People On This Group Are Sharing Examples Of ‘Urban Hell’ That Look Like A Dystopian Movie But Are Sadly Real (40 Pics)
Not every building is as beautiful as the Palace of Versailles. Or blends into its surroundings as well as the Macallan Distillery. On the contrary, there are many structures across the world looking like outcasts that will fall apart during the next storm. In some places, they aren't isolated examples, either — even an entire neighborhood can be an abomination. And you can find them on r/UrbanHell.
It's a photography subreddit of "all the hideous places human beings built or inhabit." The online community invites everyone who wants to explore the darker side of the cities, towns, and villages in our shared world and welcomes any photos which show either ugliness, or a problem in urban development. Rural and suburban nightmares are also allowed.
Below you will find a collection of pics that perfectly describe what this subreddit is all about.

The Annual Monsoon Ritual Of Mumbai's Ocean Giving Back What Has Been Dumped In It
If only nature could actually give back all the trash to us, maybe we will see the damage we are doing :(
Yup--but we know that most folks will look at this & think "Those People"--not thinking about the trash or pollution they themselves generate-- in north america we pay a lot of people to "Clean" it up for us--but have you noticed that everyday there is Fresh trash in the streets/parks ect -Someone else cleans it up so we just keep dumping it anywhere-Just look at all the masks /fast food garbage ect ect in parking lots ect ect-- Gotta keep the car clean but to lazy to put stuff in the garbage can-

Probably not. Most people are extremely good at ignoring problems and extremely bad at preventing them. Take climate change, for example.

Climate has always changed. We are over do for our 60k ice age. An Ice Age would cause way more death and destruction than global warming - making more land available for farming in Canada and Alaska. I'm sure if CNN was around, they'd blame us for the death of the dinosaurs and global cooling.
I think people would be surpriced, how much garage would return, just garage Island or "plasticisland" you can litterally walk on it, and it goes All the way down to the bottom, in a very huge area! So Sad! 😪
You....have that much trust in humanity? The same humanity that willingly let it get this bad?
Pretty good example of the damage we do to our waterways in the Nature Gives Back photo.
When I was there (Bombay) in 1984, the water was virtually raw sewage.
India is a real crap hole, rivers disgusting. Square miles of old electronics and filth. They don’t even try.
I wonder how much of the world would disappear if all of the trash came back onto the shores..could you imagine!?
really though! if they gave it all back, maybe some of us can step forward and clean it!
Optimism is what allows most people to think someone else will take care of the problem, so they can ignore it all.
Yup. At the same time, people say "if you're suffering change your mindset" "happiness is a choice" and focus on bread and circuses. 😡
She's giving it back, all right. Often more subtle, the message is the same.
Does anyone remember the tsunamis in Japan and elsewhere in the world several years ago? Do you remember seeing the videos of all the trash and objects that washed off of Japan into the ocean? Well that is where most of it originated, as well as from cruise ships. Some of it also came from the Chinese barges who bought trash from other countries to take it to their country. Most people don't throw trash in the ocean and everyone I know throws their trash in a trash can, not in a parking lot.
Evidently not so, if the annual monsoon season does it and no one changes.

AMEN SISTAH! That is so very true...just go SCUBA diving almost anywhere on the planet and the plastic is always there. I've been diving since 1968, and worked with an Underwater Cinematographer and have been diving all over. It has gotten SO MUCH WORSE. I fear for every living being. It has to stop!
Load More Replies...Aww Louise, i can only imagine! It truly is heart breaking and honestly, kinda hard for me to understand why would someone throw trash in the ocean instead of a trashcan or smt..... If you some day need some hope, come to Brazil! I have donated to ocean charity (and went to credible sources to figure out how to find credible charities)
We humans don't deserve to live on this earth. It's crumbling around us and still "we" are destroying the oceans, wildlife and ignoring global warming. There's this fixation with 2050, all will be okay. Well - 2050 WILL BE TOO LATE.
This is heartbreaking. I feel so sorry for animals. Look at it this way; how would we like it if this was floating in our air.
But it is think about how much Carbon dioxide we put into the air and smog that causes health risks that shorten the life expectation so let's start small by cleaning Beaches and polluted inland areas and plant trees and clean waters use less electricity and water because we can't just have a few groups and except it to solve it we need almost everyone to come together and help.

It's all effect - lens, zoom and angle. If you were to stand in that place it would look nothing like that. It might seem a little bleak, but this image was deliberately taken in a way so as to -EMPHASISE- a depiction of poverty. It's a bit like taking a zoom shot of an open wound with necrotic infection and presenting that as representative of healthcare. It's very dishonest. And when you take into account that this is obviously somewhere in China and that things look like that in China not because there's no money but because of a cultural attitude that says public space is "not my responsibility", is "someone else's responsibility", then the lie is even more insidious. You see nice cars, restaurants, so could conclude everyone's fine, but you see dirty walls and squirm, but that's just your prejudice. And though large numbers of people in relatively small spaces is normal for any large city, that this image enhances the effect, along with the grime, leads your mind to false conclusions, which is again borne of your prejudice. And while prejudice is not a bad thing in and of itself (despite the noise of hordes of excitable, simple-minded dumbards), at least know it for what it is.
Load More Replies...In other words, since there are beautiful areas in Hong Kong, we should pretend that there is no poverty. Blaming the photographer for revealing the poverty is callous and dishonest.
Exactly. it has nothing to do with millions of people in a small space - which is what is happening to the earth - it is just tricky photography. Got it
Callous and dishonest is taking something that -looks- like poverty, may or may not be poverty, but exaggerating it with effect. I never made mention nor denied poverty. I spoke about preconceptions. You're merely doubling down on yours. Show me something that supports your claim.
Ummm there 30 thousand units withing a 16th of a mile..don’t take a genius to see this is over populated…
Having said that - Yick Fat Building is not a posterboy for Hong Kong poverty. As stated elsewhere, the apartements inside are usually a lot more modern than you might expect from the outside. (went inside see two apartments when moving to HK) - The building I ended up in the end looked like this from the outside - yet the flat itself had polished limestone floors a (albeit tiny) modern kitchen with everything I needed ... did I mention the comically huge flat screen tv.
Exactly. This is actually Hong Kong, which is not a poor city. Hong Kong has incredibly bright buildings but weather and photography tricks will make a bustling city look bleak. I lived in an apartment that was very similar to this, and it was nothing like what the other commenters suggest.
Wow! Chancellor fuggnuggins is so upset, he might inform Chairman Pooh on us all! I don't buy for a minute that it is the cultural norm for people to say, "My place looks like crap, but it's the part that faces the rest of the world, so it's someone else's responsibility." But if I did, and all these apartments were spotless, artistic treasures INSIDE, this would still be as bleak and ugly as sin.
I thought the point of the pictures in this article is more about the soulless urban architecture and planning rather than the people that live in them. Who is judging the people who live in them? There are good people behind closed doors in every echelon of society. Unfortunately there are builders and developers who will build ever upwards, often using substandard materials, to extract every last dime possible for profit - they are the people that need to be called out, and the governments who allow it to happen. With growing urban populations, sometimes people have to live wherever they can find a place they can afford - it is not a matter of their character or worth as individuals. It’s just the urban environment, not the people who live there.
Exactly, because developers want to squeeze everything in, there are developers who cheat the cost 💲 of construction 🏗 hidden death traps, like the collapse of the the condos in Miami Florida 😞
I was gonna say I hope this king is getting demolished..bc next earthquake that things looks ready..the middle already has some droop to it.
J. Normal: Well, that’s true everywhere...we have collectively over-reproduced
Are you flipping kidding? You really don't think this exists? I have seen similar places like this...with my own eyes, not thru rose-colored glasses
No. Asia, but not HK. I recall places much more bleak looking than this in Bangkok, and half those buildings had high quality driving ranges on the roof. Not sure what your point is. Do I need to have been to HK to be able to speak about projecting? I'll paraphrase. You have an image of dirty walls. An image of large buildings with many windows. Safe to assume many occupants. Nothing to indicate the conditions inside, nor the quality of life in the area. Does having been to HK grant you some extrasensory ability? Tell me, then: name of the street; number of people occupying the building; average individual personal living space; average income; size of immediate economy; quality of life rating; happiness rating. Sad? What makes you assume that? That it's HK? HK has sad people? Does it have content people? Happy people? Where do they live? In rainbows? In Bangkok I stayed right next to one of the rivers near Khao San Road for several months. Buried deep down among the Soi, the small streets and alleys. Very poor area. Very, very poor. People are collecting bottles to sell to the drink companies to help get by. Every other home doubles as a cheap restaurant. Their ground floor is their livelihood. Every year during the monsoon the entire place floods. Every year. Water up to my waist. Half way up their torso. The river is very polluted. People get sick swimming in there, so people generally don't. But they have to live in it for several months out of every year. Families. Children. Elderly people. Very poor area. Happiest, most content, most welcoming, thoughtful, caring people I've ever encountered in my life. Most people smile everytime you see them. Very polite. Very considerate. Always acknowledging and greeting you. Always friendly. Always positive. Always good-natured. It's sad because it's grey, you reckon? I reckon that's a sad way to assess the world.
I have to say that I had no idea that I had so many prejudices until I read your post. Thank you. Seriously I'm not being sarcastic thank you for opening up my eyes and freeing my mind. Every little bit counts!
That was very well said ‼️I grew up in a Chicago Housing Project on the South side of Chicago & outsiders would think & say the same things about us‼️Looking back on what others conceive as extreme poverty we were actually one big happy family & learned to get along with all races. I wouldn’t change that experience for anything‼️
I feel sad for those people. Why does their gov allows this, @fuggnuggins? I agree, don't hate the oppressed hate the oppressor. This is why I hate buying from china despite it being hard to avoid doing so....
All I see is overpopulation, by a virus called humanity, demonstrating yet again that we are an immoral species only content on slow self destruction while accelerating the destruction of everything else on this big blue marble. Earth first- we'll destroy the other planets later. Poetically tragic.
While it certainly enhances the effect..and having no sky behind it just more floors seemingly going upwards for eternity is very effect and even adds to the claustrophobic aspect associated with those rooms. I lost you on my prejudices and stuff..but I don’t believe is it dishonest..clearly that building is condemned and dilapidated..and it does clearly shows an area of poverty but it also Carrie’s historical significance. I don’t believe by creating a dynamic composition that heightens the way you experience this landmark is in anyway dishonest..now if you photoshopped it or added filters or what not that would be dishonest. Gordon has a point..but I hear yours as well. When it comes to taking pictures of poverty, suffering, refugees or victims of a traumatic event..it is somewhat of the photographers responsibility and just for aesthetic, optical and ethical practice to not exaggerate or manipulate those type of photographs.
Well pointed out. I can take photos in Brisbane that would present the city as a filthy shithole full of illiterate bogans and crumbling infrastructure and endemic poverty but change rhe lighting and angle and Inala becomes a suburb of hard working Aussie born and immigrant families working to make their lives and Australia better.
And that’s offensive to call their normal life sad. You don’t know they aren’t happy. Try and pity a New Yorker for living somewhat similarly while streets are too crowded to drive down. They’ll tell you to take your sympathy and stick it up yours.
Nah it isn't. It is a really nice part of HK, backing onto the mountains and close to the harbour. That's prime real estate in HK. Lots of very happy families live in those apartments.
Lol my thoughts exactly, I live just down from here and would be pretty darn happy with that location, I hike here every morning because the views are so beautiful! The buildings all look like s**t because they don't pressure wash them, not because they're actually s**t. When people think this is a crappy area boyyyyy are they wrong. Like you said this is prime real estate baby
At least they have shelter which is more than can be said about our homeless population. Sad indeed.
What's sadder is that many people live--and die--in worse conditions.

Best become a Buddhist and not be sad. The Four Noble Truths is the basis of Buddhism. The First Truth is that life consists of suffering, pain, and misery. ... The Third Truth is that this selfish craving can be overcome. The Fourth Truth is that the way to overcome this misery is through the Eightfold Path.
Actually these are pretty reasonable apartments for HK, and in a pretty nice area (Quarry Bay). I live a block from here and the inside is a whole lot better than the outside. They don't pressure wash the buildings here so even the decent ones look like the roughest slums, but I assure you they are not. Like someone said it's the perspective, when you're there it's hardly noticeable because most buildings are this colour and stained which makes them look significantly crappier. Cost for monthly rent here in a 150sqft studio apartment is likely around 1000USD - 2500USD (basing this on what I pay for rent for a similar looking building).
For the same money we have a 4000 sq ft home on 15 acres. No, the city life is not for us. We're 10 minutes from a nice small town with all the amenities.

Kowloon walled city, but there is this Kowloon encompasses the northern part of Hong Kong, on the mainland across Victoria Harbour. Once a separate city, it was acquired by Britain in 1860 and returned to China with the rest of the colony in 1997. It’s now a shopping, arts and entertainment district. Stores line Nathan Road, while traditional markets offer goods from flowers and goldfish to clothes and jade
True. They are probably happy and proud that they live in one of the richest cities before it became communist. Now, the freedom loving Hong Kong like Croatia watch their free speech, rights, and city state/country disappear. Funny, how Dems blame colonial capitalism with new Holidays and zip their lips with Marxist teachings in our school and socialists taking over just like Amerika.
Funny how this is exactly the way repubs would like to see Democratic Americans live.
Since there are people popping up all over places in the nature, disturbing nature and leaving their trash everywhere, I think we better store them in cities. I live in a very small country with a high number of People per square Kilometer and since COVID 19 it’s no fun anymore.
It's not sad it's just dense. All these pople have to live somewhere! And maybe they would rather spend money making the inside of their home looks nice rather than the outside of the building that they don't even own. In a lot of countries we put a lot of worth on how our homes look on the outside (like a green lawn or landscaping) but when you live in a building it's not as important. I don't think in Hong Kong there are a lot of single family homes so maybe for them it's not a standard they feel pressure to live up to.
I thought china was concerned about Face and stuff. Or was that just japan

That's affordable housing. If only we could send our homeless there instead of paying $61,000 per tent per year in San Francisco. I bet California could rent that hole building, add free air fair, free food, etc.
California residents: Please don't accept your fate as inevitable. You are led by the most corrupt, kleptocratic leaders this side of North Korea. You cannot simultaneously import 10 million people in a decade and reserve 97% of your land from housing construction and expect that you won't have a housing shortage. You MAY have to cut your own God-damned lawn.
The cost of living in this building is going to be on par with SF. That housing is not, by American standards, "affordable". It's in Quarry Bay which is a developed, financial hub and you're looking at minimum 1000USD a month for a small studio with a mini fridge.

Thank you! Very interesting context. While the full picture does give perspective, it still shows the contrast between different worlds . . . in this case just across the street. Still, your picture provides more nuance.
singapore would have this size complex and much larger, but away from the city so you'd have to commute to and from it by train.
That actually makes the left side look even worse than the Original Posters pic
Also, every place has ugly buildings/areas, can't really judge it based on one tiny photo cut
While I agree that this is seemingly awful AND there are multiple streets in HK that look like this, there’s also a whole lot of beauty there too. (Although they have waaay too many people in that tiny area).
Not just for the rich. There are beaches and hiking trails that is accessible to everyone.
There are people living in worse places than this, further out on the subway line from Kowloon.....some people sleep (“live”?) in the equivalent of a luggage locker! The people in THIS building can at least walk upright in their homes!
Living in places the size of luggage lockers? Are you serious? I have never been able to go out of the US, so this is why I am asking.
Load More Replies...Oh for sure! There are some places where you are basically in a coffin like bed. The "rooms" are more like a drawer that pulls out with a bed in it. It is insane. The "units" will have shared living spaces for bathrooms/kitchens/etc, but your space is basically a bed with another bed above and below it. Do some Google searching and you will see what I'm describing.
Wow..... Im From Brazil and have never heard in detail about it..... It does make one think tho....i wonder how it gets like that you know? Here we have a lot of homeless ppl ( not everywhere ) and they truly sleep out on the streets, under bridges and completely exposed. Most end up in drugs, or get there because of drugs. In the end, how better is it to sleep in a locker? How do they get there? ..... So sad
Hong Kong is actually a lovely place to live. It's right on the bay, lovely sea breeze in fall and spring, blue skies and great transportation. Lots of parks and hiking trails in the forest literally minutes from Central/downtown. Nothing about this is sad except what the photographer CHOSE to show you, how they edited the photo, and your narrow impression based on a single photo.
Ok? Even nice places have crappy areas. We have one entry here from Poland...no one is arguing that the entire of Poland is horrible, just the area shown. Same here.

I agree. Living in Lamma south of hk island and it's a lovely place.
I am not an engineer so I hope someone with Expertise will read it and maybe provide an answer. I always asked myself how is it possible for this building not to collapse? I mean they look so bridle and run down. Of course I hope they won't collapse. As I visit Russia regular I see similar buildings and every time I ask myself this question.
About half of the global population already lives in cities, and by 2050, two-thirds of the world's people are expected to live in urban areas. But as you can see from some of the photos in r/UrbanHell, in cities, two of the most pressing problems facing the world today also come together: poverty and environmental degradation.
Bad urban development isn't just ugly aesthetics. It's also poor air and water quality, insufficient water availability, waste-disposal problems, and high energy consumption, all of which are exacerbated by the increasing population density and demands of urban environments. Strong city planning is essential in managing these and other difficulties as the world's urban areas grow.

I don’t know about coming back with a vengeance. For starters, more work places are allowing permanent telecommuting. That means fewer cars on the road. While New Delhi has been terribly polluted for a long time, it may actually be a little less than before COVID.
Right. I remember tons of photos in the news (and school, when we would discuss environmental issues), back in the 80s, of Los Angeles looking like the photo on the right. Now it looks more like the left. Turns out that modern life isn't an all or nothing proposition, and some regulations are, on balance, a positive thing.

Hell No. We will destroy the Earth or just wait for another Asteroid, or when our Sun burns out in 4 billion years... just think Biden wants to spend trillions of dollars and yet we will all be dead even on Mars in 4 billion years. Oh and our galaxy collides with Andromeda too - meaning no place is safe. We're all gonna die even Earth.

There were several places where this is the case. You can't act like we're not destroying our planet by calling it a hoax when you see s**t like this, but ppl still do. It's not the citizens of the world, but the corporations. There's nothing we can do to fix this as long as corporations & factories keep doing this s**t. The building is all, and all is the building. No basement, no roof, just an infinity of floors, an infinity of people, a recursive glitch in the Matrix run wild worse than The Architect's worst nightmares of Agent Smith run wild. Forget the elephant standing on an unending stack of turtles; it's tenament floors all the way down. Maybe it's like a rent-controlled Moibus Strip, everlastingly wrapping back upon itself so that you can never leave, like an overcrowded Hotel California to the End of the Universe. :D
These are apartments for well to do people….the ones pictured above are for lower income in family. In China, many families I taught often had multiple suites to make bigger homes and to keep the older generation in the home to care for their children as they work. Some owned entire floors. It took one child 3-4 minutes to show me her saltwater fish tank that spanned the length of one hallway…saw at least 2 sharks.
Need a Zanax too! This is like a human version of a battery hens life but chickens dont get any windows. Counting my blessings that i don't live here. I would get lost.
You should be more concerned with the fact that you're taking Xanax at all. Benzodiazepines are a vile substance. Smoke a bowl of some cleanly grown green bud, and avoid big pharma altogether.
Is Big Pharma really that bad? I'm a drugphobe sorry @Race Blakhart
Yeah, I live in California, and I always think of "what happens when there's an earthquake?" That pic scares the bleep out of me.
The point of the comment is that Californians look at something like this and immediately think “earthquake” (I’m a Californian and that was also my first thought), not that we don’t have other problems. I’m not afraid of earthquakes—they’re simply a part of life here.
That is exactly what I thought of, too. & what about when things start to disintegrate?!
It makes me feel grateful. Grateful that my parents emigrated to NZ at the end of the 1950s. Not from Hong Kong, but still grateful they chose so well.

Thank you for sharing this. It reminds me to think bigger
Sure the skyscrapers aren't as bad as the close up photo, but what about the rest of the buildings, the short ones? How crowded is that?
Ok but when you live in a city you do see it close up, not far away. And even if those buildings in the photo are on different blocks, they probably are adjacent to each other rather than half of them being on the other side of the city. You can tell because the building sections look about the same size, whereas any far away world look smaller. The buildings adjacent to each other in the distance photo look pretty close together if you compare their distance apart with the size of the buildings. Either they are pretty close, or dude each building is the size of a city block. It's just not good to crowd people together like that! Traffic (even if it's bikes and pedestrians), the stress of being in crowds too often, having to deal with interacting with way more people than we naturally would in older style cities, the noise, the pollution... It's not good. I live in a major metropolitan area in Southern California, and it makes people act less social. And the smog is at a cancerous leve
Dude, that perspective makes it look like Shinji has to protect it from Angels!
Thank you for the picture of Hong Kong as it really is... beautiful city, lovely people.
All about perspective. I knew there were open spaces in HK. Great photography nonetheless
You all realize those buildings are actually not connected right? It's perspective. The photographer chose to NOT show you the sky or the ground purposely. In reality those buildings aren't even on the same block. Please travel more and see for yourself.
"Please travel more" seems a little bit accusing and narrow-minded to me. Billions of people around the world don't have the opportunity to travel. It's nice, that you educate us, but please think about the people who will only know a lot of places from pictures on the internet.

i agree but that doesn't give carte blanche to pass judgement without doing a simple google search.
I like you and I like the way you think. We truth tellers tend to rack up negative points. I'm at -53. But hang in there. You're not alone.
It's obvious (or it should be) that all of them are different buildings, thats not the point. Personally the image makes me anxious because it shows that there are a looot of people there.
Sorry man but you're wrong on this one. Those buildings are all part of the same housing complex and they very much are on the same block, albeit a large city block. This is tremendously common in HK. Look up Laguna City. I thiiiink the picture you're referencing is South Horizons, similar situation. The buildings are not as close as this picture makes them look, but they're all on the same block in the same complex.
I love that the architect made a design that was so good that they decided to use the same design for all of the blocks, and that the urban planners were considerate enough to place a gap between them.
And these flat are probably all facing the water with a great view of the Harbour
This reminds me of Korben Dallas' apartment building in the Fifth Element.

Ammonium nitrate is a fertilizer for enrichment of nitrogen-poor soils. It is a strong oxydizer too. Often used for car bombs in combination with diesel fuel.
The right storage is therefore critical. It should be kept away from anything that is waiting to be oxydized, even dust. It was lying there already for more than two years without continuous inspections. The municipality sould have taken it away to be brought far away from populated areas. It was unloaded from a freighter to be delivered but that company was bankrupt. Well, it is the Middle East, so nobody felt responsible for it. I have lived and worked there, I know how it works...
We remember watching this on television ... Some leak and heat malfunctioning

And Hezbollah. But in many ways the gov't and Hezbollah are one and the same.
Not Hezbollah, criminal incompetence on the part of the Lebanese authorities, and the shipping company responsible for the presence of the ammonium nitrate in the warehouse. You might want to reconnect with the actual facts of the incident.
Ah. So you do not believe the reports that the ammonium nitrate was being stored there by Hezbollah? Or that Hezbollah has threatened the judge investigating the blast? Or that Hezbollah is intertwined with the Lebanese government? I refer you to this article from the German Die Welt: https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article213884822/Libanon-Die-explosive-Spur-fuehrt-zur-Hisbollah.html (can right click and translate). Also the book: Beirut 2020: Diary of the Collapse by Charif Majdalani. Hezbollah had a long history of shipping and caching ammonium nitrate for explosive purposes, and the shipment that exploded was traced to a bank used by Hezbollah. If you think it was just there for fertilizer, that's your business, I and others don't share that view.
Idk but they write English perfectly in Beirut...I couldn't write or read their language...sad
It could look like it, but it is actually a lot of cranes, ready to empty ships!

No the after math or joe Biden’s “presidency
The corrupted government did this and I'm sure that all the donations from around the world to help the poor people who lost their houses, made a few people very rich but did nothing to help those who need that money to rebuild their houses.
and years later, no cleanup effort, and its not radioactive. lets call jeff bezos, maybe he will help. (I mean when he went into space, didnt he have renewed passion for the planet??) hey billionaires, this is what you do, right, with your sweat labor workplace warehouse money? or, not...
So sorry. The people of Lebanon deserve better. It's such a beautiful place and the people are so warm/welcoming, but the government is a disgrace.

Not really. Big billionaires. Also does this country even have elections for common people to vote in? And good options to vote for?
I certainly had nothing to do with the criminals currently destroying our country.
That sounds like you didn't vote. To those that DON'T VOTE... YES, you ARE part of the problem AND you have NO RIGHT to complain. You have to vote to have the right to wine.
i lived many years in Oregon, where i helped to edit some videos on logging on public lands. They cut down old growth trees and sold them whole to be taken to japan to be ground up for diapers. not to mention the sickness that is the US military in the 1940s developing the atom bombs, and with very little testing or understanding they incinerated 2 entire cities in Japan when japan, an island country, had nearly been cleaned out of anything in the factories and munitions already, all those thousands of citizens old men women and babies were turned to dust or burnt to suffer terrible effects, and we have not really been held accountable nor apologized, and its an act of violence that has not been equaled, yet we sit here all proud to be american. then lets go bigger; how about the number of seriously flawed nuke plants all over the world, yet nobody seems too concerned about reducing their carbon footprint. the greedy bastard society is standing on gaias neck.
Hitler killed more people then those 2 bombs combined. We didn't apologize because it was during a war. I don't condone use of nuclear weapons at all and don't agree with our severe military response. Japan did attack us first killing many young soldiers never declaring war until hours later. We asked them for a peaceful resolution and even gave the revised terms of only stop and surrender your military only. We do not want your country nor do we want to even enter. They declined, insisting on continued attacks on our military and our country. Their leader so recognized his error he committed suicide as an apology to his people. We did go to Japan to sign the surrender and end of war docs and immediately helped with injured and sick. We also helped rebuild their cities. Their citizens were lied to by their own government about American soldiers. They were terrified because they were bombarded with pamphlets that had pics of our GI's with dog heads eating babies and worse.

Japan had surrendered before the 2 bombs. Those bombs where just dropped for testing.
Pearl Harbor. Our fault? Bataan Death March, march in the Philippines of some 66 miles (106 km) that 76,000 prisoners of war (66,000 Filipinos, 10,000 Americans) were forced by the Japanese military to endure in April 1942, during the early stages of World War II.
Some of the biggest problems caused by urbanization are:
- Intensive urban growth can lead to greater poverty, with local governments unable to provide services for all people;
- Concentrated energy use. It leads to greater air pollution with a significant impact on human health;
- Automobile exhaust produces elevated lead levels in urban air;
- Large volumes of uncollected waste create multiple health hazards;
- Urban development can magnify the risk of environmental hazards such as flash flooding;
- Pollution and physical barriers to root growth promote loss of urban tree cover;
- Animal populations are inhibited by toxic substances, vehicles, and the loss of habitat and food sources.

I'd say it's full of live. And people. It isn't aesthetically pleasing, but I suspect many people have and do live in worse conditions.
Exactly. Some comments here are very extreme. There are many people who can't even have a sturdy wall and roof to protect them from the elements in many parts of the world. A lot of people would love a house like these.
I agree. The uniform of the houses may be comforting to some people. Regulating for someone who is sensitive.
@Nikki Menning It looks awfully tidy but yes, getting lost would be awful. I hope they have signs.
And horrendously hot. Imagine existing (vs “living”) in that - a place where it’s frequently 100+ degrees (F, ~40C) at 3 & 4am. The heat during the day - in more “coastal”/greener areas - bumps up to 110-120F (~45-50C) as soon as the sun rises, and stays there until it goes down (currently ~6am and 7pm). Cities in the UAE are also built predominantly on the coast, which gives them the added “bonus” of having increased humidity - caused by the sea water literally evaporating into the atmosphere because of the heat. Now: head on “home” and lock yourself in one of these boxes - which being all jammed together in really really tight rows will also act as a windbreak for their neighbours. Almost zero chance of any breeze to help move the smell of your neighbour’s rubbish, cooking, cleaning (or lack of). Hell, that close together, you can probably smell their armpits. Why on God’s green earth do we do this to ourselves? This isn’t a habitat for snakes, let alone humans.
If you haven't seen the other pictures, don't. Based on your comment, some of the other pictures are going to break your heart.
What about diagonal winds? Gaps. Also, the last part cracks me up: armpits, habitats, snakes.
It's very repetitive, but google images show palm trees and other plants around some houses. It just needs time for some life to grow into it, and good street signs.
This picture shows that there is no plant life - palm trees? - growing anywhere near this mess. There is also no place to park - but that's ok - nobody has a car anyway.
there's also a garage on every home, so I dunno what pic they're looking at. 🤷

You do know it's 120 degrees - you'd be lifeless too if you were not in your million dollar AC'd house or Lambo. I do love the stupid British ROUNDABOUT instead of a stop light wasting more housing.
"The stupid British roundabout" can actually be useful. With people coming from your left, right and front, you'd probably waste a bunch of time just trying to turn to the left for example, sitting there and waiting. With a roundabout everyone goes in the same way (around) and you just have to take the right exit
Most Americans are unable to use roundabouts correctly. I guess this Gregg is one of them.
Washington D.C. has traffic circles (some with four lanes) and it doesn't take long to get used to them. If Americans have trouble with roundabouts in Britain it might be because the traffic is on the other side of the road.
From what I know, Americans have troubles with the roundabouts in the US, too. An article I read ascribed this to many Americans having poor driving skills + their "Me first, I yield to nobody" culture + sometimes poorly designed roundabouts where large vehicles can't make a proper turn. No doubt DC drivers are more educated and roundabout-savvy than the average American.
No joke there. I have friends and family who think I'm some kind of genius becauseI figured out how to use a roundabouts. (1st exit = right turn. 2nd = go straight. 3rd = left turn). I love driving in Europe. Navagating all the way through Paris, at night, in a downpour, with a standard transmission (also oddly confusing to Americans) made me feel like a ninja.
If your ability to navigate a roundabout prompts your friends and family to think you're a genius, your friends and family are stupid. Speaking of stupid - Americans were never "oddly confused" about manual transmissions, as they were the only kind available in cars & trucks until the 1930s .. maybe you should actually know what you're talking about before spewing your hatred of Americans and sticking your hoof into your mouth.
On the other hand, it looks very clean and well built and very organized. Not very imaginative, but I can think of a lot worse.
At least in SimCity the building type would vary a little bit (unless we're talking the original SimCity, where each building with the same property value has the same icon, but that could never happen in such a big zone).

It's developments like these that would really benefit from Urban Planners to create nice neighbourhoods that work with their surroundings, rather than these that are just racked and stacked to cram as many in and to hell with how it feels to actually live there
Real problem is stupidity of 'planning dept.' If you replace every fourth row with one containing appropriate family friendly stuff (grocery story, cheap restaurant, park/bicycle path, bowling alley, pool, drug store), you turn a automobile focused hell hole into a neighborhood.
Who pays for it? I doubt that the inhabitants have a lot of money to spare.
Load More Replies...I don’t know where this is, but the name sounds like it may be in a desert, so trees are NOT a “given” for every neighborhood.

Palms, olive trees, sedges, lakes & greenery could be watered by a treatment plant to clean all that grey water waste coming from thousands of washing machines.& sinks. Greenery would cool the area down a lot & be so much healthier for the UAE citizens living here. Do they call that circular economy - using what is there for a better purpose?
ok so ppl are commenting about this but lemme explain as I live right next to this complex. this is in dubai, where most of the plants that someone can actually grow there have to be watered at least twice a day to probably flourish. and water can be really expensive as it is sparse in this country. in fact, in the summer, it gets up to 50 degrees and therefore kills all plants that don't get watered 3 or 4 times a day and are in the shade, except the desert bushes that a lot of people don't like the look of them, as they look rly untidy and are covered in thorns (like cacti). Nad al Sheeba is one of the lower class compounds so its rly expensive and hard to grow the trees throughout the country. I hope this clears everything up :))
Cactus are not native to the Middle East ......... Olive trees, Cypress trees, many types of Palm tree, Bouganvellia etc - oh, and they do grow in desert conditions.
in dubai you cant rly grow these plants there.... the only pants that can grow without support from humans are shrubbery and untidy desert bushes, as in the summer the weather can reach up to 50 degrees celsius and therefore killing tons of plants. (I live there so I know this stuff)
The town of Lightning Ridge in Australia (Opal Country) gets up to 50 degrees & my friend has hundreds of wild Jade bushes growing without water. I think their other name is money trees. Oh yea & heaps of prickly pear cactus grow there & it flattens car tires if a thorn from them get under the tire. Natural Australian trees like Gum trees, Wilga & Gumby gumby trees grow without water... im told birds drop out of the sky when it is middle of summer. Sometimes good Samaritans put them in the shade & save their lives.

I'm with lunar eclipse on this. In thirty-one years, from natural desert to human-imposed concrete "desert"... Yech.
You do know that quite close to this unique city there is plenty of desert are which is being protected by the UAE government?
You clearly do NOT understand how long it takes for topsoil in desert habitats take to form. These are delicate ecosystems that are highly vulnerable because people don' t see or comprehend the beauty of it. A real shame. Never mind the water usage. Ugh.
Yes there is air and space and animals in the desert. Desert is not dead, concrete is
The impact of overpopulation and the human tendency toward thoughtless and unwarranted hyperconsumption is what's depressing. And it's happening everywhere.
Yes, deserts can be beautiful too. And I may not support forced sterilization or a one-child birth policy, but I do support bribing people to have fewer children/ get sterilized. Also, we can't vote for such policies in other countries - and certain counties contribute way more to the overpopulation issue than others. Finally, as horrifying and soulless as those super tall apartment buildings are, we should be building UP as much as we can.
Of course. And specially if it is "developing" in a cars & skyscrapers extravaganza that need millions of liters of water which of course, in the desert, isn't naturally available. It's a metastasis.
It won`t look like this for much more. They have some 30 years of oil left, if the consumption keep getting larger by the each year. 50 years worth of oil, IF THEY KEEP 3/4 for themselves. Electric cars are somewmt, almost a reality in mass.usage and will get more and more, but crude oil is still dominant and there is NO REPLACEMENTS for making more than 1/2 of products at Earth, till today. Without it, there is NO PLASTICS, Many skin-care products, make-up, etc.. All motor oils need it at least in 10% to be possible to make, etc, etc. I can list all day long how many products are DEPENDED OF OIL that comes from theirs oil fields. USA has also a massive oil reserves, but they are keeping it, not pumping it out, until the last drop that USA can find from elsewhere!
I agree with you totally, well here's a thought...what about the free energy technology that "they" are keeping from us, they must be trying to put a meter on these but they cannot, mark my words they exist. And what about Mike Reynold's Earthship building technology, 40 years in New Mexico each home is off power grid self contained. If they would have created requirements of self sufficiency, power draw down plans, for homes in US, but instead we wait till the 2 minute warning to do these things. Sadly, whether it be pandemic or plandemic, we NEED to reduce the population, theres no way around it. But those not going really need to buckle up. The weathers gonna increase in severity, the water is a big issue, now the homeless population is out of control (living in the vans, right next to an empty silicon chip plant building) Yes I saw in Palm Springs from 63 to 73 getting more humid due to the A/C use and golf courses. Everyones too busy driving to their 2 jobs to think of much else!
Cages in Hell. And to think that the Earth is paradise without those humans who torture, kill and destroy it and build hell out of it
Oh,cmon keep popping out the babies...they're paying for all of this....literally and figuratively...besides- look what happens in just 30 years though....that is a good minute
we can't just look at wonderful pictures and pretend everything in the world is like that.

An Co, there is no water to sustain life. i am from a desert place, and the water crisis there is growing. i KNOW about these things. Some places should never have been developed. i feel this way about Las Vegas Nevada, and Phoenix Arizona, in the USA for example.
Jessica Bertram, I totally agree.. Add Los Angeles to your list as well. The worst part about Los Angeles is how giant it is and the fact that 95% of the idiots living there insist on having a green lawn like the people in the Midwest (where it actually rains year round).
My little ranch is in central New Mexico...but in the foothills of the mountains and on the GREEN side. It is considered a pine barren. We have dirt, not sand. Drive a few miles in any direction and it is totally different! We have haboobs but usually say away from our altitude. There was one we saw yesterday a few miles to the North. The sun disappeared! This post looks like BLADE RUNNER for real!
I’m the UAE they have a lot of desalination plants. No water crisis there :)
I was there in 1991 and can confirm image on left, just would add a couple more though between building in foreground and extreme background. In 1968 it was all desert. In '91 I saw the original ruler's quarters next to the oldest mosque in dubai: a mud dome with threadbare rugs and big fat koran, and the quarters were literally a 2 story mud and hay slap together with wood poles internally (rather than rebar) and some neurotic child had scrawled porn all over it.
Load More Replies...100% spot on. That “I’ll just bypass the roundabout lane” is a dead giveaway. Have never seen that design anywhere but the UAE - but then again, I’ve not driven in every country that has roundabouts, lol. Also a lot easier to navigate than the 2016 spaghetti junction it was replaced by, wow.
You can see the difference between when it was first founded up until this point in time. Worlds tallest building, largest mall, worlds only 7 star hotel, the most expensive cocktail, and many more. If you compare the pictures you can’t even see these things but they are there in a different section of Dubai. I know that because I live there. Hope that clears everything up.

All we can do is act now to have less children, use less resources, not build in desert places with no water, not grow grass lawns in places with no water, etc.
That's right. We, our children, our parents, our siblings and our friends are the problem. There are too many of us. It doesn't make it any better because it is all of us, and it doesn't make it any less real. The day is coming when we'll pay for our luxurious lifestyles.
Yes. And let’s hope everyone doesn’t feel the need to procreate. My siblings and parents are really great at polluting the earth. Homes are full of junk that will add to our land fills and buying up products that use toxic chemicals which eventually seep into our water systems. There are plenty of children and animals that need to be adopted. Millennials, thankfully, are less interested in getting married and having babies.

Designing cities for cars, is the worst way to design cities. Cities are for people, not machines.
Dubai needs door-to-door transport. The daytime temperature means it’s residents want to spend as little time as humanly possible outdoors. Even where options exist to walk (and they do - even SZ Rd has footpaths), people there will drive to get to the building across the road if it means they will spend less time without aircon. Getting fresh air there is a real challenge.

NOBODY accused him of racism before then. Trump did more for this country than Biden has or will ever do. He didn’t care about the money. Every cent he earned was given to others, while he took a penny out of his salary because he was forced to. Ever since Biden has gotten in office America has been declining and anyone with a brain would agree. Trumps only issue was that he didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut.
I have tried 3 times to post something profound but any way you look at it this man is disgusting!
Hmmm, how about that proof that the Russian collusion crap was all a complete hoax? Feel dumb yet?
Right before the 2016 election my husband's rarely used Facebook account was hacked by a Russian who was sharing pro Trump anti Hillary posts. I also have liberal friends whose accounts were hacked and spewing Trump vomit... If I were investigating it I would have looked into what dead Facebook pages were up to. You will never convince me that there was no collusion!
You can find online just by googling, the final DOJ report (a pdf) that starts (on Page 9 after the table of contents) "Russia interfered in the 2016 election in a sweeping a systematic fashion." --- So you are correct. They did. The DOJ reported that they did. Here it is. Starts on page 9. https://www.justice.gov/archives/sco/file/1373816/download
Are you at all worried about the mountains of evidence that the Democrats DID STEAL the 2020 election? No, because you are so full of TDS you don't care how he 'lost'.
LOL, oh yes, a handful of FB posts changed the election. You really believe that?
@Denver DuBois "Feel dumb yet" Ha, still you.. Explain to me why his entire cabinet is arrested over a hoax (Russia Collusion) then? Trump had been admitting/bragging to befriend Putin for years. FBI raided his attorney's apartment, and the bounty brief proved it. Feels dumb yet, little boi?
@townhall05446 "you have mayo for brains" with plural s for brain, how intelligent you're, lol. Yeah, like I believed the government works with DeepGate along numerous "gates" to commit the lockdown & mandate against the "promiseland" nation, spread the falsehood of Coronavirus and the mask works with the devil under Trump's era. Ohhh, yes, you surely are hypocrisy Christian that fought against the authorities. Think how's this sound on your side?

So tell me a little more about Hunter Biden and how daddy saved him??
Wonder why the Democrats made up a fake 'dossier' of allegations about him? Wonder why the DOJ under Obama, knowing it was fake, still used it to authorize a groundless investigation / fishing expedition? Wonder why after 3+ years Robert Muller couldn't find anything on Trump? What little they found on his associates they hoped could be used to lever some secret info of wrongdoings that could be used against Trump. The fear of Trump is still alive and well and they are still trying to investigate him, wanting to rummage through his taxes to see if they can't find something. Maybe you should let the cops in your house for a few years based on phony planted evidence?
@Townhall05446 Look like someone didn't even bother to read the comment. Im understands it's too hard for you to find the realistic than "feeling" space of fictional. Lmao, Robert Muller "couldn't find anything on Trump"? So the raid of his attorney's apartment and entire cabinet arrested isn't hard as concrete evidence as Jan 6th, an Insurrection. Guess, Im must be this full of TDS dumb replying 3 times to the same commenter in a row, toxicity much? Guess the entire world is also full of TDS danced/celebrated when your "typical savior" lost the Election, and you people still squealing over "Election Rigged" and bunchs of conspiracy bs. Do you ever hear of "do your research", its very helpful to make yourself less embarrassed, tho? So, that's make you BDS, Biden Derangement Syndrome, so go buy $300 insulin to smooth BDS.
Trump doesn't own this building. Trump licenses his name so that other owners/developers can slap the "Trump Hotel" or "Trump Tower" name on it. The vast majority of building with the Trump name are not owned by him.
You are just typical of a Trump lover. foul mouth, foul mind, fit right up his ally! BTW 130 days Biden has been i and already the Whole of the US has improved. What did Trump do for you but take away your Welfare and encourage you to hunt anything you can so you can stay alive with out using the US Government
LOL. So much improvement. The Afghan disaster with us leaving behind thousands of American citizens and allies to be slaughtered by terrorists, the open southern border disaster with THOUSANDS of migrants camping on the ground in the hot sun, dying of heat prostration while Kamala parties in California, trafficking and border crime at an alltime high, crime rates up all over the US, gas prices and inflation soaring...oh yeah, SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT. Idiot.
LOL, everything Biden has done is an utter disaster. Supply chain, Afghanistan pull out, paying people to NOT work, empty shelves, high inflation, OH BOY isn't it great?
Everything on every front has gotten worse under Biden. Lmao I could laugh all day at how dumb some of you people are.
Pretty accurate depiction of the Trump Preferred Way of Life. The obscene opulence for the few, right up against the abject poverty, filth, trash, and utter despair of the many—-on whose backs the fortunes of those few were made, and are still being made. Oh, and rubbing in the noses of the many, to boot. Who TF puts a billboard like this on a street like this, unless they have a callous, insensitive, and patently unfunny sense of humor.
Of course it's okay when your heroes do it, like Pelosi with her 25K double freezers full of expensive ice cream and her hundreds of millions of insider trading bucks, like Zuckerberg and the Google creeps with their billions trying to control and censor and spy on ordinary Americans 24/7, and Soros trying to literally tear our country to pieces--that's all JUST FINE, right?
Just shut up trying to defend your God because he does NOT give 2 f***s about you
Pardon my saying this, but what you said, what a load of crap! Rich Democrats are the biggest hypocrites and only exploit the poor to get their votes.
What Bidet are you writing about ?? T rumps?? that is precisely what it is used for..rumps...
TRUMP SUCKS! This advertisement speaks volumes, nay, TOMES!!! So happy he is no longer our President. We are doing so much better as a nation now, thanks to President Joe Biden. Whether you want to admit it or not. You right wing conservatives KNOW it's the truth, and that Trump is still a bigot, hater, demoralizer, divider of nations...
I was so incredibly sad when he got Covid and didn't die. Hopefully he'll be wiped off this planet before 2024 since it looks like Republicans have decided to take an even bigger low in their views as they want to actually put this abomination back in Office, as if there isn't another Republican who wouldn't be so f*****g dangerous to, not only the States, but the rest of the f*****g world, they could get behind. I mean when the rest of the world laughs at and loathes your Country's dim witted choice, you, and I mean Republicans, and only Republicans, (since the rest of us are not this dense, nor do we have a death wish), know you've truly f****d up
Load More Replies...I share your concern, Christy. This abominable creep is already running the Republican Party from his cave and will probably get back in in 2024. America prides itself on being "the leader of the world" but for all that, it is a miserable country being ruined by the likes of Trump and his mates. Australians think he is a joke, but he is a very dangerous one.
he won't live long enough to pay all those a-holes to vote for him this time
We can only hope that will actually be the case. It was delicious irony when he caught Covid! But tragically those doctors & nurses made him well again. That was a personal heartbreaker for me.
Your hatred is sad. How compassionate you are compared to Trump! Actually you are most like the part of one's anatomy the waste leaves though.
I agree with 99% of what you're saying Christy. I've been trying to fight this, I've been raised to believe a lot of things that I'm finding out are not true. But I'm seeing that Trump = capitalism. He is the very definition. I'm so dismayed that there are people that openly LOVE this sociopath. The hateful, evil little rats following the piper have NO idea that the Bigger rats hate them too. I think The Proud Boys got a little taste of that.
Wow, don't you sound like a positive caring person? Socialism has not worked in a good way not one time. Antifa is your style?
Do you have any common sense or are you just another of the sheeple that believes joe biden is mentaly healthy .
My fear is, that Ivanka or Lara will get to become governor or even worse, if Donnie doesn't get elected again. I know it sounds unlikely, but the vast amount of their brain-dead cultists are capable of anything.
Even worse that the creeps in office right now will remain there destroying America for 3 more years.
It’s difficult to wrap our heads around the level of stupidity that has swallowed a large portion of the United States population. I wish I could call it ignorance but there is a blatant lack of regard for truth and rationality in the mindset of many Trump supporters. I have seen people I know choose to believe his rhetoric and lies and the more corruption of his doing that is uncovered the more his supporters dig in their heels and profess not just Trump’s innocence of legal wrongdoing but they actually praise his ethics and morals. I’m becoming more afraid that where we go from here is going to be decided by people outside of our ruling for we are becoming less capable of ruling ourselves. Think about that.
I think that every day when I see pedo Joe speaking incoherently, stumbling around like a zombie & touching little girls inappropriately. How dumb are the people who voted for him?
Pedo Joe? What rock did you crawl out from? At least he's not out grabbing p*"" ies & lusting after his own daughter. You sick f:"k
Trump said "They let you grab..." LET YOU. LET. Consenting adults. But your hatred prevents you from seeing anything but what CNN tells you to.
And you believe that 🤔 you're probably still waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall. Please don't drink anymore bleach.
I totally agree. I cannot nor will I ever understand the logic and reasoning behind these people who have gone so far over the edge, they practically consider Trump the 2nd coming of Christ. The Q-anon believe JFK was coming back to life and would place trump in his rightful seat of power, seeing's how the election was stolen. Are you kidding me? He started planning this twisted plot long before the election. And Covid gave him a perfect tool to use. Many more people using mail in ballots so as to keep themselves safe. And the more mail in ballots you have, the risk of fraudulent votes goes up exponentially.....in trumps version. We all watched as he suggested injecting bleach into a body to rid the virus and had military shoot rubber bullets and pepper spray into a crowd of people so he could get to his photo op. And these are the lesser of his offences. Does the other half of this country think this is acceptable behavior? Apparently so and THAT scares the hell out of me.
And yet you believe in Biden's rhetoric and lies. Lets look at botj sides of the coin. You're prob relieved Biden is President bc youre so indoctrinated
It’s difficult to wrap our heads around the level of stupidity a large portion of the United States population. I wish I could call it ignorance is a blatant lack of regard for truth and rationality in the mindset of many democrat supporters. I have seen people I know choose to believe his rhetoric and lies and the more corruption of his doing that is uncovered the more his supporters dig in their heels and profess not just bidens innocence of legal wrongdoing but they actually praise his ethics and morals. I’m becoming more afraid that where we go from here is going to be decided by people outside of our ruling for we are becoming less capable of ruling ourselves. Think about that.dity that has swallowed but there
If you think the world isn't laughing at this bumbling dope who was "fortified" into the presidency, you're dumber than everyone already thinks. The jokes on you though, because you're kissing the butt of anyone with a D after their names not caring that your rights are being taken away while it's ensuring that moderate people are becoming more conservative. Roe v Wade is on the way out - and that's just the beginning. You're a hateful shrew.
What about a woman's right to her own body? Oh but you'll soon find out that you being a woman, I think, will fall victim
You are such a sad demented follower of the communist doctrine of the democrat party .
Absolutely, we'll said!!👏👏👏 For me, it is the "this just isn't the party of Reagan." TF are you yapping about? Reagan set the Stage and opened the door and rewrote the playbook for Rupert Merdoch and others like him to have no accountability under 'The Truth in Journalism Act" controlled by The FCC. My Family is Persian. Reagan's low down ass made a Deal with the Mullahs to release The Hostages after he became President and then he didn't follow through and...well..let me hush bc if Fake News Fox News don't say it everybody else thinks it's a Lie. If Jimmy Carter and His CIA..I personally think it was his administration...had of minded their damn Business The Mullahs wouldn't be in Power now literally killing their own People everyday. It only got worse after Trump. Make no mistake. All it was about was Shah Pahlavi wanted a Higher tax on its oil. How do you think AMERICO in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 became one of if not the largest Oil Producer in the World. Iran Contra Affair, nuthin?🇮🇷

We can still hop[e you get it and croak.
Seems to me you’re overly emotional, which has lead you to under using your logic and common sense. President Trump had literally nothing to do with the placement of that advertisement. Zero. No matter what was placed in that spot it would still be next to people living and sleeping in the street because of its location in Mumbai, INDIA. A place with some of the worst poverty on this planet. Which, by the way, was created by the people in INDIA! They have a caste system there which makes it near impossible to escape poverty if you are born into poverty. Your TDS is showing and you sound like a lunatic. Judging from the rest of the comments you’re not alone though. As for life being better since we voted in Former Vice President Joe Biden, as an Africa-American woman, I have to sadly disagree. One example alone, in January a gallon of gas was $2.39 here, I paid $4.17 yesterday. That is $32.04 ADDITIONAL every time I fill.
Caste system didn't create poverty in India. Islamist invasion that lasted 600 years, colonialism that lasted 200 years followed by socialist anti-industry policies by politicians after independence is the reason for India's poverty.
@Lisa Trump had literally nothing to do with the placement of that adversitsment? Then why his name on it, so is his Trump Tower, tho? Gotta laugh at the sentence "Seem to me you're overly emotional, which has lead you to under using your logic and common sense" while you people protesting wildly over Election Rigged, "evil democrat", BLM/Antifa and believing all of the conspiracy nonsense. Think you shouldn't lecture us about common sense when your side attacked America and ignored the law you supposed not to break it, but your side did it anyway. Funny we're supposed to worry about the Ukraine war, but you're here worrying about gas price, hilarious?
These belligerent hateful people literally sound like lunatics. You're totally right.
You can't talk to them. They're brainwashed and not that bright. They literally cannot admit that democratic policies are what lead to the mess our country is in. I mean, they can't comprehend that this picture is of a street in India and has nothing to do with anything Trump has done.
You obviously don't follow economics. Like AT ALL. Fact: of the last 5 republican presidencies, EVERY SINGLE ONE LEFT OFFICE WITH THE COUNTRY'S NATIONAL DEBT SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN IT WAS WHEN THEY TOOK OFFICE. ALSO FACT: Of the last 5 Democratic presidents, EVERY SINGLE ONE INHERITED ENORMOUS DEBT FROM THE PRIOR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT AND, BY THE END OF THEIR TERMS, THAT DEBT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. YOU cannot change facts. They exist and there is no "Trumping" them. Economists for years have been warning of the impact of Republican spending--because it is designed to get the wealthy elite a whole lot richer while vastly expanding the crevasse between them and everyone else. Whereas, Democrats invest in regular America and society. ---AND I'M NOT EVEN A DEMOCRAT.-- I'm just an Independent, anti-partisan everyday person who takes the time to question everything I see and hear from both sides. So...thank God for historical data. You people need to put the Flavor-aid down.
@Alison Duncan Murphy Ha, "brainwashed and not that bright"? Like I could say the same for you when your side refused to obey the law and attacked America all over conspiracy theory. That picture on street in India is literally has anything to do with Trump, his name and Trump Tower and he's personally purchased it. He literally tried to speak in Hindi, trying to connect with Indian American to win the vote, here the funny part, Hindi isn't part of America, so it wasn't count as America. Thats why he's lost the Election 2020, not because of Biden or any Democrat, but Trump. Do your "research".
Hahahaha its hilarious how stupid you sound. You have ZERO to thank Biden for.
@Brian Nussbaum Hahaha, so hilarious how stupid your comment sound. You have to thank to Trump for the crisis he brought upon America you people caused. At least he doesn't have the lowest approval from every official unlike Trump does in American history.
You will also love the horrible poverty the democrats will leave this country in during the coming years . Mr. Trump is the salvation of this once great nation . I just hope he can bring us back from the biden despair .
Yeah SOOOO much better. I'm loving the higher prices, the $7/gal gas, the increase in violent crime, especially in minority neighborhoods b/c democrats think it's a great idea not to have police so the criminals are terrorizing innocent people, racism is being encouraged, looting without consequences, attempting to force unwanted medical treatments on people while at the same time stopping people from getting needed surgeries, 4000 illegals crossing the border each day untested for covid, people are dying or suffering serious side effects from an experimental treatment, president poops his pants in front of the pope & stumbles around like an idiot while the rest of the world is laughing, supply chain shortages, unemployment, business closing, cities collapsing - but at least we don't have to worry about mean tweets, amirite?
You again? We had much worse with last 45th boyfriends during regime than today and you suddenly care just now? He's our the salvation? Last I checked, your savior made it worse by pitting (insurrection) police against the American who were protesting their 1st amendment, frauding his own people, ignoring the fact of crime got soaring under his regime, as just like Jan 6th. Ah, reminding me of Venezuela's crisis. The world is laughing now? What about back in 2016-2020, when America was the laughingstock with his shuttering lip, or "America's 1st" or cringe at every conference? This savior (Trump) almost got America into nuke and also building more nuclear rather than cutting the number of nuke. Oh, lol. Are you talking about a mean tweet that ultimately got Trump banned from all social media? Do you know they have a policy of harassment/deflamation, right? Oh, like you care about minorities, cry me a river.
Biden has the lowest approval rating of any US president of all time.
Biden is the biggest disaster I have seen in my lifetime and that is a long time.
Do you realize that Biden has the worst approval ratings in history? Not only do the Republicans hate him, but now, even the Democrats are able to see him as the lying, incoherent house plant that he truly is. He deserves to be imprisoned for his crimes against the American people. DESANTIS 2024!!!
Im not sure you mean by tiny orange hands unless Trump was in Biden in whole time!? Lol. Beside, Biden was just got into office in back of January 20, 2021, and approval haven't out yet, so hold your horsey. Have you ever seen Trump's approval like, at all? He has 34 approval than any previous president in American's history. Lol, whats crime that commit against the American people? Have you ever stopped watching the Cartoon & stopped coping/pasting and doing your homework? Get rkt, my boi.
Do you realize that Biden has the worst approval ratings in history? Not only do the republicans not like him, but now, even the democrats are able to see him as the lying, incoherent house plant that he truly is. DESANTIS 2024!!!
If life isn’t hard enough, they go and plaster a picture of that c*£k womble on the wall, felling cruel

Yes, looking down on all the little people, completely indifferent. That's the TRUMP way. All that's missing is the "I really don't care" jacket.
Yeah I'm sorry but doesn't India have its own government and organisations , I wish Indians themselves would complain this much about their president maybe that would make a change , the guy is a business man , and street persons always migrate they probably weren't there before when it was put up , he is just advertising just like alcohol companies do , Trump Tower would bring about more job opportunities for the locals thought of that , I'm not defending the man but sometimes don't let one person be a scape goat , yes he was a bad president but there are so many other politicians who have done much worse and still try and hide , India has its OWN GORVENMENT why aren't they handling such crippling poverty but no let trump be the one to take the fall.
Load More Replies...He was a GREAT President. Biden and his gang are out to destroy America. He LOVES America.
@ Joan - Indian government IS tackling poverty. Our President is Head of State, not Head of Govt, we have Prime Minister who is head of govt. We have pulled 270 m out of poverty. Rome was not built in a day.
They have their own "Trump" there. He is called Modi. He also doesn't give a sh*t for the poor and suffers from megalomania.

He literally came from poverty and had to sell tea to help his father during school! He's done so much for the people correcting the rot of decades and that's the reason his party increased their total votes from last election by 57 million....that's more than the combined population of Spain and Portugal and 1.9X the votes received by 2nd largest party. Get your news from better sources.
Load More Replies...@ProfessionalTimeWaster Your name lived up to this day. Bruh quit lying. We already knew whats he's and he had never done anything for people except ruin people's live. Wanna proof then bring his taxes to the public?
Solutions might include:
- Combat poverty by promoting economic development and job creation;
- Involve local community in local government;
- Reduce air pollution by upgrading energy use and alternative transport systems;
- Create private-public partnerships to provide services such as waste disposal and housing;
- Plant trees and incorporate the care of city green spaces as a key element in urban planning.
Ultimately, cities can bring us obstacles and opportunities as well as freedom and captivity, and it's up to us to get the most out of them.
People Offering Prayers At River Yamuna, India, Which Is Frothing From Industrial Waste
And none of these fools has the sense to even consider that bathing in industrial waste speeds up your reincarnation process.
Rather callous to call them fools. They may not even realize the dangers. Remember, somebody where you live had to be the one to realize just how bad swimming in frothing industrial waste could be. Hell, the Cuyahoga River had to catch fire (the water itself, not logs or other debris floating on top of it) for it to sink in here in the US—-and even then, 1969, it took decades to enact and enforce legislation requiring massive cleanup, and it’s not completely clean yet.
Load More Replies...And, how many of the companies generating the industrial waste are owned by US and Euro conglomerates? The people of India are being forced to bathe in the industrial waste of “western” civilisation. And worse, they often have little or no choice - whether or not they recognise the danger. We won’t dump it in our own back yards, but theirs is *fine*, because until someone thoughtlessly publishes a photo like this, we don’t have to think about the consequences. Like, the contribution from our posting comments on an internet board somewhere, using a device that’s production probably added to the foam these people are bagging in.
Don't underestimate the presence of Chinese oligarchs in the manufacturing line of business. There's a reason that most cities in China with industrial areas have smog so thick it changes the actual weather. And the Chinese have been buying so many businesses in the last 10-15 years--both in the U.S. and abroad-- that it would alarm the average American if they knew. American Fortune 500 companies, even. And don't get me started on their prolific real estate purchasing in the U.S. The big difference is: the Chinese don't have the kind of environmental policies many other 1st world countries have. That's also why there are more toxic chemicals in cheap Chinese products than those made in America, Europe, etc. (You can find lead, even, in ceramic bowls purportedly made for food use, as well as in cheap toys with metal parts (like jewelry and pewter figures). China's contributions to Global Warming and the health-related complications of bad manufacturing practice are prolific.
Klaatu Verrata, the reason why so many things are made in China is because countries from around the world send their stuff off to China to be made by slaves getting paid minimum wage ($~3 an hour) and have minimal education and training in manufacturing. Also, emissions PER CAPITA in China are much lower than in other countries, such as the US. China's huge population and slaves having to manufacture the world's stuff is why it pollutes so much as a whole, but even including the slave-run factories, China's emissions per capita are lower than the US.
How do you know these companies are owned by the west exactly? It is time people stop blaming the west for everything and take responsibility for their own countries mistake
" floating pieces of oil slicked debris were ignited on the river by sparks caused by a passing train" ........ water can't catch fire on its own !
No actually water can catch fire on its own. I forgot where I saw that but somehow it can. Its not like you will see it in your lifetime unless you live in some p****d up place. Most people dont experience a microburst but I had one in my yard and my roof tiles all flipped over and the noise was crazy loud but I thought the cat knocked over something. It took me three days to notice the roof. Luckily it was just tiles and not the roof. Things happen that we cant explain.
Nothing is more first World than using a device that causes foam pollution in a country accros the world to comment on a picture of people bathing in said foam to call them fools. Gotta love progress
It really. Wouldn’t be any different in the US. They need to be informed first that there’s a problem, and then there need to be funds available to fix the problem. There are no funds of course, when there no one advocating the issue be fixed. And there still be people wading into the water no matter how dangerous.
My fave of his allegories. And so apropos here.
Im sorry but even if I was born and raised in a cave, I would know that isn't right. I would put them in the category with the people, mostly women, that worked with radon last century. Its wasnt right but they didnt know better. Some people have common sense but most do not. It should be called uncommon sense.

Please, they have to know this is hazardous to their health. They cannot be that ignorant. India has access to the same internet we do. I doubt there is a country where the importance of fresh potable water is unknown.
They DON'T know. I've been there and saw the documentaries. A wide range of population is not educated in India, oh so many are illiterate. Having a phone means nothing, even if they have one. The government doesn't care about that waste, and doesn't care about these people. And frankly: the rest of the world doesn't either. Have you seen how our leather and fabric products are made??? Who gives a damn - when you can buy a nice purse for a low price - where it comes from.
Even if they do know, they may not want to give up important religious rituals. It's not their fault companies care nothing for them or their lifestyles.
Seriously, you need to think this through. For a start, the country of India is absolutely huge, containing ultra-rich, educated people and also many who can't even run a light bulb. There may be information available, but the people swimming in that river not only can't access it, but wouldn't have the motivation to access that information. How many links have had to be built in your brain for you to just assume this is common knowledge? How many of those links do you think they have been able to build?
You've obviously never been to--or even read anything about--India. They have roughly the same population (~1.4 BILLION people) as China, but in approximately 1/3 the space! ~1.2 million square miles in India vs. about 3.75 million in China. India is EXTREMELY caste. And most people are gravely poor. A majority of the people in India don't even have running water and/or electricity in their homes. Often, they can't even afford decent shoes. (AFRICA is similar). So...I think you are showing your 1st World Privilege. Try Googling it before you make a comment like that. For your own sake. So you don't embarrass yourself.
This comment about India's population is true, though. But I want to add that China actually doesn't have as much space as you may think because no one really lives in the western part of China because it's all desert and mountain.
👆What about Mao chinese? I think they or some other groups live in the mountains...

How stupid do you think Indians are that not a single person there realises this is bad? They just chose to worship regardless. These people are closer to getting a Darwin Award than they are to being poor little ignorant brown people that don’t have the wisdom we, far more intelligent whites have 🙄
"These fools" are breathing chemicals more than 50 hours a week in order to dye the clothes YOU buy and wear. Most likely the same chemicals that are released in the water they drink and bath in everyday, and the same chemicals that caused what we see in the picture. So I don't think they are the ones who deserve to be called "fools".
The fact that they have a job which benefits us says nothing about their mental capacity.
Considering they also defecate in that water, I think the label is appropriate!
I'm wondering if most people upvoted the "fools" comment because they are foreign and non christian...

That's why I buy my clothes from China and Vietnam instead! :-). It's the buyers that are fools.
Seen the rivers there? They are no better. If you were trying to be ironic, or sarcastic, I’m sorry, I think it missed the mark.

so f.uck.ing what? what about you, don't tell me you walk around naked?
Lol it’s not racist at all. Nothing was said about race. Doesn’t matter where you’re from, ignorance is ignorance. It’s definitely not their fault that they don’t know better, but let’s be real here. There’s nothing racist about calling them fools
Yes, it's very condescending and rude to exercise your right to free speech and\or tell the truth.
@mcmp. Just bc you agree with the racist doesn't make you right. Read the room, genius.
Be grateful you can sit in your nice ivory tower
@mcmp. And you, so stop with the holier-than-thou attitude. Nobody is impressed with how superior you seem to think you are to everyone else.
Given the water quality in much of the world, this is probably not the worst there is, unfortunately. I refer to Flint, Michigan, USA, just for a start.
It does not matter where it is, EVERYONE deserves clean water, so opposing Leo's statement with a statement that faces the same issue is not helpful. We need to ensure that everyone has clean water, this includes both Flint and India.
Hey that is where I live! Thankfully I'm in the township and we have a well. BUT! I did live in the city when my child was about 2. Imagine rinsing off a sick kid that just puked all over himself with bottled water. F**k that
Haha yes, I don't drink the water from old buildings and I'm in the USA!!
Sadly, bad education plus piety leads to this sort of behaviour ; these are predominantly poor, uneducated people, not 'fools', they most likely don't understand the correlation between early death and bathing in polluted water ; having been to India many times, one only has to drive a short distance to realise that this analogy goes for uneducated, ill trained people being put in charge of 2, 3 or 4 ton machines of death (cars, trucks, lorries) as well - the last time I was there, in Jaipur, I saw two buses collide, with one going off the side of a small mountain - 4 people died and the local police wrote it off as a 'minor' accident .....
Much more to the point, there IS NO clean water as an alternative in their area.
Ofcourse it's a minor accident, there are hundreds of millions of them.every person that does is considered one less mouth to feed.
A fool is a person who acts unwisely or imprudently. You decide if that includes ignorance.
I've asked about this. They know - they are praying for a better environment despite it.

So they're not praying for forgiveness??
Awful judgey, you have no idea what these people have thought and considered. Perhaps they are doing the best they can with what they have. I assume since you're so worried about it, you'll be forming some sort of plan to help these people?
Irrelevant if nice equals politically correct. Losing your free speech doesn't make you nice.

On the contrary, I'm a very nice person with no respect for religious stupidity that makes people suffer.
how do you decide what constitutes as stupidity and when people are suffering? also, how can having no respect be something a nice person does?
Maybe just try not to call them fools. They might not know, and they have feelings too. Bathing in the Yamuna river is a ritual.
Maybe they don’t have the option of popping home to their 4 bedroom mansion with running hot and cold water. Really, really shallow comment.
Ah, yes, they do. If you had to live in that crap, wouldn't you want to get started on the reincarnation?
Same river from different regions....this pollution is centred around capital and industrial regions. Yamuna-60d...5354e1.jpg
Maybe they believe that life in a different world would be better than this.
How are people assuming people are like playing in this foam.. they are aware of what it is and are mourning- just like we are- praying on the matter, not praising it. People assuming others are so dumb reveal their own ignorance.
So does drinking the water in the Ganges. Got any more genius concepts?
And you fail to grasp exactly the chemical transformation that takes play within the atomic structure of water molecules when prayer or positive thought is directed at them.
@Lama Glama Did you even LOOK at megachurches in USA during covid....
They do know. The ceremony is more important than death. Calling them fools is cruel and uncalled for.
That's disgusting of you to say. Talk about crass, thoughtless, and judgemental.
Or the reason why they have so many birth defects. Like people born with tails n s**t. I swear all the crazy birth defects are from India.
They voluntarily bathe in the river Ganges so this might be an upswing for them.
How do you know they haven’t considered it?
Honestly,I don't know how many choices they have for H20?? Now can you imagine...pray but get on the phone, the bus,get to some attorneys some offices....etc
That's cruel to call them fools. I don't think they have easy access for education...and even if they did, we don't know their bank accounts. Poverty makes it hard to stay in school. Let's be mad at the industries, not the people. Thank you.
That’s pretty harsh actually. Maybe they just didn’t know? I’m sure there’s been numerous occasions where someone could’ve called you a fool but you were just uninformed.
ever heard of religion?! they can do what feels right to them. no one is forcing them and you don't have the right to tell them to stop
If something sacred has been harmed it doesn't make it any less precious. Ignorance to a danger does not make one stupid. Reincarnation does not care about pollution. We should care if we or anything else is going to be here or stay here.
A bit OTT to call people out for being fools when this maybe their only way to offer prayers.
These "fools" are probably breathing in toxic waste. This looks like many children are dying and just look at how deep that waste is!
Exactly..it is so sad that the world is full of adults that can not think for themselves and claim to have common sense..imagine all these adults still believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny. Truly sad and amazing..these ppl need to give their head a shake. I bet you the ppl that made up “Jesus” and the rest of the BS are laughing so hard if they could see us now🤦♀️😂🤣😂 I know I do!

In fact it does speed up your reincarnation process. The faster you die, the faster you are reborn.
Of ourselves they are not educated and believe this will help them so sad.

Is it really waste, or sea foam?

Exactly - big water even in California's Big Sur (very clean) creates lots of sea foam, especially when I throw my Tide Pods in after my youtube challenge video.

This clever people have figured out that bathing in industrial waste water speeds up their reincarnation process

You have the right to say that just like I have the right to my comment. 2 way street there 10 ply cupcake.
Ummm I'm from this country and I'm disgusted. The rivers in India are polluted ruthlessly by religious people as well as industries. Its saddening how the actual lifelines are getting destroyed by the people themselves and then these people think God can solve everything. Literally no one will.
I got curious "...Yamuna Pollution... at least 90% of domestic wastewater in the city flows into the Yamuna. The wastewater mainly comes from household activities hence the presence of high content of detergent, laundry chemicals, and phosphate compounds."
Same with the Ganges - people take religious bath in water that's considered highly toxic to any kind of lifeform
Ganga has been cleaned up a lot. Largely because new govt is taking efforts. There are lot of illegal industries which operate around rivers which just dump their waste in rivers. Back in 2017, a state govt asked all illegal slaughterhouses to shut. It caused a meat crisis in the state! In 1 region it was revealed that out 126 slaughter houses that existed, only ONE had the valid permission to operate. Only 21 bothered to put up treatment plants!! That's why the current political party is popular in India, though Western media paints them to be villains - they get some things done that is good for country, correcting the rot of decades. Most political parties just operate like family business.
Load More Replies...Western media has never made out any Indian government to be villainous. You don't know what you are talking about. But India is supporting and funding all of the evil in Ukraine, so they probably should be showing you like that.

I’m sorry, but praying for it isn’t going to help.
Load More Replies...I was being sarcastic. I am the only person who adopted our local waterway and do the cleanup of trash alone.
YUCK. But FYI, the main component of the toxic waste is phosphate... formely sold in the U.S. as dish or laundry detergent. Terrible for the environment, but these people aren't exactly being suicidal. In fact, the government's larger problem with the "idol dipping" is the further damage to the environment, not the harm done to the human dippers. (They leave the idols in the river to dissolve by the millions.)
I don't think these poor people should swim in laundry or dish detergent then. Regular soap sometimes dries out my hands. Think of rashes, inflammation, blindness, asthma, etc. Also, why was phosphate no longer used in U.S? Is it carcinogenic or like talcum? Also, do you know if this river has any harmful additives in it? Like 'fragrance,' a black box that can hold too much? (Not meaning to be rude or anything)
Load More Replies...Not just racism. They are in the hinduist buddhist ring of religions, so certain people are definitely thinking of that. It disgusts me when people put one religion above another...

Its not a nuclear cooling tower. It is for a heating, electric and hotwater generating plant ( TETS in Russian) most are coal or gas powered and that is for releasing steam.
It's just a cooling tower. Shame that they didn't do something with it to make it more aesthetically pleasing. In Denmark I have seen chimneys painted blue with white clouds. Trouble is you'd then see the pylon in front of it even more. Just make sure you ask for a room at the front. You'd have no trouble finding it though, would you.
Even so, that close to the plant there's going to be a high level of pollution. And it's not exactly inviting.
its not a chimney emiting polluted gas, its a cooling tower, I know it looks like a nuclear plant, tschernobyl or whatever, but dont judge a book by its cover
but they couldve painted the cover, or this tower a nice color. I think we cant judge a book by its' cover for sure but we get to still think something based on how worn-out it looks. For example a book with a teeth bite on the side of the cover will tell you that a dog ate some of it, so in a way the phrase dont judge a book by its cover is half true. sorry for the rant btw x)
Coal is far WORSE than nuclear. Burning and mining coal releases radioactive Thorium, Mercury, and several other nasty chemicals. Far better to have a nuclear power plant than a coal powered anything.
If you lived next to a nuclear power plant, you'd get less radiation than living next to a coal one.
Which makes it worse. Nuclear plants don't generate any smoke. Coal smoke is bad.
Smoke generally rises, and affects areas far away from the plant more than areas near to it. Near to the plant floating clouds of coal dust from the handling equipment is much worse.
No smoke...However, how could we ever contain the nuclear waste to have like a half life of a 22 thousand years? Lol we do not have the technology to contain nuclear waste for that long
I spent five years semi-regularly working with nuclear materials and did a bit of hobby blacksmithing as a teen, and I can say absolutely for sure that coal waste scares me more than uranium waste, and that's not even counting for pollution.
Yes,Samantha, you are absolutely right. :) I live in Poland and I confirm it.
Our local power plant has those similar striped towers so I knew it was likely coal. I've had a nuclear plant near my home once out towards Washington State area and their big tower was too clean unlike this one shown here.
Ohhhhh, well THAT feels better!! No radioactive products, just massive smoke from a coal-burning electric power plant!!
Considering Łódź is full of old manufacturers i assume this is just an old factory from the Soviet era. I doubt it's still in use.
In Poland we don't speak Russian, so I don't see the reason to say "TETS in Russian". Also, this chimney is out of functioning for long time ago
