Here's another tip for people in the US, your miranda rights are required to be read at an interrogation, not an arrest. Keep your mouth shut if arrested, anything you say while being arrested can be used whether the miranda rights were read or not. Most of the time the judge will side with the police and say that an arrest does not constitute an interrogation therefore reading of the rights is not required

But 99% of criminals who actually committed the crime say they're innocent, so I don't understand how they got these numbers.
Path of least resistance. Especially with the twisted way the U.S. justice system is. When its framed as go to jail for 15yrs for a crime you didnt commit vs 5 yrs probation and the odds look really stacked against you, a lot of people will just confess to avoid the worser option.
If it's India, even after you confess, it's just around an odd 15 to 20 years to get a proper and final trial. Innocents are blackmailed with court cases because everyone knows that they do t have that kind of life span to survive and win a court case even if one is 100% true or confident. That's the nature of the system here. It's partially due to lack of judges die to political muck. It's used to arm twist good judges by politicians since the political ground has more valid cases than a common citizen. These cases drag on for atleast 15 or more years. We can't find a biased system and pray for a fair trial.

It is real; it's caused by your sympathetic nervous system... (Fight or flight responsonse). It's to allow your brain to take in as much info as possible. It's not just about fighting for life, but if your brain is very excited, it will do this as well.
