashed-up line of events without any substantial depth or complexity, just soulless and flat.
The Creator.
So much special effects wasted on such bad writing. And it COULD have been great. The premise was good, quite interesting. Theexecution of the story was laughable.
Ha, my favorite movie of the year. There are dozens of us fans! Dozens!
I found the twist in the story interesting though. The fact that A.I. doesn't want to destroy the human race and doom and gloom and all that. Different to what I excpected.
Consider the mediocre dribble that Disney puts out won't have a budget south of 200 million and they're spending that on already established franchises without having to actually come up with a unique story. This movie had a budget of 80 million, I thought The Creator was decent, definitely did a lot with a little.
It's a bog standard "escort the saviour" movie with some half-decent pretty pictures.
Leave the world behind- stopped watching it 20 minutes into the film.
Knock at the cabin- I watched about 30 minutes into it I thought yea Oo has potential may get better nope accidentally left it running on in the background
I loved Leave the World Behind. The movie was filled with mysteries that kept me very interested. The Julia Roberts character was very annoying, because she was so bleak in her outlook. Still, I liked the movie a lot.
I watched it, i liked it. However, nothing really happened in the movie itself.
Load More Replies...Bad ending. So lazy of the directors to make us fill in the blanks ourselves. The daughter of the house owner irritated the heck out of me. They all behaved oddly. Only the father that rented the house was believable to me.
Spoilers: Wasn't too happy about the ending either. If I would have had a go at an ending I might have ended it like this: Bacon, Hawke and Mahershala Ali all die in a shootout fighting over the meds. Myha'la, Charlie Evans and Roberts are hit by another sonic wave (radioactivity??) and it effects all of them, all dying over the next few days. Only the character Rose (Farrah Mackenzie) is making it. I would keep her getting into the house, eating the snacks and finding her way into the bunker, turning on "Friends". But instead of ending here, a shape/person is getting in the house, into the basement and finally the bunker where Rose is watching Friends. In a flashback it is shown that it's the person coming all the way from the shed (where he/she was sleeping in the leafs) into this building. That person closes the bunker and locks it from inside. Rose is still unaware of the visitor. Fade to black...
Load More Replies...Dude I really liked this movie - because it was very symbolic and demonic . Anything that the Obamas produce is prob going to have some gas lighting, brain washing with subliminal messaging - so that's weird in itself. Plus anything with Ethan Hawk - is a win!
Agreed, it was OTT with the exaggerated character anxieties. If I had to spend time in a room with any one of them on a good day, I would be so confused about where the heck their head is at. Julia Roberts character especially took all of 5 minutes to get on my last nerve. As to the breakdown of society? Major bombs going off all over a big city within 2 days? Yeh, we are bad but that is some over exaggeration. Finally, how does someone come across a crashed plane and not desperately hunt for survivors and then go hunting down the nearest fire department or police dept? But, no, he walks away and back at the house mentions it much later like some freaking after thought that gets hardly any reaction and no "omg, we have to tell someone". Just rubbish.
Lion-Girl (2023), that whole movie was like if Power Rangers had a even lower budget. I'm pretty sure that creating that movie was just an excuse to get Tori Griffith naked as much as they could (which barely helped the movie). The action scenes were bad, the special effects were bad and the story was very predictable and felt like someone took the worst manga they could find and made a script out of it.
Transformer: Rise of the beasts. The action wasn’t even that cool
I've lost track of these films. I think I checked out after the third one. I may have watched the Bumblebee one as well, but I'm not sure.
The very first live action Transformers from 2007 is the only one that I've truly enjoyed.
It was like that in the cartoons back in the day. An excuse to sell new toys.
The still used above shows some real sĥîț green-screen skills. Look at the feet. If the whole movie was like this....
I actually enjoyed the Transformer movies, but this last one should've been baked a little longer before serving.
It’s a transformers. It’s going to be bad. The action was no worse than any other transformers movie.
The Bumblebee film brought this franchise two steps forward and this trash brought it three steps back. The story is completely moronic (not saying much for this franchise, granted) and instead of just doing something new or for itself, it just ended being an ersatz Michael Bay film. The thing that made me shutoff was one Transformer showing up to a "secret" meeting blasting music and getting loud, getting yelled at for it, only for a loudass plane Transformer flying super low over New York City to showup to the meeting the very next scene. Screw this dumbass film.
Eh, it was just OK. Once again, too many squishy moments. They need to make one with only giant alien robots fighting. That's what I want to see.
I thought Expend4bles was utterly shite from start to finish, but there was a small saving grace with the choreographed fight / gun battle on the ship deck. I mean none of them are particularly noteworthy but at least the first couple were *fun*. You can sit back and watch your old action heroes hip firing a mini-gun. This was *dead*.
However, a couple of weeks later I saw Sumotherhood, which is a sequel to Anuvahood. I doubt these mean anything to any non-Brits on here but they're p**s-takes of British crime dramas. What an absolute disgrace of a film, an appalling pile of wank. It followed the guise of "If I am being loud, I must be hilarious". A painful watch.
Beau is Afraid. It's billed as an absurdist black comedy, and it is none of those things.
I haven't seen it but a friend gave me a review because I like Joaquin Phoenix and... ugh. I'm so tired of these hipster 'too cool to make any sense' movies. I wish I had a better wording for it but there are just some movies that try too hard to be 'quirky' and 'insightful' but end up just being dumb. Thy treat the film like it's some intellectual study and it's just so forced. The Royal Tenenbaums was the high point of quirky smart movies and it's been downhill from there. I'm not even sure if this movie was supposed to be scary or funny or a drama or comedy..
hmmm it had it's moments - like when he goes into the part of looking for his sons and turning old etc... that was actually very sweet - but other then that I didn't understand what the hell I was watching and why i couldn't stop watching it even though I REALLY wanted to stap watching it.
After 20-30 minutes of this utter foolishness, I switched to another movie.
‘**Good Burger 2**, hands down the worst movie I’ve watched in the last *FIVE* years.
I have too much love for the first one to watch this. Don't want my happy memories of Kenan and Kel sullied

The Equaliser 3.
Denzel Washington spends 80% of the movie sitting in a chair drinking coffee, 15% walking around an Italian village like he’s on vacation and only 5% of action scenes that made his heart rate exceed 60 BPM.
My expectations were below zero, so no disappointment. I have to admit that the Equaliser and John Wick movies are what I use to fall asleep on the couch, so the worse, the better XD
Same here. I find myself watching both series regularly and are my go-to when I'm not sure what to watch before bed. I feel like even a bad Denzel movie is leaps and bounds better than so much of the c**p that's out there. Same with Keanu. Even if it's bad you just know it's at least going to be fun to watch. Certain actors just always deliver. I think Equalizer 3 was the weakest in the series for sure, but Denzel is still such a great actor that I still enjoyed it.
Load More Replies...WHAT?! This movie was excellent!! I love the whole series, but this was possibly the best of the 3! Or at least tied with the 1st.
I still don't know why they couldn't bring back the original Equalizer. I know most of the cast are dead, but William Zabka and Keith Szarabajka are still alive and could give the show at least a little authenticity.
The killer
Either I didn't get it, either it was just an action movie without any action.
I admit I had some expectation, David Fincher / Michael Fassbender / Tilda Swinton... Great cast and realisator. But I was bored during the movie.
It is so flat, bland and pointless. I don’t mean to insult anyone, but this is genuinely how I saw it.
I thought this movie was brilliant. After years of watching action movies, to get inside the assassin's mental and physical routine like this was practically an education. For those who haven't seen this, it's slow. More philosophical than action.
Expected to love it. Bored and underwhelmed. And I could have done without all the bloody tracks from The Smiths.
Five Nights at Freddy's
Watch “W***y’s Wonderland” with Nic Cage instead. Sure, it’s not Oscar-caliber and is an obvious ripoff of FNAF, but it’s crazy. And Cage’s character doesn’t speak a word.
The movie was made for the fans of the game and succeeded in that. However, I strongly assume that it's quite much of a meh for most people that didn't already know the franchise
I went to see it with my son (10). The theater was packed with kids around his age. All of them knew who was who in the movie. The collective gasps and awe when Springtrap finally appeared on screen was epic. What I think of the movie (passable) is irrelevant. The movie is for them, not me.
Load More Replies...This was definately a film for the fans of the game. The merch sold like crazy but several people I work with saw it and didn't get it but I also have coworkers that played the game that said it was great. There are two more movies planned and I promise you.... the fans will love it!
Well, we all were expecting too much. I think it was okay. Definitely not what FNAF movie should've been like but it was okay.
Oh, it wasn't that bad! I'm surprised that that stupid a*s Barbie movie isn't on here lol I think "Barbie" wins the award for movie to avoid. Wild horses couldn't drag me to that movie! Imagine wasting all that money to see that pile of poop at the theater!
I'm a fnaf fan, goes in long ways to enjoy every piece of scene. Fan art already made way after the movie and it's fun to have alternative interpretations.
Recently I happened to watch The Portable Door attracted by the interesting cast and the promise of a light, adventurous fantasy story, but I didn't enjoy it at all and regretted giving it a try. It felt like a total waste of time.
I started this but it didn't peak my interest enough to stay with it. I think I got 20 minutes in
The Ritual Killer…Hulu movies like The Boston Killer and To Catch a Killer were fun Hulu surprises… the Ritual Killer was another story….
Worst movie i watched this year would have to be the marvels...i say this even though i enjoyed it, just compared to eveything else i watched it was pretty bad. On the other hand though, the BEST one i saw was godzilla minus one.
The only good thing about the Marvel's is MS Marvel, they should have just given her another session of her show, which was fun
Load More Replies...This movie was utter shite and so disappointing. Morgan Freeman just phoning it in.
I didn't see many bad movies this year, and actually, I would say I only saw one. I know Its definitly not the worst movie of the year, but as far as the worst movie I saw this year go, I'd give it to Insidious: The Red Door. I was excited to see what they'd bring to the table to end that storyline, and it was so boring, unoriginal, dull, lame, poorly written and poorly paced. No hate to Patrick Wilson, I hope his next movie he directs will be great and I love him as an actor, but this was just outright bad and honestly really dissapointing. Other than Insidious, no movie I saw a movie that was "bad", and the movies I'd rank just above it get an "it's watchable" from me
Thing of note: I didn't see Blood and Honey, Thanksgiving, The Nun 2, Expendables 4, Beau Is Afraid and other movies most people are commonly mentioning.
Barbie sucked. I'm in the minority but there was no likable protagonist, the story was all over the place, the message was muddled, and why even have the Will Ferrel nonsensical part. Fast forward through most of it to get to interesting scenes that were just eh.
Ugh I totally agree. Most disappointing for me for sure. I couldn't believe how they tore the characters apart and they all became so unlikable. I was thinking how much I wanted the mask face demon to just go ahead and kill them all. Can we please stop taking all the best parts of characters and destroying them for the sake of trying to make it interesting? You made me like these people over the course of 2 other films and I was rooting for them. I saw how they fought together and stayed together because they loved each other. Now you destroy that by making them all unlikable and annoying. Can we not keep some things nice? They do it in so many tv shows and movies now. If you can't write characters without eventually destroying who they are or what they're built and worked toward in order to not get boring, then you aren't a good writer.
It's like they quit trying to make the films scary! They're so focused on the family angle, there's barely any jump scares or creepy tension like the first one is famous for!
Insomnia marred my judgment and I gave it a shot. Made it about 20 minutes into that worthless pile of slow motion garbage.
Load More Replies...Wonder woman was a terrible movie. Gal Gadot can't act and neither can Chris Pine. They had awful chemistry and the movie made zero sense.
I didn't like it either, loved the message and the first half, when she gets to the real world and gets cat called I thought it was a great moment but then I feel like it got lost in the weird Ken stuff and I didn't enjoy second half
Load More Replies...Agree. It was overrated. It went of for far too long and the sex scenes were unnecessary and bizarre.
Load More Replies...Barbie. I turned it off after 20 minutes. They could have turned the plot into something better, instead of going back and forth between Barbie land and the real world. Too cheesy for me.
Ugh thank you. I feel like I'm the only person who thought it wasn't good. I don't get the hype at all. And for the love of god can we please stop with musical numbers in movies that aren't musicals? I had some high hopes for this thinking it would be a really fun movie with some positive feminism vibes but it's not. It's just another 'I can be more than just a pretty girl' movie where once again we're fed the lie of being able to 'do anything we set our minds to'... which is fine for someone who looks like Margot Robbie and has her new real world friends to cover the rent and bills. I'm surprised they didn't have her put on glasses to really *sell* that she's smart and independent. Don't get me wrong...there were a few good moments, but not enough to match the hype that this was some bastion of feminism.
Load More Replies...I've seen two of the movies on this list. I hadn't even heard of any of the others... which means no one I know was even talking about them.
I’d be curious to see a list of the best movies of the year. Something tells me it would exclusively be Barbie and Oppenheimer. Neither I have really any desire to see because being better than the above trash heap isn’t difficult and I am finding it hard to work up any enthusiasm for movies right now.
Fast and Furious series. I know action films are not supposed to be 100% realistic but unless they are a fantasy genre, you still have to have some reality in it.
Lol I 99% of the time would agree with you but, honestly. I freaking love the insanity. It's the one time I'm totally okay with however unrealistic and crazy they want to be, feel free. Get thrown a hundred feet through the air and land on your back with no injuries? Sure. Cars in space? No problem. It's just such a fun franchise.
