The power of a great meme comes from its relatability. If a pic and a caption manage to connect with you (bonus points if they manage to do it in a wildly witty way), then you’re bound to share it with your friends because you think they’ll vibe with it, too. And that’s how things go viral.
That’s where the Women’s Humor social media project comes in. Though it describes itself as focused on humor that women love, we find that pretty much anyone, regardless of their gender, can enjoy the pics and memes. We’ve collected the funniest and most relatable posts from the project’s Twitter page, so scroll down, and check them out.
Bored Panda got in touch with comedy writer and published author Ariane Sherine with a few questions about memes, humor, and keeping content fresh. Read on to see what she told us.

He hated noise the most. In the book he didn't like Christmas because of all the noise, it was loud enough to hear up the mountain. If you've ever had neighbors that had music with their lights, you'd get it
The guy across the street from me has his Christmas lights on every night.
Load More Replies...Or just the noise, which is more relatable to me. The world is too loud.
This is probably the single most relatable meme I've seen in such a long time....
The Women’s Humor project has a massive presence on social media. On Twitter alone, it’s amassed a whopping 1 million followers. Meanwhile, it has another million fans over on Facebook, as well as a further 186k followers on Instagram.
The project has been running on Twitter all the way since August 2011. It’s worth repeating once again that most of the memes shared here are something that basically anyone will be able to vibe with because they’re so universal. However, the project states that it’s specifically focusing on the type of content that only women might enjoy.
There is a lot of goodness in the world! It just happens around other people.

Comedy expert Ariane, from the UK, shared her thoughts with Bored Panda on how to give a meme more staying power and help it attract more attention, aside from making it more relatable.
"Make sure your meme is original. People are less likely to share or like content they’ve already seen or which is similar," she told us.
"Ensure it’s topical for added impact. And, of course, make it as funny as possible. That way, people will be more willing to share it to make their friends and followers laugh."
I also dress like a grandma, because grandmas dress for comfort rather than for trends
That totally explains my fashion sense. I just thought I had terrible fashion but it turns out that it's just my inner old lady guiding my fashion 😊

Sofia!!!!!!! In high school there were four of us that were close, and we chose which Golden Girl we were most like. I was Sofia :) And now, a couple of (35) years later, the comparison holds true! Although I do look a bit more the part...
I have both, I can either be the most childish person you ever met or become a nagging grandma who complains about “kids these days” and makes sure everyone has sunscreen
I may never travel in my retirement, but old age has given me the freedom to finally live my life without suffering fools.
The caption is so accurate, and if anything could describe my life at this very moment, it is this!!
He needs a family. I am willing. Come home with me now. I WILL HUG YOU AND CUDDLE YOU ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!
Please do not tell the babies I thought they were meatballs on spaghetti.
Meanwhile, the comedy writer gave some tips on what content creators should remember to keep their content fresh and relatable.
"I used to read the news to come up with ideas. There are of course fresh stories every day, so reading them is a good way of dreaming up new content," she suggested. "Failing that, I took inspiration from everyday life and the situations I found myself in."
Ariane also shed some light on what determines what we laugh at and whether it's at all related to our gender. "I think it depends. As a female comedian, I found that some of the female audience would be turned off by anything crude, sweary, or gross out, whereas this was definitely less the case for men," she told Bored Panda.
"But of course, that isn’t the case for all women—I love crude and sweary humor!"
Trauma can give you a twisted sense of humor: case in point: My favorite bumper sticker is: Let's Put The FUN back in Funeral.
No it didn't. I was a child, I needed to be safe, not strong. Now I have a slew of physical and mental illnesses that I'm going to have to live with for the rest of my life.

Does anyone else pack underwear for a trip like they're planning on sh*tting themselves twice a day?
And extra pairs of underwear...I've never s**t myself during the day and needed a fresh pair but going on holiday? Better prepare in case I do!
But I think it’s like… when you’re near your house, you can easily get another change of clothes in case of an accident, whatever accident it is. When you’re on vacation, it’s different. The hotel becomes your house and in case of an accident, your house should have the things to replace whatever was damaged

naw, same pants for 4-5 days, not same shirt though. The "packing for a trip" part is true though.
Well, in normal life I barely leave the house, so if I need a change of clothes I can always go to my dresser and just retrieve one from the pile of unfolded, clean laundry that blocks the way to my wardrobe. But what am I to do when I'm away and go outside? Not only are there more chances to get a spill on my clothes, I can't just put my camera higher so the colleagues don't see it in zoom, I have to change and the only option are the clothes I put in my suitcase
I went on a trip to New York with my school's choir and you know everyone had been planning those outfits for 5 months since we started preparing. Some of them legitimately wore 3 different outfits a day, but they were also the ones who packed really thin layers and then froze because it was like 5 degrees C and we're from California lol
A lot of the memes shared by Women’s Humor focus on work issues, money problems, eating and partying way too much, being totally exhausted all the time, and chilling when things get far, far too stressful. These are all things that most adults can relate to if we’re being very honest.
It’s the kind of stuff that many folks will find themselves complaining about to their pals and coworkers, though it might not always be in meme format. And it has a lot to do with chronic stress, a lack of self-care, and burnout at work. Unfortunately, burnout is a very common theme in many workplaces.
A recent marketplace survey conducted by Deloitte found that the ‘always on’ work culture has led to a lot of stress and burnout. 77% of respondents admitted that they’ve experienced burnout at their current place of work. Meanwhile, more than half also revealed that this has happened multiple times. And the repercussions are very far-reaching.
I always end up sleeping 2 hours and then find I'm wide-awake when I should be in bed.
I would never be able to do that because my anxiety would be like “What if you sleep and miss something important?” “What if you sleep too long and everyone thinks you’re dead?” “What if you are buried alive because everyone thinks you’re dead?”
I don’t nap. Whether I need sleep or not, whether I sleep 20 mins or 4 hours, when I wake up I will be a cranky, whirly zombie the rest of the day and the world doesn’t need that. I’m picturing my brain shouting “You sleep at night or NOT AT ALL, young lady!”
I'm with you in no-naps club! For some reason a nap during the day only makes me more tired (and gives me a headache), so I'd rather just go to sleep a bit earlier.

Lol. My husband is going out of town for a couple of days and I'm so excited about the naps I'm planning on taking! He's never been a person who "believes" in taking naps. So annoying.
91% of respondents noted that all of this stress has a negative impact on their work while 83% said that it also affects their personal relationships. There’s also a deep dissonance at play here: 87% of working professionals said that they’re passionate about their jobs, but 64% admitted that they’re frequently stressed. In other words, just because someone’s passionate about their job doesn’t make them immune to stress or burnout—something that many of you Pandas reading this may know from experience.
The Deloitte survey also found that companies may not be very effective at ‘solving’ burnout as an issue. Around 70% of respondents felt that their employers weren’t doing enough to prevent burnout, and 21% said that their places of work did absolutely nothing to help prevent it. It’s not just well-being programs that businesses ought to consider. It’s the work culture itself that they need to invest in, too. For one, supportive leaders who recognize their employees’ achievements can do a lot to help mitigate workplace stress.
I get 'road rage' with people walking so very close behind me they catch the back of my feet. Do you want to get in my shoes? I'm going the same speed as others. Once I joined a queue for coffee on a station platform and had someone rant because I 'stopped suddenly' and they walked into me. I didn't stop randomly, I joined a queue which was very visible. In a car going into the back of someone would be their fault, on foot it should be no different. I can't see behind me - go around or don't walk so close.
Likewise, but in defense of others I have to say that I always walk the streets as if I'm fifteen minutes late for something. I'm just one step away (pun intended) from shouting, look in front of you and not your phone, the bike path is on the other side of the street and do you have to walk side by side and block the entire sidewalk!
I walk super-fast and plot my route in crowds up ahead - I don't tend to get cross with those in front of me as it is my choice to try and whizz through them, they can't see me coming up from behind! Blocking paths isn't great, some people aren't very aware of themselves in their surroundings - but a loud and cheerful 'excuse me' usually solves that problem. Especially if I'm walking one of my dogs locally. He's usually in a hurry to get to the next sniff - I tend to say 'dog in a hurry' and most people laugh at him.

It’s not like a worker’s going to stick around in a toxic, high-stress environment forever. There comes a point in time when everybody, no matter how tough, reaches their limit. A company’s top talents might decide that the high salary might no longer be worth their sleepless nights, horrific overtime, and constant tension. According to Deloitte, half of the millennials who participated in their survey said they left a job because of burnout. And we all know how expensive and time-consuming it is to replace and train new employees.
So, irrelevant fun fact about vultures, because they're super cool. New World (North and South America) and Old World (Europe, Asia, and Africa) vultures aren't related. It's a process called convergent evolution, which means that two seperate species evolved in the same way. So, vultures are so important and nessecary that they formed twice. Isn't that neat?
LOL! I have one male coworker in a department of 14. I wore a new dress and he came right up and asked me if it had pockets. His four sisters trained him very well. :D
But how disappointing it is when the material is a stretch jersey and the pockets are useless 😰

Though the employer should do everything in their power to create an environment where the chances of burnout are slim, the reality is that workers will always face some level of stress at the office. That’s the nature of having a job! Tight deadlines, unexpected issues, new responsibilities, and having to work a bit of overtime—these are all things that can add to someone’s stress levels.
To be fair, I'm not sure I know what a government is anymore! I thought I knew, but I can't see the things I thought they were responsible for doing happening.

I get a call 20 minutes later, and it's my friend wailing "MY HOUSE IS GONE." After some back and forth I was like "...I'm too drunk to do this right now," and hung up.He woke up the next morning in the bushes outside a house on a street that ran parallel to ours.
Not as bad as the night I drunkenly tried to pay for our cab (before Uber was around, yeah, I'm old) with cigarettes. Not a full pack, mind you, just a handful of smokes from my pack. Had to leave a few for me, of course. These things cost me money, why couldn't the driver see their value?! Luckily, I wasn't alone, and the boyfriend picked up the tab. I kept him around for 20 more years after that, I was so impressed! ;-)
Love how the lastessage says where am I going? Well, nobody knows buddy. That's what your friend is trying to figure out
However, so long as the workloads are more or less manageable (read: you’re not doing 2+ people’s jobs because your boss is unwilling to hire more folks), you’ve got a decent support structure in place, and a manager who listens and genuinely cares for your welfare, you should be fine. Though if you feel like you’re chronically stressed and exhausted, there are some things that you can focus on, personally, to improve your situation.

As we’ve covered on Bored Panda before, if you want to be brimming with energy, more focused and productive at work, then you need to put in the time to take care of your physical and mental health. Starts with the absolute basics like getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, drinking enough water (around 3.7 liters for men and 2.7 liters for women), eating right (avoiding high-sugar, high-fat, and processed foods, limiting your caffeine and alcohol intake), and getting plenty of exercise (around 150 minutes each week).

Meanwhile, strive to set some healthy boundaries to preserve (at least some) work-life balance. For instance, you can try to avoid working overtime if it’s something that you do regularly. Or you could stop checking your work email and taking calls after hours. Nobody else is going to enforce those boundaries, so we all need to find ways to protect what little free time we have left. If things are getting completely out of hand, consider taking a few sick days for your mental health. You could use that time to rest and recharge… or look for a different job. One where— hopefully—you can feel like a proper human being who doesn’t vibe with memes about exhaustion.

Yeah but I'm already hating the day at 7am and don't want to leave the bed.
THIS ! I want this as a poster in every room in my house ;) so I remind myself that I am not the only one. .
Mine has a lag time, so I'll get up, go to the kitchen then have to cling onto the stovetop to avoid collapsing
Sorry for spamming everyone with the same reply, but I think this health info is too important not to share!
After running a mile in PE class in middle school once I almost fainted after standing up...
onetime, I was laying on my couch, I got up walked into the kitchen grabbed a snack, and ended up so dizzy that when it stopped I forgot what I was doing. This other time I didn't even make it ten feet when I fell backward and accidentally landed on my cat from dizziness.

Just get a thick down duvet and keep a thick wool blanket by the bed to throw over if that's too cold some nights. Hot water bottle under there 10 min before bed (or a big soda bottle with warm water). Relax it with the fan in the winter, AND you might find you don't need much heat in the room with that bedding arraingement. Thank me later.
not to forget - when you see you left the closet door a bit cracked open and you are far away from it to close it but you can't decide to face your fear and get up to do it or stay completely buried in the blanket cause it's safe but just way too hot.
Actually I read once that Catherine O’Hara chose how she did her hair in the vast majority of scenes in Schitt’s Creek…

I have absolutely no idea why some pissflap had the nerve to downvote you but I fixed it. You're only giving additional context and factual details related to the post. My favorite of Schiaparelli's surrealist looks is the skeleton dress.

My son once said as a child, I don't think people are such nice animals.
Seriously though. I feel like pets are just the nicer version of people most of the time.
They’re quiet, they are very therapeutic to cuddle, and they have these BEAUTIFUL BLACK EYES that just stare into your soul and say “it’s okay, I’m here”

It's okay to drop cats, because they always land on their feet. Human babies, not so much.
Because animals are everything good and people are everything horrifying.
Totally me. But then I wonder if it’s bad how much I love relaxing at home when I see people at work heading out several times a weekend.

Nah, unless it's too hot and we're too sweaty, we hold each other all night, most of the time. Or spoon, at least. It's comforting having someone you love in your arms, or holding you in theirs.
Obviously neither of you are sleep-kickers. I kick the wall so much in my sleep that I think I should take up soccer again.

Don't touch me. Stop breathing so loud. And for the love of God give me some of the blanket. Good night. I love you.
My friend has a double duvet and it is a nightmare to sleep two people in. How anyone manages to get comfortable is beyond me. Can't turn as you want, keep waking up because the other person turns and pulls the duvet, the other person gets clammy and damps up the whole situation (i hardly ever sweat), suddenly wake up because someone's skin is touching yours, not able to bunch duvet up between legs, and can only sleep on one side because the other side has no edge and a person instead. UGH
No....my hubby and I must touch.... MUST! As little as a foot or neither of us can sleep
Decades ago my parents were ahead of their time. My mom had a serious health issue that would make my dad wake up as they slept in a double bed. She had the idea to have a headboard built where 2 single bed bed frames could fit with the same double headboard. The beds could be secured together with a latch underneath the foot of the bed. The Latch could be undone, separate the single beds and she wouldn’t wake dad up. This was in 1967.
Sure, but when you sit outside of someone else's house you're "a stalker" and "if you don't leave I'm calling the police". Talk about double standards.

I stutter. And once I managed to send two dudes in the wrong direction. Unfortunately I was still there when they came back and asked me you were playing with us, weren't you. Dude, I was just panicking.
If you go in the exact opposite direction I told you to go 80% of the time you'll probably end up where you want to be.

When you tell someone about a location. They ask you "Is it when you go over the bridge, turn right at that first traffic light, past the post office...." and you go yes, yes because you think you are one the same page and then suddenly they say "Then there is that new butcher on the left" and you realize that you know about the new butcher shop, but it is not even near where you were going in your head whilst discussing the step by step directions with this person.... w.t.f.
It’s the difference between knowing and telling. You can get there intuitively, but breaking it down into clear instructions stumps you. I remember a friend, who had lived in the area their whole life, tried to give me, a newcomer, directions that included “Then turn right where the Cates Pickle sign used to be”. USED to be. Not there now, not even any sign there used to be a sign there. Turned out, that sign had been ancient. It deteriorated over the years and finally fell down about a decade before I was given those directions—-and they were directions to a friend’s house way TF out in the boondocks, and this was way before GPS and cellphones, so I got lost until I finally saw a country store and used their phone. Glad I started with a full tank of gas.
I alwaya get asked for directions around my area, i put on a country accent and say im not from around here
I've accidently given someone the wrong directions ... I had to run after them ... Awkward
I give out directions by landmarks! It's not my fault if you don't know what I mean.
That's scoliosis, and to fix this I had to have an operation and 8 months in a plaster cast to correct this.

I'm close. Because of multiple surgeries for a hip disease growing up, I'm left with almost no "ball" part to one of my leg/hip ball-and-socket joint. As a result, one leg is around 2" shorter and with a limited range of motion. Try walking with one flat shoe and another in 2" heel- normal walking for me (or try walking with only one side on a 2" curb)

For some reason I enjoy listening to True crime podcasts in the morning. You know when you only coffee and not ready for any kind of communication or media except for the serial killers' stories. Again for some reason, I have no idea myself
I don't know if I speak for any other true crime lovers but, though I am interested in forensic psychology, the fact that the killers are caught in the end is inherently comforting. Despite the frightening nature of the crimes. This is probably why I am less interested in docs about unsolved cases
