The “Cursed Architecture” Twitter Feed Showcases The Best Of The Worst (40 Pics)
Whether we're talking about the subreddit Crappy Design or the Instagram account Ugly Irish Houses, the Internet seems obsessed with tasteless crimes against aesthetics and functionality. If you are too, the Twitter account "Cursed Architecture" is right up your alley.
Its hellish content includes strange angles, melting paint, vaguely threatening toilets, stairs that lead to nowhere, and more. Basically, the kind of stuff that architects and interior designers would imagine in a horror-comedy. But believe me, you don't have to be an industry pro to appreciate these pictures. They're so bad, us regular folk will get them as well. Enjoy!

Was this meant to be a suicide door, or was there supposed to be a porch?
In my country they'd call it the 'door for the mother-in-law".
Load More Replies...I assume these are doors to a parkour gym. You must be able to climb there in order to join :D
More young architects should know that Mrs Winchester is not an example.
there was a door like this in my elementary school lunch room. it was just standing there in midair.
Well, it would sure be an emergency if you used it.
Load More Replies...Sometimes these doors are for maintenance loading purposes. Usually wider tho.
Building's ventilation system machine room door. Very common here in Finland.
Maybe the structure isn't finished yet but if you want to fall in love, you know which door to use:)
Hubby used to live in snow country, in a 2 1/5 storey house. There would be a front door on every level so they could get out when the snow covered the ground floor doors. Looks weird in summer-time.
OH! I bet you can find this one at the Winchester Mystery House.
We had one of those at my elementary school, it was in the library which was on the 4th floor !
There's a place in Salt Lake City where they replaced a parking garage and the Handicap parking signs are still hanging on the wall of the building, 40 feet above the new garage.
I have memories of an Ed, Edd and Eddy episode, where Ed's parents removed the stairs from his basement room because he was grounded.
What you need is that car to have an open roof. Then you've got an awesome, if not slightly painful shortcut
Complete with ghost of the first victim to fail to navigate these steps!
Oh, God - the 70s. You can bet this combo also came in purple, brown and "harvest gold"

No... there are countries with little in the way of building codes and few people to enforce what codes do exist.
Load More Replies...A lot of these are just bad decor, and have nothing to do with architecture.
