Autumn is nearly out in full force already, and many of you Pandas might be feeling a bit blue. Meanwhile, some of you might be under the weather, others might be worried about the rising cost of, well, everything, the war, and the ongoing pandemic. That’s on top of all the stress you might be facing at work, school, and home. However, life isn’t all completely dreary—there’s a lot of beauty and kindness out there, too. You just have to look closer.

So, in order to give you a well-deserved break from all the problems of the world and to bring a bunch of hope back into your lives, today we’re featuring the best of the best from the ‘Very Important Positivity’ Facebook page. It’s a celebration of everything good about the world, from altruistic people to happy pets, and everything in between.

Now, pick your favorite metaphor, and let’s go find that silver lining and/or remember to turn on the light, shall we? It’s almost impossible not to smile. Upvote your fave pics, and pop down by the comment section to tell us about the best thing that happened to you this week. Oh, and if you know someone who could use a good pick-me-up, be sure to pass this post along to them. There’s practically nothing better than spreading happiness.

Bored Panda reached out to the founder of 'Very Important Positivity,' Elle McGann, who kindly answered our questions about her project. "Initially, it [the page] was created to inspire by sharing people's achievements, allow people to share in the joy of the happy moments in life, and to be an alternative to the negative news and attitudes that can seem all-pervasive in modern life," she told us. Scroll down for our full interview about happiness and optimism, Pandas. And if you enjoyed the posts, make sure to follow the VIP socials.

Also, not every divorce is due to people hating each other or something. Sometimes a divorce can save a relationship, heck, good friends of mine divorced only 2 years ago and they are best friends, better of than during their marriage.

"I definitely share a broader range of things than I did initially - I realized a momentary break from the world to enjoy a meme, a tweet, or something random that sparks joy really helps nourish the soul," Elle, the founder of the page, told Bored Panda. She revealed to us that she started 'Very Important Positivity' years ago to "stay connected to my audience after leaving my previous page," which was called 'Wholesome Memes.'

Bored Panda was curious to get the VIP page founder's opinion about the reason for the content's success. "I think content that feels good resonates with the joy that exists within us. When we create and share our experiences, it makes them bigger than ourselves—there is no better feeling than making someone laugh, feel lighter, or remain hopeful," Elle said.

"People enjoy content that allows them to forget about negativity, current events, and politics, and enjoy things that make them feel calmer and happier."

According to the creator of 'Very Important Positivity,' the secret to happiness and optimism during tough times is to stop looking for something hidden.

The past few years, in particular, have been very difficult for a lot of people. Naturally, many folks might be feeling exhausted not just physically but also emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. And while some soul-healing memes aren’t the solution to all of life’s problems, they might just restore a bit of your faith in humanity and make you feel better about the state of the world for a few minutes. Heck, they might even inspire you to be kinder than usual today.

Here at Bored Panda, we genuinely think that laughter and (realistic) optimism can help people get through the darkest of times. It’s about finding a balance where you’re hoping for the best and taking actionable steps to make things better, while avoiding toxic positivity and total pessimism.

It’s fine to be realistic about what we can and cannot change. Healthy, even. But it’d be wrong to equate that to feelings of powerlessness. Small acts of kindness reach farther than we might expect them to. Kindness begets more kindness. And small collective actions towards a brighter future add up very quickly.

When we give others a helping hand, we’re also taking care of our happiness at the same time. The friendly team at ‘Action for Happiness’ explained to Bored Panda during an earlier interview that there are 10 keys to happier living: “Giving, relating, exercising, awareness, trying out, direction, resilience, emotions, acceptance, and meaning. We are likely to be happier if our lives have direction, meaning, and purpose and if we are part of something bigger than ourselves.”

If you’d like to invite more kindness into your life and don’t know where to start, you can always the people closest to you. Perhaps you might be able to help your neighbor with something. Or volunteer in your local area. Start off small, focus on the things you’re grateful for, and look for opportunities to lend someone a helping hand.

“When we do things for others it activates the reward center in the brain, so when we give a gift it feels the same as receiving a gift," the team at ‘Action for Happiness’ told us earlier, adding that kindness is the “social glue that keeps us together” as a society. Humans are a very social species after all.

Some ideas for being altruistic range from giving money to charity and donating to a food bank to volunteering for a cause or leaving a food package or a cheery note for an elderly neighbor. It all depends on the time and other resources you have available.

“All of these actions help others and boost your own happiness and if we are happier, research shows we are even more likely to help others,” the AfH team said.

It’s perfectly fine to ‘fake it till you make it’ if kindness doesn’t come naturally to you or if you constantly think about the rewards of helping others. It’s a skill that you can learn.

"Oscar had been receiving treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia since 2018, initially at Birmingham Children's Hospital, before the family made the decision to go to Singapore for the CAR-T therapy, which was not available to him on the NHS. The treatment is specifically developed for individual patients and involves reprogramming their immune system cells, which are then used to target their cancer." “Maybe at first, you start out doing things to help others only to get attention and praise, but you will find that doing things for others helps you feel good and when you see people’s responses. Yes!!! I have so much "exercise" clothing/sports bras/leggings which are STRANGULATORY AF around my gut/muffin top area. :( Like, hey, I might be "normal-sized" in the thighs, booty, legs, and arms, but I have a fat gut (I gain weight like average males, e.g. belly/gut vs. thighs/booty). ALL of my leggings fit just fine on the leg/thighs... but once we get to the waistband area, it's like it's trying to murder me XD

Yes. I used to be 260 pounds. It was impossible to find anything that fit. Got down to 170 and now stuff fits but it's about damned time this changes. If society wants bigger people get moving it has to be facilitated. And for the love of all that is good and holy if you're making fun of a big person at the gym, you are the problem. And don't assume they understand you if you start mocking them in another language. A$$hole sounds the same in every tongue.

Congrats on your weight loss (even if it was a while ago)! That is an amazing achievement! :D And I totally agree with your statements on mockery - I'm adopted (I'm white af but was adopted by a Mexican family) and I have defend my cousins/relatives SO MANY TIMES over my lifetime. So many people - even other Hispanic people - have straight-up YELLED mockeries/obscenities/insults at them. There was one point in my life where I was going to all my family members' doc appts with them, because the doctors took one look at the "obese Mexican" in the exam room and dismissed their health issues as "you're just fat; lose weight". And because some of my family members are ashamed of their size, they don't speak up or defend themselves, so I've gone to war with doctors for my family. XD That being said, many of my cousins have died young (20s) due to diabetes/diabetes-related complications, and it makes me sad :(

As a plus sized woman, I love hiking AND running in compression pants. I need them even more than a super skinny person because they're like a bra for my big butt and thick thighs. Otherwise it feels like my glutes are going to tear loose from my body with all the jouncing. People of every size enjoy moving their bodies, glad companies are getting the idea that they can also get my dollars.

How good of them. But still, don't take anything from the fridge or you'll be bankrupt when you leave the hotel.

I personally, prefer any animals! So, it can be a catto, a doggo, a ratto, a ferretto or anything else that you can add “tto” to. Just kidding, you can add anything to it…🤪

Therapist as well. I make an effort to tell clients how proud they should be of themselves. It is such a wonderful thing to watch someone's self esteem grow to feeling empowered and confident. It's like being a proud parent to see how far they have come and to have been part of that journey.

Probably more likely to get hurt while jumping off a cliff because of the life jacket. In the Navy we were taught that if you had to jump off the side of the ship you held the life jacket, or didn't inflate it if it was the inflatable kind, until after you got in the water. Your weight will carry you under the water and the life jacket will try and not go underwater. You can rip the straps out of it.

Yeah, I'm feeding a cat my neighbor left when she moved. I hate people sometimes, but kitty has started running up to be near me even when she's not hungry. Still can't touch her, but I'm hoping soon... definitely need to get her fixed and vaxxed ASAP.

I've had strangers on BP and on YT send me messages/comments to ask how I'm doing and if I'm OK because from a comment I posted i didn't seem go be doing well. Sometimes I even get these months or years after my original comment. There are awesome caring and compassionate people everywhere, and never underestimate how much your "weird random" message might mean to someone 🙂💛

There's a wonderful video of a dad having a full out conversation with his baby while they watch TV. The baby is at the babbling stage, but his dad reacts as though he really said something. It's very funny, and very endearing.

story time!!! this summer, i was at camp as a CIT, and they have a bunch of theme days. like costume day (i was way overdressed as a danganronpa character and melted. fortunately, the director gave me a camp tshirt and i put my costume in my bag, i was wearing a pair of little shorts underneath lol), and mismatch day, but on this fateful day, it was crazy hat day. both me and a counselor wore the same hat (a frog bucket hat) and we took a picture with us doing the spiderman meme

I always nod and say hello to people in my local area. I did that when I lived in the city and I still do it now that I live far out in the country. My dad noticed this after I moved to the country and he was like "who was that?" And I told him that I do not know him but he was clearly living nearby so I said hello to be nice, to let him know I'm not a bad person (if I were a potential burglar or something I would not want to say hello to anybody. So saying hello is also telling the ppl that don't know me that I am not gonna do something bad), and to just do something to get to know ppl in the new area I had just moved to. My dad was SHOCKED! He would never ever do that. Lol.

My dad started writing a book about me when I was younger. Stories about life before me, and after, and some of the big things that have happened since my arrival. It's not finished, nor will it ever be, but it still holds a special place in my heart. I love to see that more people are doing this <3

I got so happy when I saw Lin Manuel Miranda's pfp and was curious as to why they censored his name/tags because... it's Lin Manuel Miranda. then I realized- wait, this isn't actually him. Darn. Sweet story though, love partners who support your interests!!

When I was pregnant with our first child I was able to stay home for a few months during which time I was learning/practicing to play Resident Evil on the PS4 so I was able to play the 2 player Resident Evil game with him and we had such a great time. Before I learned I would just mash random buttons and scream because I couldn't handle the anxiety of being chased by zombies. We finally finished the game and we were so excited.
