I believe the only reason this would be true is IF the original coils have significantly more energy demand for a similar heat output, which seems unlikely. In which case they could likely be refitted with something of different composition. Also, insulation could be less effective but that is unlikely also, as it's probably asbestos, which is not dangerous when contained, and in spite of its dangers when handled, is generally more effective at its job than most things that have been invented to replace it.

Electrical stoves aren't like cars; they don't get less efficient as they get old, and there hasn't been any continual improvement over time in efficiency. I'd say the one efficiency improvement this could probably make is that those coils are shedding heat in all direction instead of strictly up at your food.

It’s kind of hard to see but from left to right the knobs are left front, center, right front, oven top and oven bottom.

Because for a long time "brown" furniture was completely unsaleable and would be junked more often than not. At least in its painted state it managed to survive where so many pieces were literally chopped up for firewood.

Styles change. 10 or so years ago, folks were painting everything. Now the pendulum has swung the other way and folks are stripping pieces. That includes me. I've painted wood pieces and I've stripped them. All to do with the piece and your personal taste.

I believe this may have been a dressing gown or night gown as opposed to something you would of actually worn out of the house. Today of course it could be used as a beautiful wedding dress.
