No wonder more and more people are drawn to this old-time form of systematized information accompanied by great visualization. We’re talking maps. And not just dusty maps from your attic, but the most fascinating pieces that present things we know (and the ones we don’t!) in a refreshing light.

There Is A Lake In Finland, That Looks Like Finland
In case you're wondering, because I looked it up immediately when I had learned about it: It's manmade, was made in 1991, is 116 meters long, and a 1:10,000 scale of Finland! The construction engineer was Esko Sääskilahti. It was going to be the Centerpoint of a tourist village, but that part was never completed. The lake took a week to excavate. Hope you enjoyed learning some more! :-)

Terrorist Attacks In Europe That Killed At Least One Person 1970-2015
Not necessarily. In Germany there were some nazis with several attacks. Not for something just against people with a different background.
Load More Replies...Italy's rate is a little flawed. Most terrorist attacks happened in the 70's and 80's. They're called "gli anni di piombo" (the years of lead) because there have been a series of politically motivated attacks in those years: bombs and kidnapping in particular. The last one was in 1992 when two judges, Falcone and Borsellino, were assassinated by the mafia. I cannot recall another terrorist act after that.
It's because that part of this country belong to the UK and not to Irland and during decades there was on organisation called IRA who wanted this part be free from UK and to be with Irland.
Load More Replies...The funny thing is most of the world considered the IRA as an international terrorist group except for the US. Why? Too many loyalties here. Many in very high places. From mayors to presidents in both parties.
Only one I remember is Glasgow airport and the legend that is smeaton kicking a terrorist who was on fire in the balls so hard he hurt his foot - proper Glaswegian response
