Whether or not you agree that dogs are man's best friend, I hope we can at least agree that they're an endless source of wholesome and heartwarming moments.
These loyal and loving creatures bring joy not only to their owners but also everyone they pass as well. All it takes is a single enthusiastic tail wag or a quirky head tilt, and we're smiling like fools.
The fact that these precious animals can do that even on the toughest days — when negativity is at the forefront — is tough to beat.

This isn't.. this is definitely a mixed breed aka designer dog.. he's bred with the over bred pugs today as the dad and a bigger dog to carry, at least I hope they didn't make a poor pug carry the larger breed pup 😩and don't get me started on Shar peis ..we don't deserve dogs😭😭😭 ( not we as you personally and me but humans 😩)

Retro pugs are mixed breeds consisting of a purebred pug bred with a Jack Russell terrier so the pug can breathe more easily. This fellow is quite tall though so I’m not sure what he’s been mixed with.

I've seen some mixed with mini-pomeranians, so cute! Some inherited the Pomeranian fur and they're just adorable little fluffballs. The picture is not a retro pug though

The pugs are bred with more healthy breeds and then the healthiest puppies are with others retro pugs (or regular pugs/healthy breeds) to create a rather large gene pool with pugs that are much healthier, but still pugs.

I agree. It’s a nice looking mixed breed dog (and mixed breeds are superior for many reasons, including better health) but I wouldn’t call it a pug.

well... they are heading in the right direction. they just need to remember pugs are pugs and breed the long nose like they bred the short nose. find the longest nose in the litter and breed it to the shortest nose in the next litter and keep doing that till you got a proper dog again. reverse technology

Stop breading animals for stupid reasons! At least people back then did it for reasons like „making them a better hunter“ but nowadays they just breed for esthetics, which is just cruel. Start breading animals for… longer life spans and less health issues.

Awesome! Breeding for flat faces should just not be allowed. Dog and cat shows really need to change the idea of breed standards so that dogs are bred for health.

That looks like a Great Dane <3 my parents had a Dane when I was born. I am told that she was my guardian and protector. I apparently rode her like a pony often, would toddle around the yard while gripping her tail, etc. and she put up with all my shenanigans patiently. My parents told me that one day I escaped the house and went right over to the pool. I stepped into the water on the first step, and Chashu was there in a flash and pulled me out of the water before I could fall in/get in over my head. Danes are the best!

I accidentally dud this to my lab once. Gave him his favorite- salmon skin- in his bowl after dinner and didn't say "okay"- his release word. Started cleaning up the kitchen, looked over, and my poor boy had shoestrings of drool almost to the floor but he had not eaten. I felt like an a*s, but I was also so d@mn proud of him!

For anyone who needs to know - Envigo was a company that bred dogs for research. The faciliy was investigated and 4000 beagles rescued due to being kept in inhumane conditions. The parent company was never fined or prosecuted in exchange for the company being barred from engaging in any work that requires keeping or using animals.

Never had a dog,lost my old girl cat who was 23 yrs old,that was 6 months ago.and man I miss her.Im going through some intense treatment at the moment and miss her so kuch,her cuddles and purring ,she would sit on me and just love me .Seeing all these dogs I wonder if I might go to the dog pound and see if one wants to adopt hubby and I

My son is high functioning Autistic, but he has major anger issues. He's only 11, but it can be scary how angry he gets. We got a service dog for him and when my son starts to lose control the dog will run over and nuzzle him and whine. It almost instantly brings him back to center. I am for ever grateful for that dog. It's been so good for him and us as a family.
