Oh, the baby. You'd think that experience would make him terrified of even the smell of smoke. Such courage.
His scar looks like Harry Potter's. Also, I really want to hug him!
Wonder what the cat and other non-dog patients think of doctor doggo?
I hope the patient dog has gotten better since this picture was taken.
This immediately moved me to tears, would that they could have homes where they sleep in and share love every night, but bless these humane beings for offering up sanctuary.
Me too this particular pic made me cry and made my heart jump. These things make me proud of my fellow humans
Load More Replies...I didn't expect to tear up so quickly in this post- but seeing someone run to the dog they thought they lost... oh my heart.
That house is nothing but charred remains and this pup seems ok, I wonder how. Definitely nothing short of a miracle.
You might want to see a doctor about that, an enlarged heart can be a problem.
Load More Replies...One of the sweetest photos ever. Love the expression on the doggie’s face
No you don't know what happened, sometimes priorities are skewed and that's where smart puppers like this come in and save the day!
Load More Replies...Some phones have an emergency button - he was likely to have been trained to hit that.
Load More Replies...I fainted twice - two days in a row - in May, 2015. Our loving female cat circled around my wife and me, very attentive and caring, as if she wanted to help. Certainly, neither cats nor dogs are close to stupid but extremely caring.
Sweetie looks like she knows this is one of the last times she'll be enjoying the sunshine, so full of nostalgia.
My dog did this too. She had a cancerous tumor in her stomach and one day we let her outback and when I walked back over to her after about 5 minutes of letting her be alone, I found her sitting like this, the sunset shining on her face and I just knew in that moment she was ready to go. I could see it in her eyes. She passed away peacefully that night. This picture brings all those emotions back.
Load More Replies...My old pupper was very sick the end of his life but he still loved walks, so we put him in the wagon to go for walks. My little brother was very young at the time and one day and to ride with him. They both fell asleep together in that wagon riding through the sunshine. My heart melted that day.
Sweet. ☺️ But sad ☹️. You are a great mom or dad to do this, such a small thing to make her happy 😊
I feel the same way! If only someone would turn the giant heater in the sky down a couple degrees!
Load More Replies...You're amazing. Helping neighbors is the best and this dog was probably so bored as well. So happy you helped him, enriched his life, and made the lady happy as well (assuming here, but who doesn't want their dog happy?)
A former neighbor inherited a dog that hadn’t been walked in who knows how long, plus the woman had dementia and never knew if she’d fed him, so she’d feed him again! Plus all the table scraps. After they’d had him a few months, he’d lost so much weight that he looked like a different dog!! He was the sweetest long haired dachshund.
Load More Replies...This is one of the best pictures I have seen in several weeks. The look of that doggos face is absolutely awesome. And the way he hugs her and rests his head on her shoulder. I hope he live s a happy ever after now :)
My neighbor woke up one morning to find my cat sitting on his couch Buddah style. Apparently they had a dog door and my cat took that to mean all are welcome.
That is true love right there! I love the little smile in the puppy’s face
<3 My pup only once or twice slept like that on my neck. I thought my heart would burst. I still have a much loved, very grainy selfie of one occasion.
It's always too fast. Every parent understands it with a bit of proud and sadness. Pure beauty.
I LOVE this! And the bundle in blue grew up loving animals. The best part about it!
brought tender tears....thanks so much for sharing this---beautiful!!!
That made me think back on my kids being younger and the memories... The one time I yelled out the back door... Sandy, Princess... time for dinner! My son comes up and said: We are Michail and Chris, NOT Sandy and Princess! I love those memories! <3
Seem like that would be a lot less hassle in the long run.
Load More Replies...What do you mean? Clearly all of them are best friends :D
Load More Replies...He might grow into them but we can secretly hope not! So very cute.
Load More Replies...-the picture hadn't loaded yet- Me: Why would they name him Dob-HOLY EARS! <3
With those ears and coloring I wonder if he could be a mix of corgi and coyote? Just a wild guess.
I have a "Walter" on my walk to work, her name is Bella and she is a Samoyed and the happiest 9 month old and is my anti-depressant morning and afternoon.
A couple of treats every week is not going to hurt a dog, this guy is a recycling collector meaning he collects once a week, calm yourself down!
Load More Replies...I had CPR preformed on me, and was incubated with a 2% chance of living. That was 2 and a half weeks ago and my wife tells me that my Basset Hound Buster, named after the dog from Toy Story, has been laying by the front door every waking moment of the day, and in the hall at night waiting for me to return. He is such a Beautiful black, white, and brown miniature Basset Hound. I came very close to dying. I go home today, and I cannot wait to see Daddy's Boy. I am so glad to have survived.
I hope you are doing ok now and that Buster didn’t jump on you too much when you got home
Load More Replies...Well, now you have to keep him. Once a pet chooses their new mom/dad, you have no choice but to marry them. It's the law.
Always. ALWAYS let your dog—-or cat—-be your dating judge. They will always weed out the bad ones and pick the truly good ones for you.
So happy they get to be together!! Separating them when they've bonded is too sad.
Me and my ex also have two furry girls ( mum and daughter btw). The daughter is mine and the mum is his ... since 3 years we are alternating custody to not separate her fro each other :)
My ex sold our dogs behind my back, even gave away my 12 yo, so I understand what a joy it must have been to get him back. I never saw them again.
Back in 2001 I worked at a vet and one day this lady came in with their German shepherd that we have seen since he was a puppy and he was now around 4 years old. She was adamant about putting him to sleep. Didn’t want to sit in the room, just handed me the leash and walked out without hugging or petting him. Our veterinarian was PISSED. So we looked through all his paperwork and found the husband’s work phone number and called him. 15 minutes later he comes running into the office with tears in his eyes and collapsed to his knees when we gave his dog back to him. He had just recently caught his wife cheating and was filing for a divorce. He was juggling moving out of their house and in to a new place and work and everything else you do when your wife is a cheating whore. This was the cherry on top. I think everyone at the vet office cried that day. We saw them again a bit later when their shots came due and both the dog and dad were doing great.
The human race does not deserve dogs.....or Keanu Reeves...yet here we are.....this made my heart happy.
Or Keanu Reeves Hahahaha, I love it!! You know what? I agree %100!!
Load More Replies...I’d never go to a concert again if I had to to save a puppy and give him a home
Load More Replies...Very cute... But shouldn't you try at least a bit to find where he comes from before claiming it's yours ? There might be a very sad owner right now somewhere nearby
Maybe, just maybe he did that and couldn't find the owner? Is it possible he didn't want to post a 50 line description to put you at ease for the kind thing he did? Smh
Load More Replies...Found original Reddit thread from 2018: Puppy was returned to owner next day.
Poor Ralph! Looks like he doesn't want to be in the bath, but REALLY didn't want to be alone- so the bath it is.
Fireworks are also very harmful to the environment. Terrible beauty. https://www.terrapass.com/fireworks-impact-environment
Load More Replies...Bless his heart! I wish EVERYONE would embrace the silent fireworks! They can still be pretty and NOT noisy! <3
I have never heard of silent fireworks! Interesting! Animals & children would enjoy that way better!
Load More Replies...my dog only wanted a bath if I were in the tub with him.. it was a lot less hassle.
Nice. I have a cat and I want a malamute. Hope some day it will happen.
From experience, I can say that they will bond but it'll take some time.
Load More Replies...That's trouble just waiting to happen, right there. Adorable, fluffy trouble. lol
The AKC advises that Huskies have a very strong prey drive and should be supervised around *any* small animals. The sight of a small prey animal running can often kick in their natural instinct to chase, and eat, their prey. Huskies were bred to survive in harsh conditions. Exercise caution. Just because your Husky is your furkid doesn't make them perfect.
Yeah. It might work right now. But I wouldn't trust that it will always work.
Load More Replies...Our cat had kittens when we had a husky. He would lie down and let the tiny ones walk all over him.
this is raven and woodhouse. raven chose the kitten, woodhouse when he was a puppy. they're still best friends.
on second look, they look very similar to raven and woodhouse.
Load More Replies...to be fair, I believe the morning has more to do with the amount of shedding 🤣
We all have some unhappy moments, but I believe anyone who suffers with depression, should have a pet if possible, your bad days become bearable !!!
I always want to cut of the previous owner's ears when I see this s**t. Totally disgusting.
I hate that "people" often self "cut" the dog's ears (especially bully breeds) to make them look tough; and if they were "bred" to fight, it is one less part to get caught and torn. It is a brutal process, often done without any sort of sterile environment or numbing. These types of "people" tend to look at the dogs as "property" and not as beings. It is very sad. *note the quotations around the words... definite sarcasm dripping out from my key board.
What kind of arsehole does this? I’d like to chop off more than the previous owner’s ears!
@Natasha it is a horrible and extremely abusive practice that is used amongst sick human beings who like to call themselves “dog fighters”. The poor dogs’ ears are cropped (mangled would be a better term) to make them look tougher. :( I’m glad this dog got a second lease at life and was adopted by a wonderful person.
Load More Replies...I was at pet supplies plus a month-ish ago and there was a guy walking around with a tiny pit bill puppy cradled in his arms. I go to pet it and notice both it’s ears and tail had been chopped off and stitched up with giant purple stitches poking out like evil zippers. I bet the puppy wasn’t even close to 2 months old it still had a puppy belly. I had a huge urge to rescue the puppy and run out of there into the night.
These monsters that cut off ears and tails should be forbidden to ever own any animals. Better yet the should pay a heavy fine and made to work for a dog shelter for 4 years during their weekends and free time.
They shouldn't be allowed to live in society. Whoever can do this to a poor animal has no empathy whatsoever. A monster like this can also harm a child or a "weak" person without feeling any kind of remorse. They are dangerous and should be kept in a cage for the rest of their lives.
Load More Replies...Did you meow ? I noticed that's how they try to understand what's wrong if a human meows or do other questionable acts.
Any unusual sound will compel a dog to tilt their had to hear it better.
Load More Replies...Boomer should be proud! They should do this at shelters to help the pets get adopted.
Good job Ivy! I also think the owner deserves a kudos as well for training her like that :)
I had two dogs who would do the same for me. We had a large lot and children would come and play with mine and when all was over, well you just wouldn't believe the debris left by them. My girls had to clean it up and then they made their friends pick up dropped stuff but there was still stuff. The dogs would sniff out gum wrapper to plastic bottles and bring them to me. They loved to do it and when all was picked up they brought me small rocks or twigs until I told them it was time to go into the house. Loved those dogs.
She has a very important job then. And looking at the scary condition of our planet, we need her and many more of her really, really badly.
That’s amazing! How long did it take to train her? I just marvel at the things people train their dogs! It’s really AMAZING! Please give Ivy a hug & kiss from me...
HAHAHAHAHA THAT IS 100% A LEONBERGER HOPE YOU LIKE GIGANTIC, LONG LONG HAIRED DOGS HAHAHAHAHA but still they are so cute and so sweet I love them so it's actually a win
Wow wow wow that's amazing. Whenever my dog sees a camera he immediately looks in the other direction /:/
:'-( I hate the idea of my dog being unhappy when I'm not at home. She sleeps, she eats, she's not super stressed but she still hates being left behind and I hate it too. But bills need to be paid...
Why would you get a new puppy when you know you're not going to be able to spend much time with him?
Clearly someone is with him. He's not alone. And why do you assume this person can't spend "much" time with the dog? They only went to school, not the moon. They'll be back in a few hours.
Load More Replies...I would get all fuzzy and warm if that was me, I bet she felt very loved by her furry friend!
HE... IS... ALMOST... TOO... CUTE... TO.., LOOK... AT..... I feel fluffy in my heart!
Love it, first generation picture I see of furry friends. Beautiful.
My parents Golden retriever would extend her leg across the step when my then 9 month old nephew would play in his walker so her wouldn't fall off the step.
When brought our daughter home from hospital our English bull terrier and I would race to her side when she'd cry - so adorable to see!!
My mom’s poodle thinks she’s the nanny of all babies that come to her house! With both of my great nephews, as soon as they would start to fuss or cry, she would come and jump on the boys’ mom or any other adult she could get to easily and jump against our knees and then stare at us until the baby stopped crying!! Even if you were already holding the baby!! The boys’ mom (my niece) said her cocker spaniel was the same way when they were at home!!
Uhh maybe you should worry less about taking pics and more about securing your baby so it doesn't feel so alone
What a poisonous comment! I don't think the baby feels alone, or is in any kind of danger. Perhaps you should examine your own life instead of criticising others'. Maybe you should worry less about other people's responsabilities and more about doing something positive for somebody else.
Load More Replies...I need a mom and child version of this. Maybe start at 1 year then 3,5,7,9,11,13 and so on. Somebody who’s pregnant do this please.
it's a common practice to raise cheetah cubs with puppies as playmates. I think I heard that they do the same with race horse and goats.
They give dog friends to cheetahs to give them more confidence around other animals
Load More Replies...Actually, cheetahs in zoos often have anxiety/stress issues, even in groups. Sometimes stressy cheetah +stressy cheetah just gives you two stressed kitties. At some zoos they get given therapy dogs, usually goldens, to keep them company and chill them out. Apparently it works really well.
Cheetah moms can't raise a single cub on their own--just one cub won't stimulate milk production. When a single cub is born in a breeding program, they are cared for by humans and given a dog as a playmate and socialization mentor. If you're on I5 in Oregon, the Wildlife Safari Park in Winston is a great place to see this conservation effort in practice.
Noooo, Maggie still isn’t getting enough attention? We love you Maggie xx
She reminds me of my Daisy dog. I miss her so much. Give Maggie attention!!
"Shame on you"?? Seems a bit much don't you think? Maybe the pup is a service dog and is in it's full right to be there?? I think I'm just going to enjoy the picture and leave it up to you to place shame on people...
You really think that a puppy that young, stitting in a cart, that isn’t even wearing a leash or a vest is a service dog?
Load More Replies...I'm VERY allergic to cats and I'm grateful people don't put their cats in the cart I will later use to buy stuff. Same goes for dogs and other allergy sufferer. Please be considerate of other people who have to live with a different reality than you. If it's a service animal, fine, but don't put him/her in the cart.
For those of you upset about dogs in stores, I'm betting that dog has no more germs than most of the people in the store, including YOU!!
I honestly don't understand all the fuss, like, do you imagine how many people take carts with hands that have been places? I can't imagine what kind of germs dog may transfer that human otherwise would be safe of..
Oh cmon people, I've seen hundreds of dogs at target. This good boi is perfectly fine because he's in the cart, and he's a small pupper. The reason why they say "no dogs allowed" at stores is so they won't run around the place ripping/chewing stuff up. They let service dogs in obviously because those people need them, but even then, who says a service dog isn't as germ-y as a regular dog? After all, they're both dogs...
Another reason most of you seem to overlook is that there are actual people who have a fear of dogs. Oh and possibly too, they don't want the dogs to pee or c**p all over the store. Ooooh or hey, how about something innocent triggers a dog that isn't trained to attack someone, god forbid a child. The rules are there for a reason and that reason isn't there for you to ignore!
Load More Replies...I come to BP because the posts are fun and FOR THE MOST PART people don’t fight like children. Today is not one of those days. Yes it’s illegal to take pets in stores that sell food. No, service animals are not pets. This may be a dog in training, only the owner knows. Don’t fight between each other on here, talk to your local grocery store if it bothers you so much. There are people in my town that bring large, aggressive dogs that they can’t control into the grocery store, where the DO do their business near the cooler cases. Our store says they can only ask if it’s a service animal, if the person says yes, that’s it. If they say no, the store can ask them to leave. If our health department happens to be in the store, they can do something to the people that are in there without service animal vests on. Also, there are many many reasons for service animals other than to help the blind. PTSD, seizures, anxiety/ panic attacks, diabetes. Many others.
service dogs aren't just eyes for blinds, trained in a certain way to lead walking with opportune harnesses, it can be just a relief for less visible incapacitations like panic attacks or depression, so yes, this can be a very helpful service dogs, despite what rules says.
This particular dog is not a service dog, just a pet.

Heterochromia is that genetic connotation that gives everyone who has, that stares look "what is everybody looking at"
Load More Replies...That dog has a big ol head compared to the body. But he's also very fashionable!
I wonder if he likes to listen to Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
Load More Replies...This handsome puppers. Can we start a GQ magazine for doggie: maybe call it K9 or something. He will grace the cover.
I'm allergic to dogs saliva and fur but I would definitely find a way to have dogs allowed in my office!!
I give them back to my dog because I know he cant swallow it and he loves just chewing on it. (I watch him while he has it still though and take it away when I leave)
He totally understands what's going on and who this is, and what his responsibilities are now. It's all in his eyes.
Ahhhhh I can't stand it!!! All this sugar!! I'm getting cavities!!! So adorable!!
Either this is confusing perspective or that dog is stuffed into that suitcase. I hope not the latter, that can't be healthy
In some countries dogs aren’t allowed on public transport, unless they’re small enough to be carried in a bag. The end result is that you sometimes see some very large bags!
Load More Replies...My girl picked out a $35 toy and wouldn't let it go. That toy didn't last 3 days, haha.
my silly havanese used to try to make friends with her reflection, few times booped the cold glass and, after that, just kept some distance, and kept barking at it :)
Yes, Americans are weird but they clearly love the dog (fluffy bed and numerous toys as evidence).
I have never felt the need to use a kennel because I have chronic illnesses/pain that keep me home a lot but to the people who think they are cruel, why is it any different than a parent putting their child in a playpen for safety's sake while they cook or take a shower? It's a safe place for the pet to be left unattended.
Exactly. I have a terrier mix & if I allowed him free run of the house when we weren't home, he'd be a constant danger to himself. He's hyper with a short attention span and will eat whatever isn't nailed down.
Load More Replies...My dog loves his crate as it is his place where no one is allowed to bother him and he can sleep in peace. When his at home during the day half the time he is in his crate taking a nap.
We assign numbers to Dalmatians from 1 to 101 according to how many spots they have this is #94.
Wrong. We lock him in the cage at night because he will break the occasional window if he hears cats fighting outside. It's not torture, if he were to be out, he could break more windows and get hurt. He's lucky he hasn't gotten hurt yet. Also, we properly trained him so that he could see it as his home, room, bed, etc. And not a trap. Often times he will sleep there during the day without us telling him to.
Load More Replies...If you have a dog it's always a good idea to have a kennel, just in case they need treatment, or for travelling. Common sense.
Load More Replies...Idiots in Los Angeles light them (illegally) the entire month of June on into July. Poor dogs, poor Veterans with PTSD.
oh, so my neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY isn't the only one. They started a 1.5 before July 4 here. My cats keep looking at me asking whats wrong. Last year a firework came too close to a window that Rascal was sitting in so she freaked of course. As did I.
Load More Replies...Our local strip mall does fireworks every weekend to "thank" the community. Between almost daily thunderstorms and now weekly fireworks my poor dogmas a wreck. I can't imagine why our town allows them this often just based on the damage to the environment alone.

Load More Replies...Please may I share just one more picture with you? Shilo was a rescue dog. He was born on the side of the road with his three brothers. His mother was abandoned there when she was pregnant. Thankfully he, his mother and three brothers were found and all went to happy, loving, forever homes. When we went to get Shilo form the shelter it was just after losing another beautiful Border Collie called Samba who was just the most beautiful dog in every way. We were still devasted by his loss but we wanted a rescue dog and another Collie and we found Shilo. When we were deciding which puppy to choose my mother picked up Shilo and he just snuggled into the the nape of her neck and cuddled into her. He chose us as much as we chose him. I truly believe that he rescued us as much as we rescued him. He is just the perfect mix of love and fun and so completly loyal. The photo here is when mum picked Shilo up and he cuddled into her. This is my dog Shilo the black and white Collie and his 2 best friends Toby the Shih Tzu and Rua ( Gaelic word for red) long haired Daschund. Because we live in rural Ireland and next to fields full of sheep and because he is quite a big dog, Shilo has been taught from when he was a puppy not to leave the garden. His 2 little friends live down a lane next to our house and come and visit him and play with him in our garden instead. We call them the three amigos. Despite his size (he is twice their height) Shilo is always gentle with them and they all love playing with each other.
